  1. Happy Birthday to the long time JJFP.com veteran AJ!
  2. Fantastic article! I love seeing this kind of love and I love how not all those songs were hit songs. Decent list! I was actually just listening to "Hes the DJ, I'm the Rapper" last nite.
  3. Ever since I noticed Jeff was on facebook, I've always wanted to show some love and write a real "fan letter" to him with hopes of him reading it or even replying. I'm pretty sure he definitely read it but I didn't get a reply, which is okay, I expected it. Just him reading it is fine enough with me.. ---------------------------------- Subject: message from a true JJ+FP hyped fan Yo Jeff, First of all, nice to see you on facebook. Thats pretty dope to know your basically a click away from fans and friends. You probably get a lot of fan mail or people bothering you but I just wanted to send you a message from a fan. I'm Jim, from the Jersey Shore and I'm a regular member of the forums at www.jazzyjefffreshprince.com (username is: DevilsJim89)(and I'm down with Tim Price over there, aka Hero1). I just wanted to show some love and appreciation. I'm almost 21, but I've been a fan of DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince since about '98 or so. My favorite album is the very underrated "Code Red" and followed by "Homebase". I love your music dude, straight up. I was just blasting "Summertime" in my car today and I was thinking - damn, will there ever be a new JJ+FP album? I know people probably ask you alot about Will, but basically all I wanna know is will there ever be a 6th album? Are you guys working on any music at all? I really hate how Will is all about movies, he has such a talent for the mic and he could really spit the truth. I was hyped when I heard about you guys goin a tour last summer but then was disappointed when after the Hancock performance (which was dope! Brand New Funk + Summertime live) it pretty much ended. At least your keepin it real with the music. The rap world is ready for a Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince reunion (even tho you guys never broke up haha just the name change)..just by people on YouTube and Rap Forums online, much love. I loved TROTM, "My Soul is Not 4 Sale" was amazing. Fess killed it on the Jeff + Fess and I also loved Holdin it Down ..Meth doin his thing. Speakin of Fess, are you guys gonna drop a CD together? I LOVE that track "Bring it Back" and "Force of Nature" that you did in your basement and I also wanna hear the "Pretty girls are the Lonelist" track that was pretty funny. I enjoyed your latest mixtape especially the Nas "It Aint Hard to Tell" remix. You should do a mixtape of you and Will's material! Sorry if this is long and drawn out, but basically I'm a diehard fan, I have every album (from Rock the House to Code Red, to the TROTM), every song (from Girls Aint Nothin But Trouble to rare songs like Get Hyped, Lovely Daze and From Da South), many mixtapes, remixes and performances (like the 1987 UK Capitol Rap Session w Tim Westwood to your performance last summer with Will)..the chemistry is superior to anybody whos ever been in the game. I was there in Philly back on July 2nd, 2005 when you guys performed at Live8 and killed "Summertime" ...what a great feeling being in Philly seeing you guys doing it live. I'm yearning for something new and see you guys live again this time maybe at like the House of Blues in Atlantic City or something, I'd love to meet you man, Tim has, Da Brakes has along with Kev from the site, it'd be dope. I can't wait for my turn. Alright enough of my rambling, just showing some love brother, keep rockin the house, you always got my ear. Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince Forever! - hope Mr. Hollywood knows that hahahaha all the best man .. Jim from Jersey.. ------------------------- I hope one day he shows Will this and we can get more JJ+FP
