This is a very good question. There is a similar trend worldwide. Why is Lost and Found relatively low on the charts whereas Switch has been high on the charts in many countries. It may take another single to get people really talking about the album overseas. Who knows at this point. It's even likely that people have associated Switch with Hitch and not with Lost and Found. We'll see how sales progress during the coming weeks.

According to scyhigh99, the reviewer doesn't like that kind of music either.

While waiting for the outrage to follow this post, I think I'll toss in my opinion. A true hip hop artist should not box himself into a specific genre of hip hop, but rather, he or she should explore as much as they feel is necessary. It keeps their work fresh and innovative. There are certainly other parts of Will's life that he wants to talk about and release to the world... "Just a CD? Na man, a piece of me." With the serious content, we get to see a part of Will we will never see in the party tracks. Life isn't only about the parties, the clubs and flying to Miami... Will took time to address a few serious topics and really dig within himself. You should be elated. Furthermore, look at the flack Will has gotten in the past for only releasing party stuff. Lost and Found is receiving critical acclaim from a lot of people for it's serious and mature content. Should he "run rhyme a vittle/ food for thought, or dumb the rhyme a little" just to sell? We all know the answer to that. Lastly, if not now, when will it be time for Will to release serious music? Seems like the time is now. He has some things to express, let him express them.

I think the wait for Tell Me Why is causing people to go crazy. It's all discussion so it's all good.

It's concievable that he can do both... go against the grain and sell. I don't necessarily see it as an either/or proposition. Look at Jesus Walks or a number of songs Mary J. has done. Even if Tell Me Why isn't a huge hit, I think people will see that Will has a bit of diversity on Lost and Found when they hear it. At the very least, Tell Me Why should revive interest in the album. As to whether it will be a huge hit or not, that's to be seen. It would have been better if Tell Me Why was the first single he released, but I don't think people will react to it negatively when it comes out as the second single. As for those who are comparing it to Jada's Why... the comparison is almost laughable. Now I'm gonna go play Diamonds Are Forever.

The only reason that I've pursued this type of conversation is that peope are saying things like "this is horrible news," "i dont give a f*** about his flicks... this is such crap." Those are pretty strong sentiments to hold. It's almost as if people don't respect his film career. Really, what other conclusion can be drawn?

The good thing is that he's making appearances, most likely in the major cities. However, it doesn't seem that these are announced appearances. I wonder what Jeff's motivation for doing it this way is. It seems that Will wanted to do the big stadium sized concerts. Well... it's all good.

Well yeah "Party Starter's" sorta like MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This", it has a lot of rhthym, but it has some conscious lyrics in there too, it wasn't just your average dance song: "My my music hits me so hard Makes me wanna say oh my lord Thank you for blessing me With a mind to rhyme..." Yeah... it's better then 50 cent club songs: thug, dub, bud, bub, g-uniiit, gangsta, g'd up, zup ni*ga, bounce, ass, chea. I was under the impression that Will wrote tracks for Lost and Found even while he was filming... and since he himself has said that he'd written upwards of 50 tracks for the album... it's reasonable to assume as such. It turns out that Tell Me Why is the only track actually on Lost and Found that he'd written prior to the time he took time off to focus on music. Tell Me Why is one of the tightest tracks on the album, so my contention that Will can still write good music while filming and doing other things stands firm. What I'm focusing on is that come August, according to Tim, Will will have taken a year and 4 months away from filming to focus on music. Let him get back to movies for 3-4 months and then spend a little more time on music after that. No need to rush back into the studio to record another album. Filming another movie between album releases should have no adverse effects on the quality of music he produces. What's more, he's filming a different type of movie.... not the conventional summer blockbuster but a rather serious role... The general consensus on this forum is that people would like to see Will in more serious acting roles when he films. What's confusing is that now that he's doing something a bit more serious, there are people who still seem to be unhappy, even after he's stated the amount of time that he would concentrate on music. You can't please everyone all the time.

Yeah, Never Too Much is really an original near classic. 1000 kisses really can't touch it.
