  1. I actually don't remember seeing that performance on TV either, usually I'm not checking for american idol but that performance is a hit, I like Tamia's version of "The Christmas Song", Grant Hill's lovely wife:
  2. Here's a great performance, Kelly Clarkson and Fantasia Burrino "Jesus, What A Wonderful Child", Merry Christmas!
  3. I always liked Camby, he's from my favorite college team UMass, he played well for the Knicks when they made the NBA Finals in '99, always a solid player, btw speaking of veteran solid players Kurt Thomas played very well in the back to back games for the Bulls this week against the 76ers and Wizards, if he could keep playing with that fountain of youth the Bulls should be fine until Noah comes back, we're gonna need his defensive to beat the Knicks and Amare tomorrow
  4. I added you as my friend on facebook and I'm playing the tracks on youtube since my computer's having problems downloading stuff at the moment, good stuff, I just had the intro on repeat!
  5. Nas Fans Create Online Petition For Def Jam To Release "Lost Tapes 2" by Allen Jacobs posted December 21, 2010 03:42:00 PM CST | 138 comments * * Nas Fans Create Online Petition For Def Jam To Release Lupe Fiasco fans aren't the only supporters attempting to pressure major labels into action, and nearly 700 have already signed. Earlier this year, Queens, New York emcee icon Nas said in an interview that he had plans to release a second installment of his Lost Tapes. The September, 2002 release featured previously unheard songs by Nas, produced by the likes of Alchemist and L.E.S. Whereas the original collection of songs came by way of Nas' then-label Columbia Records, the emcee alluded that his post-2006 home, Def Jam Records, would be responsible to release The Lost Tapes 2. Based on leaked emails, and interviews since the first announced in June of this year, the project has been delayed by the label home to Kanye West, The Roots, Rihanna and Ghostface Killah. Fans siding with Nas have created WeNeedLostTapes2.com, a petition side hoping to sway the New York-based label into releasing the collection of songs. The site states, "We the fans of Nasir Jones, have been waiting for the follow-up to the 2002 classic Lost Tapes. This was a record of compiled tracks that did not make Nas albums, but put together for the sake of the fans. Since its release almost a decade ago, it has received critical acclaim and quickly became a fan favorite. It has come to our attention that Nas has in fact completed the follow-up, titled Lost Tapes 2, and is waiting for you (Def Jam) to green-light the project and give it a release date. We do not like to go into speculation and rumors, but it seems as though you do not want to release Lost Tapes 2 because you don't want it to count as an official album since Nas only has 2 more albums left to fulfill his contractual obligation to Def Jam." At press time, 677 signatures had been collected.
  6. I wanna hear songs from that new Ronald Isley album on youtube but I noticed that there's a message saying that they're restricted from playing because of copyright rules, that's some BS, I'm sure more people would buy the albums if they were able to preview the songs and they liked them, I guess I'll have to hold out until I buy the album
  7. R. Kelly did his most innovative work since he created that "Trapped In The Closet" DVD Series, of course as I mentioned before that I like Keith Sweat's "Ridin' Solo", Toni Braxton's "Pulse" is really good too but most r&b these days seems too watered down for my taste, I heard that Ronald Isley's new CD is good, gonna get that one soon, I got Nelly's album today and I think it's better than his last one, he ain't the greatest lyricist but he could make good tracks....
  8. Run-Dmc, LL, JJFP were on the cover of the Rolling Stone magazines over 20 years ago and they'd win Grammies and American Music Awards, hip hop's been big, but I get what you're saying about how it's dope to see a good rapper on top for a change... R. Kelly's "Love Letter Christmas" is another 2010 holiday classic, I finally got the "Love Letter" CD in the mail today!!
  9. I finally heard the song last night and I was playing it most of the morning, Kanye really stepped it up, Fresh Prince should spit something to this, sorta takes me back to this "Family Business" song that was on the "College Dropout" album, which is a great song to play at family reunions and stuff: bigted 2014 bigted edit:
  10. I like a lot of the albums listed here, some of the underrated stuff of the year is mentioned: http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/editorials/id.1634/title.hiphopdxs-top-25-albums-of-2010
  11. One of my favorite songs on the album is the title track "Ridin' Solo", he sings his heart out about being single and needing a girl, this should've gotten a grammy nomination: I also found a gold mine on youtube, an unreleased album from 2003 called "The Legendary Keith Sweat", this track featuring Dru Hill "It's On" is the only track I heard so far and it's got me bouncin'!!
