Will is gonna take care of himself as he gets older and he looks younger than he is already. I'm sure he'll look the same but older when he gets older.
-
I saw it when it 1st came out on video. I waz kinda young and it didn't keep my attention thru' the whole thing. It hasn't been released on DVD here in the US. I'll get it when it comes out. I'm sure i'll like it alot more now that i'm older but it's not my kinda movie.
-
It's definitly Jill's time back out. It's been ages and the timing is perfect. I saw Fighting Temptations and i think u are talking about Angie Stone...not Jill Scott. Jill Scott is on the Kingdom Come soundtrack. I never saw that movie but maybe she has a cameo in it.

If i'm lucky enuff 2 access the board 2nite from the computer in my room, i'll post a list of all the non-album trax + remixes by JJ+FP...as a group and solo. It'll also contain al the trax with scratching and/or production by Jazzy Jeff.

Has anyone ever heard "Higher Baby"?
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
"Higher Baby" waz done stictly 4 the Barcelona Gold album...it wouldn't make sense on a JJ+FP album in my opinion. I have 2 copies of the Barcelona Gold: Coca-Cola Sampler #3 CD that contain the track. -

There's a difference between music being distributed thru' the internet and music being pirated. If music is just being pirated...it's just wrong. Think about it, one of us puts "Switch" up on this board, then all 200-some people registered at the board, most of them not being posters or even real fans just take the song and never intend on getting the album. The internet is much bigger than this message board so the song could be accessed by millions of people which otherwise could result in millions of sales. Think about how many places Born To Reign popped up on the internet 2 be downloaded. I know there are good sides 2 getting music out there, but they seem 2 be highly outweighed by the negative aspects of it.
-
If the song has hit radio or a video has been released, they probably will. If not, they'll probably play Gettin' Jiggy Wit It, Miami, or Freakin' It. Since there hasn't been anything heard commercially from FP in awhile, they might just play a song like "Shake Ya Tailfeather" since it waz a huge hit tied 2 Bad Boys 2.
-
I never saw it...i intended 2 but it didn't say in theaters 2 long. Some of my friends said it waz actually pretty good.
Didn't I see Xzibit in 8 Mile?? Mmmmmmmmmmmm Do I smell a hypocrite? :blah: :dink:
Yeah, but Xzibit didn't get paid 20 million 2 do it. I think they both have their points, Xzibit just dosen't know how 2 convey an idea without sounding ignorant. I myself don't like the whole internet music pirates who are just giving out music that people should be paying 4. What part of that dosen't sound like stealing. FP is right in seeing it as a way of getting exposure and promotion, but i think Xzibit is right in stressing that some people who just wanna do music are severly hurt by people who are trading and giving away music online. Don't side with FP just cuz he's are boy....i know i'm not the only person who can see the obvious.

Song Types In Wills New Album
JumpinJack AJ replied to liquidsg's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I think it'll be a new skool version of most of his 90's albums. There will be a more serious, life-oriented track on there, a party track or 2, and old skool and/or DJ record or 2...u know....your traditional multi-flavaed Hip-Hop album. -
Welcome 2 the board!! I know i come off kinda strong on my opinions...but most of us do on this board. I don't really talk about stuff that i don't check in 2 tho.' Not 2 get off topic but i waz a BIG fan of Eminem's when he came out. I thought he waz one of the most creative, witty emcees in the game (cuz he waz). But his 2nd album dipped in2 other things that i didn't care 4 as much. But the time The Eminem Show came out, i waz kinda sick of him. I did borrow the album from somebody tho' 2 give it a chance. He's dose have some skillz, but i don't think he uses them 2 much anymore. I try 2 give everything a chance and make my opinions from there...or stress that my opinions are based off whati have heard. I still can't agree that Eminem belongs anywhere in the top 10 emcees...20 for that matter. No disrespect. I'm hyped 2 see a new person posting about JJ+FP. This community is growing in a big way.
-
JJ+FP performed "Black Suits Comin'" and a medley of "Act Like You Know" and "I Can't Stop" (which sounds very good live). Don't 4get the interviews 2!! If u can eventually get all that stuff up, i know i speack 4 everyone when i say "THANX!"

