  1. Mary J. should be #1, that song blows everyone else away in my opinion, there's too much wack songs on the top of the charts like usual, damn Nelly's career never dies, he got a loyal TRL fanbase, lol... btw how's Busta's single "Touch It" doing? That's probably the best single on hip-hop radio right now, I can't wait for his album!!!
  2. It's hard to stay hungry when you're one of the richest men in the world already, Will honestly probably don't care that much about being the highest selling rapper now, but if he just put a lil' effort into it he could easily be it since he got a top 10 album in the hip-hop industry last year with just one hit single, a lot of those who kiss up to label execs ain't that respected anyway, they'll probably want him to sell out his image and do something just to sell albums, Will don't need that...
  3. It'd be easier for Will if he was a gangsta rapper, record execs would be kissing up to him like they do to Dr. Dre, he don't even have to do much but they seem to always show him the proper promotion whenever he drops something, it's harder for Will to sell a lot now and get the proper marketing 'cause he's an mc that doesn't curse, it's unheard of these days...
  4. Why'd Jimmy Iovine sign Will if he has no confidance in promoting Will's album? Doesn't sound like a good move to me, delaying "Party Starter" was not a smart move, if Jimmy Iovine release 5 singles at once from "Lost and Found" Will could easily sell as much if not more than what 50 Cent's sold, that's bad buisiness to sleep on promoting Will... Will needs to go to a record label where he's respect as an artist, he's sold 30 million albums in his career so it's not like he can't sell if was marketed the right way 'cause he's done it before time and time again...
  5. r u totally sure of this? well it doesn't hurt to try, i sent an email today, like i said after seeing that german hip-hop site post a feature about Da Ace dissin' Bow Wow I'm more confidant in this, bow wow's gonna have to apologise if he wants to save his career 'cause a lot of hip-hop fans are frustrated ...
  6. I'm more excited for the fact that he signed a multi-album deal, there was rumors that Nas' next album was gonna be his last one with Premiere producing all of it, hopefully one day before Nas hangs up the mic he does songs with LL, KRS, and JJFP... btw, I didn't know that "Lost and Found" actually outsold "Street's Disciple"...
  7. Great News To Hear That Nas'll Be On Def Jam, it's kinda funny it's like Columbia and Def Jam made a trade, Columbia got DMX and Def Jam got Nas, well maybe Nas could do a track with LL too now!! :yeah:
  8. Here's the email: ifuneed2no@hotmail.com Well I didn't believe it when I first was looking at the thread on willsmith.com from somebody who claims he knows about Bow Wow, like I said in one of the threads here yesterday he said that Bow Wow's gonna publicly apologise in a magazine article, the reason why I believe now is 'cause maybe Da Ace has been getting some hype for the song he was given, maybe Bow Wow's homies heard it, but anyways you should email and say that you were offended by what Bow Wow said and send him your track Da Ace!!! :pony:
  9. I hope the Super Bowl is good, those championship games were boring blowouts, at least the Eagles weren't only team blown out by the Seahawks this year...
  10. NEW YORK ¡X Almost 20 years after N.W.A pushed their first musical offerings independently, one of their founding fathers has decided to put major labels in the rearview and go back to his roots. "What is a record company going to "What is a record company going to do for me that I can't do for myself? Nothing." ¡X Ice Cube do for me that I can't do for myself? Nothing," Ice Cube said Wednesday night in a New York studio as he treated MTV to some selections off his upcoming LP, Laugh Now Cry Later. "It's nothing they can offer me to have a major percent of my record. It's really all about ownership at this time. This is not a new page in the game. This an old page. People are caught up in double, triple platinum. That's lovely, but what's double platinum if you not getting double-platinum money? It's all about what you take home to your family at the end of the day if you gonna make this game a profession." Not only does Cube feel he's going to benefit financially from going back to being an independent artist, he also says it has granted him artistic freedom. The pioneering MC has recorded more than 30 tracks so far even though he doesn't plan on putting out the album until June 6. "At some point an artist needs to put his money where his mouth is," he said. "Stop looking for the next advance. A record company's schedule sometimes don't coincide with what you need to do as an artist. By me not being on no schedules or deadlines, I made a better record because of that." A few years ago, Cube told MTV News that he would be signing to Dr. Dre's Aftermath label and putting out music with the Doc (see "Dr. Dre To Produce Next Ice Cube Record"). That album never surfaced (see "Ice Cube Puts Off Recording With Dre To Focus On Harassing Kids"). "All that was happening before 50 blew up," Cube explained. "That whole situation, you gotta follow the money in this game. Dre's attention went in [the direction of] the artist that's right now. You can't do nothing but say that was a good business move. I probably would have done the same thing. But for me, I can't wait for nobody, I been in the game too long to wait. It was time