Holy crap! The first track is amazing "How To Emcee" ...THAT SHOULD BE THE 1ST SINGLE! I wasnt sure how I felt when I heard "Holy Are You"....it was just a weird title and I didnt like the opening part of the song. This album is dope, I can't wait to cop it! This has def. got to be one of the best rap albums in a long time. I just hope Ra doesnt take another 10 years to drop something new.

DJ JAZZY JEFF LIVE IN HOBOKEN, NJ

I'm a few days late but last Wednesday in Hoboken, NJ, DJ Jazzy Jeff was spinning so of course I made the hour and 45 minute trip to see him on the night of the final game of the World Series. Basically, my gf and I got there around 1015ish and Jazzy wasnt playing until 11. The place is sort of a small upscale bar/lounge that has 2 main floors. On the downstairs floor is where the couches which were reserved and you can chill out while the upstairs has the bar and it a little smaller size. I notice that the house DJ is spinning at the end of the bar looking onto the 1st floor so we get right in front. Around 1045, I see Darnell, and Jazzy walk upstairs and I shake Darnells hand and say whats up. He pointed out to Jeff that I was there and Jeff said whats up. They get set up behind the bar while watching the big flat screen of the game. I also see Skillz was back there with them. There was this big weird idiot security guy in front of the Jazzy but Darnell kept telling him that I was his boy so I was good for most of the night. Jeff was literally 2 ft in front of me, I had the best spot. The first track Jeff drops is "Empire State of Mind" and from there it was a big party. I had so much fun as he played more club/party tracks as opposed to the album cuts and real hip-hop played 2 months ago when I saw him in Philly. Meanwhile, Darnell is walking around and hands me a phyiscal copy of the new MJ mixtape. I was so hyped. I'm then dancing with my girl and I hear "Jim from jazzyjefffreshprince.com I see you!" and I went over near the staris and talked to him in between the emceing. Skillz is a good dude, real friendly and chill. I told him I saw the interview from a while ago (which I cant find now damnit) from allhiphop.com about the Eminem/Will Smith beef and what not. It was kinda hard to talk to him since he was hyping up the place and all but still was cool. I asked him when they were coming back to Atlantic City, NJ and he said sat nov 28th! As I'm talking to him, I'm seeing Darnell look at me while talking to this woman. She then comes up the stairs and introduces herself to us. She was Lynette, Jeff's wife!! She WAS SO NICE! and she invited downstairs to the couches. I was telling her how I felt like a kid in a candy shop since I been a fan for a while now and this is unbelievable. I also was saying how hip-hop today needs Jeff and Will and said that Will basically doesnt need to make another movie - hes set for life, he can rap. She told me its real hard though because of the movies and all but Will does really really wants to do it so we'll see. I also found out from her that she takes care of Jeff's website but hasnt really been updating since shes had twins and what not which is obviously understandable. She says they def check jazzyjefffreshprince.com often and its a great site. I cant remember if it was Skillz or her that said she met Tim in Florida at the winter music conference. But Tim, you were def brought up! lol. Lynette also told us how Jeff really appreciates the fans and said nothing but good things about us when we met in Philly. She and Darnell also introduced me to Kenny Dope, who produced "My Souls Not 4 Sale" and just said whats up to him and how much I love that track. Darnell actually told him how much of a real fan I was saying how it doesnt get any more real than this and that im the type of fan they love. Near te end of the show, Lynette went behind Jeff and tried to get some pics. haha..After the show, I said whats up to Jeff and had him sign my Code Red and TROTM album covers. It was kind of hard to talk to him this time around cause some people were by him. I got a couple pics with him and then he had to go. I said goodbye to Darnell and I also told him I'll be there on the 28th and he told me to hit him up that week so he can put us on the list. I'm so excited!!!! Thank you Tim! This is such a dream come true, to have Jeff, his wife, Darnell and Skillz acknowledge and know me personally is awesome. It feels so great!! heres some pics!

haha nice treasure dude! I'm guessing the person was part of Jive as a producer or something. I saw a Gold plaque for Code Red a couple years ago but didnt get it. Nice job!

