  2. The next time Nelly thinks about recording another song...he should put that Band-Aid over his mouth.
  3. Yeah, i never paid attention 2 what shoe's his waz wearing. Air Jordans were the shoes 2 have in the 90's and i remember Will wearing them from time 2 time in the early and mid-90's. Some of u might remember the line in Wild Wild West when they are in the flying thing Gordon created and Jim (Will) asks him what he'll call it and his said "I waz thinking...Air Gordon."
  4. Will never rapped on the TV show on purpose. I read an interview awhile ago where he talked about never using his success in music as a crutch 4 his acting. It waz probably one of the smartest things he ever did. If he waz rapping on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, he would have gotten stuck in a career circle where the only acting he would have done would have been related 2 rap or hood flicks (like Silkk The Shocker, Ja-Rule and lots of others. Will has paved the way 4 other hard working emcees like L.L. Cool J, Queen Latifah, 2Pac, and DMX 2 break out of that circle where they would only be looked at as rappers who act and be respected as actors in general. Most rappers use their music as their only way of getting in2 acting and that's why their "acting careers" are a joke. Will waz smart and kept his rapping and acting seperate. After he waz respected as an actor, he know it waz safe 2 record a song like "Men In Black." I do think the references 2 his music career were funny but it waz very smart of him not 2 rap on the show. Look at him now, he's one of the biggest megastars in the world now!!
  5. Yeah, Colulmbia really should have released a Will Smith "Greatest Hits" DVD. Boy You Knock Me Out, Freakin' It, Nod Ya Head (The Remix), and 1,000 Kisses are gonna be rare and hard 2 find now. They didn't need 2 put alot of work in 2 it (like the CD)...they coulda just put it out 4 us fans. About those Big Willie Style unreleased trax...i'm beginning 2 think that "Lean Left Lean Right" and "Round And Round" were just typos from CDnow.com and not trax that just didn't make the album. I do think it waz important 2 pick the album up tho.' After that one Sony PR said Will waz washed up, sales of this album couldn't hurt. However, Columbia would have benifited from it more than Will. I still think buying it is a good act of support and a sign of apprication 4 Will. I'm glad that everyone so far likes my tracklisting. Someone pass the word 2 Columbia that they should re-release it. My tracklisting with an accompanying DVD. Since he didn't do 2 many videos, there would be plenty of room for interviews that Columbia had of Will and the commercials they made 4 his albums.
  6. The sad thing is, it wouldn't have taken any more effort 2 at least put 2gether the tracklisting. Screw the artwork and promotion, they could have at least put a better tracklisting on it. I couldn't help getting it tho.' Just 2 have something new waz kinda nice. It's also priced really low (about $10 - $12) so it dosen't exactly hurt your budget. I waz kinda happy 2 have "1,000 Kisses" without the talking at the end 2. Helps make those mixtape CDs flow better.
  7. A Touch of Jazz is one of the leading under dogs of the Hip-Hop and R-N-B scene. While Jeff welcomes success, he never seems 2 really make the company huge. Since they have a timeless, down 2 earth sensibility which means they'd never play themselves out like No Limit or Bad Boy did. I'd love 2 see them make an album that waz intended 4 a mainstream audience just 2 put that name out here and 2 make some good music with taltented artists that would shine along side ATOJ. If u could get ATOJ 2 work with about 15 R-N-B artists 4 a compilation album 2 make them huge, who would u have them work with. Feel free 2 throw in a guest rapper here or there...but not somebody like Ja-Rule who they'd never work with. 1. Jill Scott 2. Avant 3. Tatyana Ali feat. Fresh Prince 4. Musiq 5. Vivan Green 6. Destiny's Child 7. Brian McKnight + Kelly Price 8. Tamia 9. Boyz II Men feat. L.L. Cool J 10. En Vogue 11. Jon B + Babyface feat. Common Sense 12. Ashanti 13. Glenn Lewis feat. The Roots 14. Usher 15. Mary J. Blige
  8. Will Smith "Greatest Hits" is one weak greatest hits project. Since Will and Columbia didn't wanna have anything 2 do with each other, they rushed it out as a last attempt 2 make money off his time there and 2 fulfill his contract. The poor artwork waz bad enuff but the disappointing tracklisting waz the most tragic part of it. If u were working at Columbia and were trying 2 put 2gether the Will Smith "Greatest Hits" album, what would the tracklisting be? Here's mine... Will Smith "Greatest Hits" 1. Big Willie Style Megamix 2. Just Cruisin' (Video Version) - w/ breakdown + scratches 3. Gettin' Jiggy Wit It (Original Version) - w/ Jeff's additional samples 4. Just The Two of Us (Rodney Jerkins Remix) feat. Brian McKnight 5. Miami (Video Mix) - Album Version blending in2 Miami Mix feat. Miami Sound Machine 6. (Boy) You Knock Me Out (Big Willie Style Mix - Extended) w/ Tatyana Ali 7. Will 2K (Video Version) - w/ old skool breakdown in middle of song 8. So Fresh (with intro from music video) 9. Freakin' It 10. 1,000 Kisses (Video Version) - w/ old skool breakdown 11. Holla Back (Bonus Track) 12. Men In Black feat. Coko 13. Wild Wild West feat. Drul Hill + Kool Moe Dee 14. Nod Ya Head (The Remix) 15. Gettin' Jiggy Wit It (DJ Scratch Remix) 16. Just The Two of Us I think this would have been a proper greatest hits album becuz it's loaded with all the modern singles and flows (i think the JJ+FP trax just didn't let the album flow and they wern't necessary since Jive put 2gether a great JJ+FP "Greatest Hits album). The movie songs were clumped 2gether so they wouldn't mess with the flow of real music. Also, but putting the video versions, it would make the hardcore fans happy 2 have alternate versions of trax they already have and the remixes, megamix, and "Holla" back would have served as great bonuses 2 all of his fans. I would have also had a totally fresh album cover and had a megamix created 2 promote the album on the radio and with a music video 4 it.