to do the record and put it out. I did a whole lot of records without Dre on them. I would love to have him participate, but for the most part, I don't need to wait on nobody right about now." Some high-profile producers have been making themselves available to Cube such as Lil Jon, Swizz Beatz and Scott Storch. Snoop Dogg appears on two records, Juvenile has one cameo and Cube is also in talks to have a guest spot from the Diplomats' Juelz Santana. Laugh Now Cry Later finds Cube returning to his role as social commentator on "Guns and Drugs." And with "Child Support," he once again reiterates that he helped start the gangsta-rap thing and that there have been many imitators over the years. "Ain't no other kings in this rap thing/ They siblings, nothing but my children/ One shot, they disappearing." "It's a metaphor," he said. "Only a few rappers dead or alive can do that record. I feel I put in enough time in the game. I was one of the architects of this style, gangsta rap. It was time to get it off my chest and say what I think." Cube said the album title is "really the state of everything, it seems like, from all of America to urban America to hip-hop. Everybody is doing a lot of laughing and playing and having fun, but someday you gotta pay. That's really what the album is saying." Cube says he will not be working on any more films until after his album is released.
  11. That's awesome news, I was reading somebody's post over on willsmith.com claiming that he knows Bow Wow and that Bow Wow's gonna apologise for the Will Smith comments in a magazine interview that's set to come out soon, I don't know if I should believe that but after seeing this, that might actually be true, good job man look like you made a lot of noise with this!! :yeah:
  12. I figure that the lyrics are different but it's definately kind of a hype ol' school hip-hop track like that one, I wonder when the video's coming out... btw, I was just browsing through mixtapes and notice that "Control Myself" is on JD's new mixtape, I'm not interested in getting it but it's good to know it's being promoted, it's one of the top selling mixtapes on that site: http://www.mixtapekings.com/hiphop/djs/dj_...pe_volume_1.asp
  13. You mean you think LL's biting Tone-Loc? It does have an ol' school vibe to it, it's starting to grow on me on the few times I heard it on the radio, I haven't listen to "Wild Thing" in a while, I might wanna give that a listen too, that was a dope song, Hot 97 should play that when they do throwback hour, that's a slept on hip-hop classic...
  14. Will's definately better as a rapper/emcee, it's something he's been doing since he was 12 years old, he's great at expressing his feelings through songs, easily one of the greatest who's ever touched the mic, his acting though is pretty strong too though at the same time, he's better than anybody in hip-hop when it comes to making quality movies, but his heart's in hip-hop rockin' the mic...

You my pet dog dawg you my pet
  17. http://www.allhiphop.com/hiphopnews/?ID=5276 Rapper Cam'ron has further clarified his position against Island Def Jam president/rapper Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, after the Harlem native recently released the dis track called "Gotta Love It." Cam'ron alleged that Jay-Z's declaration of peace with Nas in October 2005, was initially meant to destroy the credibility of his own Diplomats crew. Cam'ron told Miss Jones and the Hot 97 morning show team the culmination of his grievance in the weeks leading up to Jay-Z's "I Declare War" concert, which was hosted by rival station Power 105. "The last straw was that station down the dial he supposed to , where he is supposed to be dissing everybody he had a problem with," he explained to Miss Jones, DJ Envy and others. "So you know leading up to the concert, I got Dame calling me like, 'He's trying to get old footage of you of when you and Jim got jumped and he's trying to find Jim's Catholic school pictures.' So leading up to this concert, we had to get on point, you dig? I don't know whatever he was looking for, you ain't gonna find it." Jay-Z and Nas' peace treaty was applauded by the Hip-Hop community, however beef with Cam'ron and his crew has quietly festered for many years. Prior to the "I Declare War" concert, Jim Jones publicly dissed Jay-Z to Mad Linx when he was the host of BET's "Rap City." "When became the President, that was our way out . We not with it at all, ya dig, and if you wanna go statistically, not even on just the fire part, just statistically, we sold more records than everybody up at Roc-A-Fella every time we came out with an album," Jim Jones said on air. "Why would we be with somebody that sell no records statistically? The Roc is over. It's more like a cubic zirconium. The diamond is crumbled." Cam'ron also said problems arose when Jay-Z discovered plans to appoint him President of Roc-A-Fella, a position he turned down due to a disagreement over his proposed yearly compensation. Cam'ron also denied that he slept with Jay-Z's girlfriend Beyonce, although he insinuated an act took place in his freestyle dis. "This ain't noting personal toward her, but I know what hurts his heart," he said. Still Cam'ron admitted that this was a war of words, not one he hoped would end in violence. "At the end of the day, I don't want any violence. I'm trying to avoid it. It don't even make sense to do violence, we just trying to do music," Cam admitted. Jay-Z wasn't available for comment at press time.
