  1. i'd rather see this song get lit get airplay more than 99% of what's out now and it'll led to more music if it goes viral so promoting it is a win win!
  2. welcome back to the board defcem and welcome to the convo jim! now @DefCEM i think Will Smith is similar to my other favorite rapper LL Cool J in the fact that they both like to do the Prince/Michael Jackson experimenting with their music, all of their albums have a different sound to them, I don't see nothing wrong with it because I appreciate all kinds of music, a lot of these so called hip hop heads want to hear the same thing all of the time and that's boring, sure I wouldn't mind Code Red 2018 but at the same time like AJ said that wouldn't make much sense the more that I think about it, Code Red was great for 1993 but 25 years later calls for something original, each album is a time capsule... now @DevilsJim89 realistically speaking in 2017 is Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, and Chance The Rapper spitting original BARS on the level of KRS One, Big Daddy Kane, and Rakim???? HELL NO, compared to the original MCS of the 1980s and 1990s 99% of today's rappers are wack including them, NO EXCEPTIONS, I rather listen to Nastradamus than any album by a current rapper in the last 10 years, will doesn't need to worry about competing with any of them he's running his own race, will could say 99% of today's rappers are wack just like Michael Jordan could say 28 NBA teams are garbage cause nobody touching 90s legends, i'm not a bitter old head saying that either cause anybody with common sense at any age could see that today's music is disposable art, i can't picture many people listening to today's rappers 20 years from now when today's albums lose replay value in less than a week and as kids mature they'll learn to appreciate albums like LL's "Todd Smith" and Will's "Born To Reign", and yes i'd definately like to see "Code Red 2018" and "14 Shots To The Dome 2018" to knock out today's wack rappers but really anything that they come up with will do with me... btw i'm so PUMPED to see more life on this board FINALLY, posting on JJFP.com always beats posting on social media to fake people anyday! here's the get lit youtube audio, let's promote this if we want new music cause even though it's not brand new funk it's still better than 99% of what's out:
  3. i guess i should be happy at this point will's doing any new songs musically cause after 30 years he's a hip hop icon that has nothing to prove, he's on the same level as LL Cool J, Dr Dre, Chuck D, Queen Latifah, KRS ONE, etc that could basically do what he wants at this point because today's new rappers ain't touching the old school! us fans should appreciate that they're here because we lost Pac Biggie Left Eye Heavy D and Guru etc, bottomline sure i wish that he'd do less movies and give a higher priority to his music but that's his peroggative not mine, i have to respect his career choice whether i like it or not...
  4. pink is not somebody i talk about often but this album is well done...
  5. here's another writing i did called "flowing emotions" for anyone that cares, i'm sitting on so much heat right now! as the pictures are painted all these thoughts are claimed through all of the higher stakes like will smith said pump ya brakes not everything is a piece of cake getting refreshing vision today as i get this to work everyday despite the pain, destined to be great the mixture won't ever go to waste putting it all in the recipe for relevant taste it stands as an open devotion it stands bigger than a magic potion and runs longer than the deepest ocean what i do in my life keeps you open it all represents with flowing emotions
  6. that's big jeff's doing another tour, he should announce at all of his shows that JJFP fans need to rally and sign my petition to get JJFP in HOF!
  7. 9 signatures after 1 week????!!! come on now JJFP have sold 30 million albums, it shouldn't be that difficult to get signatures, it's not like saying i should be in the hall of fame(at least not yet haha!) now we should tweet this to jeff, we'd at least get 1000s of signatures if he posted, he could announce it in his shows, and it'd go viral if will posted on his facebook page of 75 million followers: btw here's the updated article: This pioneering group opened the doors for a lot of hip hop artists to have success and longevity in the entertainment industry. 2019 will mark the 30th anniversary of them winning the 1st ever grammy award in hip hop back in 1989 for the song "Parents Just Don't Understand" off of the groundbreaking 1988 album "He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper". It was the excellent storytelling and wordplay on that record that convinced the legendary Quincy Jones to give JJFP the legendary sitcom "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air" in 1990 which opened the doors for other rappers like LL Cool J and Ice T to have opportunities acting on television shows today. People of all ages over the years would play at cookouts the classic 1991 record "Summertime" off of another groundbreaking hip hop album "Homebase" which was considered a strong comeback record after Fresh Prince faced financial issues at a young age, the album "Homebase" would cement JJFP to legendary status. I know their last official album was 1993's "Code Red" and despite it's low record sales it's had a long lasting impact among it's core fanbase to this day nearly 25 years later with the hit song "Boom! Shake The Room", the turntable special "I Wanna Rock", and the Teddy Riley assisted "I'm Looking For The One"(to be with me) among many others on a hip hop heads classic album. Now they'd go on to do countless more work since then, in particular Will doing blockbuster fims like "Men In Black" and "Hitch" in between his musical collaborations with Jeff on the hit albums "Big Willie Style", "Willennium", and "Lost and Found" and Jazzy Jeff doing production for everyone from Jill Scott and The Roots to hip hop favorites like Kel Spencer and Dayne Jordan. Now it'd be fitting for us hip hop heads to reward them with the ultimate honor in music entertainment, an induction to the 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, btw I'm hoping to get enough signatures to have committee consider making a push for 2018 along with LL Cool J repping the real hip hop music, let's do this people! Btw if you need a refresher on their music here's a playlist of their songs over their 30+ year career! http://www.jazzyjefffreshprince.com/forum/topic/16152-big-teds-jjfp-30-playlist-also-featuring-music-by-potnasl/
  8. i suggest all JJFP fans need to rally behind LL Cool J and vote him for the hall of fame if there's any glimmer of hope of other real artists like JJFP, KRS One, Heavy D and the Boyz, and Eric B and Rakim to get in....
