  1. Yeah, i waz happy they re-ran that episode.
  2. Yeah, i got that issue somewhere. I can't believe some of the stuff they left off but the list really isn't that bad.
  3. My opinion (so no one wig out) Nas - came out very promising. Since then he's learned how 2 survive by making alot of average music and a few good trax. He's new single SUX!!! Why would he turn back on his early fans by making some of the newer stuff he has?! Jay-Z - smart bizness man when it comes 2 his label and clothing line...awful flow and often boring lyrics Eminem - use 2 be a lyrical witty genious. His career has been on a downward spiral since 2000. Lyrics that used 2 be funny, complex and creative have turned in 2 annoying, repetative, and immature crap. I know he probably still has it in him but will he use it? Smart enuff 2 have a clothing line, label, and building a producing career...but it's 2 early 2 see if it's adding up 2 anything. 50 Cent - commercial rapper, often very phoney and never creative. G-Unit is the biggest joke since Junior M.A.F.I.A. and Harlem World. Music is garbage and clothing line is actually just regular Wal-Mart cloths with "G-Unit" printed on it. Nelly, Juvinile, Loon, Ja-Rule, Chingy, Trina, Remy, Lil' Scrappy ...why do these cats even exist?!? Back in the day, emcees came out making good music, staying true 2 themselves, all their songs sounded different and on top of that...they all had talent. 2 some people, that means nothing...but 4 those of us who were down with Hip-Hop back then, music waz just incredible back then. THANK GOD 4 JJ+FP, LL COOL J, RAKIM, BLACK EYED PEAS and all of the victems of the rap game who have fallen off thanx 2 the way TV and radio has turned their back on them.
  4. I couldn't believe this when i 1st read it. Am i the only one that is kinda disappointed that they are working on a trashy, cheezy project like this?!
  5. Supposedly, 2Pac is putting out a "Live" album 2day. I'm gonna pick it up either way but i waz wondering if anybody knew anything about it. The album cover i saw looked pretty boring which makes me think it's a crappy Deathrow album. Afenie and her camp usually put 2gether quality 2Pac stuff with what they have 2 work with, but Deathrow seems 2 only care about the money they can make off him by ruining his legacy with their garbage projects like the "Nu-Mixx Klazzixxx" remix album. I know their are some 2Pac fans here...so here's a heads up. If the album comes out, it'll be on sale for $10.99 at Circute City this week.
  6. De La Soul is one of Hip-Hop's best groups. If u've ever heard A Tribe Called Quest or The Jungle Brothers...their stuff is on the same level (they are a part of the same click Native Tongues). Their 1st 3 albums don't have explict lyric stickers. Their 4 dosen't either but it pretty much earned it. Their last 2 do have them and the cussing is borderline. It's not over done, but don't let that fool ya. U really should get their greatest hits album. That way u can get a taste of their old stuff and new stuff and see if u like it. I've seen them live and they put on a good show (just 2 turntables and 2 microphones...cuz their's 2 emcees...ha ha). They got lyrics 4 everybody tho.' They got Hip-Hop party joints, they have socially concious lyics and they got witty, comical stuff 2. They are one of the few true skool artists who keep pressin' on. If u are like me and don't alot of cussing, there are edited versions of their albums. It's funny u made this post cuz i just picked up De La Soul's Live At Tramps, NYC, 1996 CD 2nite which came out about 2 months ago. Here is what it says at the end of their show 2 give u a taste of where they are comin' from... "We want 2 thank all of y'all 4 not 4getting what Hip-Hop is. Y'all made that $#!+ 4 real 2nite...Everybody talkin' about 'keep it real'...this is real right here, alright? White, black, orange, purple, green, blue, yellow up in here, enjoying themselves and havin' a good time. Put that ignorant $#!+ outta here. We don't wanna duck from guns. We don't wanna call our women ho's. We don't wanna call our brothas 'n!gg@s.' Hip-Hop, 4 real, i-ight!! Ban the bull$#!+ and get down with this band, i-ight! Native Tongues, we outta here...peace!"
  7. I love every lyric of that song...he answers everything Canibus said and reminds him how corny that song waz using Mike Tyson on it (who can take anything Mike Tyson says seriously?!?). L.L. just rips the song and humiliates Canibus in every sense of the word. Not many songs are as ruthless as this one in my opinion.
  8. Will and J.L. run it i believe. Somewhere on my other computer i have the e-mail address of someone who waz high on the food chain of employees (how'd u like that job title discription...ha ha). Like Tim said, they havn't had much luck in the music department so i don't think they are focusing on it at all (other than puttin Will's project 2gether).
  9. Sup Trac!! I'm glad 2 see u found your way over here. U have no idea how surprised i waz 2 hear from u last week. Hope 2 see ya around from time 2 time. I know u'll have 2 visit again when u pick up the new album.
  10. One thing i think that is really cool about FP's (and JJ's) fanbase is that there are alot of guys and we are all from different ages and different places all over the world. When u go 2 other rappers' message boards, they tend 2 be mostly from the US or they tend 2 be between the ages of 13 and 18, or they tend 2 be almost all females. I think that shows that his/their music relates 2 us 4 real. While i don't really like Eminem or Jay-Z, i'll relate 2 a lil' bit of their stuff, but i don't feel any heart in their music. When i listen 2 FP's, i can releated 2 pretty much all of it and i can tell when he really put himself in2 a song. FP talks like i talk, he thinks like i think, he feels like i feel...know what i mean. There isn't 2 many other emcees/rappers out there who represent ME!! Can i get a witness?!? :shaketheroom:
  11. I don't like Jay-Z much either...u are fooling yourself if u are tyring 2 put him and Fresh Prince in the same category. Jay-Z's subject matter is very limited...FP's isn't. Jay's only been commerically in the game for 10 years...FP is approaching 20. Jay insults his listeners...FP respects nearly everyone. Jay' acts like a Hip-Hop/Rap has no history while FP reminds us that it dose and that he helped pioneer it.
