  1. Noooo! That's one of my records!! :lolsign:
  2. I think you should get rid of all the games that MaxFly's got the high score in! :damnyou:
  3. I'm none-too-good with the art and such, but a cool concept might be to put a business card image on it, with "Da Brakes" and "Business As Usual" for the employee name and company name, with interesting info filling out the rest of it... (job title: "MC" address: the address for the UK stock exchange, etc...)
  4. Valentines Day? That's... interesting
  5. Wow AJ, that's harsh and really insulting to people who think differently than you do.
  6. Yes. What's your greatest aspiration?
  7. Hizzah! Send that man to prison for.... well, untill Bush pardons him, but he should at least see a day or two!
  8. So you think that people, fundamentally, can not be happy?
  9. "Naw, but the laws of physics can create life." But how were the laws of physics created? they'd need a creator  ..you can then throw the argument back at me by saying who created the creator, and then who created the creator of the creator and so on :lolsign: , but that argument sort of, I dont know how to put in words, doesn't seem right to me because it would go on and on into infinity you know what i mean? At some point would their not have had to be an original God/creaor figure whatever you want to call him/it :chuks: I agree, the universe and how it works does seem to need a creator, I was just trying to point out that something besides a creator can make life itself. (the evolution v ID thread was bleeding over to this one : ) But if you want to argue that God/the creator always is and always was, why can't the laws of the universe always have existed? Or perhaps, if we where ever to find out what caused the existance of the universe, then it would be perfectly clear how everything came about... Perhaps the universe was created on a bet, to see if it could be done. Maybe the universe was designed for the express purpose of creating intelligence. Researchers now would like to create artificial intelligence, among other reasons, to evolve something more intelligent than people so that it can answer questions we can't. Maybe our universe is the same way. Maybe there's even bigger questions out there to be answered, and our creators are limited, so they created our universe to specifically grow us, so we can evolve beyond them. So you don't think environment doesn't play a part in the creation of a persons psyche? I don;t understand exactly what you mean there.I beleive that environment plays some part in a persons psyche, of course it would, but isen't that what differentiates humans from lower mammals, we don't just have insticinctive reactions.. What I was getting at was that you say that there's always been wars, implying that people evil people aren't avoidable. But, depending on the part environment plays, perhaps we could fix that. If we could get our environment right (that is, people raised properly, what ever that would mean), then wouldn't that help reduce war, even eliminate it? Wouldn't that lead to a utopian society? (if other things where done as well, such as limitless goods, and other, currently fanciful, things)
  10. I agree with ya, but something you may want to consider. Religion plays a very important roll in peoples lives. I gives them comfort, a reason for going on, something to believe in, and hope. Do you really want to try to take these things away from people, just so that they can stop believing in a "lie" ?
  11. But some of the most effective murderers in history have been incredibly smart and strong, while many simple, weak people have lead good lives. Naw, but the laws of physics can create life. Why? So you don't think environment doesn't play a part in the creation of a persons psyche? So you think that certain people can only be happy by causing grief in others, that people only measure happiness in relation to sadness, or both? What in basic instincts do people have that mean they have to cause pain in others? Or is it a basic need for more? (I have a reverse Socratic Method happening tonight, I'm hoping to learn something myself by asking a lot of questions :) This forum is in desperate need of a spell check! :lolsign: :lolsign:
  12. Oh, I can't wait for that... Come on Cheney! (yea, it's a long shot, but a guy can dream) And elevating Rice to VP for a few years would be great, even if she is a bit... off.
  13. The difference is that there's experiments that show that certain evolutionary methods are possible, there's no experiments that show that the ID method is possible. What is the "quite a bit of evidence" that contradicts evolution?
  14. I would feel bad for her, but I read somewhere that she thinks Bush is a brilliant man, so....
  15. His success as an actor in TV and movies opened a lot of doors. His music turned on a lot of people to rap and helped broaden what it means to be a rapper.
  16. But is it because it's human nature to be evil, or because evil and good are changing terms to reflect a range in behavior fitting to the times?
  17. Some questions... Is a eutopian world possible? Is a rose beautiful because people like them, or do people like them because they're beautiful? If we start living for hundreds, or thousands of years, will marriage still be applicable? Is there any such thing as free will?
  18. I am concerned by your phrasing of that question, it implies that it makes sense to have bought Ashlee Simpson records at one point in the past. :)
  19. You're getting very Clintonesque with your word choice: "point to the possibility." What exactly do you mean by that? I am saying that there is a mountain of scientific evidence for evolution. I am also saying there is no scientific evidence for an intelligent designer.
  20. The essence of being human is interacting with other humans. The mind is a myth. The brain is only a device that runs simulations and makes decisions based on these simulations. The key to making it seem like a "mind" is that the decision making process is complex enough to not be completely predictable and logical enough to not be completely random. But perhaps it's beginning was 20 billion years ago...
  21. If there's a Tell Me Why video, then I'll be very happy with it.
  22. Excellent.... Evolution and intelligent design are both out, Schnazzyism is in!
  23. What evidence do you have refuting the fact that I am the one responsible? It must be incorrect, because I am the one responsible! :lolsign:
