  1. I notice on the DVD how he does a song in the studio that wasn't appearing on the album, it was very dope too, hopefully it pops up on a mixtape or something...
  2. "in the name of Jesus! Devil I rebuke you, for what I go through Been tryna make me do, what I used to (WHAT!) But all that stops right here (YEAH!) As long as the Lord's in my life, I will have no fear I will know no pain from the light to the dark (COME ON!) I will no show no shame, spit it right from the heart (COME ON!) 'Cause it's right from the start, you held me down And ain't.. nothin they can tell me now!"-DMX "Lord Give Me A Sign"
  3. Happy Birthday fuq!!! :wiggle:
  4. I've been basically listening to this album non-stop since I got it yesterday and I gotta say that this definately brings DMX back to his top form and is easily one of the best albums you'll find in hip-hop this year, his career has gone full circle, in '98 he brought an alternative to all that bling bling crap that was dominating the radio at the time and now in '06 he brings an alternative to the snap crap that's on the airwaves now, he's a true artist that doesn't follow trends that's why these pop rappers can't check a mic for him and have half the career he's had, the way that the industry's been it's amazing that he'd be going for his 6th straight #1 album where we most true mcs can't even go platinum once, it's amazing that he's had the same/more success than rappers like Jay-Z and Ja Rule who had to water themselves down to stay on the charts during that time, but anyway on to the album now it lives up to the it's title of being the year of the dog again since it bangs from the Intro through "Lord Give Me A Sign", X shows on this album how he is a man among boys in the rap game, the highlights in between are "Come Thru"(Move) with Busta, "Baby Motha", "Dog Love" with Amerie and Janyce, "Give Them What They Want", "Blown Away" with Jinx and Janyce, "GoodBye", "Life Be My Song", and "The Prayer IV", I give the album 8 out of 10 this is an album that real hip-hop heads that're frustrated by the state of hip-hop need to go out and support btw, I agree with AJ that the DVD is really not much special and basically cover topics that've been addressed before, if some of his fans been living under a rock it's good for them to catch up and see why he wanted to leave the rap game for a while and the situation with Jay-Z at Def Jam, but it's a nice lil' bonus though, I'd really like to see "Soul Of A Man" get released on DVD though
  5. Sorry I'm a lil' late too but yeah that's good to hear that you enjoyed your birthday :kool:
  6. Well today's the release date for this album here in the US so later on after I come back from work I'll be on with my feedback...
  7. Well I'm gonna put a quick summary of all these since they've basically been discussed here before- DMX "We In Here"-DMX is dissing Def Jam for releasing Rhianna's single that jacked the "Switch" beat while his single got shelved from being released, leading to him now being on Columbia and releasing his new album this week btw Game "Start From Scratch"-Game's probably referring to one of his street homies named Big Will, not Big Will the rapper And basically the Big Willie that Outkast refers to "In Due Time" there is basically just slang for top playa, big dawg, in there it's just being said that person's not big enough yet to be the top playa Nuff said, close thread...
  8. Well obviously you haven't been paying much attention to this thread, if you just took a minute to look you'd see I was speaking to AJ about Fat Joe's, BEP's, Nick Cannon's credability since he brought up that BEP represents real hip-hop and Fat Joe is a sellout but come on now if anyone in the 'hood's gonna own albums from any of these rappers the odds'll be that they'll own a Fat Joe album and they wouldn't laugh as hard as they'd if you told them that Fat Joe's an all time great but if you told someone in the 'hood that Nick Cannon's an all time great, they'll be like  Hip-hop is music from the streets, their opinion should matter before kids from the suburbs that's why hip-hop is as trash the way it is, it needs to become less mainstream and more of an underground genre, that's why the golden era was so great 'cause hip-hop wasn't as popular as it is now so it wasn't driven by greedy A&R's, and now I was talking to you Silver Tiger about how there's no need to trip over the wackness that's out there since it's easy to get good stuff right at your fingertips, I mean you could do it from right there on your PC, I could see if it was 20-25 years ago we could just go by what's on TV or the radio but now times have changed....
  9. I don't like listening to the radio that much and I watch MTV rarely, most of what I do these days is look into the internet for music and just play the CDs I buy on the most part, except when somebody like LL and Busta have an album out doing real well then I'll check more often to the radio and MTV, and now internet radio stations are good too, they play real **** that the real radio don't touch on unfortunately since that's not what the kids from the suburbs want to hear, as long as the kids keep buying into the dumbed down music I don't expect much to change really so it don't really bother me as it used to 'cause I just spend time on what I like and don't give a damn about what the kids like 'cause they'll get over it gradually since that music is just trend music anyway and they'll gradually check for good music when they get older if they're still interested in hip-hop, btw if you bring down Fat Joe for selling out then you gotta bring down Black Eyed Peas, Nitty, etc. 'cause their music is much more watered down and gimmicky than Fat Joe's ever been, he has more street credability than all of them combined, you brought down Fat Joe for making lyrics that you wrote when you were six but come on now you gotta admit that "My Humps" sounds like a preschool rhyme, lol, all Fat Joe did was flip a lyric that 50 wrote anyway to diss 50 back so really it's 50 writing the six year old rhymes not Fat Joe, lol, not too many outside of kids from the suburbs'll consider Black Eyed Peas one of the best groups out now or's gonna put them up with Run-Dmc as an all time group, hip-hop heads would definately rank Fat Joe closer to KRS, LL, etc. than they'd rank Nick Cannon close to KRS, LL, etc. type of level...
