I know many Superman fans (including me) that would be offended if Will played the role. Christopher Reeve, you'll always be the one and only SUPERMAN! R.I.P. Chris

Will reveals that he was asked to play the last son of Krypton prior to Hancock, but was quick to turn it down because he didn't think people would go for a race-revamped Superman. "The last Superman I got offered, the script came, and I was like, 'There is no way I'm playing Superman!' Because I had already done Jim West (Wild Wild West) and you can't be messing up white peoples' heroes in Hollywood," he recalled. Laughing, the king of the 4th of July weekend added, “You mess up white people’s heroes in Hollywood, you’ll never work in this town again!” http://www.comicbookmovie.com/news/articles/4791.asp

Is There A Giant Robot In Hancock? First a certain Avenger's shield turned up on Tony Stark's workbench, and now some kind of robot may have reared its metallic head in the middle of a fight scene in Will Smith's drunken superhero movie Hancock. Look at that figure, towering over the crowd in this slightly blurry clip. Is it a Transformer? A generic giant-ish robot? Or just a freakishly tall homeless person? The internet has been wondering. Very minor spoilers ahead. The folks at Comic Book Movie were intrigued enough to ask: During the climactic fight scene in the Hancock movie, with all the tornados blowing around, you see something that looks like a transformer, or giant robot walking across the street during the melee. At the time, I past it off as one of the combatants or an illusion because of all the debris flying around, but we've had several emails asking us about it. Does anybody know what it was? And did everybody see it? Tell us! Sadly, the consensus among Comic Book Movie's readers was that it was just "a guy on stilts—one of those panhandler freaks that are only found in LA." Which raises another question: Is LA really true of panhandlers on stilts? Do they have signs saying things like, "Will Impersonate Giant Robot For Food?" [Thanks to Jake for the heads up.] VIDEO! http://io9.com/5022263/is-there-a-giant-robot-in-hancock :lolsign:

I just found this interview when Will was promoting 'I am Legend' on Radio 1. It's pretty cool! http://www.radio1movies.com/2007/12/meeting-will-sm.html :2thumbs:

A movie with two of the most powerful actors in the world and people are not gonna see it? I really don't think so. @ Sandy: I'll post the videos later

Why not? Both are great actors in my opinion. must I state the obvious? Well I don't think Will should be worried about what people think about Tom. Like it or not, Cruise has made some pretty good movies and Will just said that he'd like to work with him. I can't see why working with Tom Cruise in a movie should be a problem. From my point of view, people should know the difference between a job and personal life.

Will Smith was disappointed he missed out on an Oscar for his role in 'The Pursuit of Happyness' - because he was convinced it was "my time". The star has received two Best Actor Academy Award nominations to date - for 'Ali' in 2001, and again for the 2006 drama. He was beaten to the podium in 2002 by Denzel Washington - for his role in the critically-acclaimed 'Training Day' - and he and lost out to Forest Whitaker's 'Last King of Scotland' portrayal at the 2007 Academy Awards. Smith admits it was Whitaker's win that upset him the most. He says: "Denzel took it for 'Training Day'; fantastic film. When you can get nominated and invited to the (Oscars) party, it's huge. (But) I can always tell when things aren't right for me at the time; I didn't feel like that was the time. "But, for 'Pursuit of Happyness', I actually felt like it was my time and I still didn't win it! I was like: 'Hey, it's my time! Wait, hold on, that other boy's taken my thing!'" http://breakingnews.iol.ie/entertainment/s...amp;p=z6xyyx874

Hancock hits theaters this weekend and even though it’s getting the kind of bad reviews critics usually reserve for M. Night Shyamalan movies, unlike The Happening it’s sure to be a huge box office success. It’s Will Smith, July 4th weekend, and superheroes. Everyone who sees it may hate themselves in the morning, but everyone will see it. So maybe it’s no surprise to learn that there are already plans for a sequel. One of our most reliable, secret sources dropped me an email this morning to clue us in on Sony’s plans for a followup. Whether those plans get put into motion depends of course, on how much Hancock actually makes, but behind the scenes things are already in motion for Hancock 2. There’s one big thing in the way though, and it’s not how much the current movie sucks. It’s that Will Smith knows it sucks, and may not want in on the second one. Our source says that Will Smith does not like the finished, first film and the only way he’ll agree to do a second one is if they throw out everything from the first, give it a complete makeover, and hand over more control to him. Normally I get a little jumpy whenever Will Smith starts interfering in the filmmaking, we don’t need another I, Robot, but in this case… it can’t possibly be any worse. It’s nice to know that if they do foist a sequel on us, there’s a chance that they’ll fix at least some of the really weird problems with the first one. For now, it's all rumor. Our source is a good one, but these things have a way of changing fast. Sony's plans are in motion, and we'll see where Hancock's box office this weekend takes them. http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Hancock-2-Planned-9373.html
