By JIM SLOTEK and KEVIN WILLIAMSON -- Sun Media He's played a real-life champ in Ali, and various forms of action-men fighting aliens, robots and post-apocalyptic vampires. But Will Smith still doesn't have a sword-and-sandals epic to his credit like Brad Pitt (Troy) and Colin Farrell (Alexander). Enter Taharqa, the last Pharaoh of the 25th or Nubian Dynasty (the one in which blacks of Ethiopian descent ran Egypt). Carl Franklin (Devil In A Blue Dress) has already banged out a script called The Last Pharaoh, full of Ethiopians battling Assyrians for the throne of Amun-Ra. Now it's being polished by Chris Hauty (Never Back Down), so look for some mixed martial arts to excite the masses. "It's an open writing assignment from Will's company. It's something he's taken a big interest in," says Hauty, who's had a few projects fall apart in recent years (including an animated version of Moby Dick that Dreamworks started working on and dropped because it decided to get out of traditional animation after Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron gave up the ghost at the box office). The actual "last Pharaoh," for you hair-splitters out there, was Cleopatra. http://jam.canoe.ca/Movies/Artists/S/Smith...078376-sun.html

Some info: Celebrity trainer and fitness consultant Darrell Foster, who has been involved in boxing since he first entered the ring as a fighter in 1972, uses his extensive knowledge of the sport to train celebrities like Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, Antonio Banderas and Woody Harrelson. Although he also works with people who are not celebrities, Foster takes his responsibilities as a celebrity fitness trainer seriously. He teaches the actors how to fight, not how to fake it. "They have to learn the basics and how to take a punch," he says. A licensed boxing and fitness trainer and emergency medical technician, Foster is the owner of Omega Bodies, Inc., a fitness and fighting outlet based in California. He not only works with celebrities on coordinating their fight scenes, but also on their lifestyle and weight management, because, he says, "a lot of diseases are lifestyle-related." Actor Will Smith says Foster is an asset to his business team. "I first started training with Darrell to prepare for my role as Muhammad Ali for the film Ali," he says. He has continued to use Foster for his other roles in Men in Black II, Bad Boys II and I, Robot. "I train with Darrell because he is simply the best." The actor's transformation into a young Muhammad Ali for the film even impressed the champ himself. Muhammad Ali says Foster is extremely talented and an exceptional trainer. "He was able to train Will to fight as I did, to dance around the ring and be light on his toes. Will's transformation into Muhammad All the boxer was total and complete" he adds. Foster also trained Smith's wife, Jada, for her strenuous fight scenes in The Matrix sequels and in the film Collateral. He says when training Jada for The Matrix, he had to consider her post-partum condition, because she had recently given birth to her daughter Willow. "We had to take the training a little slower," he says. But in her recent film, Collateral, he almost had to do a reverse training for her, encouraging her to "consume a few more carbs" and incorporating more cardiovascular fitness into her training regimen. "Both Jada and Will are real hard workers who will do whatever it takes," he says. __________________________________________________________ This is his filmography according to IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0287756/ And here's a video where we can see him acting in IAL & Hitch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zF9Padvkr_w The reason why I made this topic is because I've found a very interesting article titled "Survival of the Fittest" explaining Will's diet manipulations and workout routines for 'I am Legend'. There are also pretty cool pictures. Here yoou go: Article: http://www.omegabodies.com/THE-FITERATI-REPORT.pdf Just thought I'd share this!

New Images from HANCOCK! Written by Stephanie Sanchez Thursday, 20 March 2008 Columbia Pictures has released a few new images from HANCOCK, starring Will Smith due out July 2, 2008! There are heroes... there are superheroes... and then there's Hancock (Will Smith). With great power comes great responsibility -- everyone knows that -- everyone, that is, but Hancock. Edgy, conflicted, sarcastic, and misunderstood, Hancock's well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives, but always seem to leave jaw-dropping damage in their wake. The public has finally had enough -- as grateful as they are to have their local hero, the good citizens of Los Angeles are wondering what they ever did to deserve this guy. Hancock isn't the kind of man who cares what other people think -- until the day that he saves the life of PR executive Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman), and the sardonic superhero begins to realize that he may have a vulnerable side after all. Facing that will be Hancock's greatest challenge yet -- and a task that may prove impossible as Ray's wife, Mary (Charlize Theron), insists that he's a lost cause. Check out the four new images from HANCOCK below! http://www.iesb.net/index.php?option=com_c...7&Itemid=99

