  2. tank feat. ja rule "race against time"(remix)
  3. Freeway Feat. Sheek Louch "Hands Up", this is some heat! http://www.allhiphop.com/stories/multimedi...8/21575729.aspx
  4. Well I think you're onto somethin' Da Brakes, when "Exit 13" came out a lot of people were thinkin' that LL's dissing Jay-Z on "Dear Hip Hop": "If he's so hot then why is the culture frozen?"
  5. Well LL Cool J said on "The Truth" song on Kay Slay's album: "I used to lose battles on purpose so cats could dream more"
  6. Industry Insider Reveals "Secret War" Between LL Cool J and Jay-Z May 15th, 2009 | Author: Salima KoromaFormer entertainment lawyer turned author and part-time blogger, Reggie Ossé, shared in his blog today stories of a long ago “secret war” between LL Cool J and Jay-Z [click here]. The blog, called Combat Jack With Today’s Mathematics, recounts Damon Dash and DJ Clark Kent’s efforts to provoke a Rap battle between the then '90s king, LL, and the relatively unknown rookie rapper, Jay-Z. “[Dame and Clark] figured if Jay was known as the dude that kilt LL in battle, record labels would take note and give him that much sought after deal,” wrote Ossé. “Dame and Clark had the plan laid out, whenever LL was spotted by either of them, they would page each other and Jay and get him to meet at whatever location LL was. This went on a couple of times. Once contacted, Jay would roll up to the club, bar or whatever venue and lay in the cut, waiting for his opportunity to attack LL in battle. Dame would polly with, then taunt LL about how Jay was nicer than him, was ready to take his spot even. LL's ego would result in him agreeing to go head to head against the young and then unknown challenger.” At the time (circa 1992) LL had found success with his Grammy-winning album Mama Said Knock You Out, and was known as the king of battle Rap. However, as Ossé tells it, LL had lost those secret battles with Jay-Z. “Dame and Clark would end up in my office the following day, laughing about how Jay lit that ass up. Every time too. They was a bit sour too, cause after each battle, LL would kill the vibe, crush Jay's high by flinging the ‘Yo, my next record is dropping next month, uhm, when's yours coming out again, scrap?’ line at him. Jay, Dame and Clark didn't like that ****. Not one bit. I'm betting those battles are the reason LL is still kinda aggie towards Jay.” Between 2006 and 2008, Jay-Z's presidency at Def Jam Records resulted in a public disapproval from veteran artist LL Cool J, who felt that his career and projects were mishandled, despite deing an artist since 1985 for the label.
  7. Well the Lakers were gonna play today anyway no matter what anyway Visqo, I think that they'd preferred to give the Nuggets 2 days less rest than drop Game 6 on purpose Now what do y'all think about the Magic and Cavs in the East Finals since the Celtics are done now, I think that the Cavs might come out rusty against this hungry Magic team, Magic in 6
  8. That LL Cool J interview came out around the time "10" dropped back in the fall of '02, I remember posting it here on this forum a couple years ago, yahoo.com seemed to have deleted a lot of their old stuff I tried looking for it today and couldn't find it, that sucks for real I also remember that Kool Moe Dee listed Will at #23 in his list of the 50 Greatest MCs and there was an interview posted here with Ice Cube saying that he and Will are very supportive of each others careers Now when it comes to Eminem yeah I posted that interview from Vibe Magazine a couple years ago with that ATOJ producer C. Haggins(He co-produced 'It's All Good' on "Big Willie Style"), Em got great taste in hip hop music it's just funny how he could put out wack material, lol
  9. Hey homie I got another quote for ya here too from Skillz where he defends Will from when Eminem made "Real Slim Shady": http://www.allhiphop.com/stories/features/...2/20324313.aspx "Right. And I didn’t appreciate it. Especially after he had been to Jazzy Jeff’s studio, recorded a song with Jazzy Jeff and Will. You know, who the f**k is going to meet the Fresh Prince and be cocky? We all wanted to be the Fresh Prince. What n***a wouldn’t want the career the Fresh Prince has had? What n***a wouldn’t use that as inspiration? When he said, “Will Smith don’t have to curse in his raps to sell records but I do/so f**k him and f**k you too,” I was like, nah, B. Not after you was just down there in the studio! I ain’t appreciate that."
