  1. I gotta go with Turntable on this one, I find a lot of Andre 3000's solo stuff annoying, it's one thing to try something different but he takes it too far, he's much better at rapping than he is at singing, he needs to make more rhyme flows....
  2. The first half of the album seems much stronger than the 2nd half, I think this album would've been better if it was cut down to about 15-20 tracks, the interludes I find a lil' annoying myself, after hearing the last half of the album I really don't know if it's that much better than "Speakerboxx/Love Below", this seems like an album that might have to grow on me, I only listened to a couple times after I got it last week, Boi and Andre really gotta do more tracks together as well, the movie was very good though and I'll probably get that on DVD....
  3. Ain't Peedie Crack one of them Roc-A-Fella rappers? I don't know if this was the right move to make but you never know I guess, btw I still gotta get the Roots album, hopefully it's much better than the last couple...
  4. I know exactly how you feel man, I don't really like these threads of negativity about how much this rapper sucks or this rapper is overrated, that's been turning me off a lil' bit from this forum lately 'cause I wanna talk about what I like and not think about what I don't like, I'm also more concerned about whether Will's gonna release another album soon 'cause I'd like to hear more music as a fan, I'm not worrying about how much or how lil' the record sells, that's supposed to be the record company's responsibilty and worry...
  5. http://www.allhiphop.com/hiphopnews/?ID=6058 Master P Creates Hip-Hop Gospel Play About Hurricane Katrina By Chris Richburg No Limit Records founder and rapper Master P. is taking his new Hip-Hop gospel play on the road. The play, titled Uncle Willy's Family, features Terry Miles as Uncle Willy, an ex-Vietnam vet who would do anything for his family, even the ones he doesn't care too much for. Willy, who lives with his niece Jacky and her son Chris (Romeo), is forced to deal with a home full of relatives, who arrive after being forced out of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Uncle Willy's Family is the first play from Master P, who stars in the production with Romeo, Silk the Shocker and Miles. Marilyn Harris, Percy Anthony Smith, Iovanna, Erica Pitts and others round out the cast. According to Master P. the play, which includes a gospel choir, offers country humor and inspiration. The play will hit theaters in Meridian, Jackson and Greenwood Mississippi and make a stop in Beaumont, Texas. Miller said additional dates were being added in New Orleans, Houston, Baton Rouge, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, and New York. For more details, visit www.unclewilly.com.
  6. Yeah that'd be cool to see, nuff props for holding JJFP down with this site for a whole decade!! :hail: :hail:
  7. Yeah it's probably just a rumor, Snoop was supposed to do an album with 50 a couple years ago and that never happened, LL never released 2 albums in one year either, usually between 2/3 years for each album just like Will, after he's done touring he's probably gonna do some films(Jamie Foxx was saying that he was planning on working on a film with LL soon) before we get another album...
  8. I like that there's not too many guest on this album that way Janet could do her thing, I agree that "Call On Me"'s a cool song but I think it sounds like she's trying to compete with Ciara and having a rapper on the single like most r&b singles these days, come on now like AJ said she's a megastar, she really should just release something on a different level to be on top of the game, and she looks sexy as always on that album cover, damn...
  9. This topic has been kinda beaten to death, a lot of us wanna see them work together but they just don't seem to have the time to get together and do that which is a shame, it's the type of collab that could take the rap game to another level, and it's been said a few times before that LL was planning on leaving Def Jam(after 14 Shots..., after G.O.A.T., after 10) and it didn't happen yet so we don't know if it will
  10. Exactly what I'm thinking, maybe a family emergency showed up and he couldn't show to the airport, and as an artist that's been down to earth and reaching out to his fans I couldn't picture him doing just turning his back on the troops like this all of a sudden without any reason, especially since he's been critical throughout his career about how other rappers are too greedy and don't give back, this would make him look hypocritical like you said...
  11. There's a long thread in "Caught In The Middle" about this LL-50 so-called collab album rumor came out a couple months ago: http://www.jazzyjefffreshprince.com/forum/...topic=8853&st=0 I recently heard that LL's supposed to hosting an after party with 50 for the MTV Awards this week where 50's trying to keep Lil' Kim and Irv Gotti off the guest list, 50 probably wants LL to help him out in his battles like I said earlier... Anyway it's amazing that Will and LL never have collabed in their careers even though they've been in the game for 2 decades each and they've showed each other much respect, it'd be a shame if they never do anything together but it seems like both their rap careers are winding down and they're gonna do more films so maybe the only collabs from them we might realistically see is if they do a movie together, really though they're sleeping on a great opportunity 'cause ifthey do an album together it'd probably be one of the highest selling albums of all time since they both combine over 50 million albums sold in their careers and most importantly it'd be a great album since they're the two best rappers ever, that'd make a lot of sense, but nobody really wants to see a G.O.A.T. meets the W.O.A.T. album as AJ put it...
