You my pet dog dawg you my pet
  2. http://www.allhiphop.com/hiphopnews/?ID=5276 Rapper Cam'ron has further clarified his position against Island Def Jam president/rapper Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, after the Harlem native recently released the dis track called "Gotta Love It." Cam'ron alleged that Jay-Z's declaration of peace with Nas in October 2005, was initially meant to destroy the credibility of his own Diplomats crew. Cam'ron told Miss Jones and the Hot 97 morning show team the culmination of his grievance in the weeks leading up to Jay-Z's "I Declare War" concert, which was hosted by rival station Power 105. "The last straw was that station down the dial he supposed to , where he is supposed to be dissing everybody he had a problem with," he explained to Miss Jones, DJ Envy and others. "So you know leading up to the concert, I got Dame calling me like, 'He's trying to get old footage of you of when you and Jim got jumped and he's trying to find Jim's Catholic school pictures.' So leading up to this concert, we had to get on point, you dig? I don't know whatever he was looking for, you ain't gonna find it." Jay-Z and Nas' peace treaty was applauded by the Hip-Hop community, however beef with Cam'ron and his crew has quietly festered for many years. Prior to the "I Declare War" concert, Jim Jones publicly dissed Jay-Z to Mad Linx when he was the host of BET's "Rap City." "When became the President, that was our way out . We not with it at all, ya dig, and if you wanna go statistically, not even on just the fire part, just statistically, we sold more records than everybody up at Roc-A-Fella every time we came out with an album," Jim Jones said on air. "Why would we be with somebody that sell no records statistically? The Roc is over. It's more like a cubic zirconium. The diamond is crumbled." Cam'ron also said problems arose when Jay-Z discovered plans to appoint him President of Roc-A-Fella, a position he turned down due to a disagreement over his proposed yearly compensation. Cam'ron also denied that he slept with Jay-Z's girlfriend Beyonce, although he insinuated an act took place in his freestyle dis. "This ain't noting personal toward her, but I know what hurts his heart," he said. Still Cam'ron admitted that this was a war of words, not one he hoped would end in violence. "At the end of the day, I don't want any violence. I'm trying to avoid it. It don't even make sense to do violence, we just trying to do music," Cam admitted. Jay-Z wasn't available for comment at press time.
  3. Ja beat 50 Cent but nobody noticed 'cause Ja was poorly promoted, millions of people just jumped to say Ja was wack 'cause they were on the 50 bandwagon but they probably didn't even listen to the mixtapes where Ja ripped that crap out of 50, only the hip-hop heads would, not the casual pop fan that was riding 50 at the time, they just like 50 'cause of catchy songs like "In Da Club", they don't think he's a strong battle mc, they probably don't even pay attention to battle mcs and they're too dumb to realise that 50's trying to do the same exact thing that he dissed Ja for doing, they were shaking in the club to Ja the year before but now 50 comes and they think everything Ja did was wack while they shake to 50 now... 50 should not be a purist to call out somebody for singing in the chorus, sure Ja might sound corny sometimes doing it too but he won't knock another rapper for doing it, 50's a hypocrite all the way around ... btw, "New York, New York" wasn't a diss song towards 50 Cent, so it didn't make sense that 50'd diss Jadakiss and Fat Joe when they weren't dissin' him in the firstplace, everybody that does a song with Ja Rule shouldn't be dissed, maybe LL should be on Ja's next album so we could see 50 diss LL and then LL could finish him off, lol... 50 had all the hype so he outsold everyone, he's just the flavor of the month, his 15 minutes are down the last seconds now...Anyway man I'm done ranting about 50 in this thread, you could like 50 all you want I could care less, I don't like 50, let's keep this convo about Cam/Jay...
  4. I was referring to "R.U.L.E.", it went gold so if you say Ja Rule's career's dead, that's like saying Will's career's dead, The Inc. left Def Jam and are now at Atlantic Records, he's supposed to drop something this year... "New York, New York" is harder than anything 50's done in the last 3 years...
  5. He didn't shut up Ja Rule, Ja Rule killed his own career by doing too many videos with Ashanti, people got boring of that, he happened to drop a weak album around the time that 50 came out with his 1st album which was actually pretty good to even 50 haters like me so people jumped off the Ja bandwagon onto 50's bandwagon, but on Ja's last album he went back to his original roots of hard rhymin' and he got some credability back, that's what 50's gonna have to do, if he keeps on singing hooks in videos and all of his songs, people'll get bored from him after awhile and he won't be able to recover...
