What do you think about "da butta"?
DevilsJim89 replied to uncle phil's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I definatly would've prefered MC Lyte or Queen Latifah.... Man, why didnt Will and Queen Latifah cut some tracks? damn.... Also, why did Will allow so many cameos on Willenium? -

You ever use a Will line
lol, u c the thing with Will's chat up lines is that its hard 4 other ppl to pull them off. Will can do them coz he has a certain confidence, but if any other guy barked at a women i can imagine she would be pretty scared lol. But yeah i always use Wills lines, especially parents just dont understand, and i use the rain too 4 ppl going thru bad times.
I guess you could have also said "guys aint nothing but trouble"...haha -
Here's a question... Is today's society, music, and culture the same as it was 8, 10 maybe even 12 years ago?

I have... "parents just don't understand" and "girls ain't nothing but trouble" haha for real though. They're so easy to use in real life. -

It's one of Will's battle tracks I think. I think what he means by "da butta" is he brings it everytime. Like it's Big Will bringin' it again. Kinda like Queen Latifah's "bring da flavor". -

I like this song alot. The beats are awesome and so are Will's lyrics. I'm not a fan of Lil' kim but this song was nicely done. "my flame to hip-hop burns internal" -
haha the worm!! and he's still in WWE doing the worm on Smackdown. Time really does fly. Willenium is almost 5 years old. Big Willie Style is gonna be 7 this year. and Code Red is gonna be 11. :eek4:

Big Willie Style vs. Willenium
DevilsJim89 replied to DevilsJim89's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Big Willie Style is a better album than Willenium 'cause there was some very hot songs on there that weren't singles:"Chasin' Forever" "Candy" "It's All Good" "Big Willie Style"(With Left Eye, he mentions Nas in the song but I don't get why Nas didn't rap a verse on it),"Don't Say Nothin'"etc... Willenium's hot too but after "I'm Comin'" the album didn't start heating up until that song "La Fiesta" where every song after that was ill! I thought that "Potnas" would made a better single than "Freakin' It" for the Philly scene 'cause that was a classic JJFP track similiar to "Twinkle, Twinkle"(I'm Not A Star). All of Will's albums are classics regardless to record sales! I'm saying that Big Willie Style is better for the flow (it's wack to say that this album was just commercial)over Willenium and not for record sales over Willenium. Will bragged alot more on Big Willie Style, but hell after being in the game so long I'd brag too. New rappers comin' out brag a whole lot but can't back a damn thing like Will can!
Agreed!!!!!!!!!   -
I could never ever see him with Bad Boys. That's P-diddy's label. They would destroy Will and tell him to do stuff that Will wouldn't want to do. He needs a big label...im still for Dreamworks. Also Jive Records maybe all pop, but that was the label for JJFP. I think they would still support and promote them.

Alright Big Willie Style vs. Willenium...which do you think is better? Personally, I like Big Willie Style just a little bit better. Willenium is all about taking it back which is cool but I just love Will's flow on Big Willie Style. It may be egotistical but I love how he's aggressive and the whole album is great. No wonder why it went 9 time platinum. Don't get me wrong though about Willenium, a lot of JJFP on that which I love and old skool flavor loaded with cool cameos like Biz, Tatiyana Ali, MC Lyte...etc but theres just something about Big Willie Style that makes me like it a tiny bit better than Willenium.
I liked the one where Jazz was on the drums and Will was dancing around in Ashley's room.
thats my top favorite - thats classic JJFP right there on TV. And even the crowd knew it. That and when Will gets Uncle Phil to invest in a apartment that Jazz owns and Jazz and Will are like walking through reading the list of complaints like "sticky stuff under the stairs tastes bitter" - i think its bitter or bad. that same scene or the one before it where Will is sitting in that apartment and someone upstairs flushes the toilet and it lands right next to him in a barrel. hahaha! :bowrofl:
Freakin' it is a good song. People don't like it but I don't care. It's not fully hip hop, but the liryc is great and the video has a retro style that I love. I don't know if releasing it as second single of willennium was right ( I would have preferred so fresh..) but I like this track
I agree but I guess Sony wanted another "jiggy" type song. Still good though.

I downloaded this video off of Kazaa a long time ago and it's probally one of the best videos I've seen from WS or JJFP. Will is taking it back in this video to Philly, and Jeff is scratchin it up the whole time. So technically its JJFP but not really. Will is wearin' some dope gear even if it is just snow gear. I know some people dub Freakin' It as the worst song on Willenium but I honestly do not think so. So what if it's using the same old sample that has been used so many times, theres trackmasters for you. Lyrically it's a great song even tho it's one of those "jiggy" type tracks. It also sounds pop-ish due to the sample but it's still a decent song but the video is awesome.

There is no such thing as the type of hiphop that makes you feel good around today. It's all crap haha.... thats what I love about old-skool hip-hop, thats the true stuff that makes ya feel good....this includes all Big Will's music and a few people of today. lol.

I don't think there's ever gonna be an "official" list that everyone is going to agree with. Everyone has different tastes and opinions on different artists which makes it difficult to have a list.
Great track!! Will has all the right 2 brag, 2. :afro: This track's like a chilled-out party version of "Don't Say Nothin'"!
Exactly. A real down to earth track. Will is braggin' but at a real layed back style. He's not as aggressive. Great song. :peace:

Happy Easter y'all!

Welcome back Prince! Sounds and looks like you had an awesome time.
-
Yep. He always starts out a track like that. I think its just like a warmup. I usually don't mind it. Kinda adds to the track in a way.
-
Sounds like a great show.....Tim did you go to this?
Yeah, on Willennium, Will went thru' a phase where just did that "Ha ha, ha ha" laff on alot of the trax. I just think it waz Will having fun while recording the track....it's alot better than adlibbing something like "Overbrook...we won't stop...cuz we can't stop"...ha ha. He dose do that laff a lil' bit on Born To Reign and on Big Willie Style 2...it's just in your face on Willennium.
I always noticed that about Will on Willenium. Every track theres at least one "ha ha ha"....I take it he's having a blast.
-
I hate him. He's not great but then again he don't suck but he more sucks than he is good. (If that makes sense...haha) I only like two songs "My Name Is" and "Lose Yourself" - other than he is lyrically and physically full of crap.
Even though they lost tonight, the Devils showed more heart to win, so I'mma keep hope up that the Devils will find a way! Peace!
Burns is an idiot. He replaces Kozlov with Larionov??? Larionov has a lesser size and he sucks! He's 43 years old and cant play for his life. He assisted on the Flyers second goal. :cussing: I don't know what to think now. Marty has been off and he lets up week goals. Langenbrunner and Friesen are invisible now and have been all year. Unless a miracle happens (like Langs and Friesen actually scoring or Stevens coming back), I really doubt that Devils will win the series. Its too ugly right now. :tear:

Great post! :dancingcool: I'd have to go with "I Wanna Rock". It was made when Will was still the Fresh Prince and not some big time hollywood star. I like Pump Me Up though because it does still show that they can kick but its on Willenium - a Will Smith record. On "I Wanna Rock", FP is goofy, plays around a lot. Even on the video, it's a real ol-skool feeling to it. "Pump Me Up" is probably the best track though to compare "I Wanna Rock" with.
