1. Shanice isn't new at all. She came out in the late 80's. In 1991 she had a big hit with the jam "I Love Your Smile" (which is when i became a big fan of hers). In 1993 she dropped "21...Ways To Grow" which is a dope album. It had the hit single "Somewhere"...she came back in 1999 with "Everytime I Close My Eyes" and "Yesterday." Since then she hasn't made much noize but in 2001 she sang on a track on Kenny Lattimore's "Weekend" album. I've only heard a song or 2 by that Marron 5 group, but i really like one of their songs. Infact, most of the rock songs that were nominated 4 awards at the VMA's are songs i would listen 2 when i'd hear them come on the radio.
2. I don't know if u can find it online anywhere. Last time i check MC Hammer's website wazn't even really up and running. The song is very good...the best of all three of the new songs i've heard from him. I agree with what u said about Jadakiss' song "Why" it seemed like he did it just 2 get attention. There's no feeling in that song at all 2 me. I give props 4 the effort but when VH-1's Best Week Ever clowns u like they did, u know something is wrong.
3. I still hate the name of the movie! :daedulus:
4. Compared 2 what Hip-Hop albums sold back then, it didn't really do that bad, it waz just seen as a slight commercial flop cuz of how it waz accepted compared 2 how Public Enemy and NWA waz starting 2 get noticed. This waz also when Young MC and MC Hammer started defining how big Hip-Hop songs could get.
5. The other day i saw the video by Guerilla Black. It waz the most pathetic yet accurate Biggie wananbe i've ever seen. Not only dose this guy look alot like Biggie, but his voice is really husky just like Biggie's. I'm sure the few comparisons in his flow 2 Biggie are no mistakes. The video is even shot in mid-90's Bad Boy style. It's the most desperate attempt i've ever seen in my life. It toally reminds me of when Deathrow signed Realest, a 2Pac wannabe who sounded alot like him, rapped like him and weven tried 2 write like him (not 2 mention being named after that Trapp/2Pac/Biggie "song" "Be The Realist." It's sad when u see people go this far 2 make money.
6. ANYWAYS... Back on topic...i waz listenin' 2 LL Cool J "Feel The Beat" b4 i came in2 the house. That's probably my fav track of the new album. Right not i'm listening 2 Will.I.Am and Phife "Nah Mean."
7. I understand why some people don't want FP's albums 2 be a family affair, but at the same time, family is important 2 him and that's why he dose that. Most rappers go 2 extreems 2 not let fans know or remember that they are married ment with kids. That's stupid 2 me...in my opinion FP is just being as real as can be by putting his life on record like that. I'll never diss an emcee who's being real even if i don't like what i hear...but i'll easily clown all these rappers putting fake lifestyles on their albums, which is what all of them with commercial success are doing.
8. That's insane that they put "O.P.P." at number one...but at least it waz a good song. Everybody who sees that list and knows anything about Hip-Hop knows "Summertime" should have been at number one. "O.P.P." did blaze out thru' the summer of 1991 tho'...and they still play it occasionally on my local Hip-Hop station (which says alot cuz most of they stuff they play is trash). I remember back in 91 when JJ+FP waz being interviewed at an award show (the AMA's i think) and they were asked about their chances 2 win and FP waz like "We're not sure man, "O.P.P." waz such a big record."
9. What's even better than FP getting honored at this event, but his company is even good....Queen Latifah, 2Pac, Ice Cube, and Mos Def. I just don't know why Lurdacris is being honored...he hasn't even done anything in relevant in film..much less music. How they gonna over look LL Cool J who's been doing movies since the early 90's and evolving in2 a real actor while Lurdacris has only done something big in that garbage movie 2 Fast 2 Furious.
10. I'm pretty sure it'sll be called a WS album but JJ+FP will be on it.
11. Yeah right, Jadakiss...a serious emcee...he wishes.
12. Random note... Not long ago in Japan, the Boyz released a single for "Grandfather's Clock." Of course, that song wazn't put on the album (tho' it is a bonus track on the Tawain version). Anyways, i love Boyz II Men and found the single at a decent price and had 2 get it. It also features another song not put on the album. Hopefully i'll have it by the end of the week and hopefully now only will the music be good, but hopefully the 2 "new" trax will also be prouduced by A Touch of Jazz. AHHHHHHHH!!! I'm making this post and all of a sudden, last Friday's episode of 106 + Park came on. BOYZ II MEN IS PERFORMING "MOTOWNPHILLY" AS THE OLD SKOOL JOINT OF THE DAY!!!!!!!!! It's nice seeing them doin' their thing. Mike is definitly missed tho'...some of the harmonizing just isnt' anything like what it used 2 be. Hopefully this get some people buying this album!! AJ and Free came out at the end of their set and said New Edition could still rock some old steps live. They asked the Boyz 2 see if they could do the old Motownphilly steps (which they didn't do in the performance). They played the song and the guys nailed it!! Good stuff.
