  1. I'm with AJ on this one, between '98-'05 Kanye had potential to be one of the greats in hip hop but since then he's just another pop rapper, and as a person he's always seemed to be a douche to say the least, he's popular though 'cause there's a lot of negative people out there that support his attitude...
  2. In Honor Of Veterans Day, God Bless America!
  3. this is nice! it has that classic mj sound that we all love!
  4. This would be the perfect timing for Hammer to release a "Lost Tape" mixtape with his rare heat tracks 'cause a lot of these songs are better than his popular stuff
  5. I was browsing music on youtube tonight and I just found this song called "Big Man" from his rare "Family Affair" album, it was a remake of the "Too Late" song that you posted AJ
  6. People sleepin' on Fat Joe, dude got skills, btw I'm listening to my favorite Heavy D song, another underrated mc:
  7. a rare heavy d track feat. puffy, big booty girls http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTVDC63eggA
  8. If LL and Boyz II Men did an album together it'd truely be the best of both worlds
  9. I was listening to LL Cool J's "Mr. Smith" album today and I brought out the credits from the CD insert and I came across this inspiring quote he wrote, it was made 15 years ago but it's timeless just like his music: "A message to our most valuable resource, our youth: I love each and every one of you. To be successful you must work hard, trust in the Creator and listen to your parents. It is important that you stay in school, don't use drugs, stay away from guns and violence, register and vote, and respect your peers and senior citizens. If you follow this path, success is yours. And remember, AIDS and teenage pregnancy are destroying lives every day. The more you know, the further you'll go. Mr. Smith 4 ever, peace, One."
  10. i'll admit that calling gay-z is wrong but i haven't done that on all the posts, i heard that in the news that he was gonna change his last name to knowles, i didn't just make that up... and well karma will come back to jigga if he's gonna go around and make fun of hammer like that, he thinks that he'll stay on top forever but he ain't bigger than god, everyone gets their chance to shine like i said before, besides ll cool j no rapper from 25 years ago is still popular, one day some young rapper will make fun of him too for his mistakes 'cause it's like LL said in an interview about how there's two ways you could be successful, you could either tear somebody else down to get to the top or you could build a ladder for others to climb at the same time but if you choose to tear others down it'll come back to you, think about that....

  12. Hammer spitting realness on a song with gangsta rap legends: People forget that Hammer was dancing in NWA's "Express Yourself" video as well, if Eminem was really such a big NWA fan that he claimed he was then he'd know that: Hammer's Verse: Sittin' on the ave, about quarter to nine All the homies going blind at the eightball line And on this tip they started running at the lip Run at the beats, took a lil' trip Hit the block at about 12 and the 10 They went down and the nines went click People started yelling, bodies started bailing Bullets started flying send us to hell and It's all gotta stop, we don't need all the violence Peace in the 'hood and a moment of silence We got together not for ego or fame We got involved 'cause we're all in the same gang another personal favorite "Crime Story" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCtBGK7UT6g
  13. "Don't call me crazy but sometimes I feel like gettin up and dancin in the middle of the night I need a way to release myself from all the pain and the pressures in life (one time) Considered drinkin, but then I started thinkin I'd probably drown away my life Gotta do somethin, too many people frontin You see I need a way to get by" "Dancin'", creative song "Sometimes I sit back, relax, sip on Cognac, reminscin on how it used to be, when we were kids Laughin at the things that we did (uh-huh) Damn near broke but we knew how to live, peep the scene Mom and dad, bustin they ass, 14 years In the night they would pass, each other Tryin to raise six of us - one sister, four brothers Two deceased, laid to rest And I miss you cats, what I wouldn't give to bring you back To fill the void that you left in my heart Your last breath really tore me apart And I'm sorry if I never said I loved you enough I truly did" "Ask Heaven", it's a biography about his life in one song and how he's dealt with issues "Big Gentlemen Asshole full of Benjamins New millenium New Bentley then, a sort addition Gorgeous women Swimming in 'em Cinnamon with denim Diva pigeons Peep the glissin' Y'all don't listen See what you missin' Diggy, double shot a henny All about the ammo NeY Bubble like no any Diamond lipped Crucifixe Seducing chicks Selective whips Consecutive hits I break sun with Pun Crew hall with Ball Screw all of y'all We the bigshots Heavy rotation Every location Smoke stogies with roadies on the corner in front of Bodega's World famous You gon' love us or hate us You the type that'd scuff up my gators Because of my papers Been about my glitter So you killin my jaw DAMN can't a nigga live homeboy?" "On Point", this is Heavy D at his lyrical best "Yo, here I go, here I go, here comes the man again gain Ruff with a pad and pen, so run go tell your friends It's the big belly babalu boogaloo big, boy And I got plenty honies there's no need for no sex toy Free me, slavery, let me go oh no no no No longer will you treat my beautiful sisters like they're filthy hoes Never ran from static men to crew get dramatic And I get crazy respect from crazy crews with automatics Now push could come to shove because they love the way I flip a skip And that's what keeps me kinda popular with all the honeydaps So look at me now, and tell me who is bigger? When I'm on the block I'm with my flock and I'm rollin with a buncha niggas"-"Buncha Niggas", one of the best posse tracks ever "No matter what they say, no matter what they do Tonight is your night so do what you want to Grab a girl, grab a guy, say hi, say ho Throw your hands in the air and let the music flow Now here we go, once again it's the man with the wings on the double Got my shovel and I'm diggin for skins Now everything is alright, nobody's uptight Could be the lights but all the girls look right Now I'm coolin in the corner with a cutie named Judy and a girl named Sheryl, said she been around the world Went and strolled on her own through the club on a rub-a-dub tip tryin to snuggle up wit another honeydip I see my peoples on the dancefloor doin their thing As I 'gan to sing, believe me it's a black thing The party's all jumpin, everything is alright So do what you wanna do cos it's your night"-"This Is Your Night", another dope party jam produced by Teddy Riley, Heavy gets it poppin' "Height; six-three, style - swing beat Name; Heavy D, so just watch me Car; Chevy - four by four Blazer Favorite pasttime? Skeeze chaser! Size; ten and a half, sometimes eleven Place of rest after death? Heaven Favorite dessert; chocolate chipcake Favorite dance - mine, the Heavy D Shake Run, my territory, I will say never The Overweight Lover, is highly, too clever Extremely intellectual, not bisexual If this was a basketball game I'd win the sectional championship, then eat potato chip with a little onion dip, and then I'll take a trip to Maui, Maui is a little island a part of Hawaii I dip upon the plane push up on the stewardess say FLY ME You never hear another beat quite like this Done up real smooth with a lyrical twist MC's in my path I will steadily pounce Heavy D's in effect.. with more bounce to the ounce" "More Bounce", more sick punchlines "Picture the set, girlies wet with sweat In the corner people sitting down They've had as much as they could possibly get Here while I'm lamping Feeling like a champ and push up on a cutie Phone digits I'm stamping The place was packed though, stuffed like an Oreo Everybody broke for a Heavy D video Pumping in stereo, people said, "Here we go," A cutie down in front said, "Heavy you're my hero" Understand this, before you make a comment Because there's always a meaning in a Heavy D statement In this life, I strive for improvement Be your own guide, follow your own movement Loving is a legend Me, I'm legendary at it Living on the mike makes me a rapping acrobat Don't try to swing, because you couldn't even hang We've got our own thang"- "We Got Our Own Thang", more sick flows here
  14. "Freakin' It" isn't even close to one of Will's best songs but he sums it up perfectly in that first verse: "I'm bout to freak this full out the king of the hill Big Will keepin' it real knees in da grill The whole set all locked down, making you flock down, Where I'm at they here my rap, I be that cat to set trends Where y'all at On the corner with your friends Heard you screamin about cream in your rap kid Yo my last check for Wild Wild West came on a flat bed Once and for all lets get this straight How you measure a rapper what make an MC great Is it the sales? 20 mill Is it the cars? Bentley's Is it the women? Jada Is it the money? Please Mr. Clean yet the fact remain Got girls that don't speak English screamin' my name All you rappers yellin' bout who you put in a hearse Do me a favor write one verse without a curse"
  15. Heavy D is very similar to Fresh Prince, Hammer, LL, KRS, Kool Moe Dee, etc., in a sense that he's a legend that don't get mentioned as much as he should be but his resume speaks for itself, he's also been around since '87, his '09 reggae album is fire, clearly he's one of the more versatile mcs, he needs to come back with another hip hop album soon.... I was pleasently surprised just now when I saw this thread when I looked at the last clicks, some guest was looking at it so I decided to bump it... I'm gonna post some of my favorite Heavy D quotes when I get a chance....