  18. Ja beat 50 Cent but nobody noticed 'cause Ja was poorly promoted, millions of people just jumped to say Ja was wack 'cause they were on the 50 bandwagon but they probably didn't even listen to the mixtapes where Ja ripped that crap out of 50, only the hip-hop heads would, not the casual pop fan that was riding 50 at the time, they just like 50 'cause of catchy songs like "In Da Club", they don't think he's a strong battle mc, they probably don't even pay attention to battle mcs and they're too dumb to realise that 50's trying to do the same exact thing that he dissed Ja for doing, they were shaking in the club to Ja the year before but now 50 comes and they think everything Ja did was wack while they shake to 50 now... 50 should not be a purist to call out somebody for singing in the chorus, sure Ja might sound corny sometimes doing it too but he won't knock another rapper for doing it, 50's a hypocrite all the way around ... btw, "New York, New York" wasn't a diss song towards 50 Cent, so it didn't make sense that 50'd diss Jadakiss and Fat Joe when they weren't dissin' him in the firstplace, everybody that does a song with Ja Rule shouldn't be dissed, maybe LL should be on Ja's next album so we could see 50 diss LL and then LL could finish him off, lol... 50 had all the hype so he outsold everyone, he's just the flavor of the month, his 15 minutes are down the last seconds now...Anyway man I'm done ranting about 50 in this thread, you could like 50 all you want I could care less, I don't like 50, let's keep this convo about Cam/Jay...
  19. I was referring to "R.U.L.E.", it went gold so if you say Ja Rule's career's dead, that's like saying Will's career's dead, The Inc. left Def Jam and are now at Atlantic Records, he's supposed to drop something this year... "New York, New York" is harder than anything 50's done in the last 3 years...
  20. He didn't shut up Ja Rule, Ja Rule killed his own career by doing too many videos with Ashanti, people got boring of that, he happened to drop a weak album around the time that 50 came out with his 1st album which was actually pretty good to even 50 haters like me so people jumped off the Ja bandwagon onto 50's bandwagon, but on Ja's last album he went back to his original roots of hard rhymin' and he got some credability back, that's what 50's gonna have to do, if he keeps on singing hooks in videos and all of his songs, people'll get bored from him after awhile and he won't be able to recover...
  21. Puffy's flow is annoying though, why can't he just get off the mic and just produce and be a hype man? It's wack for somebody to sell millions of albums not having a lot of mc skills while real mcs can't get a deal, he should be working on releasing Heavy D's album... Write a book if you want to tell your life story.... Producers who can't rhyme is what's ruining the rap game right now, Kel's adding to the problem, if nobody ghostwrites for Puffy, he won't be able to make an album that sells and then he'd realise that he should just stick to dancing and making beats... Jazzy Jeff could probably outrhyme Puffy if he wanted to but he knows better to stick to what he does best...
  22. Beefing is what brought 50 on top, and beefing is also what is bringing him down right now.. It`s kinda ironic.. :word: 'cause he's losing all of them, it's better for him to shut up and save the humiliation., if he's a real mc he could make an album that people'll buy without dissin' the whole rap industry..
  23. What major label should Kel go on? Most any major label is just promoting flashy hip-hop, I guess it's better for him to keep it real and be unknown right? He's a great mc and I think he deserves a chance to blow up, I wouldn't mind if he did a "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" or "Switch" type song and sold millions rather than being underground forever... I'd rather see him go to Bad Boy instead of G Unit, it's like pick your poison when it comes to these labels, someone needs to start a label for real mcs to go to, Will has so much money, maybe when he takes a break from movies now he'll work on making Overbrook a bigger label than all these trash labels out now, our only hope is "The Chosen One"...
