Since Will is no longer on Columbia and he seems much more serious about music now, i think it's safe 2 say no soundtrack songs will pop up on the album. Movie references should remain minimal in the music 2 me...i know what he's doing on the big screen and i could care less. When i hear the music, i wanna hear what's on his mind.

I think the lyrics 2 all his soundtrack songs are clever and witty. It's just hard 2 think of them that way since they are heavily tied 2 the movies he's done. I love the soundtrack songs when they are on the radio...but once i see them on his albums, i hate them.

Don't get 2 excited...this could be just like when Will and the family were definitly gonna live in Africa 4 a few years. Note 2 FP, if u wanna keep something a secret...don't share it with the press. :roll:

Not ever song calls 4 the same flow. Imagin FP using his normal energetic voice and flow on "Just Kickin' It"...it just wouldn't make sense.

I'm hoping VH-1 airs their Behind The Music special on him cuz the way he turned his life aroudn waz really impressive 2 me. 2 many young kids are runnin' around thinkin' they knew about Rick James from Dave Chappelle's skits and stuff...and that's embarrasing 2 me and i doubt Rick himself wants 2 bronzed in2 people's minds that way. James was free on bail when the second assault occurred in 1992 in James' hotel room. He served more than two years in Folsom Prison. In 1997 he released a new album, but a year later he suffered a stroke while performing at Denver's Mammoth Events Center, derailing a comeback tour. I saw Musiq live last nite. It waz great...here's how the nite went (4 those who care)... Me and my girlfriend got in line an hour b4 the doors opened. We were like the 5th people in line. About a half hour later the line waz wrapping around the corner and i thought 2 myself "gee....i think me and my girlfriend are the only white people here." :roll: We finally get 2 go in as the check IDs (not checking 4 cameras or bootleging devices...i'll keep that in mind 4 future shows at this place). We had 2 walk thru' the bar/grill area 2 get 2 the stage where waz weird. Me and the 1st few people in line got lost as we 1st almost went in2 the VIP section...then later 2 the kitchen. We just kinda laffed and kept looking around and were finally directed thru' the backdoor. After handing the tickets and being taken out the backdoor, i had the strange feeling i waz being ripped off...but that wazn't the case. We go inside the "theater" and it's a medium sized standing room/stage/bar and we were right next 2 the stage. A local DJ named Sparkles (who waz pretty cute) waz spinning (and occaisionally showing off). Poet Black Ice, who is the 1st poet signed 2 Def Jam and the 1st poet givin a Hip-Hop Quotable in The Source, waz the host 4 the nite. He brought out a group called The Collective feat. Chynah Blac which is kinda like a soul meets aggressive rock kinda group. They were preetty good. Chynah Blac herself can whale on the mic. The band waz dope 2. Then Black Ice came back and recited some stuff which waz real good. As i waz watching, Will's grandmother's point waz totally proven. In 2 of his peices, he waz reciting some powerful stuff but the cussing laced thru' out it just didn't make him sound as smart as this cat actually waz. Still dope tho'. In between all this, DJ Sparkles waz spinning and 1st this white girl and asian girl came out in these K-Mart rack dresses with looks that matched them. They danced 2 like 2 songs and they just kinda sucked. It waz like "why are they doing this." It just didn't make any sense and their dancing didn't fit the music at all. I know alot of professionaly trained girls that dance and even if i didnt know them, i would have known that these girl were just jokes. The 2nd set came out after The Collective and it waz 2 black girls who were 100 times better. The one waz actually insanely fine and really really good. I don't know what her motivation waz...but she danced right in front of me the whole time. If left me tempted 2 say 2 my girlfriend "i think we should see other people" :roll: JUST PLAYIN.' After that they had some people hand out posters and t-shirts (i made my girlfriend get a poster). Then the time had come. Musiq's band came out (a keyboard, bass player, guitar player, drummer, DJ, and 2 HUGE background singers. The got everyone hyped...the soul music's littlest man comes running out. The crowd went wild as he went in2 "Soulstar." Musiq had on a red Phillies hat cocked up and 2 the side, trademark shades, a blue Phillies jersey, white kicks and the coolest jeans i'd ever seen. The jeans were crazy with beltloops and tags down by the ankle, a back pocket on the front, pokets upside down on the bag legs. They looked like the biggest malfunction a jean-making machine ever had (i gotta find a pair of these). He later shed the jersey and went on with just a white shirt...later getting rid of that 4 a red wife beater. He performed all the essentials...Halfcrazy, Dontchange, Previouscats, Marygoround, Love, whoknows and finished up with Justfriends (Sunny) and Forthenight. Here performed ALOT more than that...but it waz basically all his singles/videos and the best non-single trax off his albums. It waz just a good time. No crazy light efx, no background dancers...just good R-N-B/Soul music and a tight vibe. Since the crowd waz 21 and up, there waz just a good positive vibe going on the whole nite. During one of the songs, there waz a few dramatic music bits where Musiq waz doing all these crazy poses which waz hilarious. He talked 2 the crowd a decent bit, did some goofy dances, and gave all the ladies love by reaching out 2 them when they reached 4 him. He didn't take any breaks by letting the band just play or anything...he pushed on singing, sweating, (at one point it actually dripped on me...ha ha) and just rockin' a great show. I knew Musiq waz a talented guy, but seeing him live is believing the hype. He can hit these insane high notes and knows how 2 show the crowd a good time. I got everything i expected and more. It's kinda crazy that he just started touring with this album (it waz his 1st show 4 his latest album) since it came out in December. But with this touring, it'll boost his album sales at least a lil' bit.