Amazing..I first found this site in 2001 but didnt really post until 2002. Back when I was 13/14 ...woww!!! Now I'm 21..damn time flies!! I LOVED that Code Red style.. Tim, you should at least bring back that Homebase style intro and either convert the colors to white and blue to match the current theme! any ideas on another design? -

DJ JAZZY JEFF ON THE VH-1 HIP-HOP HONORS

I personally thought the Oynx performance was terrible. Great track but from what I find, the majority of the time Rap sucks live. -
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jay Z passes Elvis for most # 1 albums!
DevilsJim89 replied to VIsqo's topic in Caught in the Middle
Jay-Z is the undisputed king right now of Rap and has been. Whether you love him or hate him, he is THAT good. The plaques, the numbers, the charts..etc...hes my 3rd favorite rapper (behind JJFP and LL) ..hes been so consistent since 96 and I'm glad he just doesn't stop. Much better than seeing and hearing crap like 50 and souljah boy -

First off, before I even begin to describe my night, I just want to say THANK YOU TO TIM! One of the best decisions I ever made was back in '02 when I joined this site. Such a great online community established by Tim in which the fans are great. My night started off good. I left my house for philly around 7ish and got there around 830ish. I had some trouble finding parking but was able to find a spot a few blocks down. My girlfriend and I begin walking down 4th street and its already a little bit of a long walk especially since we just cant seem to find this place. Its 613 4th street but it went from like 617 or so to 611 and I was dumbfounded cause I just didn't see it. I asked some guys in front of this little resturant where it was and it turned out to be on the side of the building (down this alley sort of called Kater Str) After I find out, I turn around and meet up with this guy Will aka the Mix Professor. He was just chillin on the telephone pole and I was like .."Mix professor and he goes Jim?" and we greet each other and start talking! The nicest guy ever! It was about 915 and the show was suppose to start at 10 but there was a party or somethin just ending. Around 10, I see Darnell come out and greets Mix. Mix then introduces me to Darnell and Darnell was mad nice and said I'll make sure you meet Jeff after the show..I was so excited!! DJ Mike Nyce started things off with about an hour or so set but since we were one of the first ones in, we heard the first song and Mike Nyce dropped "My Souls Not 4 Sale" ..WOW! To hear this track bumping from an excellent sound system is incredible. It was funny because I had just to Mix that my fav joint of TROTM was "My Souls Not 4 Sale". My gf and I grab some drinks and the place was filling up. Such a small place too. I see Jeff walk down the stairs and to the booth amd then took over. Jeff killed it! So many good tracks and it wasnt alot of mainstream party tracks..it was alot of REAL HIP-HOP..not the crap from the top 20. He did his routine of dropping Rock the Bells which was ILL! I was hoping he'd do that. The whole show was dope! The show is winding down around 230ish and is over by 245. I find Mix and we wait outside infront of the resturant. I'm starting to get real hyped up more and more. My gf was so tired and she was sitting down on a stoop kind of sleeping LOL she was tired and her feet really hurt her bad, meanwhile, theres a white tinted Audi parked right along the curb and I saw Skillz just chillin outside of it and then in the front seat. I should've said something to him but I didn't since I didnt know how to approach him. After 10 more min, Darnell and Jeff come out and Darnell goes .."see I told you'd meet him!" and he introduces Jeff to me. I wasn't even starstruck, I was just talking to him like a normal guy. I introduced myself and told him I'm a big fan of Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince and he put on an excellent show. I then asked him if theres a chance Will will ever rap again and if there gonna do another album and I mentioned how Will hasnt rapped since Lost & Found and he said "possibly..it all comes down to scheduling. were suppose to talk in a couple weeks and we'll see what happens" I also asked him the next time he's gonna be in Atlantic City NJ and he told me was just there but should be back soon. I also asked him about the MJ mixtape and he told me its gonna be finalized this week, there putting the finishing touches on it which led me to ask if the track him and Will did with MJ will be on it and hes like what do you mean? I mentioned how I heard supposedily they did a track together for Willenium and said nahh hes like I wish we did something together, thatd be amazing. I thanked Jeff for meeting him and Darnell and we got going. I couldn't believe it!! So we started walking back down Mix, myself and my gf and Darnell pulls up and says "hey where y'all walkin to? I told him the street and hes like get in I'll give you a lift. Darnell gave us a lift to the block and I thanked him and he noticed my necklace i was wearing since its a new jersey devils logo and hes llike whats with the chain..go flyers!! flyers for the cup! hahaha and that was that. All in all a great night. It's so rewarding to be able to meet Mix Professor first off all and then Darnell and Jeff. They take care of the fans! Jeff is so humble, so down to earth which made it more comfortable for me to talk to him. Thank you Tim! I can't thank you enough!!!!

This is probably one of JJ+FP's most high-energy performances. They are so good live on stage! Will just has this incredible stage talent and its depressing that he chooses to no longer rock the house. What a track "Will 2K" was. I love The Clash sample its just so clever. I still play it on New Years to this day!
-
None of you guys remember this? Wow This is from when Will was promoting I,Robot in the UK...Lanceister Square? Before the premiere him and Jeff performed like a half hour set. Even Biz came out! That pic is him on stage! It was a great show thanks to Brakes video recording some of it and I think some other people did too...this was in July or August 2004

WWW.WILLSMITH.COM I know theres nothing much but look at that background pic ...LOVE IT!...could something be brewing? thats also his default on facebook....hmm... a little glimmer of hope perhaps?
