BET debuts new web series "Buppies" Tatyana Ali as Quinci in new BET web series "Buppies" Former "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" star Tatyana Ali has got a new gig as the star of BET's first ever web series, called "Buppies". The show debuts 3 p.m. tomorrow (Nov. 24) on BET.com. In it Ms. Ali is a young publicist named Quinci, who's part of the Black Hollywood scene. In the first two episodes, available for media review, Quinci is trying to recover from the death of her father and a failed engagement to a basketball player. Helping her heal are her circle of friends, which includes the stereotypical light-skinned bougie girl and her equally bougie boyfriend, the brown-skinned ghetto diva, and a lawyer/rapper. Well, that last one is not exactly, typical. While everyone knows what's happened to Will Smith since "Fresh Prince" ended in 1996, but most of the other cast members have kept pretty low profiles. Recently, James Avery (Uncle Phil) resurfaced as Sherri Sheperd's father in her new series, "Sherri". Ms. Ali has kept busy doing small films, like "Nora's Hair Salon," "Down & Out" and doing episodes of the CBS soap, "The Young & The Restless." Will Smith And Family Stay At The Westin Beijing Chaoyang The Hollywood star Will Smith, together with his wife, Jada Smith, and their three children, Trey, Jaden, and Willow, recently came to the end of a four-month stay at The Westin Beijing Chaoyang. The Smiths were in Beijing for the filming of a new kung fu movie which stars Jacky Chan, and is being produced by Will Smith. The hotel's general manager, Daniel R. Ahhh, loved them. So 80's! I'd have to add 'MacGyver' too. Patty and Selma would never forgive me if I didn't. Other sitcoms I loved were 'Growing Pains', 'Family Matters' (Steve Urkel = Legend!) and, of course, 'Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air'. And I can't forget 'Captain Tsubasa': Best Soccer Animated TV Show Ever.

That's why I said current TV shows, :laugh: If I had to choose shows that aren't running anymore then I'd definitely have to pick 'Friends' without any doubt!

EXCLUSIVE: 'Independence Day' Sequel To Be Two Movies, Possibly Called 'ID4-Ever' More than thirteen years, Bill Pullman gave a goose-bump-inducing Fourth of July speech about freedom, willpower and how a few ugly aliens needed a good beatdown and honestly I'm still pumped up. On the strength of that patriotic presidential speech alone, "Independence Day" deserves a sequel, and talk about one has cropped up here and there since the film's blockbuster release in '96. Could it actually happen? And what would it look like all these years later? Director Roland Emmerich gave MTV News a couple clues. "What we want to do in the next it's actually two movies we want to do a bigger arc," he explained. "'Independence Day' was always like the king who leads his troops into battle against an evil force, and that stays like that." So the plan is not just one sequel but two. And Emmerich has got a nifty title in mind: "'ID4-ever,' Part I and II maybe?" he suggested. Mind you, there's not yet a script "There's an idea," he said but he did say that when they move forward Will Smith will most certainly be involved. "The idea is just to continue the story and actually I don't know how many years ago this wastwelve, thirteen, fourteen years agoand just continue where it ended." Where it ended was with Pullman and Smith's victory over the invading aliens. Presumably, over a decade later, the White House would have been rebuilt and civilization returned to some semblance of normalcy. What's Smith's military man been up to? Do the same alien baddies return, or do we get new ones? And, unless term limits have been abolished in this world, Pullman's US prez will no longer be in office how might he fit into the story, if at all? Emmerich didn't want to spill any plot details, but he promised that "one day we will do it and that the story will stay firmly on the planet.
