  1. It mentioned all the people appearing in the beginning of the show...u shouldn't have expected seeing him there after they didn't announce his name.
  2. People who only listen 2 Top 20 Rap may have the opinion, but that's cuz they are supporting untalented artists with garbage music. Any artist outside that Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Eminem, Ludacris, G-Unit, Kanye West, Chingy, Lil' Jon, circle is ignored by top 20 Rap fans. Not all of them, but most of those above artists suck...so why are real music fans gonna care what their opinion is. JJ+FP is respected by most old skool fans. And more-adult fans of Hip-Hop respect what he dose. They might kinda laugh at songs like "Miami" and "Will 2K" but they resect his older stuff and his current stand on standards 4 his music. JJ+FP is one of the most well-known acts Hip-Hop ever brought out.
  3. "Summertime"...no doubt. Other trax like "Brand New Funk" are close...but 2 me, nothing can beat "Summertime." The great thing about JJ+FP is their music never slips. Sure "Rock The House" and "He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper" are loaded with classic old skool Hip-Hop, but half of "Homebase" and "Code Red" are on the same level of quality. New skool stuff like "Potnas" is nearly as flawless as trax like "Summertime."
  4. Downloading is wack...get the video!! Once u get that, u can have the real thing the way it waz meant 2 be...on a TV screen!! It's great having all those videos back 2 back, but Jive needs 2 put out a DVD. If u get the JJ+FP "Greatest Hits" video, u'll have them all but "The Things U Do."
  5. The last album i bought waz New Edition's "One Love." 2morrow i'm gonna pick up the new one from Destiny's Child (which is the release date here in the US). On ebay i've won tons of CD promo singles at 1 cent each...ha ha...Boyz II Men, Mariah Carey, R. Kelly, Warren G, Immature, Janet Jackson, Usher, Dru Hill, Dr. Dre, En Vogue, Craig David. I have no idea where the seller gets all this stuff..he has at least 100 pages of CD promo singles and promo posters all at under a dollar.
  6. Will someone delete these ignorant replys and ban this fool.
  7. I think it waz a good idea. If it waz filled with only previously released stuff. The Megamix waz brand new and fresh, "Lovely Daze" waz a real surprise, "Yo! Home To Bel-Air" waz also great since it wazn't commercially released at that point. Since "Men In Black" and "Just Cruisin'" were on the MIB soundtrack, i think some old skool fans probably didn't pick up the soundtrack. By Jive putting those trax on their, it probably caught up the old skool fans who didn't buy the MIB soundtrack...and since both of those songs were hits, they fit in right at home. "I Wanna Rock" and "The Things U Do" were the only trax that were worthy of being on the Greatest Hits album so i like what they desided 2 go with...especially since they weren't exactly hits...just overlooked singles.
  8. On the JJ+FP Greatest Hits, they state that "Men In Black" and "Just Cruisin'" are performed by "Will Smith." They were added on as bonus material. I like the way they put those trax 2 add some new flava 2 an album filled with previously released music.
  9. I like the way they say FP's new album is "highly anticipated." I liked the way Kwame said LL's "10 Millions Stars" his favorite track that he's worked on. That's definitly one of the best Hip-Hop songs in the last few years.
  10. Yeah, something crazy like that would cause alot of hype and hype usually leads 2 at least some commercial sucess. Alot of artists these days can sell records on strictly hype without any talent or creativity at all. If da 'Prince did something like that, it would probably be a very smart move and shake some of the Hollywood glitter off his crown in Hip-Hop.
  11. U just said a few things i thought when i saw the list but avoided saying 2 dodge another overblown disagreement. With lists like this, u gotta balance out the quality of the music with at least some success. Eminem's "Infinite" wazn't even a list, that could never be ranked. On top of that, he's acting like he's someone he isn't...how dose that make it a dope album. Even Eminem has said that's not really 'him' on the record.
  12. I think it be a great way 2 comeback in2 the musical spotlight. I just doubt it's hime cuz there's nothing "shocking" about FP on the mic...even after a 2 year hiatus.
  13. It probably is real...but it's obviously an unathorized bootleg. I'll do some research 2nite 2 see if i can come up with anything.
  14. Alot of those albums belong there....and some of them don't.
  15. It wouldn't make sense 2 mention how gorgous she is...she's a model...they tend 2 look good.
  16. I doubt it's FP, but u never know. It is about time he do someting...and he's always had a good relationship with the AMA's.
