  1. make sure you guys include the songs featuring DJ Jazzy Jeff because its so rare nowadays ha ha just had to throw that in there lol
  2. I'm headin to a Christmas party on Sunday Dec 10th. Theres gonna be alotta dancing and music. I'm gonna rock the mic and perform these songs.. JJFP - "Ring My Bell" (Mr. Lees Remix) Will Smith - "Switch" Ludacris - "Money Maker" Digital Underground - "The Humpty Dance" all of these songs I know the words by heart and I'm pumped to rock the mic and get everybody going. Now I wanna perform "Boom! Shake the Room" but theres a part in which FP says "you really want me to tell you whats up yo?! " ...somethin like that he says it quick like 3 times. is that what hes really saying or what. but yeah i figure id share my upcoming gig with everyone. I'm so excited, somethin I always wanted to do and I've been studying the way FP is onstage and im ready to go.
  3. mad skill yall..right here hahaha - and no it aint me lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLn45-7Pn2Y
  4. Well it was expected since 50 and G-Unit are invovled that the parental advisory sticker would be put back on. No surprise. meh..not sure if im gonna like this album
  5. yeah and why isnt it happening? All this time, seriously. C'mon Jeff and MORE SPECIFICALLY WILL ...lets get going lol
  6. thats exactly how I feel Ted. I'm like lost right now with how I feel about him quiting music.
  7. Would I continue to support him in other areas? I don't know. I always have and always Will be a JJFP/Will Smith music fan first. I've only seen about 4 of Will's movies. Him playing someone else doesn't interest me as much as hearing who he really is and what he thinks as a person. His music is as real as he gets and I really like that and it hurts that hes not doing it anymore. It's not like I'm hating on him, I mean I'll never say I hate him its just right now its tough to say.
  8. I hate to say this too but Will ruined his own rap career. One album shy of 10? A milestone in music. Thats ridiculous. All these movies killed him and I dont buy that Lost&Found crap either. It hasnt changed anything one bit. I'm sick of all these "comebacks to rap" ..you either rap or you dont. Stop playing games with the fans.
  9. Funny how I made a post about this two days ago lol... Wow, I don't know how I feel. I'm gonna vent right now actually. I think Will is stupid. As soon as him being on tour for 6-8 months with Jazzy worldwide never happened, I knew he wasn't fully back into the music. He's a hypocrite. He really is. Every time he drops an album its "Will Smith's comeback to rap music". Freakin be consistent or dont do it at all. Seriously. Its getting old now, I'm sick and tired of waiting the last 4 years of new music material and only really got a small portion of news. He obviously doesnt care about music anymore. He can say "how hes found himself and the true rapper in him" and all this bull**** but we all know hes playing on us. Jada acts too, she can bring the money in to. Movies are so time consuming. Poor Jeff, at least he STAYS TRUE. Its not '95, Will isnt young anymore. Hes getting older and if he wants to be involved with music, NOW IS THE TIME. Go ahrad and sign yourself on to 5 more movies, talk about maintaining your music fans. There so much music out there now that I'm fine without new material from Will. Would I love it? Yes, but its ridiculous now. If he wants to stop one album short of a milestone 10, then go ahead. Pathetic. His albums list should be as long as his movies porfolio. /end rant im sorry guys, call me a hater if you wish but I'm fed up.
  10. I was just thinking about Will and his presence in the rap game and the new album. My points: 1. If Will wants to stay a force in the rap game like the late 90s, he needs to be consistent. That is the keyword people. Consistency is a key. Jordan didn't win those six rings by playing inconsistent. Will's rate of albums per years is every 3 years. Thats not good whatsoever. Not only does dropping an album every three years lose attention of your listeners, it also loses your credibilty as a rapper. Nobody remembers you the next year unless you keep hitting them with new material. Whether it'd be a single or a cameo apperance on a track, Will needs to be out there. Will is what? 38 years old? He needs to keep proving he can do this. Think about it, Dre is 41, Diddy is around 37 same with Jay-Z and Eminem is 35 as well. And they say Will is too old? "Switch" cleared the way for him but the way is crowded again. He needs to keep doing his thing. 2. Keep the Clubbangers coming. Barely anything on mainstream Rap has substance to it. We all know that. Will needs to keep the catchiest tracks coming. "Switch" to "Wild Wild West" to "Jiggy" ...y'all know what I mean. People remember the hooks. You need to have the people singing the hooks in their head to keep you in there minds. I think the problem with "Party Starter" and why it didnt do as well as "Switch" was there was just "too much" in it. Too long lyrics, keep it simple to the point. 3. Next album needs to be BIG. It's album number 10. Will can't sleep on this. Plus technically 2007 would be 20 years since Rock the House. Jeff needs to be all over this album production wise. If Will is going to have some guests, keep it to 2 or 3 and depending on the guest (lets say Snoop or Mary J) ..then its a defninite single. No question about that. Its not a bad idea to have another big name help you and your record out. Materialwise, Will needs to keep saying how he feels. One thing I loved about L+F was "Mr. Nice Guy" and how he called out people. He should keep doing it and stop calling shots out to a "general" crowd like on "Born to Reign" or "Dont Say Nothin"...you know what I mean. Let 'em know who the vet is. Other from that, the writing keeps getting better. ....just my thoughts. I dont know why, but I keep feeling like Will is done or almost near done with his music career. It just doesn't seem like he cares anymore.
