  1. Wow, Busta Rhymes... I haven't picked up anything of his since Extinction Level Event. Incidentally, that was put aside very quickly...
  2. I'll repeat... I think Kanye is a bit overrated as well... However, though you may not have been trying to associate the two directly, lol, you put his name in the same sentence with Nick Cannon hommie. Nick Cannon. :hilarious: If you want to say Kanye wouldn't be able to hang with the originators, that's fine, I'll agree with you... but drawing any correlation between Kanye West and Nick Cannon is going overboard. It's like Chuck D.'s recent statement about Vanilla Ice and the Fresh Prince... I understood where he was coming from, but those names need to be kept far from eachother as to avoid association.
  3. Overall, it was a favorable review. Thanx Tim. But I'm hardpressed to believe that Lost and Found will sell 10 million copies, even though I would like it to.
  4. Will is really doing his thing on the production tip as well. Overbrook must be doing pretty well.
  5. I think these hip-hop magazines need peeps like us to drop knowledge for the mainstream heads. KRS-ONE and Chuck D are genious beyond albums, they write books too(Now run get "Ruminations"/It's a book that I published for the healing of this nation), "It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back" is the greatest album ever 'cause Chuck D is set to release a book based on the idea of creating that album, how many albums could you say that drop that much knowledge to write a book about it? Like I said before it shouldn't matter how much you say, it's what you say that counts, a lot of lines today in hip-hop are fillers, back then every line mattered it seems, Vanilla Ice was the only wack mc it seemed, now there's a whole army of wack rappers("it's like a circus now/with a bunch of clowns/and a bunch of cliques i could probably rap circles around"-FP), there'd be no need for Nick Cannon or Kanye West to pick up the mic if it was the golden age, they'd got burned. Now you could like Kanye West and Jay-Z if you choose but you can't put them among the all-time greats without knowing the history, what they're doing now was done better 15 years ago and KRS' producing of "South Bronx" is better than any of Kanye West's productions, it's all love though man. :peace: You may not have respect for Kanye West, and even I think he's overrated (his career is still very young), yet it's extremely disrespectful to put his name in the same sentence with Nick Cannon. I'm certainly not going to go around extolling Kanye West until he's really proven himself, but I also won't put him down until he's shown what he's really about. He's shown promise, that's all we can say at this point. He still has a long way to go, and he's not in the top 10 of anything yet. He certainly doesn't have anything on Will, LL, KRS-One or Rakim... I can keep going... but lets not put him down excessively... and mentioning his name anywhere near a sentence containing Nick Cannon's name is the definition of excessive.
  6. Haha, yeah, I had the case too. But those shades never fit. :nono:
  7. Actually, I'm not too sure it isn't his ex-wife that he's talking about. Again, like in Loretta, I doubt that Will would use the person's real name, and there are many lyrics in Ms. Holy Roller that point to the person being his ex-wife. It's all speculation, but I think Will is too classy to put his wife on blast like that, and avoids that by not mentioning her real name or her real relation to him.
  8. I used to have the Burger King Wild Wild West Shades... You got them depending on which meal you bought. No shame... don't know where they are now though.
  9. Wave 'em off is not a poor track. It's not as good as some of the others, but it's far from a poor track. I'll have to go with We Won't from all the tracks I've heard. From the tracks I legally own, lol... If you can't dance... Note, I don't dislike "If you can't dance," it's just my least favorite of all of them... Personally, I can't vote for wave 'em off because the lyrics are too tight. I rhyme along every time, without fail. From a distance, you can witness... the glow from my entourage Gravitate towards the ambiance See me and my men on CNN, Then the birth of the inevitable hate begins Cause hate is the child of greatness The glue between Neo & the Smiths in the Matrix Yin to the yang, it just must be Ask anybody with a Grammy or an MVP
  10. In the US, there are a number of stations to catch it on. Nick at Nite plays it at least twice a night, sometimes there are random marathons. I believe BET plays it a few times a week. "The N" plays it 10 times a week... It's played anywhere from 60-75 times in the US a week. Probably half of those are repeats though and it really depends which channels you have. Luckily, I have all of them... :wiggle: Check this out... Fresh Prince Listings for Boston, MA
  11. That's great. These tracks are going to be everywhere this summer. Soon, you won't be able to go anywhere without hearing Party Starter, and that's exactly how it should be. :kekeke:
  12. Yeah, a John Legend/Will collaboration definitely needs to be on his Will's next album... John Legend's the truth... Anthony Hamilton's legit as well. Another collaboration that would be great is a Will and Musiq team up.
