Yeah from I heard on the internet there's some good stuff but it's not like it's the 2nd coming of "Illmatic", you're right it probably won't be a top 5 album by the end of 2010 since the legendary album makers like KRS/Premier, Nas/Damien Marley, LL, Wyclef, Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, and Naughty By Nature are all gonna have albums out in 2010 but it may be at top 5 album at this time since there's not much albums are out at this point, there's a lot of good mixtapes I heard but not much albums in 2010 yet, the veterans I mentioned need to come out and show these new rappers how to make albums, hopefully "The Magnificent 3" and a JJFP album come out soon enough as well

I found this on SOHH.com DJ Premier has opened up on the recent passing of Guru and revealed his hopes for the future of Gang Starr. From Premier hopes their past works will financially provide for the late rapper's son. "I want the name to stay alive... but the right way. I don't have a hidden agenda. His son should get that money. Of course I'll get my half and that's not on no selfish ****. That's just off of what we built together. Nothing can take away from what Gang Starr did. That's what I was stressing to Guru before he passed. We have tons of footage and DVD material that could have been sold. This is way before he was sick. I plan to discuss what can be done with Guru's family. I don't care if it's from a lawyer's standpoint. The main thing is we never dissolved our Gang Starr contract. We are still signed to each other. We never disbanded the group. If Guru really wanted to super dead it he would have said, 'Yo, I want out.' And I still would have tried to convince him to stay. We are still Gang Starr." (VIBE) Last week, Premier revealed his final hospital visit with Guru. "If you love him, and you're taking care of him, why the f**k did his nails look longer than a f*cking ruler?!" Premier directed toward Guru's partner Solar during a Sirius broadcast. "[And] a clump Afro?! I've taken care of people in the hospital [before]. You can wash their hair and cleantheir nails off. His feet were swollen and his toenails were really disgusting...I took the logo on my shirt and rubbed it against his whole body and told him a message from me about how much I loved him, and that we were for life and still were for life. Then I kissed him on his face and let him know that I was going to miss him because it seemed like he was already gone." (All Hip Hop) Prior to speaking on Solar, Preem said he would resist talking about Guru's alleged final letter. "IT WAS A SAD DAY FOR ME TO GET CONFIRMATION ON THE DEATH OF A MAN WHO I WILL CONTINUE TO CALL MY BROTHER, KEITH ELAM, BETTER KNOWN AS GURU OF THE LEGENDARY GANG STARR," he wrote. "FROM 1988-2004, WE EXPERIENCED SO MUCH SUCCESS TOGETHER THAT WE WERE ABLE TO EXPAND OUR BUSINESSES INDEPENDENTLY AND GIVE EACH OTHER WHAT GURU CALLED "CREATIVE SPACE," BEFORE PLANNING TO REUNITE FOR OUR 7TH LP WHEN THE TIME WAS RIGHT. TRAGICALLY, WE WILL NEVER REACH THAT DAY. I'VE BEEN ASKED TO COMMENT ON A LETTER SPEAKING ILL OF ME WHICH WAS SUPPOSEDLY WRITTEN BY GURU IN HIS DYING DAYS. ALL I WILL SAY ABOUT IT IS THAT OUR TIME TOGETHER WAS BEAUTIFUL, WE BUILT A HIP HOP LEGACY TOGETHER, AND NO ONE CAN RE-WRITE HISTORY OR TAKE AWAY MY LOVE FOR HIM. ONE THING I WOULD NEVER DO IS PLAY AROUND WITH THE TRUTH ABOUT HIS LIFE. I WILL CELEBRATE GURU'S LIFE... I WILL HONOR HIS MEMORY... I WILL GRIEVE WITH THE ELAM FAMILY OVER HIS UNTIMELY DEATH..." (Statement) Guru's brother, Harry Elam, recently inked an editorial piece speaking on his condition. "My brother Keith Elam, the hip-hop artist known as GURU--Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal--died this week at the too-young age of 48 because of complications from cancer. 'Positivity' was what he sought to bring to the music and to his life, and for me that will be a large part of his legacy," he wrote. "In February of this year, my brother went into a coma, and I traveled across the country from my home in California to see him. At his bedside, I stood and stared at his overly frail frame, his head that he had kept clean-shaven for the last 20 years uncommonly covered with hair, hisbody connected to a sea of tubes and wires. I listened to the whirl of machines around us and took his hand. As I did, my mind flashed back to now-distant times, so many memories..." (Boston Globe)

I was more referring to this leading to his comeback in music, everybody knows Will's not gonna stop acting
-
Michael Jackson "Thriller"
-
Jay Electronica "Exhibit C"
-
Chamillionaire "Money Already Made"
-
The original "Men In Black" song may be more popular but I liked "Nod Ya Head" better when that came out, Will was spittin' hard, if the whole "Born To Reign" album had that edge to it it'd been classic, now if Jazzy gets an input for MIB3 then it'd be huge

Hell yes, "MIB3D" sounds like the perfect comeback for the Fresh Prince

Jazzy Jeff Speaks On Reunion With Fresh Prince
bigted replied to Ale's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Yeah it's all about quality of music, if you could make great music then you could remain relevant no matter how old you are, the reality is too that the veterans are the ones that're keeping hip hop alive the most 'cause they're still out there doing it better than a lot of these young rappers out now so there's no doubt that JJFP could bring it with another album -

