I’m not sure what the birthday boy will think of the rapper’s inclusion. Eminem’s lyrics have been slammed as homophobic, misogynist and promoting violence. An insider revealed: “Will Smith is a big fan of Nelson and wanted to help out. Nelson is so inspirational and so many artists want to be involved. Razorlight and Keane are definites. And U2, the Spice Girls and Macca could join them. “We think it will be Mr Mandela’s last official international public appearance, which will make it more special. Eminem’s up for it too. People will be surprised. He’s not someone you’d expect to play a Mandela charity gig.” The 45,000 tickets for the show will be sold using a Glastonbury-style online registration system. According to a Los Angeles based adoption broker, the entertainment industry's first couple is "exploring" the idea of adopting a child from China. The broker told MediaTakeOut.com, "Will and Jada are among a number of Hollywood couples looking into adopt in China." But don't expect baby pics anytime soon. The set, part of a new monthly series called "One Step Beyond," featured retro rock, R&B, and rap hits, and some Euro new wave, and was predictably hilarious. The young crowd, presumably composed of fans of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reruns, danced to everything from “Rapper’s Delight” to Kanye West’s “Flashing Lights.” And then there were the Retro Kids, an enthusiastic eight-man crew of Run D.M.C.–styled look-alikes sporting multicolored blazers and gravity-defying Afros, who did the running man in unison.
