1. It's not the recording part that will suck, it's about being precise about it all. I want the music 2 start within the first 2 seconds of the track playing and ending when the music has totally faded. Since u have 2 go by ear when burning stuff from vinyl 2 CD, my picky standards will probably have me recording many of them multiple times. I STILL havn't gotten the instrumental version of The Magnificent on CD becuz the trax pick up right where the last left off...so there's no really good way 2 set when the trax start and stop.
2. Exactly...i'm gonna try 2 rent it sometime soon...of if my friend owns it, i'll just borrow it.
3.
if Will and Jeff will come back toghether 4 a full disc they will just look like 2 old guys that try 2 remake they great career and i'm not sure it will work... I think that just 3 or 4 tracks from all the disc need 2 b with Jeff not more...
U could only say something like that if u weren't down with JJ+FP when they were doin' their thing. JJ+FP would be welcomed back by alot of people. They don't need 2 come back and try 2 re-create what they once have. When u are the kinda group who made the kinda impact they did, people are just happy 2 have u back and don't expect u 2 do the same things...they just expect the same quality in new skool/old skool fashion. If JJ+FP came back, i highly doubt they'd be trying 2 do totally mainstream stuff at all. It would be JJ+FP for the current times and 4 the fans, not 4 the charts. I think that they'd still get mainstream success tho' without really trying. Limiting the trax Jeff dose is a stupid idea 2 me...think about the best songs on BWS and Willennium. It's All Good, Potnas, So Fresh, Pump Me Up, etc were the best trax on the album....Jeff only brings those albums 2 higher levels.
4. I havn't even gotten the track on CD yet...i'm crazy busy. I need 2 go out and get more blank CDs in the 1st place. What i wanna do is properly clean all my vinyl and put it all on CD once and for all, non-album trax, back 2 back, and in order. This is the summer 4 it 2 happen. From there i might make a snippet CD featuring 40 seconds to and minute of each b-side, remix, instrumental, etc and send it 2 Tim just so he can steam them once in awhile so everyone can get a taste of 'em.
5. Yeah, the cheezy bit with Puffy in the video just reminded me of the terribly cheezy skits in the "Mo Money Mo Problems" video. Sometimes cheezy is okay tho.' I'm glad u see what i mean tho'...it's fun stuff...not the depressing phoney crap dominating the charts now.
6. THANX!! I assume they'll start advertising this soon if it's 4 real.
7. FP isn't exactly a mixtape-type artist right now. I think that's just a silly idea unless the music is that perfect and people gave it a chance. I think donating a track 2 a popular mixtape DJ would be a great idea...but not a 'mixtape album.' Will isn't 2 keen on the idea of having music bootlegged so this looks like something that would never happen. I agree that Will needs 2 do something with this music tho.' Alot of it isn't gonna make the album, he should put out a single or EP with stuff on it or make a special version of the album available soon.
8. I'm not doubting his comeback at all. If he wants the new album 2 be large, i'm pretty sure he can do that easily if he dedicates himself 2 it.
9. I don't think many people think Will sucks. The only people that say that are usually haters who haven't even heard the music which makes their opinion irrelevant. What i do think is that people think Will's music is lighty weight which is understandable by young people who've only been exposed 2 his time on Columbia. That's not a proper repersentation 2 his music which is why i think he's been so busy working on music 4 himself and not worrying about a label so much. I'd love 2 see FP come out with a Summertime-styled single where nobody could diss it, which would allow them 2 look more in2 his music, growing his fanbase, helping other emcees like him come out, taking-out those wack suckas getting all the attention now, and helping Hip-Hop take a big step towards making alot more good music again.
10.
Don't hate the player, hate the game!
I waz just playin'...don't trip. Of all people, i definitly don't have room 2 talk when it comes 2 mixing retro styles with current stuff. Sometimes i look like i came out of an early 90's music video.
11. I'm still gonna check it out. Jeff dosen't exactly pull as much attention as those names listed above when it comes 2 movies. Other than Hip-Hop fans, people only know of Jeff from FP of Bel-Air.
