  1. "Code Red" is a must-own album for any JJFP/Will Smith fan. It's a flawless, timeless classic. That '93 masterpiece is THE album to own. Its the one album that I can always listen to basically everyday since I bought it (no lie not the whole album but at least 3 tracks). I'll just do all albums... 1. Code Red 2. Lost & Found 3. Big Willie Style 4. Homebase 5. Willenium 6. He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper 7. And In This Corner 8. Rock the House 9. Born to Reign
  2. Thats mine but also when Will's dad doesnt take him back. That one brought me to tears.
  3. I dont think there is an instrumental version.
  4. i can hear it, its there. "back up bitch!" ..lol and i like it..adds to the song.
  5. Definatly. Homebase will never be a weak album. There is no such thing as a weak album its just "least-listened"...I dont really listen to any album besides "Code Red". But its gettin nicer and warmer out so "Homebase" usually takes place in my music rotation. My favs off this album are "Summertime", "Ring My Bell"(Remix), "I'm All That"...
  6. Hey awesome thread. really interesting. I was in 5th grade in the 1998-99 school year and we were on a trip to New York City. This girl Julia was sitting in the seat across from me. She had her CDs with her and I wanted to listen. She had the "Big Willie Style" CD and I was enjoying listening to "Miami" and "Gettin Jiggy Wit It". I remember my mom also bought the BWS cassette because she actually liked it. lol. crazy. So I would listen to that cassette at night before i went to sleep (back when i had a cassette player). I loved it. Then in 2000, I heard the song "Will 2k" and I loved that. It wasnt until April 2001 in which I bought my new CD player and some CDs at Walmart. Funny thing was, I saw "Code Red" there but I didn't get it. Instead I got Big Willie Style and Willenium on CD. I loved listen to those CDs. Then I started looking online for more Will Smith CDs and learning about him. During this whole time, I loved watching the Fresh Prince on TV. I found Wes's site and I went to that a lot. In '02 I found this site and learned alot about JJ+FP. Then on AOL in May 02 "Black Suits Comin" was on it and I loved it. I then joined this board that summer and I collected every album! That was my quest. And as the summers followed, I collected singles (still alot to go tho). Now Im still here in 2005 and I'm lovin it...especially right now!!! Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince FOREVER!
  7. Okay, the logic behind this song is that im actually a really nice guy to everyone. but lately alotta typical high school drama has gotten to me and i cant just cave in to it. 8. "Will 2k" the best party song ever? Uhmm..i dont know about that. It only was good for like 4 months (Nov 99 to Feb 00) then it was easily discarded. I'd choose "Boom! Shake the Room" anyday over that lol
  9. its true, Will even showed a clip of it two nights ago on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno
  10. Nope, JJFP have never put lyrics in their inserts which really sucks.
  11. "1000 kisses" and "Freakin it" werent even close to being hits. Those songs were poorly selected as singles. Not bad tracks just not the same quality as others.
  12. Wes man this is awesome. Forever I wanted to have these videos on my computer! Thanks so much bro!!!
  13. yayay!!!! when do u get back to school so i have somethin to look forward to? *points to calendar...damn kevtastic goes back to school hell yeah!!!* haha
  14. Definatly. That track released as a single will be such a vital move for album sales. I'm happy though because it topped that predicted 80K in its first week. Looking really good for Will though.
  15. People underestimate Will as an emcee. He's definatly one of the best rappers ever to grasp a mic. The reason why people don't take him seriously is because of the Columbia era. They totally made people forget Will was the Fresh Prince of Philly and had five albums before signing in '97. They merged his movies and music careers together which may have seemed like a good idea at the time (for sales i guess) but in the long run it left people without knowledge. Columbia never released any decent tracks as singles. "Just the Two of Us' was probably the best single ever released simply because it was actually a deep song about his son Trey. But songs like "Men In Black", "Black Suits Comin", "1000 kisses", and "Freakin It" just didn't cut it. Singles dont always mean party songs. "Tell Me Why" must be released as a 2nd single to destroy the Columbia image. If you listen to tracks like "Shadow Dreams", "The Rain", "Caught in the Middle" to "Born to Reign"..etc. These songs prove how deep and dope of a songwriter/story writer the Fresh Prince is.
  16. Definatly in the whip for me! Me and my boy Anthony have been bumpin' this album since I first showed him it. He got a copy himself so we cruise around blastin it!! Feel the bass shaking me...especially on "Party Starter"! I do blast it in my house when my parents aren't home but its just better cruisin' around.