AJ is just my nickname from my 1st and middle name. "JumpinJack" is just fun 2 say. When i waz really little, i used 2 dance around and i always called it doing jumping jacks. My family would always make fun of my and correct me. When i finally got my own personal access 2 the internet in my late teens i just used it as my screenname stemming from my using it as an artist name when i'd write and rap alot. There are/were 2 many TV and radio personalities with the name AJ so i had 2 tack something on the front.

Daedalus, thanx 4 posting those quotes cuz now i know what we are talking about now. Those people are insane and none of them have any power in this country so i don't see any kinda twisted revolution on the rise at all. And there is definitly no connection beween them and Kanye's song. That's just silly. As a Christian, i think those people quoted above are jokes and infact are NOT really Christians tho' they think they might be. Spiritualism is one of those things where there are legit followers and then there are the people who are so wrapped up in the media and making themselves look good that they 4get everything that it's about...if they were ever spiritual in the 1st place.

:roll: Thanx 4 posting that. What in Nelly's mind allows him 2 think he talk mess about anybody in the game, much less someone like KRS-One. He's gotta be one of the dumbest people with a label deal.

I'm interested in everything Will dose...but this sitcom producing thing goes at the bottom of that list. I won't care about it until the show finally airs.

When i saw Musiq last nite...the DJ played that song not once by twice. Of all the songs they played, "Golden" got the most crowd reaction. Hearing it played in person and not over the computer made me fall in love with the song. Hearing music over the computer sucks all the soul out of it.

I don't think his voice had anything 2 do with. For the past 4 years (at that point) it waz lower. I think the fact that flash-in-the-pan gangsta rap artists were getting all the attention waz the main problem (just like with And In This Corner...). On top of that, people didn't see JJ+FP in their face musically as much as they used 2. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air had been on the air 4 so long and Will's acting started taking off so that makes some people find it hard 2 accept his skillz in music. Imagin if Code Red waz huge tho'...it would have probably kept alot of trash from getting record deals and we people would have had a great mid-90's album from them around 1996.

I 4get where the interview waz from but i KNOW i read it (and didn't hear it or watch it on TV). I think Code Red SOUNDS likes his most confident stuff...but inside his head i guess he waz just wondering if he could keep doing this.

HA!!! What a coincedence. The new 213 video "Groupie Luv" just came on. Not a bad song at all. Fun bouncey kinda joint. Video is pretty funny 2. It amazing that about 10 years after they were runnin' what waz on the charts, they FINALLY release a full album. It waz these cats that kept hardcore Hip-Hop going while gangsta trash started coming out like crazy. These guys ain't scared 2 smile and dance around like fools...that's why they outlasted all the other people thrown in that gangsta rap category.