  10. You're welcome dude, yeah I wanna see that article when you're done with it, that's what's up
  11. it's hard to believe the Lakers are blowing out the Rockets here with Kobe having an off game by his standards, i don't think they'll be able to beat the nuggets if kobe aint playing at his best
  12. When it comes to radio rappers I'd rather listen to Eminem than most to be honest but he hasn't really been at a high level since 2000, I did listen to those bonus tracks over the weekend and they're both dope, better than most of the songs that're on the album btw, I especially think that "My Darling" is real creative
  13. http://www.publicenemy.com/index.php?page=page3&item=9 "This was before MICHAEL GREENE took over in 1988, a great guy whom immediately instituted the category that year. The winner was JAZZY JEFF AND THE FRESH PRINCE who, just having toured with them for two years, I was happy for. The point was making sure rap was respected…."-Chuck D, who said by JJFP winning the first rap grammy, rap was respected, there's a few other terrordomes too where he gives props to JJFP I couldn't find that interview on Yahoo.com to find that LL Cool J interview where he said that he wanted to get Will on the track "After School" on his "10" album before he got Diddy on it, he said in there that he and Will been friends for a long time http://contactmusic.com/new/xmlfeed.nsf/mn...sing_19_04_2006 veteran PERCY 'MASTER P' MILLER has warned budding rapper BOW WOW to stop dissing established stars, or face the consequences. Master P, who escaped jail in March (06) after pleading no contest to charges of possessing unregistered firearms, has slammed Bow Wow for starting an argument with his son LIL' ROMEO on record. And Miller was amused when Bow Wow hid behind his bodyguard when the two teen stars came face-to-face at the Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards show on 1 April (06). He tells AllHipHop.com, "We have nothing against Bow Wow. His bodyguard used to work for me so I was hollerin' at him. Romeo wanted to holla at Bow Wow, but he Bow Wow didn't want to talk. "He ran in his trailer. Bow Wow better be lucky he got a good person with him, which is his bodyguard, because Romeo wanted to go in the trailer." Bow Wow, 19, has also launched vitriolic lyrics at a host of big names - and Master P is concerned he will one day be forced to pay for his indiscriminate insults. He continues, "I just think Bow Wow done sold a couple records and got real cocky, and forgot where he came from. He dissed almost everybody in the industry. How you gonna diss WILL SMITH? Then he came back and dissed RONALD ISLEY, OMARION, and now he's taking shots at ROME. "Bow Wow is older now and we from the streets - 14 and 15-year-olds will kill you. When you diss someone, you have to be accountable. To us, when you're 12 years old you're a man in the hood. "So I just think right now (Bow Wow) gotta stop getting beside himself and realise that it's real out here." There was an interview posted on BBC.com with Jazzy Jeff where Fat Joe came in the studio at the same time and said that everything Will Smith does is money and that both him and Jeff are rap icons When Lost and Found came out Jay-Z, Nas, and Rakim all came out and showed Will support in an article, it was posted here on this website http://www.jazzyjefffreshprince.com/interv...ic-educator.htm "I knew Will Smith for years. I've always looked up to him and his contributions to spreading Hip Hop to the world. So, when it was time for him to record a new album, I jumped at the chance. I had the "Switch" beat and hook on hand before I hooked up with Will. I never had a particular artist in mind for it. The track was so different, I never knew who it was right for. "Switch" was so different I felt Will would be the only artist to pull it off. "-Kwame http://www.jazzyjefffreshprince.com/interv...iphop-moses.htm "Hip Hop is about young fun, kicking it to girls, dancing, singing along to the lyrics, having a good time, snapping on each other's mothers, pushing a nice car, etc. And the song that is the best at illustrating that is SUMMERTIME. And yawl need to stop sleeping on my man Will, Fix your Face!!!"-Kel Spencer Now I could think of some songs where Will gets some love: The Game Feat. Keisha Cole: "Now that's some real s***, Blaze a Philly It's The Summertime, Shoutout To Will Smith, 'cause who didn't wanna be the Fresh Prince?, Flat Top Gold Chain And Some Fresh Kicks" Foxy Brown "BK Anthem": "Out here in the borough of BK/With Will Smith's chips we get jiggy all day" Nas "Can't Forget About You": "Can't Forget That The First Rap Grammy Went To Jazzy and Fresh Prince" Pos from De La Soul Feat. Jazzy Jeff "Clap":"You're Like Will Who Makes The Mills As An Actor/You're The DJ, I'm Still The Rapper" Rhymefest Feat. Jazzy Jeff "Jeff N Fess": Jeff's the DJI'm the emceeI grab the mic, he punch the MPC It's like '88I'll play WillHe's The DJ, I'm The Rapper, lookI got skills" Kanye West Feat. Fabolous "Like This":"I've been fresh since Will Smith was a Fresh Prince" CL Smooth feat. Jazzy Jeff "All I Know":"If I'm a king that should make you a Fresh Prince" DMX's "We In Here": "How you gonna jack Will Smith on a beat? That's like jackin' me in the streets, it ain't happening"
  14. It's a rough week for the NBA and the fans since we lost both Chuck Daly and Wayman Tisdale to cancer, Rest In Peace To Both On another note I think the Magic and Lakers are gonna win 2morrow in Game 7's, what do y'all think?
