  1. If you have recently found yourself feeling a little lost after leaving the theater of a Will Smith film, it`s ok - you`re supposed to. This is completely normal, and in no way caused by you, response is due to a rider in Will Smith`s current movie contract. This rider in no way changes his salary, affects his commission or royalties, nor restricts him from adding to soundtracks; it does however grant him full creative rights over the 4th quarter of the script. It is at this point in the pre-production process where Will Smith will do re-writes, edits, and augmentations to the script in which the story will be altered to accommodate a new ending that Will Smith has come up with independently, well before the original story for the movie was written. After the final draft has been written by and then approved that same day in the same room without interruption by Will Smith, the production process begins, no other actor of executive questions it, and Will Smith`s IMDB profile gets a billion more hits. The trailer may compromise the plot and give away key scenes but the new ending will remain pure and untouched. Possibly deterring fans from seeing the movie because the movie seems predictable or trite, thus affecting the co-stars but not Will Smith. Will Smith will still draw in the audiences when word gets out that it`s good "the ending is different "but it`s good, I think. I don`t know, maybe you should just wait till it`s on TV. Nobody has enough will power to side step that kind of curiosity that review will elicit. Nobody is exactly sure when the ride was put into effect. It was more than evident in late 2006 and since has been in full bloom, although leaving many wondering if it first occurred in Men In Black 2 or the odd leg shot of Gene Hackman in Enemy of the State. If it did occur in the latter, the rider obviously laid dormant for such movies as Ali and Shark Tale. Sometime around 1998, though, it seems apparent that Will Smith started writing and compiling new endings for future projects. It also seems that Will Smith did not mean to plan too far ahead nor mix and match endings to plots - this has been theorized by remixing endings of his projects and finding that the ending of Seven Pounds would fit perfectly at the end of Shark Tale (a movie where the rider was not acknowledged) as well as the out of place and forced theme of fate at the end of I Am Legend, which suspiciously fits comfortably at the end of 2005`s Hitch and 2006`s The Pursuit of Happyness. These endings may have been scrambled and out of place due to some mild confusion in 2000 when Will Smith did some acting for a Men In Black ride at Universal Studios in which Will Smith already used up a very appropriate ending for a Men In Black story with two Rosario Dawson endings to come up with in the near future while being fresh out of ideas. Evidence appears to point to an unorganized system that Will Smith has been employing from around the late 90`s. If any of you have researched him lately, you know he has many projects coming up and this two year hiatus has hopefully been spent on writing new, original endings. http://thesop.org/story/entertainment/2010/03/09/will-smiths-weird-ending-clause.php
  2. 'Men in Black 3' Casting to Begin Soon, Names Being Thrown in the Ship Columbia Pictures is officially having conversations regarding their third entry in the Men in Black franchise as we're being told by industry insiders that in addition to Jonah Hex cowboy Josh Brolin likely (still unconfirmed) to star, they've shown strong interest in both Sacha Baron Cohen (Sweeney Todd, Bruno) and Jemaine Clement ("The Flight of the Conchords") for a character named "Yaz" (a new agent?). Neither are locked, this should be taken strictly as rumor for now. Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder, Igor, Idiocracy) wrote the screenplay. Shooting was originally rumored to begin this spring. The 1997 Men in Black grossed nearly $600m worldwide, while its 2002 sequel took in $440m. Why so long for another sequel? Who knows! http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/19388?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+bloody-disgusting+%28B

  6. Queen Latifah Comes to Jada Pinkett Smith's Rescue A loving friend is someone to lean on, as Jada Pinkett Smith experienced first hand. While presenting Queen Latifah with the Power Award at the third annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon, Pinkett Smith became choked up over the recent passing of her father, who succumbed to a heart attack. "My father died last week, and I'm flying tomorrow to bury him," said Pinkett Smith, 38. "But I wanted to come because when those types of losses happen a lot of things get illuminated and your priorities fall in line." She added, "When I think about Latifah I think about a woman who makes me feel loved. She can sit in the throne of my soul and just be there with me. She makes me laugh." Unable to continue her speech due to a heavy flow of tears, Pinkett Smith found herself on stage alone and unable to speak – until Latifah came up to stand beside her. "This is what I'm talking about," Pinkett Smith, said, picking up her introduction. "I don't see her a lot, but she's my girl." http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20348920,00.html