Exclusive: Sony Execs Tried To Pressure MSNBC Into Killing Will Smith Scientology Story Defamer has learned that executives at Sony tried to have an MSNBC story outing Will Smith as a closeted Scientologist killed. With the Smith tentpole Hancock slated for a July release, execs are clearly worried their big summer blockbuster will turn into another Mission:Impossible 3 conundrum, when Tom Cruise's anything-but-glib antics spurred petitions against the film and damaged the film's B.O. on both the domestic and international fronts. In an effort to prevent a similar ****show come July, our source claims Sony forced a denial statement out of Smith after MSNBC stuck by their original story: "After word got out that Will was a secret Scientologist, reps from Sony [the studio behind Hancock] completely flipped out, and asked that the online exclusive be taken down immediately. After being refused, Sony forced Smith to speak out and release a denial statement." But how did his friends in the Church take the news? Find out after the jump. As our source explained, it appears the folks at Sony weren't the only ones up in arms about the Smith and Scientology claims. Apparently Will and his family have been giving money to the Church for years, though they've done a fantastic job keeping their donations under the radar. Says our source, "After Smith's Scientologist friends saw the denial today, they got incredibly pissed and some asked him, 'you're still gonna donate money, right?'" Considering the secretive nature of many celebrity Scientologists, coupled with an urgent request from a major studio to remove a rumor on a gossip site, it's time to take this story up a notch from rumor to fact. Since when do execs at a studio as powerful as Sony reach out to news-gathering organizations and attempt to use their leverage in order to kill potentially damaging stories? Oh yeah, that's right, since forever! We applaud the folks over at MSNBC for sticking to their guns (and their story). http://defamer.com/369401/exclusive-sony-e...ientology-story

I think Will has read your comment, Julie... :lolsign: Will Smith and Jada: Don't know much Scientology Tuesday, March 18th 2008, 4:00 AM Will Smith, Jada Pinkett and Kimora Lee Simmons are loudly denying Radar magazine's claims that they've been recruited into — dun dun dun! — the Church of Scientology. Smith, a good buddy of Scientology poster boy Tom Cruise, denies he is a church member. "You don't have to be Jewish to be a friend of Steven Spielberg. You don't have to be a Muslim to be a friend of Muhammad Ali. And you don't have to be a Scientologist to be a friend of Tom Cruise," Smith tells us. "I am a Christian. I am a student of all religions. And I respect all people and all paths." Despite reports she distributed the Scientology book "The Way to Happiness" to N.Y. school kids, Simmons' reps also denied her involvement. But while celebs are distancing themselves from the cultlike religion, Radar's blistering six-page expose of the church says leaders are more concerned by the dissension of its former members, namely the shadowy network of ex-Scientologists known as "Anonymous." The group is credited with leaking the now-infamous recruiting tape of Cruise laughing maniacally (in an equally creepy turtleneck). The pranksters/hackers also managed to crash the church's Web site for three days and post confidential Scientololgy documents and lectures on YouTube. Said Church spokeswoman Karin Pouw: "This group of cyber-terrorists ... has targeted the Scientology religion with hate speech and hate crimes" and has even left "threats to plant nitroglycerin bombs in churches." http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2008/03/...much_scien.html END OF STORY!

Will didn't diss the gangsta rappers, Will dissed the gangsta rap. He didn't attack anybody. In fact, it was them (gangsta rappers) who criticized him before, questioning his rapping skills and saying he was weak. It was Will who fought back, but he did it with songs, with an album, with style. And the most important of all... why now? It's a bit late to make such comments, don't ya think? The only reason I find is that Dre is jealous of Will. Period.

Will Smith Not A Scientologist, Confirms Rep Will Smith's representative has confirmed to TheCelebrityTruth.com that the movie star is not a Scientologist, after reports continue to circulate on gossip blogs and tabloids that he has joined the controversial religion. According to the April edition of Radar magazine (via msnbc.com), "The Church has also set its sights on African Americans, opening up a center in Harlem in 2003, and making a strong play for Hollywood supercouple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett." The article quotes an 'unnamed source' who claims that Smith is "getting more and more involved (in Scientology)... and it isn't just him, it's definitely Jada, too." The story has been picked up by numerous gossip sites including Perez Hilton, however, when TheCelebrityTruth.com checked in with Pat Kingsley – Smith's representative – Kingsley vehemently denies the Scientology speculation. "As Will Smith's publicist I can tell you with 100 per cent certainty that Will is not a Scientologist," Kingsley says. http://thecelebritytruth.com/will-smith-no...irms-rep/001178
