I gotta disagree with this. Anti-homosexuality is very prevelent, so what am I supposed to think when someone says "That's gay!" ? A large number of people (probably vast majority) who say "That's gay!" actually think that it's bad to be gay. So when I hear a derogatory phrase against homosexuality, I rightfully think that the person making that derogatory statement is in the wrong and anti-homosexuality.

It's good to see Kanye making that statement. It's messed up how it's now ok to trash homosexuality. It always kills me how being anti-gay is fine, but being a sexist, racist, etc... is wrong. It's all wrong. As for "That's gay!" That pisses me to no end. It's bigotry, no two ways about it. It doesn't matter that it's now a mainstream phrase. Just because the majority of people think homosexuality's wrong, doesn't mean that it actually is. Nor does it mean that it's ok to hate. Words and subtle actions are important. If you continually hear bad things about yourself, you'll start thinking your a bad person. And if you (you in general, not AJ) think that it's actually wrong to be gay, try reversing the rolls for a bit. Did you choose to like people of the opposite sex? Did you choose to be attracted to any of the people you're attracted to? Did you choose who you love? No, no one does. It's just part of who we are. How would you like it if people where constanty putting out the idea that you had to sleep with members of the same sex, and couldn't sleep with members of the opposite sex? I'm willing to bet that you wouldn't be too happy with that situation. Ok, I'm done ranting now. Sorry to go off. :)

More storytelling! And the entire album produced by one person (<cough>jazzy<cough>). I believe L&F was like this, a lot of discs coming out these days have different tracks layed down by different people. That gives a very random feel to music. I miss the days when there was more consistency in the music. (ya, I'm just an old, nastolgic, cranky guy :)

I saw them in concert once. The best part about it was that they had one guy, in a suit (like all of them), who did nothing but do the running man the entire show.

Oh man, that's GREAT! Thanks Tim, nice addition!

Curse you! I was sitten here, listening to some Rock The House, generally having a good day. Then I read this thread and got curious. So, I listened to the tracks they had on the site. I could have gone my entire life "music" that bad and died happy. But now I have to live my life with the knowledge that that stuff is out there. :noooo:

Hey man, the link seems dead.

Happy Birthday!!!! Enjoy!

I admire what the guy's trying to do, but I think he's being naive about it. Transcendental meditation doesn't mean jack if you can't feed your baby or your wife just died from some disease that's easily curable.

A long time ago, a friend and I debated on how JJ/FP could strike most moods in you, depending on what you're listening to. I haven't seen this posted here, so I'll ask, what different JJ/FP songs/discs strike different moods in you? For me: Code Red (disc) - Always makes me think of Christmas with my family, makes me nostalgic. I can't help it, every time I listen, I get a content smile on my face. Summertime - Obviously, summer. :) Makes me feel like cruisen with the windows down. He's The D.J., I'm The Rapper (track) - Gives me just an insane feeling of energy evertime I hear it. Just Rocken' - I'm not sure why, but this song really motivates me to do stuff. Makes me feel like I should be worken towards dreams. Will 2K - Makes me feel like I should just be having fun right now, enjoying life. So what are some of the songs/discs that really effect ~you~?
-
Oh yea, I love Code Red. I'm just bringen up what Will's said in the past.

The JJFP Video Game: Who Stole the DJ
Schnazz replied to Schnazz's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I kinda dropped off of the face of the earth on this project, my bad. :shakehead: Like Hero said, we have some great stuff on it already, hopefully in a few months we can start getting things in place on it. -
In an interview before, Will said that he hated Boom Shake The Room, so maybe he was referring to Code Red.

I spose there's another topic where I shoulda put this, but I didn't find it, so I'm putting it here! :) I just heard Party Starter on the radio last night! It was during the Saturday night mix stuff, but still! The reason this excites me so much is because when Switch came out, I didn't hear it on the radio at all for several months. So hearing Party Starter so quickly is good news to me. Seems like DJ's are noticing Lost And Found here in the midwest.

Brilliant, incredibly good looking, not at all modest, and he think's he's funny. :)

Great guy to have on your battle team

I liked it man, cool concept, good lyrics. I liked the ending. I thought this part was kinda off: You're comparing loosing luggage to being taken hostage. It seemed to trivialize the experience, make it more cartoonie then dramatic.

