yeah true, i do care about what they are saying, but beats are important. Theres a lot of artists that say a lot of cool stuff but i find the songs boring so i dont bother to listen. Im really picky with the artists i like bcoz i want them to have great beats and have something decent to say. There arnt too many that can pull off both. I think Julie's hit it on the nose. It's hard to listen to music with great lyrics but a sub par beat. A beat can really enchance the quality of a piece of music, adding a whole new dimension to what is said. If you've ever read lyrics for certain songs, you'd wonder why they get as much play as they do... and then you hear the beat and you realize that no one is listening to the words.

I was close to clicking on it yesterday when I was reading a break down of some of the advantages of being certain races, but I wasn't sure what would happen so I just stuck to what I was. Incidentally, does anyone know the advantage of being a wizard? I've looked, but there are no details. I think we have a really new version of the game. 40% better at spying, or something. I thought the elves had that ability?

Yeah, I agree. A lot of people place the blame solely on the record companies, but the masses are just as complicit in the matter. It's true that record companies and the industry as a whole have a lot of sway in what people like... there's a lot of indoctrination taking place... they are pushing the sort of lifestyles we see in the music videos and perpetuating a lot of the violence we hear and see in rap music. However, we do have to question whether they would continue to produce and fund that sort of music if the masses didn't crave it as much as they seem to now. I think that the bottom line with these companies is money, and they'll do whatever they think is best to be as profitable as possible. If conscious hip hop was what was really selling, you'd see a slew of companies focus on that and there would be less focus on the Mike Joneses and East Side Boyz of the world. If hip hop is going to be saved, it's going to have to start with the hearts and minds of the people consumming the garbage that is put out today. It's going to take a cultural shift... not just a few good MCs. The last point is why I don't mind Will acting. He's a black man projecting a positive image of black men. Certainly sounds like something Chief would say.

I hope we can get Penny up here in Boston. He could likely play point or 2 guard for us. Delonte West has been playing well, but having three big swingmen... Paul P., Szcerbiak, and Penny would really help us. The question remains, can Penny still play? He hasn't played much at all this season, but he's been working out.

It's only a matter of time. The rules I've read say that the more soldiers you have, the more damage you'll be able to do, and the more likely you'll inflict casualties. You know, all this talk might be scaring away cookies. :ohdear:

Incidentally, when we say get in the game as quickly as possible, we're for real. The more you fall behind, the harder it is to catch up as someone said earlier.

I'm willing to bet that the person who would play Will would be a nascent actor; someone not well known. Someone actually said Dave Chappelle? That was a joke I hope... his voice would kill it instantly. So would Chris Rock's... Plus both of them are too skinny.

I can't believe that people actually want Will to quite acting. That's like telling Bill Gates to quit as the CEO of Microsoft so that he can go back to coding full time... That's no where near a good idea. Where do people come up with these things... seriously?

I haven't flammed anyone in awhile, so I might be rusty... Bad Boys 1 & 2 were action movies. All about fun, jokes, blowing stuff up, driving fast, shooting at living and non-living things... a summer block buster basically. Somewhere in there was a plot, but it didn't take precedence over the special effects and stuff blowing up. There is nothing wrong in liking such a movie. I don't understand why people complain when people say that they like the Bad Boys movies. The same people who like Bad Boys 1 & 2 are the same people who like Hitch or Ali. Everyone has their preference, just let it be. It's not like people are saying that they like Bagger Vance... Well I didn't really flame anyone in this post, but at the very least, I know that if I have to in the future, I'm no longer rusty... :wiggle:
