  1. Wow, thats harsh. Not a bad rap, but its kind of extreme. You had some good rhymes though. If you really feel like this, than you should think about talking it through with somebody.
  2. The only problem with that is it is the bootlegged version of the show. So the quality and all the other stuff on there aren't as good and its probably also illegal (distributing a copy righted show with out consent).
  3. That was a pretty cool performance, even though it wasn't recorded very well. The live drums sounded nice.
  4. Yo Bel Air, I feel ya about listenin to old school. I love classic hip hop, no doubt. But it would take a really long post in order to explain what happened to every single legendary rapper/rap group. The best way for you to learn more about them is google their names and read up on their biographies, look for hip hop documentaries on tv/dvd/internet, and keep listenin to their music (like Nas's "Where Are They Now remix". I learned a great deal about hip hops roots from just diggin on the net and looking up old discussion threads on sites/forums like this. So look around and you will find out all the info about what dudes are up to now a days. And just to let you know, Biggie/Notorious BIG got shot and killed, in like, '98 or '99. He is one of the most missed rappers that have passed away too soon.
  5. Thanks ya'll, I appreciate it. I did have a great birthday. I went to a Minnesota Twins baseball game with some friends and family and we all had fun. Good times. :wickedwisdom: Yeah, its definitely cool finally being 18.
  6. Never heard it before, but its definitely a great track.
  7. Word. You really gotta dig in order to find something worth buying. I mainly find good hip hop from the 80s and 90s, but when it comes to present day hip hop, its really a search.
  8. Dope review. thanks for sharing. TROTM is the best album I've heard in a long time.
  9. What up Gilbert. Good to see another jjfp fan around the way. Quick question. Is you're real name Gilbert, or are you just a big fan of Number 0. Just wonderin.
  10. http://www.xxlmag.com/online/?p=13364 In an exclusive interview with XXLMag.com, A Tribe Called Quest frontman, Q-Tip, reveals he’s forming a new group with Common entitled The Standard. “Me and Common [are] getting ready to form a group,” ‘Tip tells XXLMag.com. “We’ll probably run it through the Uni [universal Records] joint because we’re both on Universal.” According to The Abstract, it was Common who suggested the two from a group. “It was more of his suggestion,” he says. “He was like, “We just need to do a record.” So I’m really excited about that.” While the two haven’t started recording together yet, The Standard will start churning out material once the two starting touring together in a few weeks. As far as the production on the album, though, fans can expect Q-Tip to handle the majority. “I’m probably gonna do a lot of it,” ‘Tip says. “And we’ll get Kanye [West] on a couple things, but you know, that cat is busy.” Yeah, now thats what I'm talkin about. I think they will make some pure, dope hip hop. I'm very glad that Common and Tip are going to form a group together. Wow, those dudes are some of my all time fav. emcees. I think that they can be very successful together if they work at it, and make a record that will be 100% better then all the no talent crap thats out there. I also like the name of their new group, "The Standard". Hopefully they will be able to sell records.
  11. Gotta love the song though! Lovely Daze is a classic JJFP song.
  12. Hopefully not lorettaville :1-sigh:
  13. my bad, its hard to tell what people mean w/o hearing their tone of voice or somethin.
  14. "Yo, you know where little John lives on the corner The extension cord'll run perfectly to his crib" ~ Block Party off of Born to Reign... who's he talking about?..anyone know? Next tyme i go 2 Philly, i'll get a phone book and look up Little John. :hm: AJ, you don't need to be harsh on Bob. He was just asking a simple question. Take it out on the Lil Jon fan/guest. Bob, I think what Will was refering to either a made up person (he could have inserted anyones nickname into that part of the song, he was just using the name for the sake of using), or he knows/remembers somebody in philly that has the nickname Little John/jon. Either way, I'm positive he wasn't refering to the krunk rapper, lil jon.
  15. I saw it but I wasn't sure if it was going to be any good and worth the cost. I might have to check it out now. It sounds dope.
  16. I found the J Period mixtape that CL Smooth mentioned in "All I Know" off TROTM. Here is a link to the mixtape, I guess its a free download because CL had it as a promo for his album. I haven't listened to it yet, but it looks awesome. "like my man J Period's mixtape, the man's on fire" http://mixtapeshow.net/0506/mixtape-episod...smooth-mixtape/
  17. :wickedwisdom: Word up, I feel the same way. :iagree:
  18. W/o Silver Tiger, I won't listen or download just to be nice and add to the # of downloads! :ignore:
  19. Its funny, because I was going to post a new thread about this tonight. I went to a club tonight for the first time with a friend of mine (and his sister), and it was pretty fun. Beside the fact that the music selection was complete CRAP, the dj didn't even beatmatch (mix), and the main style of dancing was grinding/humping. It was pretty pathetic, but I still had fun. The only good song that was played was Gin and Guice by Snoop. I wish djs would play a variety of good hip hop, not meanly party like a rockstar crap. Just because the honeys can shake their ass to it, and the bass can boom till you feel it, doesn't mean they should play the same radio ****. Good article. I love the Q Tips quote, so true.
  20. Dope video, I've always wanted to see what Jeff studio looks like.
  21. Word. This video is definitely classic, and never gets old.