Y'all won't believe this. I waz 13 when "Boom! Shake The Room" came out and i didn't get the single becuz i thought Code Red waz coming out shortly. My brother did get the single and i made my mom play it in the car. I learned "Boom!..." and "From Da South" with the quickness. However, when Code Red came out, i waz like "Where is 'From Da South'?!?!" I got a ride back 2 the mall as soon as i could 2 get the single so i could own it but they no longer had it. Months later my brother waz incredible nice and gave it 2 me...which waz a surprise cuz as i look back, i waz a jerk as an older brother back then. It wazn't until 1999 when i 1st started getting stuff on ebay when i finally got it on CD. I used 2 look thru' pawn shops all the time trying 2 find the CD version.
-
Me (and my friends) got the "I'm Looking For The One (To Be With Me" cassette single when it came out. We all loved "Get Hyped." It's a fun, free, old skool joint. We laffed at the silly lyrics and learned them quick so that we could just wild out when we played it (mostly in the car). When i went 2 get the CD single, it waz kinda hard 2 find. It took me like 5 months 2 find a copy of the CD single so i could have a proper version of the song. I think Will kinda put the song 2gether b4 recording it, but i dont' think it's a rehearsed kinda song. He's just going with the old skool party vibe.
-
That live version of "Brand New Funk" actually takes from "New Kids On The Block" because it waz recorded 1st. Word 2 waz released on CD, cassette, and vinyl. It's hard 2 find in all formats but CD is the rarest. I've seen maybe 4 of them online in the 5 years i've been ebaying.

Man, i havn't heard this since last summer. I gotta hear it again!! I didn't notice if that crazy "Boom! Shake The Room" cover waz posted...but if it isn't...please post it again.

Yeah, 1996 what a great hear of Hip-Hop and slightly mainstream R-N-B. Busta Rhymes and Nas were also doin' their thing. I just remember alot of good music comming out that year. Digital Underground dropped Future Rhythm (Oregeno Flow waz all over Yo! MTV Raps) and while the album only got some attention, it waz dope. That waz the last time Hip-Hop and R-N-B music really had that thick kinda production. Since then alot of stuf waz commercialized and production got thin and light-weight 4 ever the best of artists. "Stakes Is High" waz the stand out track of the summer or 1996 me tho. I taped that video and watched it over and over and over again. A few months later "Itzsoezeee (Hot)" dropped and the video waz hilarious. I actually got that De La Soul live album this week becuz i wanted 2 kinda relive the summer of 1996 (the show on it waz recorded in May 1996 while the album came out in June/July and i picked it up in early August cuz it waz the 1st time i saw it in stores. I'm getting their remix/rarity album soon and i can't wait 4 the new album this fall/winter.

