  1. Ultimately Rakim should swallow his pride and do another album with Eric B. to make the perfect album but "Seventh Seal" still had some decent beats even though it was his lyrics and flow that carried the album I agree
  2. That's why the rap game is the way it is 'cause people pay more attention to the beats than the lyrics, maybe Rakim should sign to G-Unit since they got all the beats...
  3. He's not the victim tho is he really? I dont condone Elin beating him if that is what happened, anymore than I did when CB beat Rihanna. But Tigers been creeping, he can catch the flack for a while, and deservedly so. Having said that, i couldnt care less about his personal life, I admire him for his mentality and abilities on the golf course. There is no equal to his talent, ever! Hope whoever was admitted to Hospital is ok. word nuff said
  4. Rakim's album is probably the best album of the year, one of the best that I heard in years, how the hell could it be the most dissapointment? Rakim could rhyme circles still around any of these rappers these critics hail like Eminem and Jay-Z... These lists are BS, btw I feel like I'm the only one that liked Busta Rhymes "Back On My BS" but really like all other albums he released it's dope, he never dissapoints me musically, even though he seems to be a shady personality, he's like the Tiger Woods of rap, lol....
  5. "Lost and Found" deserves a spot in the top 10 of the decade but of course they won't put it there 'cause we know how they overlook Will when it comes to that stuff, they probably have one of his movies in the top 10 movies, lol, but I think that "Lost and Found" deserves better accolades than any of his recent films... A lot of people all the time always talk about the Jay-Z and Nas battle that they forget that DMX dropped a classic album right in between that time in late '01, "The Great Depression" is the truth, I actually remember playing that album more than Nas' "Stillmatic" and Jay-Z' "The Blueprint" when they all dropped, with all his personal problems people forget how great of an mc DMX really is, I'm hoping he gets everything together to drop another classic for the '10s decade... Before I go any further I still haven't heard an a rap album in this decade that's any better than LL Cool J's "The G.O.A.T." album, I must of played it a million times over the past 10 years and still never get tired of it, that's what I call a true classic, I grew up on it, really the lyrics, flow, and beats on that album are the greatest.... Now I think that "Late Registration" is the only good Kanye West album, the rest are overrated and mediocre commercial crap, I think that "College Dropout"'s nowhere near as great as people claim it to be, the other mcs on the album saved it from falling apart, btw I'll take Hi-Tek, Pete Rock, Diamond D, and the late J-Dilla as better producers/mcs btw if I say so myself, people that know their hip hop already know that.... Sure Kanye's a positive rap artist, I give him credit for that but really he isn't any more talented than 50 Cent and Nelly, he does the same kind of simplistic nursing rhyme schemes on the most part... Beyonce's 1st album is her best one, her stuff with Destiny's Child is way better than any of her solo stuff, Kelly Rowland's actually the best solo artist in the group in my opinion as well, I enjoy her albums better, the Destiny Child "Survivor" album is a masterpiece that deserves some recognition in the top 10.... I think the best Outkast album of the decade is their last one "Idlewild", that was an artistic masterpiece that was taken to another level.... Now where's some love for Mariah's "Emincipation Of Mimi"? That was her big comeback album in the mid 2000s.... I was listening to Joe's "My Name Is Joe" album recently and I gotta say that's one of the top albums of this decade as well.... One thing I gotta add is that when it comes to balancing all kinds of music on albums nobody could touch Wyclef Jean, "Masquerade" was incredible since he was put all of his heart into it after his father died in 2002, it's nothing short of musical genious, that dude is the Quincy Jones of our era for real...
  6. Big Pun and Sheek Louch "Pina Colada", Pun destroyed 50 in this song, btw R.Kelly's been dissapointing for the past 5 years on the most part compared to his classic material but he's still one of the best R&B artists, his album came out a couple days ago
  7. I'll take another "Willenium" album anyday too, it doesn't matter what the title is, I just want another classic like that
  8. This is hot but the 2006 Cypha was the best with Papoose, Lupe, Styles P, Saigon, Sway, Rhymefest, and Remy Ma: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFYsl_0p77k
  9. Ruben Studdard "How You Make Me Feel", a lot of people slept on his album this year
  10. This makes the eastern conference playoff race more interesting
  11. Great idea for a thread Tim, I remember the other day coming across this list of all the top albums of the year on amazon.com, you really gotta dig for it but there's still good music out there: http://www.amazon.com/Best-Hip-Hop-Of-2009/lm/R396YE889X3R0Q/ref=cm_lmt_DYNA_f_1_russss1?pf_rd_p=496997511&pf_rd_s=listmania-center&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B002LF5M46&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0CH7J784W7NNZ1ZGA9PA
  12. DMX Feat. Funkmaster Flex, Big Kap, Eve, The Lox, Swizz Beatz, and Drag-On "We In Here"
  13. The Game Feat. Nas & Marsha Ambrosius "Why You Hate The Game"
  14. Top 3: Independence Day Bad Boys Pursuit Of Happyness