  12. redman should get off of def jam asap, they did a poor job promoting his album, those are independent type numbers, i don't care about the rappers at the top of the charts, it seems like the internet killed the rap star except for eminem since the kids don't buy music and just download these days, country artists still go multi platinum since their fanbase is older people that buy cds, btw welcome back top dawg, long time no see!
  13. I remember some of us on this board said that when "Lost and Found" came out that they shoulda did a remix for "Swagga", I also say that "Dear Hip Hop" off of LL's "Exit 13" is his version of "Lost & Found" where it's about the state of hip hop:
  14. thanks for posting the mixtape and sharing your work with us, gonna give it a listen when i get a free moment...
  15. please don't put lebron in the same sentence as jordan until he wins a championship but yes jordan's body didn't break down until he was with the wizards, that's why he's one of the goats but as big of a fan of jordan as i am i gotta admit that bill russell is the ultimate player of them all 'cause he won 11 championships, plus he's born the same year as my papa, wilt chamberlain was a stamina freak too, he played seasons without missing a minute let alone a game and he averaged almost 50 points/20 rebounds in a season, plus he went to the same high school that our fresh prince went too....
  16. Will's a Jr. like me, haha, I'm Big Ted Jr., my papa's Big Ted Sr., that's how we roll baby!!!
  17. That's right "MIB 3" is the perfect JJFP+ LL combination waiting to happen, LL should do something in "MIB 3" like Biz Markie did in "MIB 2" and then they make the bangin' soundtrack and do performances together, now's the time to make it happen, maybe we should all post this idea on Jazzy's facebook.....
  18. inuries are killing all the great players for real, yao and mcgrady just couldn't take it to the next level like they should've, grant hill is inspiration for us all the way he's fought back from his injuries, durability is the key in sports, it's about who could stay healthy the longest, that's why there should be more credit for guys like robert parish, john salley, and kevin willis who played all those years without getting injured much, they showed you could play in your 40's close to 50 years old if you're healthy, you need to have good training as well as skills, people don't talk much about james edwards either who was a 43 year old backup center on the '96 bulls team that won 72 games but he was a good player too that played almost 20 years, he played in the pre-internet era on the most part that's why people don't know much about him, he's also played on the pistons bad boy teams in the '80s, he's a tough physical player like charles oakley who didn't score a lot but he'd do all the dirty work to win games, a good team player, i wonder what happened to him now??! He ain't an assistant coach or anything in the nba right now i don't think after he retired after that season, maybe he turned into agent j in real life 'cause i haven't heard about him since he played, lol, funny that's actually the name of will in mib before he became agent j, now greg oden may never step on the court again either it seems like which is a shame 'cause i thought he was gonna be the next shaq when i saw him at ohio state and he seems like a cool guy.... Btw, I just checked out james edwards bio at hoopedia and it don't mention anything about where he's been since he's retired from playing in '96, maybe he really is agent j since they did find aliens recently in california, but anyway his stats ain't bad at all, 14,000+ points, 6,000+ rebounds in 19 NBA Seasons is very good, players like him and Rod Strickland didn't make all star games since there was so many legends out at once at the time, sorta like how KRS and Public Enemy never won Grammies with so many legends out at once: http://hoopedia.nba.com/index.php?title=James_Edwards
  19. jason kidd's still doing his thing on the mavs, he's damn near 40 by now
  20. a jjfp/ll cool j album would make more sense than most of the other collab albums coming out, they could make great songs about anything and pull them off with their versatility for one thing, it'd at least be on the level of the nas/damien marley album which is my favorite album this year, on the most part i like the guests that you mentioned, but there just one producer that i won't mention since i mentioned him enough should have no part here, i want somebody like the producer of thriller quincy jones to make music, this next album has to be big, if it was 5 years ago i could take will working with anybody but since he hasn't done anything since then i wanna see him go all the way in and only rock with the best, don't need no douche bag tantrums to ruin the albums.... i see ll cool j's doing his thing right now on ncis:la so i think it'd even be good if he made an appearance on bad boys 3 and they did the soundtrack for it, if it's in the hands of the legendary artists instead of the pop rappers like puffy then it'll become classic, these guys are the kings of entertainment, it's about time that the world recognises that, they gotta do something to reach for the sky, if this was sports they'd tore their knees and have to retire at 42 years old that they are now, jazzy's 45 but he's still the top dj, music has no age limit so their best days are not behind them either, bring back the '92 dream team of hip hop....
