50 Cent Autism Tweets: Holly Robinson Peete Writes Letter To Rapper In Response To Offensive Statements Posted: 07/05/2012 2:00 pm Updated: 07/05/2012 2:00 pm 50 Cent has found himself in hot water. The rapper, who has a rather colorful Twitter presence -- and 6.8 million followers -- recently made statements that offended people with autism and parents of kids with autism. Given that new data shows one in 88 American kids are on the autism spectrum, that's a very large community to ostracize. The ugly tweets were in response to an eager fan who wrote to 50: "Release the album or get shot again." The rapper allegedly tweeted back, "yeah just saw your picture fool you look autistic." And, he didn't stop there. "I dont want no special ed kids on my time line follow some body else," he posted later. Unsurprisingly, the twitterverse was horrified. Actress and autism activist Holly Robinson Peete, took to her own website to write an open letter to 50 Cent expressing her disappointment with his actions. Peete asked questions and presented the facts: Do you even know what autism is? And what exactly does “autistic” look like? Do you know how wildly prevalent autism is? 1 in 88 have it. That’s 1 in 54 boys. Families suffer a social stigma you will never know. It is a financial and emotional drain for millions... And then, she showed 50 what autism really looks like -- her 13-year-old son Rodney. He is in special ed. He loves rap music and is a HUGE fan of yours. He’s a tremendous kid. He has to deal with so much trying to fit in. This isn’t helping. At the very least, Peete requested that 50 delete his insulting tweets. He has obliged, but many parents in the special needs community aren't satisfied. One mother, Miz Kp, whose 4-year-old son is on the autism spectrum, is waiting for a real apology. "In addition to giving an apology, 50 Cent needs to learn more about autism and the families affected by it. Lack of exposure can also breed ignorance," she wrote on her blog, Sailing Autistic Seas. Many other autism bloggers have chimed in. Jeannette, aka Autism Mama, wrote "autism is known as the invisible disability," and then posted several photos of kids on the spectrum. Babble writer, Joslyn Gray, who has two children with autism reposted a video she made in April (for Autism Awareness Month) in response to the controversy. In real life, the video says, those with autism don't necessarily "look" like Rain Man or Forrest Gump -- that's only what movies would have you believe. In reality, as evidenced by her 3-minute photo montage, kids with autism look like any other kid: happy, smiley and adorable. Some parents on Twitter have suggested boycotting 50 Cent's products and music. But Phil Evans, a 25-year-old with Asperger Syndrome thinks the rapper's misstep should be used as a lesson -- "Think before you talk." On his blog My Autistic Life, Evans wrote: "Offending those who have autism may not have been intentional but when thoughts are released into such a public space, always consider what is being said when people could be affected by it."

LL Cool J Talks Working On New Album
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I think Exit 13 was his weakest album when it came to it's sound. The production/sound of the album was all over the place. It's not that I minded that so much, it was that half of it wasn't very good. The subject matter was mostly good and so were the lyrics. There were a few moments that came across as to simple or common for LL. I'm hoping/assuming the next album will be more on point. -
I like the confidence he has but I hated that beat. I'm with Brakes, "Give It To Em" is his best yet. I think the very end of the video is hilarious.

This is definitely a beautiful song. I saw this online a few days ago and fell in love with it. It's one of those insanely personal songs for the artist that the listener can make personal to themselves. She's got a beautiful voice that can back up her quirkiness. She's artsy and a strong artist way beyond her years.

I'd have to disagree. First off, he's a great singer...and his voice sounds great even though this is a YouTube video. He dances with about 40% the intensity of MJ, but he's got showman ship and the crowd is loving it. He could hate that the FPofBA has defined his career but he embraces, has fun, and pleases the people.

I just love the fun beat with the sound effects buried in it. Just hearing Jazzy sample "bite it" has a nostalgic feeling that takes me back to the 80's. The video is done in low budget 80's JJ+FP form with the art work, the passing of the steering wheel, the look of the car, etc. Toss a little bit of breaking and an FPofBA shirt. Songs like this aren't made any more and are a nod to JJ+FP original formula. I can't convert anyone who isn't feeling it, but maybe give it a listen in a couple of days.

JODECI - Good Luv The Show, The After-Party, The Hotel (1995) I've always loved this song. The whole album just takes me back to a really good place. They have recorded over 200 songs in the last few years and they are finally starting to piece and album together and plan a tour! I wanted to post the article but it was during the time the board was down.