  12. This is awesome news, thanks guys!! :wiggle: :gettinjiggywitit:
  13. There are issues about his personal life but mostly every big name artist does have personal issues, but as long he makes great music I'm gonna still buy it and support it
  14. I notice the commercial on TV recently, it comes on tonight at 8PMEST on Fox, I'm gonna tune in
  15. DMX Pulls Out of USO Tour Posted In: Headlines The USO (United Service Organization) announced yesterday that at the last minute DMX pulled out of a scheduled tour of Iraq and Kuwait. According to the USO, the rapper was scheduled to depart for Kuwait on August 22, however, he delayed the departure until the August 23. When the date arrived, DMX failed to arrive on time for his flight. John Hanson, senior vice president for marketing and communications, noted that the organization went to extraordinary lengths to put the trip together in a fraction of the time usually allotted for such a tour. "Typically, it takes up to 45 days to arrange transportation, housing, production assistance and country clearances for entertainment tours," Hanson said in a statement. "This tour was put together in just under two weeks, because we know how much service men and women appreciate his performances. Mr. Simmons let a lot of people down." According to the USO, the rapper offered no explanation as to why he declined to fulfill his commitment http://xxlmag.com/online/?p=4123 I think it's kind odd that DMX didn't comment on why he didn't do it, looking at some of those feedback comments is disgusting, people're overreacting by calling him a crackhead and **** 'cause he didn't go ...
  16. I'm probably gonna get this album sometime this week when I pick up The Roots' album, it's been a pretty great summer for hip-hop with all these hot albums out
  17. I found another tracklisting with details, dunno if this one's true either, it's kinda odd that it'll come out in 2 weeks without a single being released and a video: http://angryape.com/news/2006/08/nas-hip-h...ing-and-details Hip hop star Nas has finally revealed which tracks will make his new album Hip Hop Is Dead, as well as the list of collaborators set to feature. 15 tracks will be included and a host of names such as his wife Kelis and fellow rapper Scarface appear. The album will be hitting record shops on September 11th in the UK and September 12th in the States. Hip Hop Is Dead Track Listing: 01. Wake Up New York (Intro) 02. Bullet X 03. What's Good NY 04. We Were Gangstas-Feat. Scarface 05. Mexico 06. QB Savages-Feat. Bravehearts 07. Polo And Guess 08. Unauthorized Biography Of KRS-ONE 09. The Nasty One 10. Seed Of Sekou 11. Legendary 12. Rebel To America 13. Hallie Selassie 14. Moon Featuring Kelis 15. Talk Of NY (Bonus Track)
  18. Yeah I think I would've noticed by now if that album really did come out by now 'cause Keith Sweat's one of my favorites, I thought that the album was called "Candy Store" and was supposed to come out last year, hopefully the new album comes out soon, and btw if there's no album cover then I doubt that it actually out yet, that site has the album covers for all his albums but not that one...
  19. I think the thing that Will was saying that the only way MTV and BET's gonna play a rap video is if it has throwback jerseys, rims, and a lot of models while they pass up playing rap videos that don't show that, that's probably why "Tell Me Why" video never came out either,he feels that if they only choose to play videos with that thug life image,it's hurting the public's perception of the rap game into thinking that all rappers are thugs but it's not like that, it's not 50's fault if MTV chooses play his videos all day and don't play The Roots' video much, these video networks must give all types of artist a chance to get their video played, that's sorta like what Jazzy mentioned too it's sorta bad if any songs or videos get overplayed when there's a lot that need to get out there, I don't think Will has beef with gangsta rap, he got beef when gangsta rap is overexposed as the only image of rappers on a mainstream level, there's nothing wrong with somebody like NWA going platinum when there's also somebody like Run-Dmc going platinum, that's what made the golden era so great, there was all styles of rap getting recognised, there shouldn't be one style dominating more than another, at the same time if gangsta rap never came along rap wouldn't have much credibility if everyone was doing party songs... But that wasn't happening for a while back in the mid-90s when Will decided not to rap for awhile, and like it was for the past couple years, but this year it's slowly turning around, nobody's really getting overplayed, there's not one or two rappers at the moment selling 10 million with everyone else not selling, the balance is coming around, yeah Young Jeezy went platinum but Kanye went platinum too, Young Joc went gold but so did LL Cool J, it's gonna take a while to get back to the golden era again but there's still some quality music out there like Busta, DMX, Outkast, LL, Ice Cube, Pharrell, etc. to show you that there's an alternative to other rappers like Lil' Kim, Young Joc, Lil' Wayne, and Rick Ross... And come on now I could name 3 tracks on "Born To Reign" that are worse than "Da Butta"...
