  3. Thanks for that track Turntable, it's a banger for sure, btw you're right about how Mobb Deep was really on top of things when they came out, I'm listening to "Shook Ones Pt. 1" right now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vN-4Xwy-Cw I agree that last TI album was off the hook, hope his next one's on that level as well
  4. Instead of starting a new thread, I figure I'd add this article here since it's Ice Cube related: http://www.sohh.com/2010/04/ice_cube_talks_i_am_the_west_content_rev.html West Coast rap veteran Ice Cube recently broke down his upcoming I Am The West album and revealed two new tracks from the project. According to Cube, featured songs like "Man Vs. Machine" and "Hood Robbin'" provide underlying themes and messages. "['Man Vs. Machine'] is talking about our obsessions with machinery and how it's taking over," he said in an interview. "Automation is taking over human beings in all our relevancy in this world. Pretty soon, machines are gonna take over and that's just real...['Hood Robbin'] is talking about how big corporations is now stealing from the poor and giving to the rich. It's a whole thing about the things we're going up against with housing and medical insurance ... just everything people are going through. Real sh** that ain't got nothing to do with money, cars, [and] all the sh** most rappers talk about." (BallerStatus) Last week, Cube denied reports that his "Don't Drink The Kool-Aid" song was a diss toward Dr. Dre. "He asked me did I diss him during the Paid Dues Show last Saturday. I did one of my new songs called "Drink The Kool-Aid" which got everybody thinking I'm dissing the whole industry...lol "You internet roaches..." I told Dre that I'd never diss the man that got me started. Here are the lyric to Drink The Kool-Aid for everybody who understand style and grace in hip-hop...check the lyrics...No disses. Just style and grace." (Ice Cube's Blog) Cube's wordplay initially caught the media's attention and sparked speculation. A rap beef nobody wants to see again: Ice Cube vs. Dr. Dre. It was exciting in the AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted and N---az4Life days, but the two legends are going at it again? That's what some fans thought when footage of Ice Cube performing at the Paid Dues Tour hit cyberspace a few days ago. Cube rapped the lines, "I ain't the doctor/ This ain't the patient/ This ain't that n---a always on vacation/ This ain't no white boy's rehabilitation/ This is crazier then a boatful of Haitians. (MTV) As of late, the rapper has been defending his image as a rap veteran. "There's been a gang of motherf*ckers talking sh*t about your boy Ice Cube," he told fans at a Paid Dues concert. "I love it though -- I got a message to the new emcees in the house right now...You can't diss Dr. Dre. You can't diss Eazy-E. You can't diss Ice-T. You can't diss King Tee. No, you cannot diss Ice Cube. No, I ain't going for it. And any of you young motherf*ckers that do want to diss, I got one thing to say before you do it. You better check yourself before you wreck yourself." (YouTube) I Am The West is scheduled to drop Tuesday, July 13th.

  14. MC Hammer "Heartbreaka"(Is What They Call Me), I never heard of this track until I found it just now on youtube, this is that fire from the Funky Headhunter era: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8L6HOlFTXo
  15. That's sad news for DMX, I'm praying that he gets his life back together 'cause he's one of the real dudes in hip hop

  17. KRS One "Slap Em Up" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17m7YAd0g0w
  18. You got a point there Turntable, there's been times where people have recognised his skills like when he put out "Lean Back" and battled 50. Now sure he dumbed down here or there but who hasn't really at some point? A lot of times this happens 'cause fans are fickle when they send a mix signal in what they want Now here's a shining example of when he's on top of his game: DJ Kay w/Fat Joe, Joe Buddens, and Joe "Not Your Average Joe" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIxlLVHiAWE
  19. Yeah that Montell Jordan album's one of my favs too, Fat Joe's underrated, a lot of those rappers on R&B songs in the '90s I didn't hear anywhere else, and speaking of TLC I heard that Chilli's having this new reality show on VH1 Guy "Dancin", new jack swing forever
