According to this article, this is a film they're gonna shoot in Colombia next August, and Will won't star in it. The story takes place in Colombia and is about a girl in search of peace for her people to return to tranquility. Hollywood superstar Will Smith coming to Taiwan Taipei, April 10 (CNA) Hollywood superstar Will Smith will visit Taiwan in May along with his 15-year-old son Jaden to promote their new film "After Earth," Sony Pictures said Wednesday. It will be their first visit to Taiwan, the film company said. The Taiwan leg is part of an Asia promotion tour for their new science-fiction thriller to be released in June. The tour, scheduled to start toward the end of this month, will also take Smith, a popular American actor, producer and rapper, and his son to Japan and South Korea, Sony said. During their May 3-4 visit, the Smiths will meet their fans in Taipei's vibrant Xinyi shopping district on the evening of May 3, when the world's tallest green building, Taipei 101, which dominates the area, will display the film's title "After Earth" in lights. The movie, set 1,000 years in the future, stars the two Smiths as father-and-son Cypher and Kitai Raige. The film depicts how teenage Kitai and his estranged father, Gen. Cypher Raige, must learn to work together and trust each other in order to return to their home in Nova Prime, a planet light years away from Earth, after their ship crash lands on the abandoned Earth. In the film, Gen. Raige is the leader of the Ranger Corps, which controls peace on Nova Prime, a planet colonized by humans after a cataclysmic event 1,000 years ago forced them to leave Earth. Kitai is a training recruit of the corps. "After Earth" is the second film starring the pair.
