  1. Btw I was about to post this on here, I found a link to it on Allhiphop.com message board, a lot of people are saying that the album's wack, it's kinda ironic that they're giving props to Will yesterday and dissin' LL today, lol, btw I'm gonna get the album of course when it drops before I listen to it myself too
  2. I got respect for what NWA and Wu-Tang Clan have done for hip-hop but I'm not really that much into them and I don't own all their albums since they ain't really my favorites, I always check for what Ice Cube does individually, he by far stands out the most in NWA and the group crumbled once he left, I could understand the same thing about those who might not be that much into Will's music but as long as they respect his impact on the game is all that should matter, you don't have to own every album to have respect somebody... The one thing I don't get is why do they just honor Rakim, why ain't it Eric B. + Rakim getting honored? That's just as wack as Eazy-E being honored but not NWA, Eazy-E needed NWA and Rakim needed Eric B., that's when they were in their music primes, that'd be like honoring Will Smith and not Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince, I hope that don't happen either :paperbag:
  3. Yeah Eazy-E is probably the weakest mc in NWA by far, it's wack that they honor him before the other members just 'cause he's dead, that'd be like honoring Flava Flav and not Public Enemy, in fact Flava Flav is probably a better mc than Eazy-E, lol, there's no question Big Pun is by far a better lyricist than Eazy-E, he could rap circles around him, he didn't have many hits but if they go by hits then they wouldn't honor Big Daddy Kane, KRS-ONE, or Rakim either 'cause they didn't have much commercial success, I wouldn't complain if Pun got honored before Eazy-E
  4. Amazon.com Jumps Gun on NCAA Winner Tue Apr 4, 11:58 AM ET SEATTLE - College basketball fans may have been surprised to turn on their computers Monday morning and find an e-mail from Amazon.com Inc. proclaiming, "UCLA Wins." ADVERTISEMENT The online retailer mistakenly sent the e-mail to customers ahead of the NCAA championship game Monday night between the Florida Gators and the UCLA Bruins. The body of the e-mail included the message "Congratulations (placeholder for winning team)," and went on to offer customers the chance to purchase an NCAA cap and other goods. "I don't know if we had some Bruins who were wishful thinking," Amazon.com spokeswoman Patty Smith said, adding, "Clearly, it was a mistake." Florida won the championship game.
  5. Former Leaders Of The New School Member Dinco Disses Busta Rhymes By Nolan Strong Date: 4/4/2006 3:45 pm Former Leaders of the New School member Dinco has recorded a diss track directed at fellow ex-member Busta Rhymes in a new song titled "F**k Touch It." Dinco, who raps over the instrumental to Busta Rhymes' hit single "Touch It," said he recorded the single in response to comments Rhymes made on a DJ Clue mixtape. "I heard it on a Clue mixtape where [busta] called us a bunch of b***hes," Dinco told AllHipHop.com. "He said some real foul s**t, saying my crew's acting like a bunch of b***hes. And Brown's mother s***ted him out. And following conversations, he's just been mad disrespectful to me." Leaders of the New School was a pioneering group that released two critically acclaimed albums, Future Without A Past (1991) and T.I.M.E. (1993) via Elektra Records before calling it quits in 1994. Dinco D. was a member of the group along with Busta Rhymes, Charlie Brown and Cut Monitor Milo. The trio is also featured on A Tribe Called Quest's 1992 party anthem "The Scenario." After the group disbanded, Rhymes struck out on his own and appeared on several high profile singles, including the remix to Craig Mack's breakthrough Bad Boy single "Flava In Ya Ear." Rhymes inked a deal with Elektra in 1995 and a year later dropped the classic single "Whoo Haa," taken from his 1996nalbum The Coming. Leaders of the New School recorded a reunion song on Busta Rhymes' 1996 disc The Coming titled "Keep It Movin," which featured Rampage The Last Boy Scout, Dinco, Charlie Brown and Cut Monitor Milo. Since then, Dinco has continued producing and now resides in Atlanta. Another recent incident between Rhymes and Dinco led to Dinco penning the lyrics: "I zoomed in on and focused on the chain