  7. Happy birthday guys! All the best!
  8. If the song is about raising money and including MJ contributes to it, then I think it's very important that he's on it. And I'm sure all of us appreciate the fact that all these artists/people have participated in the song in order to help, or at least that's what I want to believe, but that doesn't mean we have to like the result. That has nothing to do. Of course it's a charity song, but why can't we criticize the parts we like least? It's just opinion.
  9. Nearly two years after would-be blockbuster “Earth vs. Moon” was snatched up following a bidding war between four studios, the writers of the red-hot script have become even hotter. But, now that they’re better known as the creators of “Zombieland” and have sequels in the works to that film, “G.I. Joe” and “X-Men” character Deadpool, where does that leave the sci-fi epic – and their hopes to someday film it with Will Smith? “’Earth vs. Moon’ is in the background,” explained writer Rhett Reese, when we interviewed him along with partner Paul Wernick and asked for an update on the long-simmering project. “We’ve written a first draft. We’ll be writing a second draft at some point.” So, if everyone loved the script in early 2008, what’s the hold-up? “It’s really big; bigger than you might imagine, it’s even bigger than that - it’s a big, monster of a movie,” explained Reese, whose “Zombieland” is now flying off DVD and Blu-Ray shelves. “And yet, at its core it has some real heart.” The film is based on a concept by Stephen Hawking of all people – who has spoken about the human need to colonize other worlds and set up back-up societies that could correct the mistakes of our experiences on this planet. From that unlikely source, Wernick and Reese have conceived a film that would pit Earth’s residents against a colony of moon settlers, in what would basically be a civil war. “It’s set in the future,” Reese explained. “It’s about a war between Earth and a colony on the moon that was established as a means of first colonization by Earth.” “It’s about a fractured family - some of the family members are on the moon, some are on earth - so it has a real personal feel to it,” he continued. “It’s also grand in scope, it’s got a lot of cool weapons, a lot of cool action, and we’re happy [with its development]. We’re going to keep on improving it, and get it into theaters.” How big will the movie be? Well, Reese and Wernick say that there will be a need for some impressive special effects – and in their mind, there’s one international superstar who could topline the project and get it to the right tentpole-level. In fact, they’re so eager to land the actor that they even named their main character Will. “It’s something we’ve always wanted Will Smith to do - we really wrote the character for him, so we hope [his participation] happens at some point,” Reese said. “[We would be] the star; he’s on earth…an earthling.” “[With modern CG], we can write anything and they can make it happen - but for a reasonable budget, that may not be the case,” he added, admitting that although the movie is high-concept, a good director could make it work. “You don’t want to write a small movie with a big action scene sitting in the middle of it…when you approach your movie, you have to have budget in mind…so that you don’t get completely nuts, and between that you can be completely free with your imagination and do crazy stuff. Because the visual effects people - ‘Avatar’ has proven - can literally do anything. Anything you can imagine, they can do - which [for writers] is very freeing.” What do you think of the “Earth vs. Moon” concept? Would you like to see it become a Will Smith vehicle? 15. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air - Warner Tells the 5th Season DVDs to Chill for One More Week They said, 'You're Movin', With Your Auntie and Your Uncle, to May 11th!' Posted by David Lambert 2/23/2010 At the end of January we reported that the long-awaited DVD release of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air - The Complete 5th Season was finally on the way, and would arrive on May 4th. A short time ago today Warner Home Video issued a notice that the street date has changed for this title, pushing it back 1 week to May 11th. Online retailers (such as Amazon's pre-order listing, at the button link below) should reflect the updated information before too long. No reason was given for the change. But, after waiting for a few years to get this new 3-disc set, I'm sure we're all happy to wait just an extra seven days, right? http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Fresh-Prince-Bel-Air-Season-5/13379
