The Men in Black 3 Viral Campaign Expands With the debut of the brand-new trailer this morning (check it out by clicking here), the Men in Black 3 viral website, themeninblacksuitsarereal.com, appears to be gearing up for something new. The below poster was spotted by ComingSoon.net this morning in the New York City subway. Designed as a mock conspiracy theory blog, the site is run by "BugEyes126," a 14-year-old kid who posts information that he believes to be relevant in tracking down proof of extraterrestial life. By calling the number, fans have the option to leave messages about their own alien encounters with the suggestion that the recordings may be used in a future stage of the viral. If you think you've spotted the Men in Black Suits (or have witnessed otherwise inexplicable phenomena), be sure to call 1-888-202-9797 and catch Men in Black 3 in theaters in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D on May 25th. http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=87711

Barry Sonnenfeld on 'Men in Black III' and the sci-fi sequel's production woes Starting to film a big-budget blockbuster sequel without a finished script can understandably make one dubious. It’s a bit like a civil engineer telling a line of traffic, “Just keep driving, I’m sure the bridge will be finished once you reach the end.” Hence the swirling rumors and skepticism surrounding Men in Black III, which began production on its first act before the rest of the story was firmly in place. But the film’s director, Barry Sonnenfeld, appears confident that the film’s unusual shooting schedule — and much publicized four-month hiatus — won’t affect the final product. “If you read everything we read about Titanic, or Avatar, there’s no way one could have expected that those movies would be as good as they were,” Sonnenfeld told EW in January. “It’s fun to read about that stuff, and I like to read about it and decipher how much of it is true or not, but it’s really about if the movie works at the end of the day.” He points to one of the classic examples of a bad shoot resulting in a great film, one directed by MiB executive producer Steven Spielberg, no less. “Spiely went like 100 days over schedule on Jaws. And we all know how that turned out.” The trouble began when producers were unsatisfied with the latest draft of the script, but needed to pin down a start date in order to essentially call dibs on Will Smith, the one truly indispensable aspect of the franchise. “We did not have a script that we were ready to shoot,” said Sonnenfeld. “And [sony chairman] Amy Pascal very wisely, felt, ‘You’ve got the biggest movie star in the world, you’ve got a first act that’s working, and you’ve got the ability to start a movie and make it Will’s next movie. I’m going to take a chance, get through the first act, go on hiatus so we can continue to write, but I can guarantee, even though it’s going to cost us some additional money, that Will Smith’s next movie will be our movie.’” But the hiatus that was supposed to end in mid-February 2011 ended up stretching into April, as the film’s multiple creative forces — including Sonnenfeld, Smith, and mega-producers Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald — tried to bang out a script that pleased everyone, or at least didn’t gravely offend anyone. “You know, we all felt really strongly about our versions,” said Sonnenfeld. “It was Walter and Laurie on one side, Will on another side, me on another side, and the various writers that came in and out on another, and we all equally felt that our way was the only way.” He then added, “Yet we managed to end up agreeing and making a really good movie.” Of course, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and Men in Black III doesn’t hit theaters until May 25. It’s very possible that Sonnenfeld’s confidence will be vindicated, although if there’s one thing this saga has shown us, much like the Men in Black films themselves, it’s that there’s a whole lot of interesting stuff going on right there behind closed doors. http://insidemovies.ew.com/2012/03/02/barry-sonnenfeld-on-men-in-black-iii-and-the-sci-fi-sequels-production-woes/

Will Smith Answers Fans’ ‘Men in Black 3′ Questions The Men in Black are coming back. After a decade away from movie screens, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are suiting up again this summer for "Men in Black 3." In this third go-round, Agent J (Smith) discovers that history has been rewritten so that his partner K (Jones) no longer exists. So J has to go back in time to 1969 and team up with the younger version of K, played by Josh Brolin. Naturally, fans of the sci-fi/comedy series are dying for information about the new movie, so when we asked on Facebook for people to submit their questions about "MIB3" for Will Smith, we got a flood of responses. We selected a handful of questions from the hundreds we received, and Smith emailed back his answers. Read what he had to say about returning for "Men in Black 3," and come back on Monday, March 5 at 12pm ET/9am PT for the exclusive new trailer premiere right here on Yahoo! Movies. Q: Will, it's been quite a while since the last MIB and you have performed in a number of diverse films since. How difficult has it been getting back into the agent J role after so long? (submitted by Chris Zinke) Will Smith: Not difficult at all! After you play a character twice, it's almost like riding a bike. A pretty black bike. Q: Will, If you could travel back in time, which era would you visit and why? (submitted by Anonmember Silva) WS: Ancient Egypt — so I could prove that aliens didn't build the pyramids! Q: Where are the "women in black"? (submitted by Lisa Herring) WS: You gotta see the movie! There are some very prominent Women in Black... and they look hot, too. Q: Did you suggest having a younger Will Smith like Tommy's character in this film? Why or why not? (submitted by Movie Guy) WS: I could answer that question... but then I would be forced to neuralyze you. SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! Q: How do you feel about MIB coming out in 3D? (submitted by Annie Cruz) WS: I just saw it in 3D -- and it looks INSANE. It's the type of movie that is just supposed to be in 3D. Makes me want to go back and do the other two in 3D! Q: What are we going to see in the third installment that we haven't seen in the first two? (submitted by Amber Lee) WS: This movie has not only aliens, but time travel -- so it sets the movie in a time and place that gives it a whole new look and feel and brand-new situations that are so much funnier because of the time period. I really believe this is the best of the three. Q: How does it feel getting back in those sunglasses and suit again? (submitted by Catherine Lencione) WS: I was really surprised that, after all these years, I STILL make this look good! Q: What's your favorite part about being in the MIB movies? (submitted by Damian Corbet Dauphin) WS: I love that "Men in Black" is not like any other kind of movie. There's no other film I've ever seen that reminds me of "Men in Black." "Men in Black" is very special and unique, and I think it will go down in cinematic history. http://movies.yahoo....-175957139.html

Will Smith And Denzel Washington's 'Uptown Saturday Night' Has 'Hangover' Vibe "This Means War" writer Timothy Dowling is next set to work on "Uptown Saturday Night," a remake of the 1974 film of the same name. As it stands, Denzel Washington and Will Smith are connected to the roles originated by Sidney Poitier and Bill Cosby. "Will Smith is producing it. He hired me to write it because he liked the script for 'This Mean's War.' He and Denzel Washington grew up loving the original," Dowling revealed in an exclusive interview with MTV News. "It’s been a fun one to write, I just turned it in. We’re all hoping it’s something [Washington] wants do." "The funny thing is, Will is so funny but hasn’t done a comedy in a while and Denzel I don’t think has ever done a comedy. I think the pairing would be great," he continued. "David Dobkin is attached to direct it and hopefully we’ll get that going." Dowling explained that "Uptown Saturday Night" was "a fun one to write" for a variety of reasons. "The best way to describe it is a 'one crazy night' movie but it's not just one night," he said. "Both of the main characters are blue collar guys, one doesn’t get a promotion, one’s business isn’t doing great, they go out for a night and get caught up in something they need to find their way out of. It’s similar in tone to 'The Hangover.' I think it will be really fun." http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2012/03/01/will-smith-and-denzel-washingtons-uptown-saturday-night-has-hangover-vibe/