closer/The S from the leaders musta got pushed over/And landed on his chest/Soupened him up, Superman being too much/Now he's in a bunch/No longer the original man/More like Peter the Pan/Now go skip along, your interviews are so bland." Dinco was referring to a new diamond studded chain Busta Rhymes has been wearing that incorporates the Leaders of the New School's logo and the words "leader of the new school" in diamonds. "I was joking with the dude and I was like can I get a Leaders of the New School chain?'" Dinco said. "He was like 'yo those cost a lot of money, I don't know if you can afford it.' I was like 'You a funny dude.' He took that out of context, like 'what do you mean I'm a funny dude?' I was laughing with him. He wasn't trying to hear it.'" When asked if he was trying to exploit Rhymes' recent media attention, Dinco replied: "I don't know what they [fans] gonna take it as, but they [fans] gonna get it." Dinco's new album The Black Pirate King James-Tha Los' Leader Album is available in Apple's iTunes Music Store. The rapper is also currently working on an album due this spring. For more information visit: http://www.myspace.com/dinco Representatives for Busta Rhymes refused to comment on Dinco's song
  6. Tribe Called Quest or De La Soul haven't been honored yet, maybe they'll be honored the same time as JJFP, in 2015, lol
  7. Yeah Columbia thought that Will would never be relevant in the music industry again and told him to stick to movies in 2003 when they dropped him but then Will went platinum and wins an AMA basically outselling all of Columbia's roster, they probably wished they kept him now 'cause with Bow Wow being their only popular artist there they'll be going bankrupt soon :lolsign:
  8. Thanks for letting us know about this, I'm gonna check out for this interview
  9. Well if nobody respects an artist they have short careers so the fact that Will got respect is the reason why he's still in the game after 20 years and he'll still be around while a lot of these one hit wonders of today are gone, they'll be doing a "Where Are They Now?" special on Dem Franchise Boys and G Unit in a few years :kekeke: btw there's not any artist out there that don't get some people hating on them, some of y'all act like Will's the only one that gets some hate but I think that there's more people out there that feel him than hating on him 'cause he wouldn't be able to go platinum in his 20th year in the rap game if he only had haters, there's not many artists in the music industry that've stood the test of time like Will has, he's a music icon
  10. Well as long as people have respect for Will is all that matters, a lot of those high selling rappers only have sales but no respect, a lot of those popular albums get trash reviews, 50 Cent's last album only got 2.5 stars on amazon.com, lol, people wish they get their money back but Will delivers with a solid product, quality's better than quanity
  11. I watched that game last night I'm surprised Florida won so easily
  12. Yeah here's some positive feedback right here by the hip-hop heads at Allhiphop.com, a year later they're still showing love to the album: http://community.allhiphop.com/showthread....618708#poststop
  13. Why don't they honor NWA altogether, not just Eazy-E?
  14. Ice T To Host VH1 'Hip Hop Honors' By EbenGregory Date: 4/3/2006 10:20 am VH1 is set to pay homage to Hip-Hop's biggest legends and visionaries with its third annual 'VH1 Hip Hop Honors' show. 15. Well the amazon.com consumers give it a 4-star review so obviously that critic had no influence on them, fans know what time it is :wiggle:
  16. Here's the Results, I can't belive I won! :wiggle: First Round: Big Ted 6 Power's Domination 2 MaxFly7 Jona's Champs 2 Semi Finals Are This Week, Good Luck To All :1-smile: : Maize vs. Big Ted VipaGTS vs. MaxFly
  17. Hey y'all I finally got a job after looking for one for quite a few months, I'm gonna be working at the boardwalk in my town, once again I want to thank everyone for supporting :1-cool:
  18. Well I agree with everyone else here about how there shouldn't be a FPOBA movie, maybe even another reunion episode wouldn't work out, I think they should just leave the classic series the way it is, if it ain't broke don't try to fix it
  19. hot pics man, you really musta enjoyed yourself there, good to have you back here again!
