'Mike told me, 'You know, I get it all the time,' ' Jeff says of doubting MJ was actually on the phone. DJ Jazzy Jeff had an interesting relationship with the late King of Pop. The Philadelphia turntablist's A Touch of Jazz production company worked with Michael Jackson on "Butterflies," a slow-jam top-40 hit from his last solo effort, 2001's Invincible. The song was originally intended for British soul duo Floetry, but when MJ's camp got wind of the number, Jackson decided he had to have the track for himself. So he called Jeff. "It was funny, because [the guy that connected the call] was like, 'Mike heard the song and he loves it,' " Jeff told MTV News. "And, you know, anytime you heard anything about Mike, you're kind of like, 'Whatever.' I was mad, 'cause I was the only one in the room. So I answer the phone, and he was like, 'Jeff, I got Mike on the phone.' And Mike was like, 'Hey, Jazzy, I just want to let you know I need this song, man.' And I was just standing there like, 'OK.' And I hung up the phone and went into the room with everyone. I told them I just got off the phone with Michael Jackson and he wants the song. Everyone was just like [skeptically], 'Ohhhh-kay.' " The DJ, who recently put out the Michael Jackson mixtape He's the King, I'm the DJ, understood the sentiment completely. Years earlier, when he and Will Smith were active as DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, he had a similar feeling of disbelief over an MJ call. "I've had some bad experiences with Mike on the phone, 'cause I actually hung up on Mike in the studio once," Jeff explained. "I walked in, and Will was in the studio on the phone, and I didn't know who he was talking to. He was like, 'Hold on — say what's up to Jeff.' And when I grabbed the phone, he said it was Michael Jackson." Jeff hung up, to Smith's chagrin. "Will just had a blank look, like, 'Dude, you hung up on Michael Jackson,' " Jeff recalled, laughing. "I apologized [when he called back], and Mike told me, 'You know, I get it all the time. It's OK.' " MJ didn't hold it against Jeff when the two eventually worked together. Jeff said his time in the studio with Jackson was a unique experience. The superstar singer took three days to complete "Butterflies," Jeff recalled. He would only work for one hour a day after warming up his voice for one hour prior to the studio session. The DJ said he had never seen anyone go to those lengths to achieve a peak performance, but after the first day, the shock of MJ being in the studio wore off. Jeff described the gloved star as "cool." "By the second day, everything was normal and he was cracking jokes," Jeff said. DJ Jazzy Jeff Highlights Obscure Michael Jackson Tracks With Mixtape He's the King, I'm the DJ features 49 tracks, including some lesser-known songs. DJ Jazzy Jeff is used to being around royalty. He manned the turntables for the Fresh Prince in the late '80s before becoming Will Smith's TV sidekick. Now, the Philadelphia native is set to release his latest mixtape, He's the King, I'm the DJ dedicated to the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. "After Mike passed, I really started digging, and I found a bunch of stuff that I didn't know Mike had, especially with the Jackson 5," Jeff told MTV News. "He had a whole bunch of albums that go completely past people. I think people just go for [popular songs like] 'I Want You Back,' 'Never Can Say Goodbye' — and there was a bunch of obscure albums that all had really good stuff on them. Then it was hard, because I wanted to keep it one CD and not make it a Mike anthology. I wanted to just make it something that was entertaining, that you could just play from the beginning to end." The 49-song mixtape is sponsored by Undcrwrn apparel and will be available for free download on their site starting Monday (October 26), on the eve of premiere of the concert documentary, "Michael Jackson's This Is It." The mixtape cover, featuring an illustrated take on Jeff and Smith's album He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper, is also printed on a T-shirt from Udrcrwn, retailing for $32. Jeff said he was inspired to do the mixtape after fellow DJ Mick Boogie suggested putting his playlist together as a proper release. "I did it exactly as I would play it out live," Jeff explained. "I kind of wanted to give a feel like you heard it in a club. I didn't necessarily want to go in a certain order, 'cause everybody in the world plays certain Michael Jackson songs. And I wanted to play songs that not everyone plays, play some obscure album cuts. And if you listen to it, I have some a capella and versions of songs that not everyone had heard. So, I kind of wanted to mix it up and keep people off guard. Just give them an example of all that Michael was like." The set features a range of MJ music, from classics like "Human Nature" and "Billie Jean" to not-so-familiar remixes, including a Pete Rock take on the Jackson 5's "2-4-6-8," featuring CL Smooth, and mix of "Rock With You," featuring Fela Kuti. "He just has a lot of good songs," Jeff said. "That's what I really wanted to focus on. You can go to any club in the world and hear 'Billie Jean,' you can hear 'Beat It,' you can hear 'Wanna Be Starting Something' — those are his main staples that an Eskimo in Alaska knows." "From director Clint Eastwood, 'Invictus' tells the inspiring true story of how Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman) joined forces with the captain of South Africas rugby team, Francois Pienaar (Matt Damon), to help unite their country. Newly elected President Mandela knows his nation remains racially and economically divided in the wake of apartheid. Believing he can bring his people together through the universal language of sport, Mandela rallies South Africas underdog rugby team as they make an unlikely run to the 1995 World Cup Championship match." The poem 'INVICTUS' by William Ernest Henley, from which Nelson Mandela drew strength while in prison. "Out of the night that covers me, Black as the Pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds, and shall find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll. I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul."

Stallone, Arnie, Willis film 'Expendables' Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis have filmed their scene together for The Expendables. The '80s action movie stars, who launched the Planet Hollywood restaurant together in 1991, united this Saturday for Stallone's latest film, about a team of mercenaries who head to South America to take down a dictator. Ethelmae's Blog, which is linked to the production, described the key scene as "atomic". "At 8:10am with three cameras rolling the biggest action icons of our time went to work," wrote the blogger. "I thought it was electric in Brazil when all of the Expendables stepped on set - but today was atomic!!!! The whole crew was mesmerised as we watched the three of them play off of each other in a pivotal scene that sets up the whole movie. "While I can't/don't want to give too much away I can tell you that Arnold's character is Trench and Bruce is Church, the scene was shot in an empty church without extras and minimal set." Describing the trio's reunion further, the site continued: "I walked to the set with [Arnold] and watched as the 3 guys greeted each other with excitement and anticipation. "Bruce looked amazing - very fit, beautiful bald head and that smirky smile. Sly looked relaxed but definitely ready to put this puppy to bed. Arnold had a stogie in his mouth, a giant watch on his arm and was constantly making jokes." The Expendables is scheduled to open in cinemas on August 20, 2010. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/news/a183876/stallone-arnie-willis-film-expendables.html

Chris Brown says Will Smith reached out to him Chris Brown says Hollywood megastar Will Smith was one of the first people to reach out to him when his life began to unravel. October 21, 2009, (Splash News) - Chris Brown says Hollywood megastar Will Smith was one of the first people to reach out to him when his life began to unravel. Brown, who is serving probation and community service for assaulting singer Rihanna, told a New York radio station: "As a young black man myself, I need older black male role models to step in and kind of mould me, not people bashing me, 'cause that's not how you learn from mistakes." Brown said Smith offered him advice after he assaulted Rihanna, his former girlfriend. When he was asked how people should feel about him, he said: "Honestly, with me, it's not a thing about how you should feel. Just be human. Because at the end of the day, I'm human. Of course you're gonna have your thoughts and opinions. I'm not gonna say they're wrong. But at the end of the day, it's not right to judge someone. People make mistakes all the time. I'm learning from my mistakes everyday and I regret it every second." Brown is subject to a restraining order to stay away from Rihanna. http://www.sawfnews.com/gossip/60911.aspx#
