  1. That was fun. I especially laughed hard when he said "still have it...can't fit it." I loved that they used a random cut like "Code Red" to play in the background. Thanx for sharing this.
  2. Nothing too crazy here...just a good fan-made megamix that lasts about half an hour. I haven't tried the download link but I will by tomorrow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmVQ7hRXKzw https://www.facebook.com/Djdarkkentremixes
  3. Pretty crazy...I like it. I didn't see a download link for it. Am I missing it?

  5. Hmmmm....I was never a fan of Mystical, especially once he signed with No Limit. I like that he's doing something fresh...kinda. Channeling James Brown and using a live band is nothing new, it's just not something Drake/Wayne/Nicki are doing. Lyrically it's dull and vocals he's usually pretty annoying. I give it one start for being something that doesn't sound like what's on the radio.
  6. From AOL Music Blog Janet Jackson Engaged? Singer Set to Tie the Knot in 2013 (REPORT) Posted on Dec 26th 2012 1:01PM by Brittany Galla Kristina Bumphrey, AP Janet Jackson is reportedly ready to tie the knot! According to Us Weekly, Janet Jackson got engaged to her businessman Wissam Al Mana earlier this year and is "eager" to plan a spring wedding. "[He] gave her a huge, expensive ring," another source told the magazine. "She's afraid it will get lost, so she keeps it locked up." The couple hope to get married in Qatar, where Mana is from. "He is flying in all of Janet's friends and family on private jets," the source continues. "He wants to get a top chef to create a custom menu." If the 2013 wedding takes place, it'll be the "All For You" singer's third marriage. And Janet reportedly hopes to have kids with Mana. "She wants kids," an insider told Us. "If she can't have them, she will adopt."
  7. My only problem with his music is that he's content with sounding like he's rapping in his sleep. I'm find with his lyrics. I like about half of his beats. The deal breaker is his energy-lacking flow for me. Not hating, just wishing he had a fire in him when it came to his delivery.

Avant to Release Seventh Studio Album "Face the Music" on February 5 Singersroom 12/17/2012 3:27:21 PM Comments (0) 2 Avant's Profile R&B veteran Avant will release his seventh studio album, Face The Music, on February 5, 2013 via Capitol/EMI-distributed independent label Mo-B Entertainment. The set is led by the first single "You & I," a long-awaited follow up duet with R&B songstress Keke Wyatt. Watch the music Video for "You & I" On the 12-tracks Face The Music, Avant draws inspiration from R&B legends like Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Luther Vandross and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, blending traditional sounds with new age R&B. “It’s a taste of new school and old school,” states Avant. “You might hear a piece of, say, Stevie Wonder or Babyface, then I spin right back around and offer up some new age R&B. 11. I didn't watch the trailer until just now. I think it looks interesting and I'll see it in theaters. I rarely get more than moderately excited about the movies until right before they come out.
  12. MATT CUSSON - The Christmas Song It's Christmas Time (2012) bigted 2014 edit: I recently got into this guy. I love his stuff.
  13. I just came across this article from last month. Any huge Heavy D fans probably knows all/most of this. But I figured I'd share... 8 COOL THINGS YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT HEAVY D http://globalgrind.com/music/heavy-d-things-you-might-not-know-about-legend-photos-list
  14. I agree that Overbook used to have a particular standard and mission for what they are doing. This kind of show is irrelevant to that.
  15. I wouldn't call it rubbish. It's just the kinda show almost nobody on this board will wanna watch. As long as the show is respected within its industry, then I have no problem with it. They struggled with the sitcom world so it looks like they are trying something new. Rihanna has a track record of having both great and awful style. My only objection is that with an inconsistent track record for style and for music, it makes me wonder if its her passion or if she was approached because she's a big name and she's not ready to take on acting.
  16. It seems like death is all around. I had to put my dog to sleep unexpectedly on Friday. She was perfectly fine two days before but there were a lot of health issues that were unearthed just over 24 hours later. I was fortunate to spend a good bit of the evening with her but the sting is bad. Invested my heart into her more than anything else in this world. I'm truly in shock, numb, and lost after this. It's amazing how how pets can impact your life. Last night one of my friends from high school passed away. She was my age; married with three kids. She was fighting a health issue that doctors couldn't diagnose. Now her family is grieving her loss. Different paths in life kept us from seeing each other the past 10 years but this, too, stings. There actually quite a lot going on for me right now but I don't want to highjack this thread and make it all about me. I just ask that other prayer souljas lift up my family as we deal with the loss of my dog, Holly, and for the family and friends of Tanya. Thanks in advance.
  17. MANDISA - Waiting For Tomorrow What If We Were Real (2011) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plFHiSWeOHI
  18. These interviews were really good. It looks like maybe she's done with the drama related to the show. Hopefully she just needed the projects that she worked on as a release for the bitterness of what happened. She is right about television lacking in variety. She is right about age and race discrimination. The things she said about FPofBA were honest and appropriate and to the point. I'm happy for her and hope that he show is successful.
  19. Just think, the next year he'd have a hit song. He always talked about being heavy in the Philly Hip-Hop party scene.
  20. TLC - Diggin' On You (Untouchables Remix) Diggin' On You (CD Single) (1995)
  21. I figured with the new album about 2 drop from one of Hip-Hop's legends, it'd be best to start a new topic. LL's 'Authentic Hip-Hop" drops FEBRUARY 12TH! Here's the lyric video, which has been widely panned by fans due to it's watered down sound. I'm personally not a fan of the tired beat, weak chorus and silly female vocals. Even his rhymes come off rather weak, though I'm not completely against the topic of the song. LL's response is that the song is straight comedy. After less than 2 weeks of "Ratchet" dropping and being panned, he put out the YouTube video for "Take It" featuring Joe. This song pretty much put the album in redemption mode quickly. Classic flow, dope lyrics, flawless beat, and Joe smoothing the whole thing over. The song will be available for download this week! The tracklisting for the album is: 1. Something About U (FTW) 2. Where Ya At (BOSS) 3. Take It Featuring Joe 4. Closer Featuring Monica 5. Too Late 6. New Love 7. Dream With Me 8. Girl So Bad 9. Ratchet 10. Bartender Please 11. Bath Salt 12. Getting Paper 13. 22. Time 2 bump this post back up... KURTIS BLOW - Christmas Rappin' (1979)
  23. I feel that the artist making the song and the subject matter is what makes it good. Run-DMC's "Christmas In Hollis" is classic. No Christmas is complete without it in my opinion. I would put JJ+FP's "Family Christmas" and Kurtis Blow's "Christmas Rappin'" behind that joint. Ludacris' "Ludacrismas" is just silly and I have problem with that. Kanye's "Christmas In Harlem" is pretty wack in my opinion. Like I said above, I love the beat and chorus, but the artists/subject matter is awful.
  24. I partially agree. I don't think that a Christmas Hip-Hop song reaches for any serious or emotional depth. I look at is a way to sprinkle the season with something lighthearted and fun. Believe it or not, I actually kinda like the Ludacris song. I kind of wish he focused on R-N-B/Soul and Pop music mostly but I'm still enjoying it.