  13. That's unacceptable... :slap: The thing with Brittney and Justin is that they're considered Pop. Usher's not considered Pop, he's considered R&B. We don't want to have Will going back to having people think he's pop, but that's exactly what a collab with them would do. Just the association... A collab with Usher or Ginuwine is much more palpable. Something with Destiny's Child would certainly be off the chain. But no Justin... not right now anyway... Now 50... that's just too much. It's not Will's style. 50 represents everything Will is against in hip hop. The only reason I would like to see a Will and 50 collabo is so that Will can rip 50 on his own joint like eminem did with Jay on "Renegade." So in the near future, when Nas etherizes 50, he can spit like he did on the original Ether... "and Big Will ripped you on your own joint." :thumb: Happy 500 to me by the way... :wiggle:
  14. I wonder what the riddim will sound like. For those who remember the diwali riddim that took over the summer in 2003, this may be the next big one.
  15. When that remix hits the clubs in the Northeastern US, there will be a lot of people feeling it. The beat is crazy... Some people just aren't feeling that reggae beat, but it's all good. Everyone has their likes and dislikes.
  16. Though summer is still 2 months away, at this point, I certainly agree. If not released by the end of April, there doesn't seem to be enough time to have Tell Me Why really grip audiences before we would want Party Starter released to take over the summer. Yet, if Tell Me Why is released soon, Party Starter can still be released somewhere around the beginning of July... but, lately, it's looking less and less feasible. We'll see how things turn out. Incidentally, I'll be bumping Party Starter in the summer (loud) regardless of whether it's been released or not... parties, in the whip, outside... people will know...
  17. Yeah, Will should definitely be on it... Outside of him, not sure who else... would love to see Common on a track...
  18. Welcome to the board Princess...
  19. Nashville Rage After becoming the first rapper to ever win a Grammy, Will Smith stepped mostly away from the music biz, turning his attention to his acting career in which he’s seen success in both television and film (his title role in Ali got him an Oscar nod). But now Smith’s back on the music scene, with his fourth major-label album since 1997 (his first for Interscope, after a long tenure on Columbia). This latest musical offering, Lost & Found, aims to prove that Smith’s still a relevant factor in the rap game. The album opens strong with Here He Comes, which borrows from the old Spider-Man theme. From there, Smith does what he does best on records: party. Solid jams like Party Starter and the infectious single Switch set the tone for what is actually a better-than-decent album. On some cuts, Smith deviates from his friendly image to vent some of his frustrations. The song Mr. Niceguy shows Smith responding to some of the rappers who have taken shots at him over the years, and Ms. Holy Roller is a personal message to his ex-wife, Sheree Zampino, who has recently gotten religion. Overall, this is one of Smith’s best musical works in a while. Over the years, he has proven his worth as an all-around entertainer, but this album proves that he still has what it takes to rock the mike. — CRISIS
  20. Yeah I am man!! :kekeke: We all had to dress up for that party! That's why i'm wearing that hat and that make-up! See Lerkot, that was a legit question after all. :hilarious: :cwm: Werd! You can always ask me anything man, and if i don't like answering, i just don't do it! :kekeke: okeeey.... you got bra? :thatswrong:
  21. I agree... Buy ya'll, if Boyz 2 Men or Whitney Houston comes calling, that's a different thing. :werd: If Michael gets back with Boyz II Men and Whitney Houston has successful rehab that's a possibility, a collab with Keith Sweat would also be hot, Teddy Riley could produce it. :kool: Haha, Whitney Houston rehab... Then I guess just Boys 2 Men then...
