I still can't get with that ideology TopDawg. It can easily be argued that the reason Will is at number 163 on the charts right now and not at a higher position is that in addition to resistance from the industry, he hadn't released a single in 6 months and no one has really talked about Lost and Found for 4 and a half months. As an artist who promotes positive music, Will will undoubtably meet resistance from the industry, and such resistance will have negative effects on his albums, but by placing the blame soley on the industry and ignoring the poor promotion and the lack on interest in the album due to the absence of more singles, you're turning a blind eye to the main problem Lost and Found has had to deal with. In saying, "the reason why Will hasn't sold more is not putting out more singles but the industry itself and the people at large," you are in essence intimating that 163 is the glass ceiling for Will at this present time and that there was nothing he nor interscope could have done in their promotion of Lost and Found to change that. I don't believe that Lost and Found would be at 163 if the album were better promoted and a single had been released earlier to further garner interest in the album.

Tim, I know this may be a long shot, but do you think it would be possible to get one? I know they're both pretty busy but perhaps we can corner one or the other. We could have a tread devoted to questions and you could pick the top 10 questions to ask in the event of an interview.

I don't think that it is a big an issue as it seems. White women have played semi-love interests in the past. MIB, BB, I Robot. I think that the director tries to cast someone who resembles the chacter that has been written as opposed to forcing a role on someone that doesn't fit that character. Is there a bit of racism in hollywood... yes... But while you're asking ourselves why interracial couples aren't shown as much as you would like, you should also be asking yourselves why minorities find it hard to get roles in Hollywood that don't portray them in a stereotypical manner. That should make you mad. Why are asians hugely underrepresented in Hollywood. That should make you furious. Why is it that black women generally portray "hoes" or "baby mamas" with attitudes in a lot of these films... The list keeps going. Headway is being made on the interracial from, but these other concerns remain stagnant. I'd like to hear you address those as well...

So Ted... Lets make you an Interscope promoter/distributer... What would you do differently from what we're saying... We're saying that Party Starter should have come out in late June/Early July. Will should have performed, in addition to Switch, Party Starter or another track from the album at venues where he was allowed to perform more than one song. We're saying that he should have done a mini tour before he started shooting "Pursuit of Happyness." What are your points? What would you do differently... What is it that we don't agree on? State your points clearly. Don't bring in KRS-One, 50 Cent or other random examples... Lets focus on what Will could have done to make the album a success... Go ahead... you have the stage...

Agreed... I don't think that we can speak definitively because none of us are sure of what the dynamics are behind the promotion of the album and we're not exactly sure of what the roles of the respective companies are. Promotion could have been, and can still be better. I hope none of ya'll are surprised... I've been saying that this could happen for a while now.

They'll release Party Starter. It would be highly ridiculous to have the video and not release it.

It's just not doable. Party Starter has a music video waiting in the wings, it's on the radio. It has to be supported, bottom line. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. The chain reaction has already begun, lets let it run its course... But again, I must ask, where were all you people when I was advocating that Party Starter come out in June or at the beginning of July? You had to realize that a late release of Party Starter would result in a later release of any subsequent singles... The majority of you guys seemed to be in the "lets milk switch" or the "Will doesn't care about album sales" camps. I find it ironic that people are complaining now.

I still think Will at his worst is better than 50 Cent and Nelly at their best, don't you? That "Born To Reign" verse was the best verse spit by any rapper that year, Will could throw up on rest of the album and he still sounds better than wack rappers. ← That doesn't make the album good. A wack album is better than a wacker album. That doesn't make the wack album good all of a sudden.

I won't hate on Usher... He deserves to be on the list, but ahead of Denzel...? I don't know about that. Isn't it a rule that you can't be ahead of Denzel on black entertainment lists? I mean, it used to be that there's be a top 20 R&B artist list and Denzel was number 1... No one would be surprised.... "Denzel sings?" "I don't know, but it's Denzel, they had to put him on there."

Born 2 Reign is simply not as good as any of the other solo albums, especially Lost and Found... I don't think there's much of an argument there. Production was wack, lyrics were mediocre, album was rushed...

Well, I'm starting to think that regardless of album sales, Will will try his best to release Tell Me Why. He said that be believes that it is one of the best records he has written and he's talked about releasing it and doing a music video as well. He may have to bypass Interscope and use his Overbrook funds, but I don't think Overbrook is lacking, so that shouldn't be much of a problem. When it is released, I'm not sure that it will be much of a factor in album sales, but who knows... As long as people are feeling it, it's all good. Tell Me Why would have been in a better position had Party Starter come out earlier, but we'll see what happens from here on out.