  10. Black Eyed Peas represent real hip-hop and Fat Joe doesn't? :jusmindyabizness: btw, the way I see it when it comes to the way the hip-hop industry is, there ain't enough so called "real hip-hop heads" to make a change it seems, only kids buy the albums so how do you expect it to change? Just buy what you like and stop complaining, even if it ain't popular who cares, just buy it 'cause you like it, don't worry about the crap everybody else chooses to listen to...
  11. Yeah I thought "Freeze" wasn't the type of song to release as a single, I think "Favorite Flavor" with Mary J. would blow up if it was released but it seems like nobody's smart enough at Def Jam to release it, and yeah the idea of LL doing an album with 50 is something that wouldn't work no matter how you try to slice it, they're on opposite ends of the hip-hop spectrum, not many LL's fans like 50 and most of 50's fans are too stupid to comprehend LL's lyrics so I don't really see that many people buying it, at the most I hope 50's just appearing on one song like what Snoop did with having 50 on one song instead of the whole album when he released "Rhythm And Gangsta" like it was originally planned, btw Jim u gonna try to go see him perform in Atlantic City next Saturday? I'm considering going...
  12. Well the reason why Game has been dissin' 50 so much is 'cause 50 tried blackballing Game from releasing more singles from "The Documentary" when it was on top of the charts last year, 50 was the one who got jealous of Game 'cause he saw that Game was getting more buzz than he was getting so he wanted to shut him down, 50 has too much of an ego and didn't want to see any of his artists he works with do better than him, Game had to take money from his own budget to shoot "Put You In The Game" and then 50 came out to try to stop Game from working with Dr. Dre, now you tell me who's the immature one here, on the most part Game's just defending himself and I think that since this drama happened people see 50 in a whole new light with his ego and that's why the G-Unit albums ain't doing as well as they used to on the charts 'cause the public's getting turned off by him and his egotistical tactics, Game did the right thing to distance himself from that camp so now he has a better chance of having a good career, now that the most credible rapper from G-Unit is officially gone it's probably the mark of the end of G-Unit's reign...
  13. Cant blame him for that  I think a million guys would do the same thing if they were standing next to her like that :kool:
  14. Wow AJ I'm a lil'surprised you don't have Snoop's albums, you seem to be his biggest supporter on this board...
  15. Fat Joe reminds me a lot like Snoop where he was really putting out great stuff when he first came out but then a lot of his recent stuff has been basically a step down and a lil' repetitive but he's still a dope mc overall, with him putting more personal stuff on this album it could be closer to the level of his earlier stuff,he needs to stop working with a few less pop rapproducers and get Premo back on the boards again too...
  16. Well a few years ago I remember reading online that Snoop was planning on doing an album with 50 and it didn't come out yet, that was around the "Get Rich..." times and I'm sure if LL really was working on this album by now I'm sure 50's big mouth would've been commenting on it by now, lol, yeahI think LL's too busy touring for "Todd Smith" and now working on this TV show to release another album so fast anyway, this show sounds hot btw, can't wait till it comes out...
  17. Thanks for posting this, I'll definately be checking for this album
  18. Well Game got what he wanted there by getting out of G-Unit finally and Dr. Dre'll still be involved with the album so I imagine that 50 must be :arg:
  19. Like fuqI like some songs that I've heard from Donell Jones but I never really got around to checking any of his albums either, I might look into him a bit more...
  20. That's good to hear that Snoop's gonna be a lil' more diverse this time 'cause some of his recent stuff has been kinda repetitive, he's still one of the dopest mcs though... Snoop Dogg Offers Deeper Perspective On 'Blue Carpet Treatment' By Chris Richburg Date: 7/26/2006 9:00 pm Rapper Snoop Dogg has more than gangsta rhymes in store for fans as he prepares to deliver his upcoming album, The Blue Carpet Treatment. The album’s title offers a different spin on the traditional treatment reserved for influential people. "Everybody’s so used to getting the red carpet treatment. I said I’m gonna give you the blue carpet treatment," Snoop Dogg told AllHipHop.com. "You know what it is. It's one of them records that I’ve really been dying to put out, something that’s really me from top to bottom all the way, you understand." Cameos from Young Jeezy, E-40, Stevie Wonder, R. Kelly, Pharrell, B-Real and Ne-Yo are slated for the album, which will include production from Timbaland, Pharell, Dr. Dre, Frequency, Battlecat and Supafly. "I thoroughly thought it out," said Snoop, who admitted the new album harbors a deeper perspective on various topics. "Not that the other ones wasn’t right. This is just more to where a n***a is a little older, wiser and know my direction on where I’m going and a little bit more sufficient about what I say now, you understand." The Blue Carpet Treatment will hit stores in October.

  22. Yeah him and his brother, much respect to the Bennett brothers...
  23. Yeah I find these weekly breads pretty helpful and motivative to my faith and life in general, I read them over and over a lot of times that I'm online 'cause they're very powerful messages...
  24. "I'm tired of n----z complainin how the game changed You n----z should step up your game, cause you sound strange That's why you ain't sellin no records, check the SoundScain In this rap s--- I command"-Busta "You Can't Hold The Torch"
  25. "The Documentary" had some good songs on it but I think the heavy influence of G-Unit brought it down a lil' bit, now that he's away from there I think that this album'll probably turn out better, he got potential...
