Sly Stallone's Venice Triumph Sylvester Stallone walked the red carpet at the 66th Venice Film Festival on Saturday night to pick up a prestigious award. The 'Rocky' and 'Rambo' film icon was there to receive the Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award. Stallone also showed clips of his latest film, 'The Expendables', in which he co-stars opposite Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham and Jet Li (Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger also appear in the film), and screened a new director's cut of his 2008 film 'Rambo.' He is currently ramping up for a fifth 'Rambo' film. We knew this would happen sooner or later. Shame. I've always enjoyed 'Dirty Dancing' and 'Ghost'. Rest In Peace, Patrick. At least you won't suffer anymore.

Can't wait 2 see this in theaters. I will always miss you, Michael. -
Yeah, I've always loved Cobra. It's Sly's third best character IMO (no need to mention who the other two are). Wish he had made a sequel, and probably a third part. Like the list says, it could have been a great franchise. Like a "dream team", haha!

Interesting stuff!

The movie will be released in theaters on June 11, 2010.

Agreed. I've always thought that Sly is an excellent writer. Thanx 4 the list rawad. I had heard about some of those roles offered to Sly before, like for example the role of Axel Foley in 'Beverly Hills Cop'. It would have been a great action movie if Sly had starred in it. Eddie Murphy did a good work though. It's probably his best movie to date and a classic 80's action comedy, with a very catchy soundtrack. Hope they make the 4th part especially since Eddie's last movies are simply embarrasing. The good thing was that Sly made 'Cobra' instead, one of my favorite action movies of all time. Those glasses! I'm glad he didn't appear with Travolta in 'Godfather III' though. And, of course, I'm glad he wasn't Superman  Can't wait to see 'The Expendables'. Arnold & Bruce will both make a cameo!

EXCLUSIVE: Peter Berg Reveals More 'Hancock 2' Plot Details On Thursday we broke news that Will Smith and Charlize Theron will be returning to superhero land for "Hancock 2," the sequel to 2008's blockbuster original. Today we come bearing gifts in the form of exclusive story details about the upcoming movie. Director Peter Berg has told MTV News that "Hancock 2," while picking up after the events of the first film, will delve deeply into a prequel/origin story that will reveal fresh info about [spoiler Alert!] the connection between the immortal god/superheroes played by Smith and Theron and how they came to be living in modern day Los Angeles. "We're looking at exploring their relationship prior to when we first met them and seeing a bit of what happened as a prequel," Berg said. "I think we danced around the concept of an origins and we settled on something that is very substantive. That will part of the sequel." Following on the $600-plus million dollar success of "Hancock," it took filmmakers a considerable amount of time to find a compelling way into a sequel. But they settled on an outline at the beginning of the summer and then hired writers: Adam Fierro and Glen Mazzara, who have written for shows like "The Shield" and "Dexter." "It took us a while to start breaking a story that made sense to all of us," said Berg. "We finally did that about three months ago and hired writers immediately. Hopefully we'll have a script soon. It's something everybody's anxious to get involved with." With writers who have worked on TV shows with tones and plotlines that are far grittier than anything we saw in "Hancock," will the sequel become a darker film than the original? Berg said we should expect the same mix of laughs and emotion. "One thing we tried to do with the first one was balance comedy with more muscular drama, some would say to mixed results," the director said. "Obviously there were some critics who were not entirely down with that tone. But we believe in it—that we can find both. With Will Smith you get that rare talent who can do broad comedy and is also capable of real emotional drama. We wanted writers who we felt could capture both of those tones." http://splashpage.mtv.com/2009/09/11/exclusive-peter-berg-reveals-more-hancock-2-plot-details/

Janet Hubert: "Will Smith owes me an apology!"
Ale replied to Ale's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
If we don't know the real story we can't judge. Janet could be saying the truth. Janet could be lying. Personally, I don't care about this. -
Check album number 3, 4, 5.. they are full of them Titles! I want titles! LOL

Do you honestly think 'Seven Pounds' was a step back in Will's career and 'Men In Black 3' would be a step forward? Wow. In movies like '7P' WIll shows how good an actor he can be. Same with 'Ali' and 'Pursuit Of Happyness'. I guess it depends on which MIB we're going to see. The 1st MIB is Will Smith's 2nd best critically acclaimed movie to date. People really don't give it enough credit but MIB is a classic. It is the 80's Ghostbusters. MIB was a huge step forward for Will's career. The 2nd one wasn't good I'll give you that. 7P may not have been a step backwards but it also wasn't a step forwards. We're speculating on this movie or that movie but frankly it isn't as much about what genre/movie Will is making it usually is about which writer/director we're going to see for that movie. I've always admitted that MIB was a great movie even though I never liked it. But 'Men In Black' 3? Now? Is it necessary? For me it's a BAD idea, especially since what they did with the second movie.. I think the best director Will has worked with is Michael Mann. He's 1 of my all-time favorite directors for many reasons ('Heat', 'Collateral', 'The Insider', 'The Last Of The Mohicans'...). But yeah I'd like 2 see Will working with better directors too. That's why I want him to make 'Oldboy' with uncle Steven.

Jay-Z and Will Smith are exhibiting their passion for the arts with generous sponsorship for the production of an upcoming $11 million Broadway musical titled 'Fela,' which documents the life of Nigerian activist and performer Fela Anikulapo Kuti. The play, which officially debuts on Nov. 23, will include Kuti's personal music, as well as other African, jazz and funk influences. Fela Kuti has been celebrated for his musical influence in Africa, most notably for spearheading the introduction of afro-beat music to the mainstream. He was also a well-known human rights activist, heavily influenced by the American Black Power movement, and eventually served jail time for his activism before his 1997 death from the HIV virus. An original version of the two-hour biographical play debuted off-Broadway in September 2008 to rave reviews, but production on the new musical was temporarily halted because of financial troubles. The new and improved version of the play will be directed by Tony Award-winner Bill T. Jones and will feature actor Sahr Ngaujah, who won praise for his role in the original adaptation. Though there have been mumblings that Jay-Z and Will Smith may step in as producers, there has only been confirmation that financial support from the two stars has kept production in motion. Previews of 'Fela' will begin on Oct. 19 at the Eugene O'Neill Theater in New York and the show will run through April 4. http://www.theboombox.com/2009/09/11/jay-z-will-smith-shell-out-millions-to-support-fela-kuti-musica/