  15. I found this hot remix to DMX's "Get It On The Floor" on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSzN2LCIFF0...re=channel_page
  16. I can't wait until next Tuesday comes, "Back On My B.S." is about to drop somethin' heavy on this rap game
  17. Thanks for the review Turntable, can't wait till next Tuesday!!
  18. Damn Turntable you lucky bastard, lol, I just found this new hot track on allhiphop.com: http://allhiphop.com/stories/multimedia__m...4/21563447.aspx
  19. A lot of these interviews and songs were posted right here on this forum many times, I brought a lot of that stuff to this forum myself as well, you could dig through some my old posts and find 'em, there's countless others I didn't mention that gave Will props, he got more credability than these radio rappers put together these days, yeah Joe Budden's dope, he reps 'Jersey well btw, I remember that he mentioned Will being a legend in a song where he dissed Jay-Z last year... Will should release another album with dope collabs like what he did on "Willenium", a mixture of up and coming and veteran guest appearances, this time release the dope tracks as singles though, imagine how big Kel could be at this point if "Uhhh" had an official video, it'd been huge...
  20. Jazzy Jeff Feat. Big Daddy Kane "The Garden"
  21. 1. Why should Will help upcoming MC's, when most cats don't respect or ignore his contributions to rap music? 2. If there is someone he should help to get in mainstream, he have to at least have some similarities with him music or characterwise. Just as Dr. Dre supports just gangsta rap, it would not make sense for him to support Nick Cannon. 3. Mention some young talented Philly MC! Most of them talk the usual ****...guns,cars, money, hoes and love to cuss! I think hip hops capitol is nowadays chicago with talented young rappers like Lupe Fiasco or Gemini. 1-That statement's false, Will's very much respected for his contributions to the rap community, especially since "Lost and Found" came out, many known mcs in hip hop you could think of like Nas, Jay-Z, Rhymefest, CL Smooth, The Game, Fat Joe, Common, LL Cool J, Chuck D, Ice T, Kool Moe Dee, Rakim, and The Roots have given Will props in interviews and songs 2-That's a valid point, I feel the same way, there are plenty of true mcs on the underground level that Will could have chemistry with 3-What about all those young talented Philly mcs that Jazzy Jeff works with like Black Ice, Twone Yabz, and Dave Ghetto? Like Jazzy Jeff mentioned in interviews there's plenty of dope music out there but the radio only plays the same 10 wack songs every day and you might not know it, definately agree that since Kanye came along there's been more rappers from Chicago blowing up that're dope, there's still alot of dope music from many regions out there still though, like Rakim once said it ain't where ya from it's where ya at, real hip hop could never die
  22. Yeah "Born To Reign" is probably my least favorite Will Smith album but it still was better than most hip hop albums out back then and most albums out right now and you really think "Momma Knows" is a wack song Jim? I know it ain't on the same level as 2Pac's "Dear Mama" but it's still a deep song, I played that on Mother's Day