  9. Well, FP is more than a rapper tho...he's also one of the biggest movie stars in the world, he's a business man, a husband and father. I think Tim can answer this 4 ya tho.' :poke:
  10. Yeah, i'm not real good at sigs either. Mine are incredibly boring. I've just never messed around with making them. It's important 2 list this website somewhere tho' cuz people aren't gonna be able 2 check out any newz on them if they don't have a place 2 go. Right now, it's hard enuff 4 me 2 post here (cuz i hate spending 2 much time online when it's not winter) but if i am visiting message boards, i bug one of u 2 make me a sig. I have no problem rocking a sig as long as i have imput in it (cuz i'm so picky).
  11. Jeff has checked out the site. That's how Tim got the hook up. When Jeff peeped it out, he realized that he found a site put 2gether but a real fan. When i 1st talked 2 Jeff i told him about the site. Recently i havn't talked 2 him...i think he's just busy and hasn't gotten online.
  12. I for one don't like the spamming idea. Think about it, when B2K fans came up on Will's Sony board posting stuff. We didn't wanna hear it at all. However, i always visited other boards and just participated in their conversations without dissing their fav artist or spamming that FP is one of the best people in Hip-Hop history. Think about it, would we give a B2K fan a chance back then? No way!! Other message boards aren't gonna wanna hear what we say or respect what we think is good if we don't establish ourselves as indiviuals who deserve 2 voice their opinion...in other words, support FP in places where it may be hard 2 help him gain respect from people who only saw the Jiggy side of him that Columbia created. Spamming isn't the answer. Post and be active on other message boards and let the signature do the talking. If u want people 2 respect your opinion, then present yourself in a respectable way. Sorry if i came off way 2 serious about this. It's just that i'm passionate about helping get the word out there and being a part of what makes this next album HUGE. It's time 2 get the word out there that there is good Hip-Hop being made that needs 2 be replacing alot of garbage that is on the radio currently.
  13. About the girls in Nelly's videos...they are starting 2 slip drastically. The only thing u used 2 be able 2 count on in a rap video when the artist had no talent waz that they would at least choose girls that looked good 2 help distract u from how bad the song waz. But these days, their standards are lowering. They got girls with ugly faces, bad make-up, unflattering clothing (if any), and often just a lil' 2 much around the waste or booty (and this is coming from a fella who appriciates a booty that is out there (move over Sir Mix-Alot). Nelly seems 2 have hit rock bottom tho' cuz all of his music just sounds like the same few songs re-recorded. While i never liked him as an artist, i did like Ride Wit Me, Number 1, Dillema, and Shake Ya Tailfeather as songs. It seems like he can't even pump out a song that isn't just a rip-off of a past hit.
  14. Those sigs look great!!! However, this isn't the place 2 promote FP's new album. Where do u guys plan on advertising?
  15. Nelly's 1st single off his next album, "Flap Your Wings" waz some commercial trash. Awful track!! Not as bad as "Hot In Herre"...but pretty darn bad. Anyways, "Dillema" featuring Kelly Rowland from the summer of 2002 is a dope song (regardless the fact that it's Nelly's song). Well, since "Flap Your Wings" couldn't flap itself off the ground, Nelly has released a single that is a weak attempt 2 be "Dillema" part 2. It has Jahiem on the hook...smart move, but that dosen't make your song legit. The production isn't as good as "Dillema" but it's pretty good...just emptier. Nelly even has the same singing, whispery flow. It's also a love joint. I'm very happy 2 not hear him whining on the track, and even tho' the song ain't so bad...he should be ashamed that he so sloppily recreated a past it for more commercial sucess. Again, not a bad song, but i thought some of u should keep your eye open 4 it 2 get a small laugh while u nod ya head.