a story that has rocked the tri-state area
JumpinJack AJ replied to sonic1988's topic in Caught in the Middle
I read about this. I have nothing against gay people at all. I know quite of few of them but i think this guy didn't need 2 share it with everyone. What's up with that. That only causes problems. He's a govener that nobody knows about or cares about (unless u live in Jersey). What waz the point of telling everyone he's gay and that he had an affiar with a guy while he's married with kids. He could have stepped down if that's what he wanted but i think this is one of the dumbest people ever....not cuz he's gay, but cuz he thinks people care and that he should share it with everyone when otherwise, we wouldn't know. Dumb people annoy me. -
Here's my personal reviews if it helps u at all. 2PAC: NU MIXX KLAXZZICS 2 OF AMERIKAZ MOST WANTED They took Snoop's vocals off and replaced them with Crooked I, Deathrow's main new artists who has average mic skillz and would probably suck as an artist lyrically. The beat is average...not bad but not good enuff 4 2Pac and it dosen't really fit the song the way it should. The vocals fit...just not the vibe it gives off. HOW DO YOU WANT IT The beat is kinda average but kinda empty. 2Pac's vocals are actually taken from the alternate version of "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" which are totally clean. This may be becuz i bought the edited version. I havn't heard the regular/explict version of this remix album. HAIL MARY This beat isn't bad, but again, it's not close 2 the level that the original production waz. LIFE GOES ON This is my favorite track off All Eyez On Me!! The production is pretty good and fits the vibe of the song. I'm very happy with this remix and since it waz done 2 my fav track...that says something. I expected 2 be really upset when hearing this one remixed but they pulled it off well. ALL EYEZ ON ME This one has boring, traditional commercial production. It's not awful...just boring. HEARTS OF MEN Interesting beat 4 this one. Different vibe 4 the song, but still pointless since it dosen't do what i remix should do 4 a song. TOSS IT UP Not a big difference on this remix. Standard new beat but not bad at all. HIT EM UP This beat isn't bad, but it dosen't take the song 2 that next level. This has the alternate cleaner lryics also...but it may be cuz i got the edited version. A lazy label like Deathrow wouldn't usually put the alternate vocal track 2 a remix just 4 and edited version of an album but maybe they wanted 2 give the song new life. Maybe someone with the regular version of this album can confirm which vocal track they used (explict or cleaner). NEVER HAD A FRIEND LIKE ME I waz so happy they remixed this track also. It's more of that traditinal 2Pac rather than his Deathrow stuff. The beat is one of the better ones on this album. AMBITIONZ AZ A RIDAH The strings on this remix are good, but the beat just isn't as thick as it should be. The idea of a remix album is a good idea, but Deathrow owns the music from an era when 2Pac simply didn't care 2 much put out his best music. Not long after being on Deathrow, he hated it and recorded all that material just 2 put out albums and get off the label by fulfilling his contract. Think about his position tho'...if Suge waz gonna pay his bail and get him outta jail, it seems reasonable 2 sign 2 his label since he knew him and did that huge favor. I remember being mad when i heard that newz but i could see where he waz coming from. Anyways, on 2 the life album. 2PAC: LIVE LIVE MEDLEY 2Pac is screaming his vocals over a live band which dosen't do it for me. I think it's just 2 hard 2 take alot of his beats and turn them in 2 good live band kinda trax. He opens with "California Love" then goes in2 "So Many Tears." "So Many Tears" is a classic and powerful song...but 2Pac kinda yells it and the band ruins the vibe of the song. Why would he mix a mainstream track like "California Love" and an introspective track like "So Many Tears" i'll never know. INTRO This is just a pointless :13 second interlude of some annoying lady introducing him. AMBITIONZ AS A RIDAH This is an ill album track, but the live version is crappy. The intro girls talking about 2Pac is way 2 long and really annoying...AND HAS NOTHING 2 DO WITH THE SONG. The music level on the audio is just a lil' 2 low, i think. At least he's flowing over an actual beat and not a band anymore. Oh yeah, this and following trax were recorded seperate from the Live Medley. 2Pac resorts 2 his yelling kinda flow which sux and he pretty much never did on his albums. SO MANY TEARS It's the best song he did live on this album. It only lasts a minute and a half tho.' I'm amazed that he did this song since his Deathrow era performances seem 2 stay away from his previous stuff. TROUBLESOME He starts this one off by calling out Nas. The Outlawz and his hypemen aka his friends with microphones really get annoying on this one. They finish the lines of most of 2Pac's lyrics. They also sing the "na na na...na na na...na na na...na na na...na na bye bye, all u n!gg@s die" part and it's so bad that u wonder if they are tone def. 2pac is still yelling and a lil' sloppy...but not nearly as sloppy as everyone else on stage. HIT EM UP Ha ha...yep, they did this on. What's annoying about this one is that The Outlawz and other fellaz keep finishing 2Pac's lines...but after 2Pac's opening verse, everyone on stage raps all the lyrics 2 the rest of the song 2gether. Just a bunch of guys yelling and sucking at performing live. TATTOO TEARS 2Pac relaxes a lil' bit on this one and isn't yelling as much. Not as bad as the other trax on this album. Probably cuz it's a slower laidback song. HEARTZ OF MEN How did this mess up end up on the album. It's the tech person MESSING UP. They start playing "Hit Em Up" while nobody on stage saying anything. 1st off, why did they say it waz "Heartz of Men" and why would they put it on the album as a 7 second track?!?! Deathrow is so stupid. ALL ABOUT U The first 38 seconds of this track is the tech person messing up. They skip from track 2 track off of All Eyez On Me until they get 2 "All About U." This performance is better and laidback also. However, u wish they would just turn of the mics of The Outlawz and who ever else had mics. NEVER CALL U B!+CH AGAIN Is another mid-tempo joint where 2Pac flows instead of yells. HOW DO U WANT IT This actually has Jodeci on stage with him. The into is just Jo Jo talking 2 the crowd, then Jodeci starts singing "Freek-N-U" acappella. Almost 2 minutes in 2 the track, the "How Do U Want It" beat drops. The audio of the music is way 2 low tho.' The vocals aren't where they should be. I have a feeling this waz taking from a different show. It's edited so that it flows, but i think it waz spiced that way. 2 OF AMERIKAZ MOST WANTED The audio of the beat is way 2 low again. 2Pac's flow is energic and pretty good. Snoop Dogg is also live in this one. They really just need 2 make the music louder on this one. CALIFORNIA LOVE The audio for this one isn't 2 incredible either. The beat is louder, but the music sounds so flat. Vocals are a lil' 2 low also. Dr. Dre isn't there...so it's basically 2Pac's verse, than a bunch of adlibing. During All Eyez On Me, 2pac didn't really tour as much...most of his shows were at clubs where the shows are really stripped down which i think contributed 2 level of the performances. Unless a live event is being recorded 4 a professional recording, it's not 2 sound 2 incredible...so that kinda the case. Most of it is just above bootleg level. Both of these albums are something every 2Pac fan should check out. They are Deathrow products so the quality level isn't the best and the people putting the projects 2gether don't really respect his legacy...they just want some money. However, if u really love 2Pac, get these albums. The remix album is a new way 2 hear old stuff. The live album is just a good reminder of him. Since some places have it priced under $10, it's definitly worth getting. I thought both of these projects were crap when they 1st came out...but as time went on, i appriciated them 4 what they are cuz i really love 2Pac's music. If the price is right, get 'em. If u aren't a huge 2Pac fan, don't bother with this stuff at all. But i would urge anyone 2 check his Greatest Hits album which gives listeners a good idea of what the man waz about. His album Me Against The World is one of the best albums of all time which everyone should give a chance.