I liked the concept and ya had some good lines! Though "Oreos" isn't exactly the nicest of terms.

grand theft auto san andreas is now adults only
Schnazz replied to sonic1988's topic in Caught in the Middle
I think that, in general, when a parent decides to take away a game (or music, movie, books, whatever), the parent is usually over reacting. Most kids understand the difference between tv/movies/games/music and reality. I do agree with Frenetic that a dialogue is a better method. There are, however, certain kids who are not mentally/emotionally ready for that kind of material. I doubt it's anywhere near the quantity that parents believe, but they're definately there. The parent is definately the right person to make those kinds of decisions. They just seem to err on the side of being overly cautious. Now, back to reality, let's really look at what goes on when a parent monitors and removes certain media from a kid. This parent is actively involved in the kids life. They're actively seeing what the kid spends his/her time doing and attempts to keep it in line with what they think will be healthy for the kid. Sure, it's not always right, and they're being overly cautious. But I'd rather see that happen then see parents who don't care at all. If every parent was that involved and concerned, the world would be a better place. So, at the end of the day, I think parents are overly concerned, but I'd rather them be overly concerned then not concerned at all. Just as long as they don't force it on me by regulating what kinds of games can be made and (when I have children) what kinds of games my kids can play. /Edited portion I should out right say this: A parent can raise their kid any way they want, it's their business, not others. There are probably two circumstances where this isn't true, if the child is being harmed by the parent or when the child will grow up and cause problems for society. By no stretch of the imagination does removing games fall into either of those two caveats. :) -

Sounds like you did what a good parent should do! You care enough to see what he's playing and you knew enough to take that game away from him. Absolutley. Just like movie stores shouldn't allow kids to rent R movies or adult movies with out their parents consent, game stores shouldn't let kids get M and AO games with out their parents consent. -

Ok, I want to weigh in on this. This is just stupid, for several reasons: In the game you steal cars and muder people to succeed. But now, oh dear lord, there's concentual sex involved, please won't someone thing of the children! This just show's how off society is when it's better to reward murder then it is to reward sex. It has an M rating here in the US, which means that it's for 17 and older. Now, oh boy, it can only be bought if you're 18 or older. Yep, we're saving the world now. Give me a break, it's foolishness to think that if you're 17 you can't see sex in a game, but if you're 18 you can. Another issue is that this game is obviously not for children. My god, the title of the game is Grand Theft Auto! If you buy that for your 12 year old you should know full well that he/she is getting their hands on something designed for adults. If the title isn't obvious enough for the parents to make the decision, there's a nifty M there to make it even more obvious. No parent who has half a brain and is paying at least a minimal amount of attention could have reasonably bought this thinking it was an innocent childrens game. Continuing on, the game didn't even ship with the sex scene available! You had to manually edit the game. This isn't a cheat code, the game was hacked. Let me point out that you can also modify The Sims to include nudity and sex. Shall we change that to an adult rating as well? Now, if your child is smart enough to go to the internet, find the fix for the game, then apply it. Then your child is smart enough to go to the internet and find much more realistic porn. I'm a game developer, and I have a theory as to how this scene got put in there. Keep in mind that I don't know with certainty if this is how it happened, and even if it isn't, this entire situation is dumb anyway. However, I would bet good money that when they designed the game they decided to put a sex scene in. They probably created it and then decided (or where informed) that it would probably put the game over the top to the adult rating. Faced with that, they would have then decided to remove it. Now, if they did all of this at the end of the development process, then the easiest and safest way of removing it is to not actually remove it, but change a small amount of code to skip over the scene. Any changes at the end of development are very dangerous, even it it's just to remove content. The good decision is to not actually remove the content, just put in a very minor change to ignore the content. The reason why I don't think this is some rogue developer making this change is easy. If it was, then you wouldn't have to hack the game, you would put in a cheat code to see it. That is, it would be available with much greater ease. Why? Cuz if you put in something like that for kicks (that is, you don't ~have~ to), you do it so people can see it. However, I would also bet money that some programmer on the team is the one who created the hack to get it back in the game. I'm very annoyed that the Congress is throwing a fit over this.