12. Hmmmm....pretty general post if u ask me. Next tyme u should try 2 actually say something when u make a post.
13.
I was doing a rap show one time and I had 'Da Brakes' shaved into the back if my head!!
Waz this 1990??
14. Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying i look at Mase the way i look at De La, KRS, and so on. I'm just talking about the commercial rappers out there, Mase is bringing a different vibe from everyone else. I'm so frustrated with the trash 50, Ja, Luda, D12, Chingy, and Jay-Z are bringing...i just hate it with a passion. Mase isn't tryna be hard, treatening, or worshiping stupid stuff like money and jewelry. It's funny how the commercial scene can suck so bad that i welcome back somebody that i disliked so much. Someone tell these cats that money, jewelry, hoes, drugs are all poison and that putting them in their music is just childish and stupid. Somebody tell them that it's cool 2 smile and be yourself in music...those pansys are so phoney that their friends and family are probably laffing at them cuz they know they aren't what they try 2 be in music videos.
15. Yeah, make sure u catch it. It's a good movie and Will defintly has his moments in his scenes.
16. I knew he wazn't gonna be on TRL...i just knew it. I thought i knew what time TRL waz on but apparently i don't. I checked and it wazn't on but i wazn't upset cuz i just had a very strong feeling he wazn't gonna be on.
17. I don't like 2 label thing 'black' and 'white' and Will's never based his career off satisfying one artists. I don't care who Will works with as long as they are creative, talented people that Will has chemistry with and shares a similar vision with. I wouldn't say ALI waz for 'black' audiences...it's waz a movie about an American icon. When i saw the movie on Christmas when it opened, the audience waz multi-colored. In fact, i knew more white people who saw the movie that night than i did black people...and i know all kindsa of people.
18. I hope he's on it in the beginning (which seems unlikely)...cuz i gotta be somewhere at 6 and have 2 leave early 2 get there. :violin:
19. Anybody who is a regular at this board and dosen't believe that the album is ready 2 drop whenever Will wants it 2 is a fool. Not only has Will talked about it, but this board has a few people with inside sources that are legit. And movies mean nothing...he's dropped a movie nearly ever year 4 almost a decade and he did 3 albums while on Columbia.
20. I just saw the music video for "Welcome Back" by Mase. Of course i used 2 hate this cat and think he waz the wackest of all rappers back in the mid/late 90's. However, with the rappers who have controlled the top of the charts in 2000's, i'm even welcoming him back. His lifestyle change, which seems 2 have effected his music lyrically and when it comes 2 subject matter is the main reason i'm glad 2 see him back. Just 2 know he's not gonna be cussing and talking about living the Playboy life style the way he used 2 just sounds kinda fresh 2 me. I was surprised 2 see him on Bad Boy and with Puffy in the video...but i'm not really mad at that either as long as Puffy dosen't put a bunch of Bad Boy artists on his album or try 2 make it like his past albums. His flow sounds the same, and the music video features all of the same bad dance moves he's always done...but it's actually kinda refreshing. I'll give the album a listen when it comes out and if it's decent, i'll pick this one up. Ja, Luda, Chingy, D12, 50 + G-A-Y Unit and all them other guys can do what they want, but i'll back Mase this time around.
21. Here's the problem with this article. The guy writing it is a movie critic...which means that i don't care what he thinks or says. I don't know anything about the story line of those novels and don't really care...i just wanna see another good movie from my favorite emcee.
22. Thanx 4 the newz!! I love reading about celebirties who do this stuff...especially when it's my favorite one.
23. I think i may have suggested it b4...but he isn't really the message board type.
24. If u visit any TLC message board, it's filled with upset people about this even tho' there's no legit newz on the topic. If TLC says they aren't gonna continue as a duo...they definitly aren't gonna continue as a trio with a replacement.
25. On an un-related note, i just saw a commercial for Hershey's Swoops and they re-recorded "Whoomp! There It Is" to Swoop! There It Is...why do they do this 2 Hip-Hop. :bang:
