I'm not following all this Presidential stuff tho' i have my opinions from the things i have heard and read. This post isn't meant 2 spark a fight (tho' i hardly care if it dose), but here is an e-mail that i wanted 2 share. I think it's really interesting. Sure, it may be compiled 2 support one side...but it's buildt up by quotes from the opposing side. Check it... ---------------------------------------------------------------- Here is something else that might be of interest ... (By the way, did you read in today's news that they are uncovering mass graves in Iraq with women and children who were shot in the back of their heads?) if you didn’t read it, here is the link http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/10/13/...aves/index.html "One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line." - President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998 "If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program." - President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998 Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face." - Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998 "He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983." - Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb 18,1998 "[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the US Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs." - Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin (D-MI), Tom Daschle (D-SD), John Kerry (D - MA), and others Oct. 9,1998 "Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process." - Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998 "Hussein has . chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies." >- Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999 "There is no doubt that .. Saddam Hussein has invigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies." - Letter to President Bush, Signed by Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL,) and others, December 5, 2001 "We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandated of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them." - Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002 "We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country." - Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002 "Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power." - Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002 "We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." - Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002 "The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..." - Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002 "I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force-- if necessary-- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." - Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9,2002 "There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years .. We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction."- Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002 "He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years, every significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. This he has refused to do" - Rep. Henry Waxman (D, CA), Oct. 10, 2002 "In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members.. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons." - Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002 "We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction." - Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002 "Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime .. He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction . So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real" - Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003 SO NOW EVERY ONE OF THESE PEOPLE SAY PRESIDENT BUSH LIED--THAT THERE NEVER WERE ANY WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION AND HE TOOK US TO WAR UNNECESSARILY! Send this to everybody you know..The media and networks won't do it. Why do you suppose that is?

Well, it's slang...and slang isn't really bad or good...it just "is." I personally don't use the word but the term is nearly 10 years old. It's nothing new. The 1st time it waz used in a real commercial way waz the Ghostown DJ's huge 1996 bass/r-n-b hit "My Boo" off the So So Def Bass All-Stars album (dope album by the way). America is Hip-Hop's home so u can't expect anything less than having American slang and concepts all over most of it.

I caught the end of "Lean Back"...that's where i popped in. I thought it sucked. Song has a decent beat but nothing less 2 offer. I don't think Fat Joe is bad tho'...he's got some good stuff out. I think the 2nd half of PE's performance waz really crazy. He did kinda drown in everything that waz going on. But it waz dope...it waz like a 3 ring circus on stage...u didn't know what 2 watch.

Producer Kwame talks about Switch
JumpinJack AJ replied to krizia's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I waz just talkin' about this board since i'm the moderator. However, whenever i see freestyles loaded down with cussin'...i just don't pay attention 2 them. Intellegent people know how 2 convey ideas without using words like that. By the 2nd or 3rd cuz word, i just ignore 'em. I have better things 2 do than read crap. Tim himself wants the boards 2 remain respectful. If u look at other Hip-Hop/Rap boards, they are often used by people who say nasty stuff and cuss up a storm. I don't think anyone here wants the boards 2 go that way. -
JJFP - Girls aint nothing but trouble
JumpinJack AJ replied to Doubler706's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Yep! That's it, the original release. August 1986 baby!! -
I waz at work when it 1st aired but i'm watching the rerun right now. I didn't cut in until right before Public Enemy. That waz amazing. Did u see how they rocked that!?!?! Chuck D is over 40 years old and he's rockin' the mic and runnin' all over the stage!! U don't see Nelly and 50 Cent doin' that. They untalented butts just stand on the stage. The fellaz totally put on a show. CRAZY ENERGY!! I thought it waz cool that when MC Hammer recited a verse from "Unconditional Love" (one of 2Pac's best songs). However, i think Hammer should have performed "Keep Ya Head Up." 2Pac waz knockin' Nas during the East Coast/West Coast feud but Nas always played it off like they were cool (did he not hear 2Pac's music and freestyles?!). Nas messed up the words and even tho' it's a slower song, he waz outta breath by the last verse. MC Hammer repersents the same community 2Pac came up in as a teenager and they were cool. In fact they also performed 2gether at one of Deathrow's events that gave props 2 mothers where they performed live for mother in in Cali. VH-1 shortly presented 2Pac's legacy better than MTV would have. They didn't focus strictly on the Deathrow era like some tributes do. MC Lyte looked great even tho' i only saw her bridging the show 2 commercials. "Rapper's Delight" waz amazing. It started off with The Chic "Goodtimes" (once remixed by DJ Jazzy Jeff + ATOJ...and sampled for "It's All Good"). Then Sugarhill Gang took the stage and didn't show a sign of slowing down. It looked like they had been performing the song non-stop since 1979. Then MC Hammer comes out rocking a bright yellow shirt, jacket and bandana w/ jeans and shades. He just fused some old skool dances and new skool dances 2gether and outshined the fly girls behind him. The camera shots kept switching, but waz did i see LL on stage near the end? (Was he there?). I think i saw DMC 2 but with all that shot flashing...who knows. There waz no lacking of energy and smiles at all. Simply amazing. The great thing 2 hear waz that they are gonna make it an annual event!! From what i saw, i waz just happy 2 see old skool artists and people with talent getting 2 put it on stage for millions 2 see. With a special like this, maybe Hip-Hop dose have a chance. I mean, how can somone like that keep themselves ignorant and only listen 2 the new skool trash?? Can't wait 2 see the whole thing when it reruns again. JJ+FP better be on there next year!!
-
Go on MJ!! Pull that trash off the TV screen!! Eminem is such a loser, i love the fact that BET took it off the air. He's built his whole career off gimmicks...his music is no longer good enuff 2 balance out the gimmick vs. quality ratio so he's gonna have 2 step up his game of he's gonna fall flat on his face.