  16. hammer does have skills, everyone's perception of skills is different varies on opinion on the type of image that they portray, but he worked just as hard as anybody to make the industry, all these armchair quarterbacks who hate on him would deep down kill to be in his position, the only reason why rappers like hammer and will aren't in most people's top 10 lists like i mentioned they don't have parental advisory albums like 99% of the rappers in the top 10 do but they have just as much talent as any of them, the kids and critics blindly call them wack just 'cause they don't curse on record and that's what i call unfair, it shows the type of society we're in, the rappers who believe in god and have morals get put down while the ones who live a materialistic lifestyle get praised.... no matter what position we're in life we should all respect each other, none of these rappers including will are bigger and better than god, as a man hammer deserves as much respect as jigga does, just 'cause jigga's 'on top' at the moment doesn't give him the right to laugh at others, that's as childish as his fans, even though i don't like soulja boy and vanilla ice they don't deserve to be dissed as badly as they are, i don't like every artist out there but i don't go around making fun of all the weaker artists like other people do, you'll notice most of my posts on this board i give credit to those i like and i respectfully criticise who i don't like that much instead of blindly hating....that's all i gotta say, peace... btw i just came back to put the 2nd part of the hammer allhiphop.com interview he's right about how people say "oh he's wack, it don't matter how much this rapper sold" then they say "this rapper's selling millions and selling out stadiums", it's hypocritical, why is it great for eminem and jay-z to sell millions but it's wack when will and hammer did it?, hammer sums it perfectly in this line, whether or not he's lyrical is anyone's opinion but "If a rapper talk tough he gotta back what he say": http://www.allhiphop.com/stories/features/archive/2010/11/09/22473262.aspx
  17. krs-one likes soulja boy so does that make him a top rapper? let's make it clear, it's not like i hate all the new rappers out these days either 'cause i do like rhymefest, b.o.b, lupe.... btw, jigga's the one who needs to stop hating in the first place, hammer didn't start the battle, jigga disrespected him and as a man hammer has a right to stand up for himself as a man for what he believes in after he was dissed, that's what's real as a fact, once again it doesn't matter how much 'skills' he got, that's what's opinion, real hip hop is much deeper than that...
  18. if you want me to post all the lyrics to 'lost and found' i'll do it, that explains the difference between real and fake, lost and found.... krs was standing up for the malcolm x principles, listen to those albums, there was always a positive message there...
  19. LL Cool J's "Jingling Baby" dissed Kool Moe Dee and it was a party track so that's wack too? Speaking of originality, can you tell me what's so original about Jay-Z over the last 10 years or so? It seems like he raps about material, street violence, and sex on every song, sure he has more talent but he's a negative influence to the youth like 50 Cent, if 50 Cent said he didn't believe in God in his songs he'd get crucified but Jay-Z gets a free pass 'cause he got "skills", thank God that there's still real artists like MC Hammer out there still, it's more than just about skills when it comes to real hip hop like I mentioned before, Will said it best on "Lost and Found" how there's fake rappers who don't believe what they say no more.... as far as Eminem, there's no denying his talent but he's also a negative influence for the youth who listen to him, he curses a million times on record but at home he don't curse at all, there's kids out there that're foul mouth and disrespectful to authority because of Eminem's music...
  20. This is getting real deep now, Hammer stands for his principles, I respect that! http://www.allhiphop.com/stories/features/archive/2010/11/08/22473243.aspx
  21. I posted "Bring Our Brothers Home" in the Jay-Z/MC Hammer thread and mentioned how MC Hammer's good at addressing current event issues, it shows you he could have a career in politics since he has the intelligence but there's too much dishonestly in politics that I don't see him doing that.... FP "Switch" remix was produced by Lil' Jon as well and yeah Big Daddy Kane was gonna sign to Death Row before Pac passed on...
  22. I respect what you're saying there, what you're saying makes a lot of sense but Hammer has a damn near proven 25 year resume, he has responded to his critics before so damn right he could hold his own against Jigga in any battle, he'd light him up on stage first of all 'cause he did it to a lot of our favorite rappers, even FP wouldn't mess with Hammer, and the proof is in the pudding when it comes to punchlines, check out the lyrics for "Better Run Run" in my signature, those are some dope ass lyrics, he whipped him ol' school style, listen to Hammer's albums, he constantly comes with some sick rhymes, his creativity and energy is top notch.... If it wasn't for him and JJFP there would be no Jigga or Eminem for us to listen to, you need to tell Eminem and Jigga to have more 'common sense' not to open their mouths to diss pioneers in the first damn place, they both need to grow up, bottomline beef is pointless, I hate how kids buy into the garbage, the kids are dillusional to think rappers like Jigga and Em are the only dope rappers, they also need to have more 'common sense', all these so called damn hip hop critics call JJFP and Hammer sellouts while the rappers they praise do commercials too, all the player hating needs to stop, I ain't no hater, I just tell it the way I see it, when I say they're overrated I ain't saying that they wack, I'm saying that there's other rappers on their level but the critics and fans act like they're the only ones and that's dillusional, there's plenty of talented rappers that should be going multiplatinum not just them....