Other than FP and Tom being rich movie stars, I don't see them as similar. He said he did not practice Scientology. He's spoken of God and his Christian beliefs. FP is genuine in interviews and gives encourages people. He gels with nearly everyone he meets because he likes people and isn't socially awkward. He's approachable and the vast majority of people respect him. Can we say all of those things about Tom Cruise? Tom Cruise comes across as condescending sometimes. As I see it, he believes he's better than a lot of people and too good for certain events/people/etc. He's awkward in interviews and on the red carpet, as if if it's something he's forced to do. He seems much more "untouchable" because of those qualities. Also, the level of respect he gets hasn't been what it was in the 80's and the first half of the 90's. My point is not to trash the guy. I'm merely stating facts that I believe to be not too argumentative. And like Schnazz said, this is a discussion on a message board. I'm not writing articles and posting YouTube videos for the sake of trashing him. I'd like to see him be a personality that people gravitate to. I'd like to see him find success in his career. Not saying he should believe what I believe, but I'd like to see him have faith in something that isn't ridiculous. In short, I wish good things for him like I wish them for anyone and everyone. I'm just saying how I observe things from my opinion.

THIS SONG IS DOPE!! DJ Jazzy Jeff collaborated with BriMarie on this fun, fresh joint. I haven't heard a song like this in awhile. It's just a fun, fresh, silly, song about being a broke college song. The beat is dope and produced by former A Touch of Jazz producers Carvin + Ivan. I have nothing else 2 say...just check the song... Better yet, FREE DOWNLOAD!! http://www.mediafire.com/?clwq77dg1zz9zvx

I saw the move for a 2nd time in theaters tonight (over a month later). Since it's been so long, I had forgotten most of the movie. I can honestly say that I enjoyed it more this time than I did the 1st time around. I found more humor in FP's "throw away" lines. I enjoyed the young K character much more and their relationship. I appreciated the aliens much more this time around also. All in all, the only things that I remember being critical about was Zed's memorial. K's speech was too stupid to be funny. That whole moment of the movie is just awkward. I also thought the bit in the elevator where he tries to find out the date was unfunny. Otherwise, it's incredibly clever and lots of fun. Men In Black shows no signs of slowing down. Let's see another movie in 5 years.

I STILL haven't downloaded it...but I'm looking forward to it. I will this week. -
I have a problem with Scientology simply because it's a man made religion that has nothing to do with faith. Yet, it's not a reality. I have to be fair and say that it was years ago when I read about it and I don't remember much of what I read, but my thoughts were "this is idiotic." "Religion" is a bad word these days, but when we look a different faiths, they are things you believe in and adjust your life to. They are based in history, or what is hoped to be accurate history, and you adjust your life accordingly. However, if you are treating something that man made as if it's something more than someone's idea, that's just weird to me. It's nothing but a cult. Back to Tom Cruise, I do think he's kind of obnoxious. I've seen a few interviews and for every moment he's been a nice guy who's serious about acting, there's a moment where he's a diva, a snob, and over-dramatic jerk who's living in his own reality. Like I said before, I haven't followed Katie's career at all, but I strongly believe that Tom is a controlling diva who kept her from working and from being successful. I have a feeling she'll really begin to blossom. On a final note, I just want to say that I HATE how the media reports on broken marriages. They blow these things up and and leach on them. They ignore that fact that these celebrities are going through a very painful time and they are violently rubbing salt in the wound. I think it's gross that they do it and that people follow it the way they do.

I just can't say I like Tom. I've seen him in some interviews and he seems to be an incredibly annoying person. Plus, the whole scientology thing..I don't question it when people have a faith or belief system. I just have a problem when it's a man-made system. That's just weird to me. I can honestly say I only remember ever seeing two Tom Cruise movies...Top Gun and Tropic Thunder (lol). I've also never followed Katie Holmes' movies. She seems to have the personality of carboard when I see her on TV. I have the feeling it Tom may have been a part of that. He seems like a controling crybaby. I think I've only ever seen her in Mad Money...which I only saw because Queen Latifah was in it. If Tom was controlling her career a bit, as it seems, it'll be interesting to see where she goes from here.

I'm sorry things didn't work out for them. I can't say I'm a fan of either but Tom Cruise has become more unlikable over the years. Hope they can make things work after marriage when it comes to children and whatnot.

I'd like to see him but with my current schedule and money situation, it's not going to happen. R. KELLY - Beautiful In This Mirror (Deluxe Edition) Write Me Back (2012)