  12. I don't think anybody here waz mixing that up.
  13. If FP and Eminem ever do battle...they should do it in the nude...Eminem would probably be laffed at so hard he wouldn't even have time 2 try and redeem himself with his lyrics.
  14. That pic is actually HUGE and nearly lifesize. I have the magazine that featuring that picture. It came out sometime between 1997 and 1999.
  15. Canibus' lyrics never really stuck me or my friends. In 1997/1998, we heard some of his stuff and it waz average 2 boring 4 us including "Second Round K.O." When we heard "The Ripper Stikes Back" nearly every other line left us laughing or reacting.
  16. "When To Stand Up (Go To Hell)" waz the only track that leaked. There's a line in it that finishes off saying something when Jeff + Will were still friends (like they stopped). The song's pretty avearage tho'...the stuff on The Magnificent is far better than that track. Eminem waz just getting big when they recorded the track but it waz b4 all the gimmicks of The Marshall Mathers LP kicked in. Remember, Jeff came Eminem a break by putting "Bonnie & Clyde '97" on his "The Vibe I'm On" mixtape a year b4 he blew up. Jeff worked with FP, King Britt, and De La Soul for his album on Columbia but they were so focused on making it kinda like Big Willie Style that after a few months, their deal feel thru'. That's when he started all over, making what became The Magnificent.
  17. Who notes Eminem as the "best rapper lyracist today"?!?! :eek4: Magazines don't say that and Hip-Hop heads don't say that. I've only every heart white teenagers say that who know nothing about real Hip-Hop (making their opinion irrelevant 2 me). And nobody takes him seriously either. He abused his power 2 hold a mic by saying ignorant stuff. Nobody takes anything he says 2 heart cuz they know he spent much of his career just dissing people and trying 2 make people mad at him as a pathetic gimmick 4 sales. Fresh Prince waz smart 2 not answer 2 him since Eminem didn't really attack him. I think that if his lyrics were more offensive than mocking, then FP would have retalitated and shown alot of people what he's capable of...making Eminem look foolish. U are living in a dream world if u think Eminem is amoungst the best out of all the emcees out there, especially if u think people take him seriously.
  18. Yeah, ever since his comeback in 1997, he's said that. But most people who have never heard him say that don't believe me when i tell them.
  19. I wore Starter gear back in the day...that brand used 2 be HUGE. I never did see the commercials but i do remember a hanging Starter display with Jazzy Jeff on it and asking 4 it...but never getting it. U can find Starter geat in Wal-Mart now. I got like 4 Starter shirts there last year and they still carry their stuff.
  20. I've been waiting for a Fresh Prince / Busta Rhymes calbo for YEARS!! I think they'd be a great combination 4 a hyped up party track (kinda like L.L.'s + Busta's "Starsky + Hutch"...that track is insane!!). I waz a fan of Leaders of The New School back in the day so maybe Busta should right those wrongs between them and do a posse cut: JJ+FP + L.O.N.S.
  21. I think the album is definitly worth getting despite the way Will experimented leaving some of us wanting more. I think the stand-out trax are... Act Like You Know Block Party How Da Beat Goes Give Me Tonite
  22. I didn't watch this clip...but i know that thru' out it u can see me. I'm really bright...blue floppy fisherman hat, bright green shirt and bright orange shorts...haha. When JJ+FP went in 2 "Summertime," it waz literally a dream come true. The 1st few seconds left me totally speechless and in shock. Remember at this waz the summer of 2002 and this waz one of the 1st times they performed it since 1991. During the summer of 2002 and now as he's performing, they are always doing "Summertime" but this taping/performance waz their 1st time doing it in YEARS. "Summertime" had been my favorite song of all time by my favorite group of all time so 2 see them do it in the summer of 2002 waz totally a dream come true. After my initial reaction of going in2 shock...i just went wild. When i saw Musiq the other day, my girlfriend say "remember when we saw Will and u nearly started crying when they did "Summertime?"
  23. I don't like Shyne at all. I just don't think he's any good as an artist and his wack rap on Usher's "Confessions Part III" remix ruined the song.
  24. Yeah, he rocked the glasses....ha ha. He would take them off 2 dry his face off and often had his eyes closed (but who dryes off their face with their eyes open...ha ha). I thought he waz trying 2 cover up the lazy eye but near the end he took them off while talking 2 the audience. It's only lazy once in awhile...ha ha. Who cares about that tho'....he's a modern musical savior and while i've loved his music for years, i realized just how much i've been underestimating him. He's is one a nicest and down 2 earth guys in the industry. I can't say anything bad about Musiq and i hope this tour is successfull resulting in more sales for Soulstar. He did perform his best songs tho'...he didn't nearly every track on a compilation CD i did by him.
  25. I think that if Jeff scraches on the track...he'll definitly be in the video. If he's not musically involved, i guess it'll depend on how the video is shot. Jeff scratched on "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" but he wazn't in the video. He waz on all the Willennium singles and waz in all the videos 2.