  4. Great footage! I love how he has that Fresh Prince chain around his neck ..if only he still wore it and not k.smith lol
  5. I'm almost 21, but for me, I was exposed to hip-hop through the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I thought Will Smith was hillarious and I wanted to learn more about him so I looked online. At this same time, the year was right around '97,'98ish and "Big Willie Style" was just blowing up. I remember sitting on the school bus goin on a class trip to New York City and some girl had the album and I couldn't get enough of it. Of course I was too immature to really understand the lyrics but it was fun. That led me into "Willenium" and I couldn't get enough. I didn't really download music at all back then nor was I working so I never had money for CDs. Plus my parents would never let me get rap cds just because of the parental advisory sticker haha.. During those years, 99-early 02, I loved him and always requested his records played at our school dances. I remember going on AOL back in May or June '02 and hearing Black Suits Comin for the first time. I loved it! Apparently alot of other people did too cause it established a bigtime download record online. 3 days before I moved from Northern NJ to the Jersey Shore, I watched FP on MTV Beach House (which was in Seaside Heights on the Jersey Shore (where Big Ted lives)) ..I couldnt stop watching that hour long program. I must've watched it 5 times(re-runs) in a 24 hr span that weekend in June right before "Born to Reign" dropped. I picked up "Born to Reign" on the day it dropped and enjoyed it but not as much as the other too CDs. Later on that summer of '02, I picked up all the JJFP CDs and I was pretty happy. During all this time, my only exposure to Rap was on MTV and VH1 - back when both networks actually played music. I remember Nelly blowin up, Eminem blowin up, Dre when he came back with The Chronic 2001, Jay-Z's hard knock life..etc. Thanks to the internet, from 2002 to even now, I branched out and found alot of rap. 2002-03--Alot of Run-DMC,Heavy D,Queen Latifah,LL Cool J, Kid N Play - stuff that wasnt too explicit but as I grew older, I become infactuated with Snoop, Dre, Biggie and Jay-Z from 05-06, I know what the lyrics are about and understand them. Right now, I have probably over 70GB of music on my computer. About 90% of it is hip-hop. I actually love and hate hip-hop. I love it because of the beats, the clever lyricsim and punchlines that make you go "ooh damn I wish I said that..etc"..I love the elements of hip-hop. The dancing, grafiti, scratching and rapping. I just hate how poorly it's commercialized with stupid crap like Soulja Boy and DJ Unk..etc. Pathetic. Thats my story lol
  6. its a funny concept but wow - more crap material from Em. It's really hard to swallow Dr. Dre (known for NWA/G-Funk and others) to this garbage. ugh..
  7. My favorite video is for Party Starter. The video could've done away from the punk rock part of it but it still was a great video. I'm pretty sure it got a lot of play on the MTV2 or MTV Hits channel. Whatever channel they play videos because at the time (before YouTube blew up) people told me they loved the song and video.
  8. whoaaaa man! The tapes from Philly pre-Jive 1985-late 86 are slowly resurfacing.. this is amazing material someone send this to K.Smith and tell him to get his uncle back in the booth!
  9. This is brand spanking new - Rhymefest ft. Queen Latifah called "Goin In" . ..Latifah kicks it by rapping a hot verse. Shes back! http://limelinx.com/files/226210de9cd5fe0e3b308779f6df1f71
  10. Thanks Brakes! I downloaded "Swagger" a month ago and I LOVED IT! I thought that was a real smooth cut. Sounded like it could've passed from '96 or something. I didn't know if this song was off an album or mixtape or something. Thanks bro!
