  1. :kekeke: See if I said that in an interview people'd think I dissed Will but nah I was saying that he ain't even close to touchin' Will's mic...
  2. I guess Big Willie'll be getting a platinum plaque after all!! :yeah:
  3. Well now as long as him and Will got no beef it's all good, nobody who goes for hip-hop history goes by Bow Wow's interpretation of hip-hop so his opinion don't hold much weight, they're 2 different artists, Will caters to everyone, Bow Wow caters to lil' girls, I'm not a lil' girl so Bow Wow don't cater to me, I don't own any of his albums and I don't plan to either...But hey you could say that he definately is more advanced than Will acting at this young age 'cause Will didn't start acting yet even though Bow Wow's movies are basically worthless at this point anyway, once one of his albums flop though he won't be getting any cornball roles in films, they'll give that to another "hot" rapper.... But as far as rapping, there's no comparison, he thinks he's better than Will 'cause he's posin' as a wannabe gangsta in his songs but he's gonna be learnin' the hard way that people don't respect him for that, he don't know what being a real mc is... He's a lot worse than Will and he knows it but he won't say that publically 'cause that won't be good for his image, Will could care less if Bow Wow thinks he's better than Will, Will could cry all the way to the bank with $20 mill from acting and go home to his palace with all the platinum plaques on his wall and his beautiful fam waiting for him while Bow Wow's down to his last of his fifteen minutes, he better save up 'cause he's down to his last meal in entetainment... Hopefully this is one of the last times we talk about him on this board 'cause he's a worthless artist, he's online to being the next 50 Cent, he'll never be the next Will Smith or LL Cool J, his career'll be dead in a few years just like 50's, he won't be big in acting or rapping, he'll be forgotten...
  4. Nobody'll compare him to a younger LL Cool J, that's disrespectful, come on what kind of crap is that?!!! comparing 'Bounce Wit Me' To 'I Can't Live Without My Radio' is a complete joke, LL wrote 'I Can't Live With My Radio' but Bow Wow didn't write 'Bounce Wit Me' :hmm: :willvspaparazzi: Let's see when Will was Bow Wow's age he won the 1st rap Grammy, how many Grammies has Bow Wow been nominated for? He needs to go back to school and keep legends name out of his mouth...
  5. Bow Wow's right that his music is nothing like Will's, he makes music for lil' girls and Will makes music for all ages and genders, he better slow down comparing himself to LL though, he don't want beef with him, lol, but at least he said that he respects Will for what he's done and that's all that matters and that's all we wanted, we don't want him to trash a legendary mc, he probably saw all the negative comments about him so hopefully he grows up now, thanks for sharing with us, now we could let him live, lol...
  6. Nelly knows how to make catchy songs, can't be mad that he's making a lasting career out of it, as long as he don't call himself the "G.O.A.T." lyricist or anything like that...
  7. Will talks about getting respect by hip-hop heads, he don't complain about what he don't sell, there's a lot of people that hip-hop heads don't respect who sell a lot, Will don't worry about pop success, he worries about being named in hip-hop circles, you don't see Nelly being hip-hop person of the year, Will is, so he got what he wanted with this album, the most important thing is that he puts effort into making the albums, he don't need to put effort into promoting them, no matter if it sells a few thousand or a few million, those who listen to it will enjoy them and consider him one of the top mcs they ever heard and that's all that matters, Jazzy don't put effort into selling his mixtapes but whoever buys them considers him a legendary DJ, hip-hop changed now, back in the days the highest selling ones were the ones with the most skills but now it's an A&R driven industry, maybe if he caved into A&R demands and makes an all crunk album rapping about rims and grillz in all of his songs instead of food for thought songs, then maybe he'd sell millions we don't want that though and he don't wanna be a industry puppet, maybe if he battled another rapper they'd push his album more too but he don't do that beef crap, he wants to stay true to his art, when it's a day that quality art sells again we'll see Will on the top of the charts.... Even if promotion was a lil' better he probably wouldn't outsell 50 Cent these days 'cause it's an image that sells, he'd sell a lil' more if he had more singles no question but for me to say that he'd sell 5 million is a pipedream where the majority of the public only eats up this gangsta rap crap, I mean look at Common he released 3 singles just like Game did but Common didn't get caught in no gangsta rap beef like Game did so he sold 750,000 while Game sells 2 million, Common's more advanced with his lyrics than Game who's just starting but people buy into the gangsta rap image and don't want that positive rap, maybe if Will released a couple more singles in that time period he'd probably just sells a few hundred thousand more and that's it, he'd scanned platinum then instead of shipping it now but it really ain't that much of a difference at the end of the day, Will got the respect he wanted, kept his integrity and got a platinum plaque, sure it's sad that we didn't get "Tell Me Why" on the airwaves but you could say Will had success in his 20th year in the rap industry, I could care less what a lot think 'cause they're bandwagon fans but as long as Will does what his heart desires there'll always be people out there that respect him at the end of the day, maybe if we quit complaining and look at the big picture we'll see there's nothing to complain about, I hope that he does a video one day with Mary J. and puts it on a DVD just so I could see it as a fan...