  20. You know what I think it is with KRS, I think he sees that Nas-Jay-Z are getting a lot of attention for publicly squashing beef so now he wants to do the same here with Marley Marl to be relevant again, you know what though I wouldn't mind if squashing beef becomes a popular thing in hip-hop, beef is getting boring, btw there was far many more positive reviews for "Lost and Found" than there was criticism, Will got a lot of love for this album by the critics, stop focusing on the negativity man
  21. Former 106 & Park Host AJ Hosting College Hip-Hop Course By EbenGregory and Christine S. Kim Date: 4/3/2006 3:40 pm AJ Calloway, former host of BET's 106 & Park, has been tapped by Howard University to teach a course that explores the theoretical foundation of Hip-Hop. The Howard alumnus will teach the new on-line course in conjunction with history professor Elizabeth Lewis-Clark. The new graduate seminar in public history will provide a theoretical foundation for Hip-Hop and focus on a theme of urban/Hip-Hop cultural expression. The class will be taught online by Calloway and Lewis-Clark, but Calloway will periodically come to campus to speak to students. In the class, Calloway openly discusses his views about what's happening in the industry. "I really hope that one day Hip-Hop will evolve," Calloway said. "I mean, we are the only group of people that pimp our women through music the way that we do. I only hope that through that evolution Hip-Hop doesn't take the same path jazz took and become exploited to the point of disinterest, like everything else of ours white people get their hands on." In July 2005, Calloway and Free officially resigned their posts as the hosts of BET's popular show 106 & Park, jobs they held since the show's premier in the fall 2000. Although the circumstances surrounding their abrupt departure were not disclosed, insiders speculated there had been friction with upper management over a period of time. On his last live show, AJ revealed that his plans included opening up a restaurant in Brooklyn, running a management company and, in previous reports, he said he was working on a television pilot.
  22. Well of course some of "gangsta rap"is exagerrated just like some parts of movies are exaggerated so it could be a lil' bit more entertaining for the audience, which on the most part can't really relate to it 'cause they live in a much more confortable position, in fact they really think that it's probably all fantasy themselves, just a catchy beat to dance to, in the deposition on "Tupac Resurrection" he says that he never did gangsta rap, he said he just made music reflecting his thoughts and feelings, which is what I think it comes down to People always put so many labels on it but music is music, it gives people a chance to express themselves, every artist should have an opportunity to voice their thoughts whether we like listening to them or not no matter what type of music they do, as fans we have the choice to listen to who we want to, instead of complaining about what you don't like, buy CDs you do like and if you don't like listening to the radio don't listen, stop with the G Unit bashing, it gets annoying, I don't like them either but I just don't pay attention to them anymore, I think they've been overexposed and their 15 minutes is up anyway, people already know how I feel about them here so I don't have to go further on it, it's better for wack/hot/legendary/new artists to do music and make a living off of their talents instead of taking the music away from them which means a lot of them could end up in the same situations they was in earlier in their lives, and yeah people think I like to saythe n word too just 'cause I like hip-hop and that disturbs me, it does get tiredsome to drag the race card into the picture here but sadly that's what I think is going on here, no matter how many positive things a brother or sister could do there's always some things that they could get criticised for but that's just like any human, they shouldn't just point at a certain group of people and throw the blame on them for why society is violent, people in general need to be more conscious in their thoughts and actions for things to get better, dissing the rap community could only cause more anger, like KRS-ONE said in one of his songs: "negative rap/ positive rap/forget that crap/ that is a trap to set us back/ they just don't like black youth, our expressions, our gold tooth/people say they don't like gangsta rap but conscious rap they don't respect it/ somebody has to die before you hear a conscious record"
  23. Yeah if he was making no money from acting he'd be trying to battle some of the new rappers out now like KRS-ONE does, the time he'd use to be studying scripts he'd then use on sitting by the radio writing a diss verse to every new rapper he heard :lolsign:
  24. Yeah there's quite a few 'Big Willie' fun songs on that album too, he wasn't serious on every song to make you think that he's bitter
  25. I don't think Will is bitter but at the same time like most real hip-hop heads he just doesn't like the direction that corporate America has corrupted the image of hip-hop by not supporting the mcs that spread a positive message