  17. I heard this on the radio earlier and it just struck me in an ill way. I've never been a huge fan of his music, but i definitly like a few of his singles and followed his career. He waz an amazing persona. I always admired his unpredicability and comical genious. He waz one crazy person and one of the most free people i've ever seen. Just 2 days ago i waz listening 2 a track him and Jon B did and waz laffing as his awful singing on the song...ha ha. One thing is for sure, he is definitly a stand-out contributer 2 Hip-Hop. Props 2 ODB and my prayers go out 2 his family and friends. Here's an article from AOL... Rapper O.D.B. Collapses, Dies in Studio Rap Artist Complained of Chest Pain NEW YORK (Nov. 13) - The rap artist O.D.B., whose utterly unique rhymes, wild lifestyle and incessant legal troubles made him one of the most vivid characters in hip-hop, collapsed and died inside a recording studio Saturday. He was 35. Getty Images Rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard, aka O.D.B and Dirt McGirt -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AOL Search: More About O.D.B. O.D.B. had complained of chest pains before collapsing at the Manhattan studio, and was dead by the time paramedics arrived, said Gabe Tesoriero, a spokesman for O.D.B.'s record label, Roc-a-Fella. The cause of death was not immediately clear, but O.D.B. had recently finished a prison sentence for drug possession and escaping a rehab clinic. He would have turned 36 on Monday. O.D.B. -- also known as Ol' Dirty Bastard, Dirt McGirt, Big Baby Jesus or his legal name of Russell Jones -- was a founding member of the seminal rap group the Wu-Tang Clan in the early 1990s. With his unorthodox delivery -- alternately slurred, hyper and nonsensical -- O.D.B. stood out even in the nine-man Clan, which featured such future stars as Method Man, RZA and Ghostface Killah. The Wu-Tang blueprint was for each member to pursue solo projects, and O.D.B.'s were among the best. He released hit singles such as "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" and "Got Your Money," and appeared on remixes with artists like Mariah Carey. "There's nobody like him in the game," RZA told The Associated Press in an April interview, when asked if O.D.B. could resume his career after prison. "He's got a lot of problems he's got to iron out, of course, but as far as a one-of-a-kind person, a one-of-a-kind artist, he's one of a generation, one of a lifetime. He's a very rare commodity." But as his fame increased, so did his erratic behavior, and fans came to expect the unexpected from O.D.B. When MTV News followed him around at the height of his popularity, he took the camera crew and several of his kids (he was said to have more than a dozen, by numerous mothers) to the welfare office - in a limousine - to get an allotment of food stamps. And he received them. In February 1998, he crashed the stage at the Grammy Awards and hijacked a microphone from singer Shawn Colvin as she accepted an award, apparently upset over losing the best rap album Grammy to P. Diddy (then known as Puff Daddy). He complained that he spent a lot of money for new clothes because he thought he was going to win. The rapper later apologized. Over the years, he was wounded in shootings and arrested on a veritable laundry list of charges, including menacing security officers, illegally possessing body armor, driving with a suspended license, shoplifting and threatening a former girlfriend. In 2000, after escaping a court-ordered stint in a California rehabilitation center, authorities searched for him for a month. He was finally arrested in Philadelphia - three days after performing in a New York City concert with his Wu-Tang clique. He was sentenced in 2001 to two to four years in prison for drug possession, plus two concurrent years for escaping from the clinic. He was released in 2003 and immediately signed with Roc-a-Fella. He heralded his return with a news conference alongside singer Carey - pop fans may know him best for his memorable cameo on her hit "Fantasy," featuring rhymes like "me and Mariah, go back like babies with pacifiers." Tesoriero said O.D.B. had been working on his comeback album for more than a year and was almost finished. "Russell inspired all of us with his spirit, wit, and tremendous heart," Roc-A-Fella founder Damon Dash said in a statement. "The world has lost a great talent, but we mourn the loss of our friend." His mother, Cherry Jones, said she received the news of her son's death in a phone call, which she called "every mother's worst dream." "To the public he was known as Old Dirty Bastard, but to me he was known as Rusty. The kindest most generous soul on earth," her statement said. "Russell was more than a rapper, he was a loving father, brother, uncle, and most of all, son." 11/13/04 21:22 EST
  18. If u make alot of music that has no substance, when u do attempt 2 make a track with meaning...it just comes off as phoney. U can't take anyone 2 serious if all they talk about is drugs, money, and guns. When i'm expressing my opinion, i usually say when i haven't heard alot of an artists music. But i try 2 give everything a chance. I'll listen 2 my friends' music and stuff on the radio or internet. Of course, u hear so much that sucks, u don't have the desire 2 give them anymore of a change. I know singles don't always display an artists ability properly. So when i say somebody like 50 is wack, its' cuz i've listened some of his stuff....not cuz i heard a song or 2 and made up my mind.
  19. I've always liked "Never let the weather determine the man."
  20. I've been waiting 8 long years for this new album and i honestly havn't listened 2 it half as much as i expected 2. The guys were just really screwed when it came 2 promotion. I don't know why they settled for it and why people like Jimmy Jam + Terry Lewis slacked like they did.
  21. Materialistic lyrics are trash. WAKE UP!! Talking about diamonds is not keeping it real...diamonds have nothing 2 do with life. Music about jewerly is disposable...it's flash-in-the-pan crap. Jay, Nelly, and 50 can bling out all they want, but if they think that the cloths they wear and the diamonds they own are something that millions wanna hear about song after song and that it's meaningful 2 anyone, they are fooling themselves. When FP dose a song like "Holla Back" it's cool cuz it's funny and it's something most of us guys can relate 2. When Jay-Z talks about furcoats and stupid stuff like that, i'm not gonna wanna waste any braincells on stupid stuff like that. Hip-Hop is not about diamonds...when people celebrate Hip-Hop, they aren't celebrating G-Unit or Cash Money...they are celebrating a lifestyle and experiences that people from Fresh Prince to 2Pac to Scarface to LL Cool J are puttin' in their music.
  22. I think Jive would have done better musically, but i'm not sure about promotion. Jive wouldn't have treated FP as a Hollywood megastar recording music...they would have treated him as an emcee. They wouldn't try 2 control the finished product of the album as much as Columbia. Columbia may have changed his image 4 the worst...but they did back him properly for BWS. Jive is good about treating a pop artist like a pop artist, a Hip-Hop artist like a Hip-Hop artist, and R-N-B artist like and R-N-B artist, and so on. They never turned in2 a pop label, they just signed on some of the biggest names in pop music....how u gonna dog 'em 4 that, that's called smart business.
