1. Man, i have been listening 2 Lord Tariq + Peter Gunz 1998 album "Make It Reign" alot lately. I got this album when it dropped in the spring/summer of 1998 and blasted it thru' out the summertime. I think these cats are so cool and i can't believe they've not come back yet. They aren't squeaky clean at all, but their production which waz often radio-friendly, but not made 4 the mainstream made every track dope. They could hit u with a gutter track, then a party track, then a spiritual track, and so on. They covered all bases and their lyrics were clever, witty, and something way above the standard of what waz getting played on the radio at the time (Jay-Z, Mase, Puffy). Of course everyone remembers the monster hit "Deja Vu (Uptown Baby)." That waz the 1st Hip-Hop track representing an emcee's homeland since the East coast / West Coast aka Bad Boy / Deathrow war. It made it cool (and safe) 2 rep where u come from again. They backed it with the next single "We Will Ball." Their success lead 2 cameos on Tatyana Ali's "Daydreamin,'" Mariah Carey's "My All (Stay Awhile Remix)", and spots on albums from Pete Rock, Sporty Theivz and so on. They started out from 2 different crews, Tariq waz a part of the group Money Boss Playas and his style waz more street and gutter. Peter Gunz of the Gun Runnerz waz a bit more commercial and radio friendly. Their chemistry was insane. I waz actually a fan of there's in 1996 from their stuff on Shaquille O'Neal's "Can't Stop The Reign" album and Whodini's So So Def-produced "Six" album. They later went on 2 perform with Will and even record with him however it waz never relased. They laid vocals down 4 a So So Def Remix of "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" but they wern't put on the track. On of the import singles actually credits them with additional vocals on the track, but they aren't actually on the song. After all the cameos, platnium sales, and not 2 mention GOOD MUSIC, i can't believe they havn't come back. They were on a Sony label so issues with their label isn't a surprise if that's the case. They worked on solo projects but remained close (i remember Peter Gunz cussing on a local radio station...making sure they played Tariq's solo joint..ha ha). 4 those of u who are lookin' 2 check in2 something new/old. Check out Lord Tariq + Peter Gunz. Here's a list of trax that liked the most... Deja Vu (Uptown Baby) We Will Ball Be My Lady Make It Reign Keep On My Time To Go
2. I'll have 2 see this be putting judgment on it. It could be good...it could be embarassing. I think the person who wrote this article is just ignorant and writing about things they know nothing off. VH-1 is usually pretty good about putting 2gether stuff like this (better than MTV). However, if they think Eminem conqured America...then it's gonna be stupid. The only Eminem conqured waz the trailor parks. Don't get me wrong, he dose have talent (when he chooses 2 use it) and some Hip-Hop fans like him, but 90% of his fanbase is teenage white kids who don't know much about Hip-Hop culture and any kind of real struggle in life.
3. 2 me, "Potnas" is the best track Will has done since his comeback. "The Rain" is it's only compitition. "Just Cruisin,'" "Holla Back," "Act Like You Know" are not 2 far behind in my opinion. "Potnas" is just irresistible. Even if i am sick with a soar throat i have 2 rap along 2 it. Who can't relate 2 that track?!
4. Good things come 2 those who wait...we got some good stuff on the way 4 sure!!
5.
I am.........unhappy.
 But u must admit...JJ+FP is worth the trouble.
6. This board is set up so that all u have 2 do is type out a link...starting with "www" and ending with the ".com" or ".net" or whatever, and the board automatically turns it in2 a link.
7. www.ebay.com www.half.com www.cdnow.com (Now amazon) www.gemm.com Just make sure that u always check the feedback of the seller, the shipping price that'll be tacked on 2 the price of the CD, and the condition of the item.
8. Thanx!! And thanx 4 posting that link, Jim. I'm on the same page as u...if u found something, post the link.
9. Yep!! Later in the movie they have an Aretha Franklin song playing.
10. I think the site is a great idea. Once u've been linked 2 all the other Will Smith and JJ+FP sites, u are guarenteed 2 get some hits. U could have a page devote 2 just pictures of him/them live which wouldn't be hard 2 do at all. U could also have a page for reviews of his/their shows. I might even be able 2 hook u up with a snippet of live bootlegs of a few performances.
11. Xscape...i burned a Greatest Hits CD...man, i miss those girls.
12. I can't believe this...i waz the one who made this post and i freakin' missed it.
13. I just wanted 2 say...that pic is hilarious!! :bowrofl:
14. Another true skool playa is entering the game really soon. BET is airing Access Granted 2nite (Wed) at 9:30. This documents the shooting of his new video. LL also has his facial hair shaved off. Looks like FP and LL are clinging on 2 youth...ha ha....and doing it well. Get ready 4 some good music.
15. 2day (Wednesday) marks about 5 weeks!! Gee....imagin that, Will isn't on Columbia...and the 1st single isn't a stupid movie song. Looks like someone has total control over their career again.
16. Kool Moe Dee is one of the most intellegent minds in Hip-Hop. He's also extreemly under-rated (and i can say that by only owning his Greatest Hits album and his 1st album). I would love 2 see him clown 2day's record-selling fools and have all these wannabe thugs seeing the project and be like "hey, they are making fun of my hero." Kool Moe Dee is good friends with Will and he has given him props in the past. I can't wait 2 see the whole thing...but defintly whenever Will is stealing the spotlight. I think this could be a good way 2 promote talented overlooked emcees and show just how igornant many popular rappers are.
17. 2day i waz FP, Jagged Edge, and a mixtape i made featuring recent stuff from Biz Markie, Skee-Lo, Nick Cannon, Coolio, FP, and MC Hammer.
18. That sounds really cool....and i trust Kool Moe Dee's judgment (even tho' i don't expect 2 agree on every point).
19. I just hope Lil' Jon dosen't work on the album. Unless he's no where near a microphone AND the beat is good.