  6. Puffy's flow is annoying though, why can't he just get off the mic and just produce and be a hype man? It's wack for somebody to sell millions of albums not having a lot of mc skills while real mcs can't get a deal, he should be working on releasing Heavy D's album... Write a book if you want to tell your life story.... Producers who can't rhyme is what's ruining the rap game right now, Kel's adding to the problem, if nobody ghostwrites for Puffy, he won't be able to make an album that sells and then he'd realise that he should just stick to dancing and making beats... Jazzy Jeff could probably outrhyme Puffy if he wanted to but he knows better to stick to what he does best...
  7. Beefing is what brought 50 on top, and beefing is also what is bringing him down right now.. It`s kinda ironic.. :word: 'cause he's losing all of them, it's better for him to shut up and save the humiliation., if he's a real mc he could make an album that people'll buy without dissin' the whole rap industry..
  8. What major label should Kel go on? Most any major label is just promoting flashy hip-hop, I guess it's better for him to keep it real and be unknown right? He's a great mc and I think he deserves a chance to blow up, I wouldn't mind if he did a "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" or "Switch" type song and sold millions rather than being underground forever... I'd rather see him go to Bad Boy instead of G Unit, it's like pick your poison when it comes to these labels, someone needs to start a label for real mcs to go to, Will has so much money, maybe when he takes a break from movies now he'll work on making Overbrook a bigger label than all these trash labels out now, our only hope is "The Chosen One"...
  9. 50's career'll end when he stops beefin' with rappers, most of the hype of his sales came from beef, there won't be nothing for the media to talk about with him if he don't diss anybody, it's also best for other rappers to ignore beefin' with him too so he'll fade away... I'd gain respect for 50 if he could have a career without dissin' anybody but that's unlikely...50's gonna be on the Freeway album so obviously Jay got no beef with 50, we could actually thank Jay for startin' 50's hype, he was the only rapper to publicly respond to "How To Rob", everyone else ignored it and nobody publicly knew who 50 Cent was until Jay said "I'm about a dollar, who the f--- is 50 Cent", before that 50 had a real small following...
  10. This sounds like Will's getting big names for this album, 1st ?uestlove, now Queen Latifah?!!! :yeah: :mygod:
  11. Yeah 50's sales went down from the 1st album 10 million to 6 million and you could see how low G Unit sales have been since Game left and the movie flopped, 50 made a big mistake beefin' with Game, Game's next album'll probably outsell 50's...
  12. Well at least more people would know Kel if he went there, it's better than being independent, I would never ghostwrite for Puffy either, if this is supposed to be a personal album he should write it himself...
  13. I'm about to post one of the rare things from willsmith.com that're actually good, this quote by Will basically describes it all, he don't have big name producers, get involved in immature beefs, or rap the same things everyone else does and that's why he ain't sellin' big numbers that Jay, Kanye, 50, and Game put up but he holds his ground being himself, this is definately something that Will doubters need to read 'cause they think that he's just a squeaky clean bubblegum rapper that hates anything gangsta but that's not the case, he's a real hip-hop head just like them: I Wish I Made That discusses his love for parental advisory stickered hip hop, "I always envied how y'all rocked with Dre and The Chronic/ The way that 2pac, Biggie, 50 and Jigga got it." However, the song is also steadfast in expressing Will's resolve to forever do Will. Along the way he contemplates why his own innovations in moving the game forward-masterful comic timing, expanding rap's subject matter and pioneering new flows-have been continually neglected by urban radio. Rhymes Will, "Black radio/ They won't play me, though/ Ever since 'Summertime' they ain't like none of mine/ Even though the fans went out and bought enough/ I guess they think that Will ain't hard enough." "Songs like Lean Back and Drop It Like It's Hot-I love those records," he confesses, "but those kinds of songs don't come out of me." Meanwhile, the potent title cut's constructive critiques of his beloved art form begins with Will Smith reciting Webster's definition of "original" over an arrangement of terse strings. He explains, "If you don't dress like everybody in all the other videos dresses, or your drums don't sound like everyone's, or your rhyme scheme isn't like everyone else's, you don't fit in according to the industry. So originality isn't necessarily nurtured. As far as defining it at the beginning of the record, I did that to say, let's clear up what originality means and figure out how that could be a bad thing." "I'm a hip hop head from the old school, so I appreciate all kinds of hip hop. I just need it to just say something. I feel like N.W.A's first album and Biggie's first album should be used in psychology classes-they're such accurate, powerful depictions of the lifestyle. Such brilliant well thought out, well-defined, well-rounded albums. For my taste, I need records like those. They just have some intellectual base to it. I like fun records. I make fun records. But there just has to be a point to it." "Why should I try to sound like y'all sound/ That's what's wrong with the rap game right now/ And it's like a circus with a bunch of clowns/ Wit a bunch of cliques I'd probably rhyme circles around," Big Will spits before giving props to some of his favorite musical peers, the ones whose music provides a remedy for the game's blahs. Amongst the roll call you can find Nas, Rakim and rap revolutionary Dead Prez.
