it's too early to tell if this game album's on the same level as his previous albums but i think he's putting together enough quality music to consider him one of the greats in hip hop, the only reason why lil' wayne and jay-z/kanye are selling more than game is 'cause they're getting more radio play with songs that appeal to a commercial audience but game knows how to put together quality and his album is getting more praise from the critics than those other albums are it ain't just me saying that, they consider the game album above average, the jay-z/kanye album average, and the lil' wayne album below average... you could say a lot of the best stuff these days are on mixtapes instead of albums and that's 'cause record labels won't release certain stuff unless it's watered down, it's just like how interscope didn't release will's "tell me why", you could say ll cool j's "return of the g.o.a.t." mixtape sounds better than "exit 13" just like game's "r.e.d. room" mixtape sounds better than the "r.e.d. album" 'cause record labels like def jam and interscope want something that appeals to the kids....

you could say that there's a couple filler tracks and he shouldn't have had rick ross and lil' wayne on the album but there's about 80% quality songs on there which is a lot better than most commercial albums that only have 2 or 3 good songs, it's has more quality than the lil' wayne and jay-z/kanye albums have combined

and game's album only sold 135,000 copies after 2 weeks even though it's probably one of the best albums i heard in commercial rap in recent years, it's kinda sad that most people just buy albums over hype rather than actual quality these days...

i think it's healthy to have discussions like this, when we don't is when this forum will become obsolete, michael hit a lot of points that're important and need to be known, i don't think everybody that lists jay-z and lil' wayne is a sellout but you can't front how at least some are ignorant and have limited views of hip hop based on what gets airplay and what the magazines say are the top artists and they don't form their own view, it's just like when a lot jumped off of ja rule's bandwagon when 50 dissed him for doing pop songs but failed to see the fact that 50 was singing with girls on his songs too, it's also kinda funny that pac and biggie were murdered right in the prime of their careers, people view them as perfect mcs which is unfair to those that're living, i could go on and on with examples but i'll leave it on the note that like chuck d was saying the history of music has to be respected