  21. it usually ain't my cup of tea either, personally i'd settle for a mixtape for credibility among the 'heads' but logically thinking with the way their music got slept on for the most part in the last decade they need to do something different, they need to take a more hands on approach here, they don't need Columbia/Interscope/Jive/Def Jam to promote it either they're big enough names where they could promote it themselves with their own budget together.... Think about it man, if they did music + movie it'd be epic and would reach a higher demographic of people who don't normally listen to rap, it'd touch people from 8-80 like i said, something of a bigger scale needs to be done at this point with the state of hip hop being the way it is with nobody putting out anything groundbreaking and innovative anymore, everybody knows that they're talented enough to do it so I don't have a problem, people don't buy music as much as they used to so something needs to be done to reach the audience, more people watch movies and go on youtube than buy albums in 2010 so they gotta deliver what the people want, they could use all their god-given talent on a project, a work of art that the world will appreciate, they deserve to put out an album that should go platinum in the first week sales and go diamond, not sell only 30,000 in the first week and go gold, once again I emphasise that something needs to be done, hip hop's at a "code red" state....
  22. This album is by far my favorite r&b album this year, listening to this album brought back memories of when I first listened to him back in '96, this guy never ages one bit, I hope he sings until he's 100, "It's A Shame" has become an anthem for me thinking about all the relationships that I had that didn't work out, it's like "Why Me? 2010", he shoulda did a remix with LL Cool J doing a verse, that'd been even more classic ish, here's a song I found on youtube that didn't make the album, "Going At It" it was his original single for the album released in March....
  23. In my heart I know that there's a great chance for real hip hop to sell again 'cause it's no fluke that the 2 greatest mcs Fresh Prince and LL Cool J have sold over 50 million albums combined with a boat load of awards, TV sitcoms, and box office hits, with fans from 8-80, I know kids in my family that like them both and my papa's 76 years old and he don't like rap but he digs their music: So with no further due, Big Ted's(if you read this Jazzy Jeff let me be the A&R/hype man of the project, I'll take the intern role just so I could learn from all the greats) concept to bring Will "Fresh Prince" Smith and the GOAT LL Cool J back to the top of the music industry and entertainment world, the blueprint to create the "thriller" of hip hop: Step 1: Get together the right production team of their careers to create their musical background: Marley Marl, Jazzy Jeff, Rick Rubin, Teddy Riley, and Trackmasters Step 2: Bring back the turntable conept of hip hop with Jazzy Jeff and Cut Creator on their tour Step 3: Turn this music that's created into a double album soundtrack to a film that they both co-star in, it could be a "Pursuit Of Happiness/Last Holiday" type of film with a deep concept for some "Tell My Why/Mr. President" material for the soundtrack and the film to win Oscars and Grammy awards in 2012, btw no wack commercial rappers/auto-tune singers are allowed to appear on the album, few guest appearances as possible unless it's a Chuck D, Heavy D, Kool Moe Dee, or KRS caliber type of mc Boyz II Men, T-Boz, Toni Braxton, and Keith Sweat doing hooks, the real fans want to hear more from the GOATs of hip hop than anybody else.... Step 4: Release a video for every song on youtube and put it out as a bonus DVD when the CDs are released to stores Step 5: Massive world tour, this is something us fans been waiting for, have each show in big sports arenas, they perform all their new hits and classics during a 2-hour set, then release the footage on DVD
  24. 50's inconsistant but you can't say he don't got a good ear for beats, something I wish my favorite mcs had, that's why a lot of the best mcs ain't selling much right now