  11. And did an amazing job on it too! Polow is a great producer, the beat to Nas "Hero" is siiick!
  12. LOL silver tiger .. Happy BIRTHDAY TO BOTH YOU GUYS!
  13. haha yeah he did dude and he had balloons fall on the crowd for valentines day i guess lol
  14. Sorry for the delay - I've had an amazing weekend and busy week so far so I haven't had a chance to update this. Truth of the matter is, seeing LL Cool J last Friday night was probably one of the greatest moments in my life. HE IS THAT GOOD. It was almost life-changing haha. The House of Blues is a small concert hall located in the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. (About 40 from where I live). We got there around 745 and doors opened at 8. Unfortunatly we had to wait til 915 (played til 11ish) for LL to start. It was so worth it. There was a DJ on each side of the stage (DJ CUT CREATOR ON THE RIGHT!) and a big screen in the middle. The curtain is raised and the DJs are scratchin it up as its still dark. Suddenly "Its Time For War" starts to play and there's pictures of LL on the screen - its so sick!" After "Its Time For War" - "Old School New School" hits and LL HITS THE STAGE! What an amazing introduction. Its funny cause when I was listening to LL the whole week prior to the concert, I thought "Old School New School" would be a great intro. After that, he does a little bit of "I'm Bad"..so dope! Next he does "Luv U Better"..the whole crowd is rockin with the goat! LL then calls for the lights off and says he wants to make it like a club. He tells us when the beat drops and lights come on, dont stop bouncin and jumping til he does. Suddenly "Head Sprung" hits ..wow!!!!! The building is shaking. That song is so freakin hot - Timbaland def. blessed LL with that record. LL than does "Paradise", "Hush" and "I Need Love" as he's throwin out roses to the crowd. Ladies Man haha..meanwhile some girls are taking off their bras and throwing it on stage..haha and LL hangs them on his dope mic stand. A little while later, LL is explaining how this one particular record paved the way for hip-hop and the two DJ's are going back and forth just scratching showing how old school rap used to be. SO DOPE to hear cuttin and scratchin live! Right then and there "Rock The Bells" hits - LL kills it!!! So Incredible! Another highlight is LL is talking about one rapper who he only got to do one song with before he passed away and it was Notorious B.I.G. ...next thing I know "Flava In Ya Ear (Remix) is played and LL nails his verse! The crowd was so hyped!! Truthfully at this point, I forget the entire sequence of his performance. LL has such an extensive catalog and he performed quite a number of songs. I'm pretty sure this is the set list ..some were full songs, some just a verse or two Its Time For War Old School New School I'm Bad Luv U Better Headsprung Paradise Hush I Need Love Go Cut Creator Go Rock the Bells Flava In Ya Ear (Remix) Jingling Baby Back Seat & Pink Cookies (only a couple lines of each ..LL said he forgot the lines hahah) Fatty Girl Baby Mama Said Knock You Out I Shot Ya 4,3,2,1 Doin' It Loungin (Remix) Hey Lover I'm That Type of Guy ..and some more I think Like I said before, I can't get over how dope it was. I saw Jay-Z & Mary J live last year and they were dope too but LL has so much more energy and clearly loves what he does! I was probably about 20 feet or so away from the stage in standing room. Very much worth the $35 ticket I paid. Makes me kick myself for not seeing him live back in '06 and I hope he comes back real soon! Heres some pics! I had alot of video too but I'm still going through it and the quality isn't that hot since its my cell phone. This concert was the best, it just solidifies LL even more as my 2nd favorite emcee! If he's ever playing anywhere around the world, GO SEE HIM! Highly Recommended!!
  15. Tomorrow Night I'm going to see the G.O.A.T LL Cool J live at the House of Blues in Atlantic City NJ. I have general admission STANDING tickets so I'm hopefully going to be right in front of the stage. It's going to be phenomenal seeing one of the greatest in the game live. I can't wait to hear "Mama Said Knock You Out" live. Hopefully Ill have some pics ups from it! I cant wait!! :wickedwisdom: :wickedwisdom: :wickedwisdom: :wickedwisdom:
  16. The only thing 50 is lucky about is all the production from Dre. I rock out to 50 strictly cause the beats are fire and it's something to cruise too. "Get Up" is fire. However, 50 is a joke. I love how he has tracks like "I'll Still Kill" or whatever talking about killing people and violence yet the dude is loaded beyond belief with cash. Let's get real 50, you aint killin nobody, just your cred and eventually - career.
  17. Def man! Bow Wow has the potential to be someone better than who really is. However, his crap with Souljah Boy is destroying him. JD is just legendary. His 90's production includes hot tracks like "Money Aint A Thing" ft. Jay-Z "We Just Wanna Party With You" ft. Snoop Dogg (off the MIB soundtrack) "Sweetheart" ft. Mariah Cariey amongst many other tracks.. and Bow Wow's newest single "You Can Get It All" is hot too! I'm impressed.