13. U know how rappers like Jadakiss try 2 do songs like "Why" and try 2 be all deep and serious about it, but u can never take them serious. Well, this is one of those legit postive songs.
14. Yeah, i expect the song 2 be real good. Hopefully they handel this soundtrack really well where it's properly promoted with videos and radio-singles. "Got To Be Real" seems like a likely choice tho.' If i found the 1st pressing promo single, that means there are others out there so it should be getting played any day now.
15. Yeah, "And In This Corner..." is without a doubt their funniest album.
16. I just saw the new Alanis Morrisette video. It's amazing, i'd love 2 see FP do a video with this concept. She starts out with a simple "performance shot" of her singing this new single, from there, he takes footage from all of her past videos and thru' the technology of computers, she makes the old version of her in her past music videos singe along 2 it...including her monster videos off her Jagged Little Pill album. From there, she goes one ground i never thought she'd touch. She actually re-creates her 1st video from when she waz a Canadian pop star (yes, pop star, not rock star as she re-emerged in the mid-90's. It's hilarious. She then goes one re-creating scenes from her on that show "You Can't Do That On Television" from the the 80's. It ends with her re-enacting her birth and having the baby sing the song. The concept and efx are amazing. Not 2 mention a good song. Keep your eyes open 4 it. Even if u don't like her music, u'll probably have 2 watch this video the whole way thru' cuz it's just so cool.
17. It's 3 in the morning and VH-1 just aired the new MC Hammer video. It's simply amazing. The song is incredible and the video is classic!! I'm so happy with this. I pray this video gets some spins 4 the sake of music. The song is straight Hip-Hop with an R-N-B hook. It features Hammer on the opening verse on some positive, inspirational tip. From there, he has his potnas the Stooge Playas, IP, and Pleasure taking the hook and additional verses. I'm not saying this just cuz i'm a long time fan, this song is great. U know how we are always talking about certain artists where we are like "Hip-Hop needs them right now"...well, this is one of those joints. This song more than passes my expectations. And these new guys Hammer has with him are not your usual un-signed guys with no talent hooking up with an established artist, these guys have skillz, they can rock and rhyme and write meaningful material. The video is shot in black and white and comes across very artistic...alot like ealry 90's videos. It shows alot of hood shots and people outside on the street without protraying it as "tha ghetto" like most ignorant rappers. I only saw the end of the "Full Blast" video which i've never seen on TV, but "Hard Times" is so much better. I never really pushed 2001's Active Duty album cuz it waz not on the level i'd expect from MC Hammer, but hearing 3 trax off this new album...i totally back this album as something everyone should check out.
18. It's definitly not a big surprise, but it looks like Christina Aguilera and Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliot's "Car Wash" is gonna be the 1st single of the Sharktale soundtrack. I waz lookin' around online and found the 1st pressing 1-track promo single for the song. Looks like we should be hearing it on the radio any day now.
19. I hate the pushy thing inside DVD cases tho'. Other wise, not a bad idea. I still like CD cases the way they are tho.'
20. fan4ever mentioned the Born To Reign site we created at... www.geocites.com/WillSmith_BornToReign Which remined me that we also did one for Jeff's album...here it is... www.geocities.com/JazzyJeff_TheMagnificent Unlike the B2R site, this one will probably have some pix u havn't seen and info u never knew about, so check the site.
21.
Chasing Forever by WILL SMITH !!!   peace, 3cookies
:lookhehe: Imagin that. Anyways, right now i'm listening 2 Jesus Christ Superstar. The last regular albums i listen 2 waz R. Kelly's "U Saved Me" and Trin-I-Tee 357's 2002 album.
22. Hey, don't 4get...i helped u find that pic. Pssssh...i waz next 2 Will in that pic, i'd make him look like Steve Urkle. Okay, maybe not. :juskiddin: :::Grabs Marky Mark Workout video and gets busy:::
23. No thanx...my trash can is full already. I already have Pitch Black's album so i already own the only good song on it anyway.
24. Thanx 4 clearing that up cuz i didn't notice that part of the commercial. I didn't get 2 watch it 2nite...which is good...cuz it wazn't on. The commerical waz actually really cool. It waz very early 90's meets now the way it waz put 2gether. I think it aired on VH-1 when i saw it.
