J-Lo is fading away with every year, she was the thing the first 2 years when she got the hits, then slowly she fell apart with acting and singing, hell she can't dance like she used to anymore, not enough INPUT. I just had to go back... What do you guys think about this track... the beat, the lyrics, the message behind the lyrics, the emotion... I've been stuck on this track for some time now, and I can't listen to it enough. The beat is nothing short of epic. Heavy drums, the violins... you just have to nod your head. The lyrical word play is dynamic and engaging. I just wish it were a full track. You and you boyz trying to decide, what to write But your pen is a sword The blade has been forged Young minds getting gorged States have been altered by liquor, by weed And then hate gets exalted as art falls to greed Personally, even though this intro is short, Will does a masterful job (and I mean masterful) in presenting to the listener the state of hip hop. The "false accounts" rhyme is priceless... blunt, and direct "this is how it is" speak. Real talk. The track also has plenty of emotion. I remember actually being shocked the first time I heard it. The inflection in his voice presents his frustration perfectly. There's emotion here rivaling Tell Me Why, it's incredible. Truly a great work of hip hop... What do you guys think of the track?

Willie wasn't as widespread in the US however. Perhaps in the UK and Europe...lol, but the meaning is totally different there... Let me dig up the black album and give it a listen...

I wouldn't go as far as calling J-Lo talentless... she can dance... and she can sing, I won't lie... She can also act... But she just hasn't reached that level that Will is on. She should definitely be lower.

The remix's beat is too simple. No scratching... it's just a beat. Also, part of it is that Will glides the original's beat much better. The tempo also suits his words much better. It's that... "I'm cool with it, but I'm still goingt to talk about you" beat. Are you guys saying that if it came down to a choice between the two for a spot on the album, you'd rather have the remix version over the original... blasphemy!!! :kekeke: theres plenty of scratching MaxFly you just havent heard it.. it starts off with jeff scratching a lot.. with the sample "clap ya hands to what hes doin" then during the chorus he puts in samples off get back..lean back..drop it like its hot and summertime.. u prob cant hear it properly cause westwood n jjfp is talkin over it No, I heard the scratching in the beginning, which is great. You're right Tim, there is quite a bit there. What I mean is that the beat that Will rhymes over in the first verse is pretty simple (there are plenty of places where a little hesitation scratching could have improved on what is already there). Don't get me wrong, it's great for a remix, no doubt, and the switch to dirt off your shoulders (love that Timberland beat, killed it when the black album came out), lean back, and then summertime is cool. But neither the initial beat, nor any of the subsequent beats really fit with the lyrics and the flow as well as the original. That's not to knock the remix, but the original is so much better in this respect. It's like I said earlier, though some people will genuinely like the remix more, I think that there are people who just like the fact that JJ is on it. I must ask this again, if you guys had a choice between having only the remix or the original on the album, would you really choose the remix? It's not that serious, but the original is my second favorite track on the album, so I just had to ask.

Everyone has basically broken it down clearly. It's been said, but I'll reiterate... Will has quite a lot on his plate. His family, movies, music, Overbrook, charity work, Mandela's 46664... he's literally the hardest working man in Hollywood. Also, I don't think he wants to be everywhere, in your face like some of these other stars. You don't see Top Cruise and Denzel everywhere. However, like Oprah said a while back, he's done good things for people and fans that people will never know about. As a fan, all I want is for Will to continue releasing quality material. That's what's most important.