  14. Hey Frenetic wasn't 50 and Game dissin' each other right around the time Game released the 2nd single? Remember the altercation that happened at Hot 97's building nearly a year ago now? Around that time Game was a lil' bit over platinum after the 1st month so you could say about 50% of his sales(how fitting) were sold after him and 50 were beefin' from 50 guest appearances on "How We Do" and "Hate It Or Love It", damn I'm dreamin' of the day where Will is allowed to release 2 singles in the 1st month, lol, Game left G-Unit shortly after but still released "Dreams" and "Put You In The Game" through Interscope/Aftermath... If 50 really wanted to shut down Game he coulda done it before "Dreams" came out which was getting airplay everywhere when it came out, it really help Game sell the last million plus, the 4th single might of not had much support but most 4th singles flop anyway... Now some might think that Will thinks all gangsta rap is wack but that's not true, he did say some things on his previous albums criticising gangsta rap, like when he said "nine trey everyone wanna be a gangsta/ buck buck buck buck but no more thanks to me" then later on he said "i had the strength to say gangsta rap was wack", he means that he doesn't like how 90% of hip-hop is perceived as gangsta rap, he wants more balance and also simply defending himself against critics who started callin' JJFP soft when they didn't do gangsta rap like Dre n Snoop did in '93 and then in the late 90s they called "Big Willie Style" soft when Eminem came in the game with his explicit raps, he don't have beef with them but it's just that the media pitted them against each other 'cause Will's fans have different tastes than Dre fans do, but hey Will had Dre do the score for Bad Boys II and had Snoop on "Pump Ya Brakes" so that should show people that he's cool with gangsta rap as an art but he feels it's been played out by the media 'cause there should be love for Will as much as Dre, they both made big impact on hip-hop in different ways... You should read the article that was posted on Will's site months ago, it said in it that "I Wish I Made That" was made as an expression of Will's love for explicit rap, he digs "Lean Back", "Drop It Like It's Hot" and "The Chronic" but he don't make those songs 'cause that ain't who he is, but he says with very much wit that if he did that he'd be ranked as high as the Jiggas and 50 Cents with constant airplay on black radio but he stays himself, he don't rap about shootouts 'cause he don't experience that... All sides of hip-hop ain't getting airplay like the golden era, you'd have Public Enemy, JJFP, and Run-Dmc do a show together or have MC Hammer, Digital Underground, and NWA on the same song with peace but that ain't the case today, that's what makes gangsta rap wack 'cause it's played out, there's more to hip-hop than just guns, drugs, and sex, there's nothing wrong with rapping about it though if that's the reality of the 'hood but there's positive sides to the 'hood as well that also deserve attention, there should be an audience for Lil' Brother and G Unit... Like I find it disturbing when a few years ago cats at my high school I used to battle rapped about gats and crack when they got nice cars that their parents bought them for graduation presents, I rap from my heart though, they ain't livin' the hard knock life with a spoon in their mouth, they ain't homeless, they ain't livin' in the gutter like 50 Cent or Eminem did when they were growing up but they still try rappin' that way, that's the darkness Will talks about...