I highly suggest SKEE LO. He's a 20-something emcee from the west coast. He's got that laidback, straight Hip-Hop west coast Hip-Hop vibe. He is highly active in his community and a very positive guy all around. He's got comical lyrics, serious lyrics, and an over all feel-good vibe. He never cusses in his music and all of his production is great and never less than meeting the standard of good music. "I Wish" - 1995. This album waz huge and nominated for 2 Grammys. SINGLES: I Wish, Top of The Strairs, Superman, and Holdin' On (Import). "I Cant' Stop" - 2000/2001. This album came out after years of struggling with finding a label. Nobody really knows about this album or has it. It's not as good as his 1st...but that dosen't make it bad at all. It's one of my favorite albums since the 2000's. Make sure u get the 2001 version tho' (with 2 extra trax). One of the trax is a remix of "At The Mall"...the best song on the album which isn't as good as the original....but why not get more bang 4 your buck. Also, it has the song "Just Like That" which wazn't on the 2000 version which is the 2nd best track recorded 4 the album. SINGLES: At The Mall, Bounce Back. Both of these albums are kinda hard 2 find. Since I Wish came out in 1995, it's kinda hard 2 find in stores but some still carry it. I Can't Stop wazn't printed in huge numbers so the internet is your best bet. It took me about a year 2 find the 2001 version (i had the 2000 version already). Another emcee u might wanna consider is YOUNG MC. Of coure everybody knows about the classic from 1989 "Bust A Move" but not many people know (or care) about his later work. 1997's "Return of The 1 Hit Wonder" is a good solid album. He's released 2 or 3 albums since then. I own Engage The Enzyme from 2002 which is good, but there are parts of the album where the production is lacking. But real Hip-Hop fans don't rely stictly on production. Lyrics and talent are much more important. I didn't get his other current album only cuz it's hard 2 find but i'll get it sometime soon. I would suggest getting "Return of The 1 Hit Wonder" and if u like it...get his other stuff. U can usually find that album MAD cheap cuz it waz his last album 2 be printed in big numbers. I can suggest more if u don't mind if the emcees cuss a lil' bit or if their talent and lyrics out-weigh their cussing.

I think every once in awhile they try 2 put 2gether a Ghostbusters 3 movie but Bill Murray holds it up. Never heard about this Will rumor tho.' I know that he did want 2 be Robin in Batman Forever tho.'
-
I got that movie years ago looking 4 the Fresh Prince cameo but never actually watched it. I did watch half of it in fast forward but didn't see Will. Another fan of FP from the old OLD Sony board said it waz playing at their school (for reasons i don't know why) and they went 2 the bathroom and supposedly missed it. It may be an FP Urban Legend...who knows. I'll try 2 watch it sometime soon and confirm if Will actually has a cameo in it or not. It seems like the kinda movie u'd find in the Wal-Mart $5.50 bin...but it wazn't really successful and didn't look very entertaining so it probably never will be released on DVD.
Sesame Street still airs? :ideagone:
Yeah, Sesame Street still airs. Tatyana Ali waz on it a few years ago. She's actually on a soundtrack 2 an Elmo movie but i never got it.
-
When i saw this news...it waz bittersweet. Sure i wanna hear a new FP track on the soundtrack, but at the same time, i like keeping his music away from his movies. It seems the best way 2 go 2 me. However, actually taking Will off the soundtrack AND putting a D12 track on it...that's a huge DOWNGRADE. I get the feeling that FP backed away from the soundtrack tho'. I really don't think Dreamworks took him off it. I have nothing that supports that, i just think it waz his choice.
