  1. In honor of Black History month, Karyn Parsons, aka Hilary Banks, shares what it's like working with Will on the set of Fresh Prince of Bel Air: "...big personality. love of life...he was the team leader...kept it positive." Karyn is now a mother and founder of Sweet Blackberry, which educates children and brings attention to African-American unsung heroes.
  2. Will Smith's "Uptown Saturday Night" Remake Status Back in January we reported that Warner Bros hired Mark and Robb Cullen to re-write the most recent draft of the remake for Sidney Poitier's 1974 comedy "Uptown Saturday Night," which Will Smith now owns the rights to and Denzel Washington has been circling. During the "Cop Out" press junket, we had the chance to catch up with the Cullen brothers to get an update on the project. "We're waiting on Will, he's got 'Men in Black 3,' he's got four [projects]," they said. "He's the biggest movie star in the world, it comes down to what Will wants to do." They continued: "We wrote it obviously for Will and Denzel to [play Sidney Poitier's and Bill Cosby's roles]. Hopefully it will be that with David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) directing. It's a very funny script." Regarding story: "Will bought the properties for all three, he owns 'Uptown Saturday Night,' he owns 'Let's Do it Again' and 'A Piece of the Action.' So we married the elements of all of them. It's a big movie. A big, fun movie." The original film followed the misadventures of two friends who sneak out of their homes to visit a legendary - yet illegal - nightclub. But when the place is held up, and their wallets are taken, the pair must recover a winning lottery ticket that was lurking within Cosby's wallet. http://www.worstpreviews.com/headline.php?id=16828&count=0
  3. Don't know if these pics are old or not, but anyways I'll post them: Will Smith going to a business meeting in Beverly Hills Los Angeles, California. http://imagegallery.taragana.com/2010/02/18/g/105384/
  4. Did he have to participate in this song to prove he cares about music? I don't think so. Plus, we don't know the reasons why he isn't on it.. Just don't defend him, he doesn't have to justify anything. He's just spending time with his family, which is great. He doesn't owe us anything. He doesn't owe your friends anything.
  5. Yes, but, on the other hand, it wouldn't be a bad thing either if more people bought the song because Michael is on it. The more money they get, the better. That's the most important, and that's why they've decided to keep Michael.
  6. That's not only people's fault. From my point of view we're not doing as much as we can.
  7. Isnt this song supposed to be about people in need and not about Michael being on it..? For me, it's not just Michael being on it. He's the one who made the original. It's practically impossible to not associate this with him.
  8. Wow. Just, wow. This song would mean nothing to me without Michael. It's great they kept him.
  9. Gilles Marini Owes Acting Career to Will Smith (VIDEO) Actor and 'Dancing With the Stars' contestant Gilles Marini told Bonnie Hunt that he owes his career to none other than Will Smith, who he encountered in a hotel restaurant while working as a waiter. Smith, who was in town at the time training for 'Ail,' encouraged Marini to pursue his dream of acting, he said on 'The Bonnie Hunt Show' (weekdays, syndicated). "He gave me a boost. [He said], 'If you dream of something ... Los Angeles is the right place to go.' And, I thought, 'Hey, why not?' I just moved out and now it's history. I guess it worked out," Marini said. http://insidetv.aol.com/2010/02/12/gilles-marini-owes-acting-career-to-will-smith-video/
  10. Sunday's showing of "Super Bowl XLIV" became the most-watched TV program in US history. The game drew 106.5 million viewers, destroying all previous Super Bowl records and overthrowing the 27-year-old record held by the final episode of "M*A*S*H," which garnered 105.97 million viewers. "Super Bowl XLIV" is the first sports program to ever domestically crack 100 million viewers. Granted, the population has grown from when the "M*A*S*H" finale aired, with the TV audience having climbed from 218 million viewers to 292 million. Yet that audience is also much more specialized and segmented in terms of viewing habits. Most broadcast shows struggle to pull ratings that were commonplace just a few years ago. "It is not surprising that the Super Bowl broke viewing records," said Bill Carroll, vp director of programming at Katz TV Group. "When you have a once-a-year event, particularly suited to HD, with little to no competition on broadcast or cable, while in this economy it's mostly watched from home, with a blizzard on the East Coast, it would be more surprising if the game did not set a record." The big game was followed by CBS' latest reality show "Undercover Boss," which also scored for the network. "Boss" drew 38.6 million viewers, the biggest post-Bowl numbers since CBS aired the second-season premiere of "Survivor" after the Super Bowl in 2001. http://www.worstpreviews.com/headline.php?id=16705&count=0