  16. It's rerunning Tuesday (2morrow) at 9:30!! :switch:
  17. I got mine for free from www.twothumbsup.com (or something like that). Half of them sound nothing like the song (for monophonic rings) but occasionaly u'll find a good one. I currently have ringstone by FP, TLC, Tatyana Ali, MC Hammer, and Salt-N-Pepa on my phone.
  18. Ha ha...yeah!!! I'm hyped about this soundtrack. I like they are mixing up the musical genres instead of making it strictly Rap and/or R-N-B. I think the multi-flavaed sound with makes this a great and really successful soundtrack. It's cool that MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This" made it on the soundtrack. What's the deal with all the attention this song is getting again. 1st Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle used it in the movie (and soundtrack...the best song on it), then some club music remixer remixed it for 2003, and now it's gonna add a dash of old skool flava 2 the album. It seems like Hammer may have a fair chance at a comeback with the attention he got on Surreal Life, then starting his own clothing line, then starting 2 work on a TV show, hosting Dance Fever, hosting part of VH'1 "I Love The 90's" and now talks of a new album called Full Blast.
  19. FP has that classic flow style. He can handle any kinda beat whether it's just basically him riding the beat or if he races the rhymes. He has a crisp clear voice and unlike most new guys, he dosn't rely on changing his voice or overdoing an accent. 4 example...all those dirty south rappers overdo their accents cuz it's popular. Eminem and Nelly change their voices in alot of their songs. Then their are rappers like 50 Cent and Mase who simply don't even try 2 talk clearly in their rhymes. They sound like babies mumbling in2 a microphone except they have deeper voices. FP dosen't rely on that...he just dose his thing and it's perfect everytime.
  20. My current cellphone is monophonic so all the 'Will Smith' ringtones sound stupid. "Nod Ya Head" is the only one that sounds good...which is the one i have on it right now.
  21. :eek4: Please tell me somebody is or waz feelin' these guys!!!
  22. Jeff already confirmed awhile ago that they worked on some stuff and i'm sure that with all the time they've been spending 2gether recently, they are working on even more trax. I don't see how they could work 2gether and not have the trax make the album. If u look at the past work on Will's solo albums, the trax with Jeff seem 2 be the best and who would purposely leave their best work off their album.
  23. Man, i have been listening 2 Lord Tariq + Peter Gunz 1998 album "Make It Reign" alot lately. I got this album when it dropped in the spring/summer of 1998 and blasted it thru' out the summertime. I think these cats are so cool and i can't believe they've not come back yet. They aren't squeaky clean at all, but their production which waz often radio-friendly, but not made 4 the mainstream made every track dope. They could hit u with a gutter track, then a party track, then a spiritual track, and so on. They covered all bases and their lyrics were clever, witty, and something way above the standard of what waz getting played on the radio at the time (Jay-Z, Mase, Puffy). Of course everyone remembers the monster hit "Deja Vu (Uptown Baby)." That waz the 1st Hip-Hop track representing an emcee's homeland since the East coast / West Coast aka Bad Boy / Deathrow war. It made it cool (and safe) 2 rep where u come from again. They backed it with the next single "We Will Ball." Their success lead 2 cameos on Tatyana Ali's "Daydreamin,'" Mariah Carey's "My All (Stay Awhile Remix)", and spots on albums from Pete Rock, Sporty Theivz and so on. They started out from 2 different crews, Tariq waz a part of the group Money Boss Playas and his style waz more street and gutter. Peter Gunz of the Gun Runnerz waz a bit more commercial and radio friendly. Their chemistry was insane. I waz actually a fan of there's in 1996 from their stuff on Shaquille O'Neal's "Can't Stop The Reign" album and Whodini's So So Def-produced "Six" album. They later went on 2 perform with Will and even record with him however it waz never relased. They laid vocals down 4 a So So Def Remix of "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" but they wern't put on the track. On of the import singles actually credits them with additional vocals on the track, but they aren't actually on the song. After all the cameos, platnium sales, and not 2 mention GOOD MUSIC, i can't believe they havn't come back. They were on a Sony label so issues with their label isn't a surprise if that's the case. They worked on solo projects but remained close (i remember Peter Gunz cussing on a local radio station...making sure they played Tariq's solo joint..ha ha). 4 those of u who are lookin' 2 check in2 something new/old. Check out Lord Tariq + Peter Gunz. Here's a list of trax that liked the most... Deja Vu (Uptown Baby) We Will Ball Be My Lady Make It Reign Keep On My Time To Go
  24. I'll have 2 see this be putting judgment on it. It could be good...it could be embarassing. I think the person who wrote this article is just ignorant and writing about things they know nothing off. VH-1 is usually pretty good about putting 2gether stuff like this (better than MTV). However, if they think Eminem conqured America...then it's gonna be stupid. The only Eminem conqured waz the trailor parks. Don't get me wrong, he dose have talent (when he chooses 2 use it) and some Hip-Hop fans like him, but 90% of his fanbase is teenage white kids who don't know much about Hip-Hop culture and any kind of real struggle in life.