  9. i like ja rule but legal issues ended his career not eminem, clap back was a strong battle record he held his own.... record sales doesn't necessary prove how relevant you are either then vanilla ice and drake would be in the GOAT convo since they both sold millions and nelly ended krs one's career right? i'm not trying to bash eminem altogether cause i do respect his talent but i find a majority of his music annoying, will really sparred eminem and g unit in 2005 cause majority of us know he coulda easily said in the song "lost and found" and released as a single then and it woulda changed history, "lost is eminem and 50 cent/found is lauryn hill and rakim" which was 100% true then and now, the reason why 50 is less relevant than em is cause he's black and em's white but they're both the same annoying rappers ro me..btw i love lose yourself and wanksta but i could easily name 100 songs in hip hop better including summertime, brand new funk, and gettin jiggy wit it...btw at this point will will always stay relevant cause he has 10+ albums worth of material including his greatest hits, there's enough material out there, he has nothing more to prove, he's been in the game 30+ years, classic hip hop is more original so it'll always stay relevant since 99% of today's rappers are biters...
  10. those who consider eminem the GOAT don't know the history of hip hop since rappers like kool moe dee, big daddy kane, slick rick, rakim, and melle mel would roast him (i'm not saying that cause he's white either since i think the beastie boys would too) and in that freestyle he did to Trump he dissed his own fans too, i'm not trying to make this will vs eminem cause it's really no contest will is a pioneer in music, movies, and tv entertainment and eminem is a rapper with above average talent that's wasted making garbage songs dissing people that ain't even relevant to rap on the most part, if he dissed somebody i mentioned like those above or the other old school legends his career would've ended a long time ago...a lot of these so called hip hop heads are very fickle, a lot of the rappers they praise today they'll be dissing next year, will has enough fans already he just has to take more control of his career like i said and stop listening to yes men, bottom line STOP making irrelevant movies and make that classic JJFP hip hop....
  11. and it's working cause his Trump diss already has more views than Get Lit....btw today is the 24th anniversary of Code Red and i don't think it's gonna trend online at all...
  12. well will has hurt his own career because he should be really be known for his music since that's what got him started, if he released the proper songs as singles on his solo albums then he'd made the hall of fame on the first ballot and more people woulda respected his music, to most people he's the actor that does occasional party songs rather than the strong lyricist that he really is because they didn't pay attention to the songs like "i'm coming", "lost & fond", " don't say nothin", and even "block party", will let the record labels dictate his career, he needs to man up and take more control...btw, speaking of eminem if he really had that much political power he'd dissed trump last year and got his fans to vote for hillary, that's why i rather listen to real leaders like krs one cause they don't just diss somebody cause it's trendy they do what's right..
  13. apparantly the only way to make a strong comeback is to diss Trump hard like Eminem did, i guess he'll go diamond again while Will struggles to go gold with his dance songs....
  14. Unfortunately this book probably wont sell much since everybody's too obsessed with talking about Trump's BS rite now that real hip hop history don't get recognition anymore, man I wish Bill Clinton was still president haha! https://www.broadwayworld.com/bwwmusic/article/New-Book-Chuck-D-Presents-This-Day-In-Rap-and-Hip-Hop-History-Out-1010-20171009
  15. thanks for signing bro! btw i think we should also vote for LL Cool J to get in the HOF, real hip hop should be promoted in masses....
  16. i'm gonna start posting more in this thread, we need more laughs in these times:
  17. this week marks the 24th anniversary of code red, it'd only be fitting to drop a classic hip hop album to comemerate it...
  18. i just tweeted a bunch of classic hip hop/r&b artists that follow/responded to me over the years to see if they'll get on board like Chuck D, MC Hammer, Quincy Jones, DMC, Teddy Riley, LL Cool J, Keith Sweat, Kel Spencer, Dayne Jordan, and I even let Jazzy Jeff know....
  19. will needs to get on this board and deliver what us true fans want, that classic boom bap hip hop, we want "Code Red 2017/2018" haha! btw i had a dream last night that Will made a song dissing President Trump, i wouldn't mind if that dream came true either at this point!
  20. i'd rather hear an album of remixes of the classic JJFP tracks than an album of non hip hop tracks, and yes classic hip hop ain't that marketable anymore since those like KRS One and Public Enemy have released a ton of quality hip hop albums in the last 15+ years and none of them even went gold but do have a lot of credibility among the hip hop heads, Will needs to not worry about sales and do it for the culture like LL Cool J says....
  21. i'd find it shocking if there's no proper rap songs on the album since he's always stayed true to form
  22. thanks for this Tim, will listen to it sometime this weekend!
  23. with my energy focused on getting JJFP in the hall of fame getting another hit song leading to a classic album would certainly help the cause, hopefully this is the worst song like Switch on L&F or Freakin It on Willenium