  8. Mary J. should be #1, that song blows everyone else away in my opinion, there's too much wack songs on the top of the charts like usual, damn Nelly's career never dies, he got a loyal TRL fanbase, lol... btw how's Busta's single "Touch It" doing? That's probably the best single on hip-hop radio right now, I can't wait for his album!!!
  9. It's hard to stay hungry when you're one of the richest men in the world already, Will honestly probably don't care that much about being the highest selling rapper now, but if he just put a lil' effort into it he could easily be it since he got a top 10 album in the hip-hop industry last year with just one hit single, a lot of those who kiss up to label execs ain't that respected anyway, they'll probably want him to sell out his image and do something just to sell albums, Will don't need that...
  10. It'd be easier for Will if he was a gangsta rapper, record execs would be kissing up to him like they do to Dr. Dre, he don't even have to do much but they seem to always show him the proper promotion whenever he drops something, it's harder for Will to sell a lot now and get the proper marketing 'cause he's an mc that doesn't curse, it's unheard of these days...
  11. Why'd Jimmy Iovine sign Will if he has no confidance in promoting Will's album? Doesn't sound like a good move to me, delaying "Party Starter" was not a smart move, if Jimmy Iovine release 5 singles at once from "Lost and Found" Will could easily sell as much if not more than what 50 Cent's sold, that's bad buisiness to sleep on promoting Will... Will needs to go to a record label where he's respect as an artist, he's sold 30 million albums in his career so it's not like he can't sell if was marketed the right way 'cause he's done it before time and time again...
  12. r u totally sure of this? well it doesn't hurt to try, i sent an email today, like i said after seeing that german hip-hop site post a feature about Da Ace dissin' Bow Wow I'm more confidant in this, bow wow's gonna have to apologise if he wants to save his career 'cause a lot of hip-hop fans are frustrated ...
  13. I'm more excited for the fact that he signed a multi-album deal, there was rumors that Nas' next album was gonna be his last one with Premiere producing all of it, hopefully one day before Nas hangs up the mic he does songs with LL, KRS, and JJFP... btw, I didn't know that "Lost and Found" actually outsold "Street's Disciple"...
  14. Great News To Hear That Nas'll Be On Def Jam, it's kinda funny it's like Columbia and Def Jam made a trade, Columbia got DMX and Def Jam got Nas, well maybe Nas could do a track with LL too now!! :yeah:
  15. Here's the email: ifuneed2no@hotmail.com Well I didn't believe it when I first was looking at the thread on willsmith.com from somebody who claims he knows about Bow Wow, like I said in one of the threads here yesterday he said that Bow Wow's gonna publicly apologise in a magazine article, the reason why I believe now is 'cause maybe Da Ace has been getting some hype for the song he was given, maybe Bow Wow's homies heard it, but anyways you should email and say that you were offended by what Bow Wow said and send him your track Da Ace!!! :pony:
  16. I hope the Super Bowl is good, those championship games were boring blowouts, at least the Eagles weren't only team blown out by the Seahawks this year...
