Yeah but there's a very big point in the album, if ya know what I mean... Will said that people will be shocked by the new album because it's very different from the other ones and harder, too! He did it because he said what he always wanted to say and it's not just an album, it's a piece of him! That gotta be done by Will because so many people talkin' trash bout him and it all really got on his nerves and so he really needed to bring out an album like that! Just listen to the lyrics carefully and u'll understand everything... :sonny: Well said E - Style-Greesy - E. :thumb:
-
We also have to realize that Will is getting older. There are some happy-go-lucky topics that can easily be addressed when you're teens and in your 20s... but he's going to be 37 this year... it's only natural that he would address more serious topics at some point in his career. Even more... hip hop needs the message that he's trying to convey through Lost and Found. Lost and Found is Will's style... it's part of him, be it a part of him we don't normally get to see. Would we know that this part of Will existed if he just kept doing party/happy tracks? I'm not sure we would. There's nothing pessimistic about Lost and Found. The content is just more mature and more serious.

I really don't want to get into it and I'm not going to argue with you, but I would advise you not to make such remarks. They can be very divisive and may offend people on this forum.
-
I saw your remark before you edited it. :poke: But in all realness, you have to realize that your remark may be offensive to Christians... the "second coming of Christ" remark was a bit much.

Lol, you're all alone on that assesment of the album. As Will said, he dug deeper within himself to write these lyrics and that Lost and Found is the result. Personally, I think the album is great. A person can only make so many feel good party tracks. An artist has to keep their music diverse and innovative or else it will get boring.

I wouldn't go that far hommie, even if it's just for humor.

Billboard Charts - May 14th, 2005 Tell Me Why. That's all I have to say at the moment.

Lol, hey... you said the reviewer made a point or 2. Just had to clarify that he really didn't. And really, in the scheme of things, it wouldn't matter what this reviewer said even if he wrote a good review of the album. As long as Will is at peace with himself and the fans are feeling the album for the most part, it's all good. We just don't like to see unadulterated hating, especially when it's not supported by facts... and when it's exaggerated to the point where someone who doesn't know that you're exaggerating would take you seriously.

It's a popularity contest, probably not a lot of us heard much of Mos Def, they don't know what they're missing, he's a dope mc! :poke: Lol, well I guess that's better than people knowing who Mos is and is about and choosing Jay and LL anyway. But still... I shed a single tear for people not knowing who Mos Def is... :poke:

:kekeke: Good job AJ. It looks pretty good.

It's depressing... yes... but at least we're not Houston. That's all I've been telling myself lately... then again, we did get mollywopped at home... I don't know what's going on though... Teams have really been getting decimated in the last couple of games... Celtics lost by 27 Rockets lost by 40 Sonics lost by 22 Wizards lost by 19 Indiana Lost by 15 and Dallas just lost by 25... I mean... what's really good? Those are the last 6 games to have been played... These playoffs suck. Somewhere, Kobe's lifting his weights in quiet anticipation of next season. I personally can't wait.

Why do Jay and LL have more votes than Mos Def... This doesn't make any sense. We are talking about the Lost and Found track, right... come on guys.

At this point, Switch is going to go gold. It's definite. If not in the US, worldwide.

It's the name of Nelson Mandela's foundation... Mandela was prisoner number 466 in 1964. He used that as the name of his foundation. The foundation's purpose is to spread awareness and to encourage health and educational development throughout Africa. It's also focussed largely on the HIV/AIDS epidemic in trying to raise money for research and the development of new drugs to combat the virus. Mandela asked Will to be an ambassador for the organization.

Well the reviewer's point is not simply that Will sounds like other people. If that were the point he was trying to make, that would be fine. His point is that Will is trying to steal the way other rappers flow and that in the process, the music he's created is horrible. That's a far more serious accusation and assesment of Will's performance than just saying that Will sounds like another rapper, wouldn't you agree? Rappers switch their flow up all the time depending on the beat they're flowing over. Mr. Niceguy certainly has a more aggressive beat, so name someone who sounds aggresive and Will will probably sound like that person at some point during the track. Party Starter is obviously a Ludacris-like track. I would assume anyone would sound like Luda over that beat and rhyming with the intensity that Will was rhyming. If Will came at Party Starter with the same flow he came with on Loretta, the track wouldn't be as good as it is. Now if you were to switch up the beat to something different, do you really think he'd still sound like Luda on Party Starter? The ability to switch up your flow shows skill and creativity on the emcee's part. When done, you'll undoubtedly sound like another rapper at some point, but that doesn't mean that you're stealing their flow or their style. That's a bit harsh by all accounts. What's funny is that some point or other in Lost and Found, Will seems to sound like everyone's favorite rapper, often while rhyming the same lyrics. It seems that people are searching for a reason not to like tracks. Who does Will sound like on Tell Me Why? Who does he sound like on Wave 'em Off? I'm sure if you serach hard enough, you can find someone he sounds like. Doesn't mean he's stealing their flow and that's the point the reviewer was implying. A point that is baseless.

Not even a costume party?
-
Are you talking about the reviewer... because he doesn't seem to have any good points whatsoever. Perhaps you can recount a few of his "points."
-
The beat could use a little work, but the lyrics more than make up for it. Thanx for making it available guys...

:kekeke: I can hear him now with one of his made up rhymes... Sticks and stones will break your bones, but having a baby in the back is really really wack.

Looks like they're showing the veteran some respect. How was the crowd's reaction to the songs?

These are US numbers... it would be cool if someone had worldwide numbers. :poke: -
Yeah... that guy is hilarious. While Phil is in the back of an ambulance shortly after having a heart attack... "Hey, if he still wants to get a burger, I can get Troy to swing by the drive through. With the siren on, we won't have to wait in line."