  20. I don't think it came out yet, I was watching Keisha Cole's reality show on BET and she was in the studio recording with him
  21. Yeah really quality of the music is all that matters, I'll be dissapointed if Will's next album sells 200K and sounds like "Born To Reign" but I wouldn't mind if the next album's great music like "Code Red" and sells 200K, and btw "Big Willie Style" only sold 60,000 copies in it's first week and started out at #8 on the charts but yet went on to sell 9 million albums in America and 12 million worldwide so it's not how you start it's how you finish, remember Beanie Siegal had a better 1st week than Will when "Lost and Found" came out at #6 but Beanie went on to only sell 300K while "Lost and Found" sold 685K, there's quite a bit of albums that come out at #1 in it's first week and fail to go platinum, especially these days where people download so much, Busta Rhymes and DMX had strong 1st weeks with their recent albums but they're probably gonna sell around the same as "Lost and Found"...
  22. Well I think MJ's planning on coming back with an album next year but who knows though with him, he was supposed to be working on a Hurricane Katrina song with a bunch of other artists and that was a year ago and that still hasn't even came out, hopefully he does come out with something in the near future to bounce back from all the controversey
  23. Well millions of white kids buy into Em's garbage, he's probably shooting for his fanbase, but of course he's so horrible that he makes Em's "Encore" sound like "Paid In Full"...
  24. It's nice to see people come to their senses for once to call a wack rapper wack, it'd be nice to see one wack rapper flop for a change :kekeke: Hip-Hop Community On K-Fed's Debut: 'He's A Joke' NEW YORK (August 21, 2006) -- Kevin Federline's TV debut as a rapper is getting derided as a not-ready-for-prime-time disaster by critics in cyberspace and the hip-hop community. On Sunday, Federline -- also known has K-Fed and Mr. Britney Spears -- performed his new single "Lose Control" to the peppy crowd at the eighth annual Teen Choice Awards, which aired on Fox. Introduced by his wife, who was dressed in a cleavage-baring mini-dress despite her late pregnancy, Federline stalked about the stage with attitude as he rapped about his bling, popping Cristal (obviously oblivious of the whole hip-hop Cristal boycott) and his amazing rhyming skills. "Don't hate because I'm a superstar! And I'm married to a superstar! Nothin' come between us no matter who you are!" he declared, as dancers pop-locked as his side. It was the most anticipated performance of the night -- and the most ridiculed. By morning, videos of it were splashed on Web sites like YouTube.com and various blogs, accompanied by catty comments mocking both Federline and his wife. If the Web world isn't exactly accepting of Federline's rap-star ambitions, the hip-hop community is even less so. Elliot Wilson, editor in chief of XXL magazine, hadn't seen Federline's TV debut. Still, he called it a "YouTube disaster" -- something to be laughed off in hip-hop circles. "I just think we ignore him," Wilson told The Associated Press on Monday. "He's a joke, basically. ... I just don't think he gets it. He doesn't get that he's Britney's man and it's hard to take him seriously." Jermaine Hall, executive editor of King magazine, echoes that sentiment. "The thing that really hurts him is the fact that he's perceived as Britney's husband," Hall, who had yet to see the performance, told the AP. "You know, kinda like Britney's second -- I don't even want to say second in command, but -- he's like the Britney Boy. He's like Mrs. Spears, and it's kinda hard to get over that perception." Federline is expected to release his debut hip-hop album "Playing With Fire" in October. Hall said that despite the barbs K-Fed is getting, he still has a shot at success. "All you can do, is really just keep on plugging," Hall said. "He's definitely going to have a teenage female fan base"