  12. Smiths Go to Court to Beat Film's Investor to the Punch LOS ANGELES (CN) - Hollywood power couple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith have filed a complaint in Superior Court to head off a threatened lawsuit by a Philadelphia tycoon who bankrolled Pinkett-Smith's straight-to-video indie film, "Human Contract." The couple filed the complaint Friday against David Grasso, a Philadelphia real estate tycoon who invested an unspecified amount in "Human Contract" through his company, Tycoon Entertainment, after Grasso threatened to sue for fraud unless he got his investment back. Pinkett-Smith wrote and directed the movie. "(I)t became clear after the film was completed that the Tycoon defendants were unlikely to recoup their investment," the lawsuit says. The couple says that's when "Grasso decided to play the 'blame game' and now threatens to file suit." The couple says Grasso is "claiming without any basis that they convinced him he had no risk and guaranteed him a return on his investment" when "plaintiffs, of course, made no such representations nor is it conceivable that an experienced, well-represented real estate mogul like Grasso would believe such promises." The couple seeks a declaratory judgment that have done nothing wrong and are not liable for Tycoon's losses. Named plaintiffs include 100 Percent Womon Film Investments Inc., Pinkett-Smith's company, and Overbrook Entertainment. The couple is represented by Allen Grodsky with Grodsky Olecki. http://www.courthousenews.com/2010/02/05/24454.htm
  13. I doubt that, especially since 'Transformers 3' starts filming next July.
  14. Avatar Surpasses Titanic as the Highest Grossing Domestic Film! February 3rd, 2010 It has taken James Cameron's latest film just over seven weeks to accomplish what his last film took almost a year to do. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cameron's Avatar has broken the all-time domestic box-office record, with an updated domestic take of $601.2 million through Tuesday. The mark surpasses Cameron's previous film, Titanic, which held the domestic record for 12 years with the seemingly-untouchable mark of $600.8 million. The increase in ticket sales and the surcharge for 3D viewing was instrumental in this record falling in so short a time. Cameron's film still doesn't hold one all-time box office mark though: Gone With the Wind still holds the all-time record for total tickets sold, a record that has stood since the film's release in 1939. http://www.movieweb.com/news/NEa86ccaXIFRde ----- Okay, Cameron isn't only the King of the World. He's also the King of the Universe! Simply awesome.. :faint:
  15. Connecticut state police responded to a tripped alarm at a Salisbury bank at 9:40pm last night. Upon entering the building, police found actor Rip Torn (Men in Black, Dodgeball) with a revolver and highly intoxicated. Law enforcements believe that Torn gained access to the bank through a broken window, which the actor likely broke himself. Torn was arrested and taken to jail in North Canaan, where is he held on $100,000 bond. He is charged with first degree burglary, first degree criminal trespass, third degree criminal mischief, carrying a firearm while intoxicated, and carrying a pistol without a permit. He is set to appear in court on February 1st. Last year, Torn was given probation in a Connecticut drunken driving case and granted permission to enter an alcohol education program. He also has two previous drunken driving arrests in New York. http://www.worstpreviews.com/headline.php?id=16611

  17. First, Will said that someone took his words out of context during an interview saying that he wanted to be the next President of the United States. He said that it was just a misunderstanding, that he only said he could be the President if he wanted to, but that it wasn't the case because he wasn't interested in politics. And now this.. I think he's a bit confused about his future. It's obvious he wants to make an impact in the world, but, honestly, I can't see him as the President. With his movies & music he makes many people happy, but probably he wants more. I just don't think politics is the answer for him. But hey, who could have thought some years ago that Schwarzenegger would become Governor of California?
  18. I don't know how to download the video man, sorry.
  19. Has anyone read more info about this? That's the only source I've found, I find it a bit weird..