  17. NEW YORK ¡X Almost 20 years after N.W.A pushed their first musical offerings independently, one of their founding fathers has decided to put major labels in the rearview and go back to his roots. "What is a record company going to "What is a record company going to do for me that I can't do for myself? Nothing." ¡X Ice Cube do for me that I can't do for myself? Nothing," Ice Cube said Wednesday night in a New York studio as he treated MTV to some selections off his upcoming LP, Laugh Now Cry Later. "It's nothing they can offer me to have a major percent of my record. It's really all about ownership at this time. This is not a new page in the game. This an old page. People are caught up in double, triple platinum. That's lovely, but what's double platinum if you not getting double-platinum money? It's all about what you take home to your family at the end of the day if you gonna make this game a profession." Not only does Cube feel he's going to benefit financially from going back to being an independent artist, he also says it has granted him artistic freedom. The pioneering MC has recorded more than 30 tracks so far even though he doesn't plan on putting out the album until June 6. "At some point an artist needs to put his money where his mouth is," he said. "Stop looking for the next advance. A record company's schedule sometimes don't coincide with what you need to do as an artist. By me not being on no schedules or deadlines, I made a better record because of that." A few years ago, Cube told MTV News that he would be signing to Dr. Dre's Aftermath label and putting out music with the Doc (see "Dr. Dre To Produce Next Ice Cube Record"). That album never surfaced (see "Ice Cube Puts Off Recording With Dre To Focus On Harassing Kids"). "All that was happening before 50 blew up," Cube explained. "That whole situation, you gotta follow the money in this game. Dre's attention went in [the direction of] the artist that's right now. You can't do nothing but say that was a good business move. I probably would have done the same thing. But for me, I can't wait for nobody, I been in the game too long to wait. It was time to do the record and put it out. I did a whole lot of records without Dre on them. I would love to have him participate, but for the most part, I don't need to wait on nobody right about now." Some high-profile producers have been making themselves available to Cube such as Lil Jon, Swizz Beatz and Scott Storch. Snoop Dogg appears on two records, Juvenile has one cameo and Cube is also in talks to have a guest spot from the Diplomats' Juelz Santana. Laugh Now Cry Later finds Cube returning to his role as social commentator on "Guns and Drugs." And with "Child Support," he once again reiterates that he helped start the gangsta-rap thing and that there have been many imitators over the years. "Ain't no other kings in this rap thing/ They siblings, nothing but my children/ One shot, they disappearing." "It's a metaphor," he said. "Only a few rappers dead or alive can do that record. I feel I put in enough time in the game. I was one of the architects of this style, gangsta rap. It was time to get it off my chest and say what I think." Cube said the album title is "really the state of everything, it seems like, from all of America to urban America to hip-hop. Everybody is doing a lot of laughing and playing and having fun, but someday you gotta pay. That's really what the album is saying." Cube says he will not be working on any more films until after his album is released.
  18. That's awesome news, I was reading somebody's post over on willsmith.com claiming that he knows Bow Wow and that Bow Wow's gonna apologise for the Will Smith comments in a magazine interview that's set to come out soon, I don't know if I should believe that but after seeing this, that might actually be true, good job man look like you made a lot of noise with this!! :yeah:
  19. I figure that the lyrics are different but it's definately kind of a hype ol' school hip-hop track like that one, I wonder when the video's coming out... btw, I was just browsing through mixtapes and notice that "Control Myself" is on JD's new mixtape, I'm not interested in getting it but it's good to know it's being promoted, it's one of the top selling mixtapes on that site: http://www.mixtapekings.com/hiphop/djs/dj_...pe_volume_1.asp
  20. You mean you think LL's biting Tone-Loc? It does have an ol' school vibe to it, it's starting to grow on me on the few times I heard it on the radio, I haven't listen to "Wild Thing" in a while, I might wanna give that a listen too, that was a dope song, Hot 97 should play that when they do throwback hour, that's a slept on hip-hop classic...
  21. Will's definately better as a rapper/emcee, it's something he's been doing since he was 12 years old, he's great at expressing his feelings through songs, easily one of the greatest who's ever touched the mic, his acting though is pretty strong too though at the same time, he's better than anybody in hip-hop when it comes to making quality movies, but his heart's in hip-hop rockin' the mic...