What was the last album you bought?
JumpinJack AJ replied to Jazzy Julie's topic in Caught in the Middle
During my last stop 2 the music store, i picked up Jon B "Stronger Everyday," Usher "Confessions: Special Edition," and the Australian Import of Alicia Keys "The Diary of..." with a bonus CD featuring remixes. My next stop 2 the music store will be 2 pick up De La Soul's "The Grind Date" and Talib Kweli's "The Beautiful Struggle." -
'Superman' star Christopher Reeve dies at age 52
JumpinJack AJ replied to fan 4ever's topic in Caught in the Middle
Very sad news... but i look at it this way. Now he can truely fly without special efx. -
I'll keep my eyes open 4 it. I like Snoop Dogg, but since the very late 90's...his stuff dosen't impress me like it used 2. Still better than your average stuff tho.' After that 213 album, i'll definitly be checkin' 4 it.
-
Sorry, i can't believe this til i see a source. Unless they are talking about a reunion episode that focuses on the show. All of Us is supposed 2 have some more Will and Jada appearances this season...that's a fact. I got that from TV Guide.
-
Very cool!!
-
Bring on the music!!
-
That is the illest!!

How can u say it's not on the level of Hip-Hop back then..it has Schooly D, Kool Moe Dee and Whodini on it. Mimi is from JJ+FP's camp in Philly. She raps with FP on that Billy Ocean track "I Sleep Much Better (In Someone Else's Bed).
-
Man, i just love this song. It's been on the radio for like a month and i can't get enuff of it. Usher is just one of the smoothest playas out there representing young guys like me. And Alicia Key is just one of the most talented people on the face of this planet. The music's steady bumpin' R-N-B drenched sound is amazing. The video is great 2. The colors and camera work is just perfect 4 the song. However, what has me hooked the most is the subject matter. Anybody relate 2 that song?? I definitly have a person in mind when i hear that song. That special girl that u have alot of special moments with, but the timing just isn't right. And even tho' time has passed since things feel apart, u still think of that person every single day. Since the song kinda touches on the idea of them also being in the entertainment bizness, it's kinda cool cuz myself and this other person are local actors...of course we aren't famous tho.' But people do recognize us from our work on stage and in commercials. It's funny cuz since me and this girl had a falling out, we've kept busy but neither of us have worked 2gether since that time and we are always brought up when it comes 2 chemistry (on stage and 2gether). Usher and Alicia's chemistry remind me of our own. Anybody really feelin' this song and/or relating 2 it?
-
R u sure? I've seen versions of their albums from all over the world and i've never seen this remix on any of them. I've only ever seen it on the Girls Ain't Nothing/Brand New Funk singles.
-
Let's not get 2 loose on what a Hip-Hop luv song is about. I wouldn't consider "Time To Chill" and "Walk This Way" luv songs.
-
Actually, WORD contains a JJ+FP track off one of their 1st or 2nd album (i forget which track). WORD 2 has "New Kids On The Block" on it. If u like old school, those WORD albums are good. If not, u might not like some of the trax. This compilations are basically an outlet 2 put out their current Hip-Hop artists at the time.
-
I like Sean Paul. "Gimmie The Light" waz dope and i've liked ever single since. I got his album and more than half of it is real good. I love reggae and dancehall music...especially in the summertime. Don't 4get him and FP worked 2gether on Shaggy's remix of "Hey Sexy Lady."

'Superman' star Christopher Reeve dies at age 52
JumpinJack AJ replied to fan 4ever's topic in Caught in the Middle
Check the link in the 1st post...it's got all the general info there. -
It's eazy when Eminem's newer stuff is the topic. Nobody takes Eminem seriously. When he dose stuff, he dose it wrong. He can attack the Bush Administration but nobody is gonna pay attention 2 him. When Public Enemy makes music like that, it's not done in a way 2 get fame or money. It's 2 express themselves. Eminem just wants attention...he's not even calling 4 action, just attention. Since he's a joke, nobody is gonna take him seriously. Chuck D vs. Eminem....puhleeze

That's sad. I grew up on comic books and those Superman movies. There were times when i'd watch one of them almost everyday. In his later years, he definitly served as an inspiration 4 all kinds of people. He was definitly a role model of mine. Rest In Peace.