  11. Man so a few days ago I decided to pop in this will smith mix cd I have and im skimmin through tracks and I guess I wasnt feeling the cd until I came to Wild Wild West. Man what a dope song. I dont think it even real qualifys too much as a movie track because the lyrics could easily fit Kool Moe Dee version. Killer production and killer lyrics and Dru Hill with the hook - dope.
  12. Dope! I can't wait to hear that track. DJ Premier is one of the best in the game and since its New York flavor, and DJ Premier doing it, its prolly gotta be like Rakim's "When I Be On Tha Mic" ...I can't wait!
  13. thanks alot TopDawg! I gotta give the album more of a listen but right now Jay-Z is one of my favorite rappers. I dont know why I didnt really pay much attention to him years ago. I loved "Dirt off" and "99 problems" when they came out. I have his whole Discog on my comp now and I'm really lovin the Jigga. Hes one of the best out there period.
  14. This is something I've always wondered myself, in a '93 interview about "Code Red" on this site, Will says he was bumpin "The Chronic" and how it was a hot record yet he says "Gangsta Rap is so wack" and its what made him leave music to pursue movies. I think he just doesn't like how gangsta rap ate up the industry at the time. who knows
  15. Its stuff like this which turns me off to DMX. I love "Lord Give Me A Sign" but then again because of this, it makes it seem like hes a hypocrit. Just like Kanye and his "Jesus Walks" then admitting he looks at porn all the time. If rappers are going to preach about Lord, Jesus and have uplifting songs, then act upon them in your life instead of getting in trouble and what not. If your gonna make a spiritual song thats positive, be positive and live your life like that, if not than your just saying the Lord's name in vain. It's garbage and meaningless.
  16. man, I listen to Biggie sometimes but I think alot of his songs are garbage. I have his 3 CDs on my comp - all except the one that came out last year. I only like Juicy, Big Poppa, One More Chance(Remix), Everyday Struggle, Mo Money Mo Problems, and my favorite songs I Love the Dough and Sky is the Limit. If he did more songs like "Skys the Limit" ..id consider him up there with Pac but I think hes too overrated in my opinion.
  17. Brakes congrats dude!! that is awesome - and Im so glad you asked about new JJFP material lol...cant meet Jeff and not ask him any questions haha!
  18. I love "Money Maker" I'm definitly going to check this album out
  19. I dont think these two albums are similar at all. If anything I'd say LL's "10" album but "Born to Reign" is real different, I dont think its like anything of LL's that much.
  20. Jim, you've crossed the line. It's one thing to wish that someone fails, but it's ridiculous to start wishing harm on someone, even if you don't like them. Chances are that in NY, if he wrecks himself, he'll wreck someone else in the process. Lets not take things too far. Yeah your right man. I'm sorry bout that, that was over the line.
  21. Today is it, 5 years since those vicious attacks against the United States on September 11th, 2001. Its hard to believe how long its been since that and I remember the day like it was yesterday. I just happen to be going to the city tomorrow and my friends and I are going to stop at the WTC Ground Zero memorial before we goto WWE Monday Night Raw at Madison Square Garden. Lets all take a moment and just reflect on everything.. Do you remember where you were/what you were doing? I was young, I was 12 years old in 8th grade. in middle school. I remember sitting in health class and it was around 11:20AM (2 and half or so hours after the attacks) and the principal went on the loudspeaker and told us what was going on. I couldn't believe it. Going home that day watching the brutal images on television - just wow. It was jaw-dropping. As an American prior to 9/11, I know me personally and others haven't even thought of terror and didn't think something ever bad would happen to our country. Wow were we caught off-guard. I'm not sure what the plans are for the future of Ground Zero but I hope one day they can rebuild the towers again and fill in the large gap in the New York City skyline again. God Bless American everyone! Say some prayers for those who underservingly died and all their families. My heart goes out to all of them.
