  1. Are you a West Wing fan by any chance, Schnazz?
  2. It was late at night so however unlikely it is not as bothering that there were no other cars in the tunnel. The trucks couldn't smash the car because they were machines who were operating on the old system, 3 laws safe. They could not have been used to harm a person, but the new robots had the uplink override which made it possible for them to try and kill Spooner. I actually saw it a different way. I don't think it would be smart to crash and risk the destruction of two USR trucks and hundreds of robots simply to crush one car. If you watch again, only one robot was deployed to kill Will. It was only after Will destroyed the first robot that others deployed to attack him. The trucks were used to box Will's car in while the robots attacked him so that he could not maneuver. My guess is that Vici anticipated that it would only take one or two to kill him. As for why there was no one else on the road... it was late. Vici also designed and controlled much of Chicago's security systems. She may very well have rerouted traffic so that there would be no witnesses.
  3. I took my car in to be serviced today. Hopefully I can get it back early enough to participate in the full podcast. The garage closes at 4, and with my luck, they'll call me at 3.
  4. Ale, you gave a generalized answer. The problem is that it's the same thing I hear from people who don't like the movie. Basically, you haven't told me anything new. What I'm looking for is details... specific things that have lead people to dislike the movie. What were the plot holes, for instance. I don't so much care about changing your mind or you changing mine. I'm concerned with figuring out what, specifically, people don't like about it.
  5. Lol, for some reason, when people mention plotholes, that generally seems to be the case. For example, people cited the fact that Will used some liquid to cover his tracks in I Am Legend and that we never found out what it was and we never saw him using it again... apparently, a plot hole. Problem is that we were shown that the liquid was vinegar, and we saw him use it in other instances. Another one was that the museum pond he was fishing in actually had fish, and that didn't make any sense given the fact that all the fish should have died by then. It doesn't really stretch the imagination to think that he must clean the pond, feed the fish, and set it up so that the water is recycled... when that is one of your few sources of fresh food, you'll do whatever is necessary to preserve it. There are a bunch of other things... it's just a matter of using your imagination and going with the clues that are provided. I personally don't enjoy movies where they tell you everything.
  6. You're offering generalizations. I was looking for a few specifics. What plot holes? What, concerning the script, was bad? What about the movie was boring? Don't take this the wrong way, but responses like yours are why I started this thread. I always seem to get generalizations, but seldomn any solid examples or instances.
  7. Other than the complaint that it didn't follow the original short stories closely, why do I see a lot of general dislike for it? I thought it was a great movie... one of my favorite Will Smith movies, infact. For those of you who don't like it, why is that?
  8. I think there's plenty more to tell if a good script can be devised. We have a small colony on people left on the planet. 5.4 billion people died in the space of 3 years. Hordes of infected humans are roaming the planet, slowly organizing a society... The only problem is that Will dies. A sequel wouldn't be nearly successful without him. I think it's a bad idea only because Will will be unavailble... but there's certainly still a very good story to tell.
  9. I agree completely... I don't even find it funny. I just find it sad that people can delude themselves to that degree. It's actually a little scary.

  11. And so start the apologies... http://www.jazzyjefffreshprince.com/forum/...mp;#entry172767 Credit goes to gosia for the article. For anyone who's confused, this is the network that actually published the original gossip article. They're the ones who wrote the story. So the people who actually published the story are apologizing because they realized that their own published work was "false and misleading. The quotes attributed to Mr. Smith misrepresented Mr. Smith's actual remarks." Note that they didn't say misinterpreted... this wasn't some sort of misunderstanding... They said "misrepresented," meaning represented falsely. Wilreign, do you have any idea when the JDL will be apologize? Will that be soon?
  12. That's one down... JDL should be next considering WENN was the source of their information and what lead them to comdemn Will...
  13. Happy New Year to everyone. I hope everyone's 2007 was great but that 2008 will be even better!
  14. The Lakers had a horrible game last night, but for the most part, they've been playing well for the last few weeks. I fully expect them to bounce back. Not a good look on the short shorts though. I found it funny that they changed them at halftime. Someone must have complained. My Celts have been running things. It's such a blessing to be a Bostonian around this time. The Sox, the Pats, the Celts... Good times. Incidentally, I'm hearing word that T-Mac might be unhappy in Houston. It's still in the rumor stages, but that should be interesting if he's moved before the trade deadline. All in all, Houston and Utah have surprised me this year. They are playing horribly and if Portland and NO continue to play well, Houston and Utah may be on the outside looking in come April. Surprising to say the least.
  15. I think that may be what you're missing out on, and where the confusion stems from. They did not publish what they "understood from that quote." They purposfully used it and twisted it to make it sound as if he said something that he didn't say and didn't believe. No where in Will's quote did Will say that he believes Hitler was a good person, but somehow, that became the headline of the gossip article. So understand this clearly... they didn't misunderstand him... they purposefully twisted what he said so that they could get a sensational headline out of it. If that's the case, whoever runs that organization needs to refresh their reading skills. They are either highly ignorant or they jumped at this opportunity to further their agenda. No, it's not disgusting to mention Hitler. Let's settle that right now, because I don't want to have to address this again. Upwards of a million American men and women either died or were wounded in World War II. If it were not for the US intervention, the Allies would not have won the War. We have more than earned the right to talk about Hitler. I understand that it is a sensitive subject for Jewish people, but there is a point where one can become overly sensitive, and Will Smith's comments may very well be that point. He did not address Hitler in a flattering way, he did not say he was good. If you disagree with the comments he made, you're free to do that and argue the merits of the comment... but do not lie about what the man said. And yes, putting out a press statement comdemning someone for saying something he clearly did not say is disgusting. Moreover, refusing to apologize for the comdemnation is utterly disgusting. When you realize you're wrong, own up to it. And I want to also make this clear... this isn't just a Will thing... it goes for anyone... whether it be Tom Cruise or Flava Flav. Regardless of who it's done to, it's wrong.
  16. Not to hijack Topdawg's topic, but are you stalking me ? If you are, could you remind me what my prediction was ? I forgot and I was supposed to be the one who wrote it lol. And FYI, my predictions are almost always wrong. Hah, in yo face. Lol... I think you said 160 in the US.
  17. Thanks Schnazz. While it is a great accomplishment, I still want that superbowl win. It won't be complete if we don't get it... and knowing Belicek, he has our guys focussed.