Ja Rule's "Venni Vetti Vecci 2010" Still On Deck
bigted replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I think Ja said that he's done with beef and wants to focus on music, but man he did rip 50 good when they did beef so I wouldn't mind if he did destroy that sucka mc once again, anybody that says Ja's a weak lyricist needs to listen to those battle tracks man they were hardbody...Also for the record I think Eminem's last album wasn't as bad as his other albums since "MMLP" but the problem that ruined it was those annoying voice changes, it's gonna take quite a "recover" literally for him to give me a better impression... -
XXL gave his album an XL rating: Beats: XL Lyrics: L Originality: XL B.o.B’s path to success was not without its false starts, but thanks to his breakthrough single, “Nothin’ On You,” the Atlanta rapper finally gets the chance to detail his journey on his long-awaited debut, The Adventures of Bobby Ray. Utilizing his duel talents (rapping and singing) B.o.B reveals the thoughts of a musician trying to make it in the music industry. The voyage begins on the album’s melodramatic intro track, “Don’t Let Me Fall,” where B.o.B uses a rock-tinged production effort to plead for help as he attempts to live out his dreams. It peaks on the hopeful “Airplanes,” (Check for Eminen’s scene-stealing verse on Part II of the cut) as the rapper teams up with Paramore singer Hayley Williams to remember the days before he had a record contract. And over the ominous keys of the self-produced “Ghost of the Machine,” Bobby Ray sings about struggling to find his place in the world. “Where am I supposed to go and who am I supposed to believe?” he croons. “If only you knew what I knew, then you could see just what I see.” B.o.B’s eclectic approach on pop-friendly efforts like the Dr. Luke-produced “Magic,” featuring Rivers Cuomo, and experimental songs like the guitar-plucking “Lovelier Than You,” likely won’t appeal to fans of his early work. But he also demonstrates that he’s still more than capable of holding his own lyrically alongside revered wordsmith Lupe Fiasco on “Past My Shades.” Likewise, he’s slick enough to trade verse with Grand Hustle boss T.I. on the braggadocios “Bet I.” While Adventures of Bobby Ray is B.o.B’s story, the feeling he conjures makes it easy to relate. It’s safe to say this genre-blending debut is a step in the right direction for the young rap star. —Chris Yuscavage

Ja Rule's "Venni Vetti Vecci 2010" Still On Deck
bigted replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
More than likely since it's been that way for the last 10 years but if he really wants to turn it around he'll do something different -
That's a cool line for Lil' Wayne but it still falls weak compared to the quotables by the great lyricists

Ja Rule's "Venni Vetti Vecci 2010" Still On Deck
bigted replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
Yeah Ja Rule ain't the most amazing mc at a lyrical level but he's a good song maker and from a lot of the interviews I've read from over the years he seems to be a cool dude which you can't say about a lot of today's radio rappers and btw I rather listen to an average lyricist like Ja Rule making songs I like rather than a great lyricist like Eminem that makes annoying songs -
New York rapper Ja Rule recently updated fans on the status of his comeback album Venni Vetti Vecci 2010. Rule claims the solo album will introduce his new musical sound. "It's been a good ride, you know what I'm sayin'? It's been a wild ride but it's been fun. But with this album I feel like I've conquered all those little obstacles that I had to get around, and now I'm ready to get this product out to the world again...I worked with a lot of different producers on this album. Some new guys, some veterans. The album's put together really well. It just has an overall feel to it, the sound is vintage Ja Rule, but then it's different, I've been playing with this new sound that I've been trying to develop. It's kinda hot, it's David Guetta meets the hip-hop world. The beats different, they're fresh, some of them are hard bass driven, and some of them have the big drums, big kick. It's kinda that sound that's tearin' up overseas right now, but we haven't really put our finger on it yet over here in the states. So I kinda put my own stamp on it with the sound and the music and stuff, and hip-hopped it out. It sounds real good." (Dubcnn) Earlier this year, Rule changed his game plan on how he would release the project. "I wanted to do a three disc set but I'm thinking about changing the idea of how I want to do it," Rule told interviewer Lola. "One set was gonna be all hip-hop. Straight back to the roots hip-hop was gonna be the first disc, then the second one was gonna be when I came into the game and kinda transformed, learned being in the business doing duets and stuff like that. The third disc was gonna be Rule, my new sound and that was gonna be that but the album is coming out crazy so I think I wanna give 'em, maybe a double. Or I might just give 'em 14, 15 bangers...This time, it's more of the content of myself, what I've been through, what I've seen...It's coming in the summer time, I was pushing for a June date but I don't know if I'm gonna make that date or not. So it'll definitely be here this summer." (iLuvLola) Last September, Rule announced the upcoming album title and gave details on finding a distributor. "I'm trying to take it up a notch, something a little more different," Rule said about Venni Vetti Vecci 2010. "Maybe I can have some of these spaces in time where -- this album, I really wanna make this album for the people, for the public so they can enjoy. This album's not about, we ain't getting money off rap records like we used to. So when I'm doing it now, it ain't for the money. It's for the love because it ain't out there like that. You can ask any rap artist out there that's doing it, the record business is not what it used to be so when you see artists like myself -- I do it for the love...I got a couple of companies that want the job [laughs] which is not a tough job, because it's only distribution and marketing, promoting. We finalizing the deal now and it should all be done within the next couple of weeks." (Rhyme & Reason) Rule previously spoke on the status of his comeback album and what role the fans would have on the project's title. "New album coming soon," Rule promised in an interview. "I think I'ma do something for the people where y'all help me with the title of my next album because I was gonna name my sh*t The Mirror but...the album got leaked...I think I'ma do a contest or something where I get the people to give me their feedback on what the album should be called...Keep talking, the album's coming. All y'all hater n*ggas, I love y'all. Keep running your mouths. Y'all n*ggas are helping my cause, keep up the good work." (Forbez DVD)