2day i've been listening 2 alot of A Touch of Jazz stuff and Philly artists (Kenny Lattimore, Jill Scott, Dwele, Floetry) and most Musiq cuz i'm seeing perform live in a few hours!!

"Regulate" waz huge. It blazed thru' the summer. Warren G + Nate Dogg have a chemistry kinda like JJ+FP...they just go 2gether tho' they can stand on their own. "This DJ" waz another classic single, followed by "Do You See" and "So Many Ways" from the Bad Boys soundtrack (original version is on his album). In 1999, Nate Dogg + Warren G dropped "Nobody Dose It Better" off the Woo soundtrack (yeah, the movie Jada did in 1998). I'm kinda interested in the new 213 album...but i'm thinkin' their new stuff wont' be as good as their old stuff. Warren G's music isn't the straight Hip-Hop i usually vibe with, but his stuff has always had that foundation and he just put it in2 that G-Funk style.

The only people offended by the song would be non-Christians who aren't confident in their own beliefes. If they aren't Christians and they are comfortable and totally confident in what they believe in, then they would just ignore the song. Only people who don't know what they believe in and people who wanna knock Christianity would have anything negative 2 say about the song. I don't what u mean by "Christian extremism" tho'.

"Boom! Shake The Room" waz a standard hit in the US, but it waz huge all over the world. "I'm Looking For The One (To Be With Me)" waz never supported by TV or radio and neither waz "I Wanna Rock." JJ+FP did spots on TV (interviews and performances) but it never seemed 2 be enuff. The media waz so caught up with Dr. Dre, Snoop Doggy Dogg, Ice Cube and so on that they didn't give straight Hip-Hop a fair chance. "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Can't Wait To Be With You" were released overseas but i don't think any of the other singles generated any following overseas. I think Code Red is right their on the level of Homebase and He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper. It's JJ+FP for the mid-90's. It's JJ+FP at their most relaxed. They had the party joint (Boom!), the feel good joint (I'm Looking For The One), the DJ/rapper cut (I Wanna Rock), the story-telling song (Code Red) and the rest of just JJ+FP of the time. Will himself says the album didn't do so well cuz he wazn't lyrically as confident as he waz on past albums (probably due 2 the rise of gangsta rap, wondering if he waz relevant anymore) which produced a weak run 4 the album.

I grew up pretty determined 2 keep things positive. I learned from my friends mistakes rather than making a whole lot myself. I hardly got in any fightes or experimented with any substances. As i think back on it, alot of that probably came from having role models like JJ+FP, LL, Kid 'N Play, MC Hammer, etc...cuz they were all positive and didn't talk about that stuff, and if they did, it waz almost always in a positive way shunning it. I can only imagin young kids coming up now listening 2 Ludacris, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, and so on. All they talk about is sex, drugs, alcohol, and violence. Most of the time it's glorifying that stuff so these kids are coming up thinking all this stuff is good and that it's something they should get involved in. Not alot of young people are strong enuff 2 be themselves so they are copying off of these losers and risking screwing up the rest of their lives cuz of a ignorant rap record. After that thought, i'm thankful for the positive, smart, intellegent people that i grew up listening 2. They probably reinforced me staying on the right track.

Most of his beats are genious. They have samples but don't rely on them like most songs. He just made music that felt good 2 chill 2 and ride 2 (which makes me really wish we heard the trax he did with Will for Big Willie Style). On thing that i like the most about Warren G is how he reminsces in his music alot. Since not all of us come from the same place, not everyone can relate 2 his stuff...but when he talks about back in the day...man, it just takes me there...back 2 the 80's.

I think "Jesus Walks" is a great song...i just don't like the produciton that much. It's good, just not what i like. It's a powerful song tho' and it's definitly a change from what usually gets played on the radio. I don't think Jadakiss' "Why" is fake...but i think it's forced. I admire him 4 tackling topics in a song that actually matter (unlike much of his music)...but 2 me he comes off as trying 2 make a powerful song....trying 2 make the song deep when it should come natural. Not a bad song, it's just that after u hear so many raps from him that don't mean anything, it's hard 2 adjust 2 a song that says something.