  15. Will said that he's friends with 50 in an interview when he won his AMA: EDIT again, lol, I wanna post this though so nobody asks me later how I know this: "There's a lot of darkness in the world, and I'm committed with all the strength I got to bring the light. ... It's hard sometimes," Smith said of his positive hip-hop backstage. "When you're committing to something almost counter-culture, you can't find any support." Smith added that he recently befriended 50 Cent, who he beat out for the award, and doesn't consider 50's "brilliant" rapping to be darkness because it's honest. "The darkness I refer to are the guys who think they're doing what the top guys are doing. ... Somebody who's smacking girls on the ass and trying to get paid." He also said on "I Wish I Made That" that 50 Cent, Jigga, Pac, and Biggie got skills a lot like LL, Chuck D, Slick Rick, and Doug E., which is a prop, he did diss black radio so maybe that's why they still don't play him, lol, he dissed Wendy Williams so he won't be on WBLS, I guess that's why he don't get airplay still, he wasn't really dissing he was just being honest and speaking the truth but I guess speaking up about it gets you blackballed, it's sad to see what the industry has turned into, Chuck D disses the rap industry all the time so that's why he don't get play either, you gotta kiss ass.... You gotta realise that like he said in that quote Will's talking about those teenagers from the suburbs who talk gangsta instead of being educated, they're the ones who're "lost", Bow Wow fits this description, he probably heard "Pump Ya Brakes" and thought Will was talking about him... Will didn't diss Eminem on "Mr. Nice Guy" either, he just said that he felt hurt that Eminem dissed him 'cause he and Em were cool before that, Will was just referring to fake gangstas when he said what he said on MTV, Em took it personal though and said f you but he did it in a joking matter so Will didn't have to respond right away but he had to eventually just 'cause of the comment being somewhat disrespectful... Since Will's a husband and a father he was protecting his rep by saying something so I guess he did have to get it off his chest so that means Em was worth answering, and that he makes 20 million a film so he didn't lose sleep over it, but who knows though, maybe Eminem told Jimmy Iovine to delay "Party Starter" for 4 months, they don't call him "Slim Shady" for nothin', Will'll probably get dropped from Interscope but he could always bounce back though, he's not gonna stop doing what he loves even if he don't get the media props, he'll always get respect by those who appreciate real hip-hop... btw, I think Game did the same thing that MC Hammer did back in the days, he put a lot of his homies on the payroll but I heard a lot of them are starting to diss him now too, so I guess that's why he's upset that his album didn't sell more 'cause he probably needs that budget now... Will doesn't say things to hurt people, he just tries to get people to step up their game when he criticises them in an intelligent matter, that's why he could crush many mcs 'cause not many have his intelligence, if Will battled Eminem for real and beat him many people'd take Em's side and continue to buy him more than Will just 'cause he got power on his label, sad but true, that's why Will don't play those games, it's not worth it, beef is wack 'cause the most intelligent mcs don't get the attention they deserve, the ones with the big budget label do, 50's only standing 'cause he got G Unit Records not 'cause he got the most skills of any mc, I'm sure even 50's fans wouldn't call him the G.O.A.T., he got some skills but not that much...
  16. well funkmaster flex said that last night that jay's working on a response to cam'ron and cam has 2 tracks besides that one ready to come out... i haven't been following that beef that closely but game was able to release 4 tracks off of the documentary and sold 2.5 million copies, maybe he mighta got messed up with his publishing or something behind the scenes by 50 though if he's complaining, 50's always running his mouth bout anybody so it's hard to call him a nice guy... game might thought his album was a dissapointment but that's more than what will got for lost and found, i'm wondering who's stopping his promotion, did will diss somebody or something? lol...
  17. well i think 50 got no flow, that's why he's wack in my eyes, he can't hold a mic to ice cube in my opinion, don't trip but that's how i feel... i think it's wack that they play 50 cent all day and they don't play will!! i don't mind if they play 50 a lil' bit but they should give pioneers like will and public enemy spins when they drop singles...
  18. i definately think work ethic is important for anybody, not just an mc, anybody that works hard gets some respect from me, it's always important to work on achieving goals... yeah for me to even think that will would do that is foolish of me but jay is different than will, jay has too much of an ego in my opinion, it's rumored that he's working on a diss song for cam'ron and he ain't letting them play cam's song but he'll want them to play his, that's hypocritical, and then he wonders why people diss him?!! lol... don't get mad at me jay-z fans but that's how i feel and that's why i can't put him in the same category as will...
  19. Bow Wow ain't really that relevant in the hip-hop community anyway but if Will called and had them cut off Bow Wow's records I'd lose a lil' respect for Will myself, I wouldn't favor him doing something like that, that's not setting an example and that's what got me heated after hearing what Jay's doing...Will shouldn't run hip-hop, Jay shouldn't run hip-hop, nobody should no matter what he sells, hip-hop is about the fans' choice, the people should choose whoever they like, if it affects Bow Wow's next album sales 'cause of that then that's cool, they're entitled to their opinions, I don't think it affects Will whatsoever though so he ain't losing sleep over it, but if Bow Wow said something about Jada then I think Will'd have to say something back even in an interview 'cause that's more personal than just saying Will's a bubblegum rapper... Jay shouldn't worry about what Cam sells, especially since he's sold so many already, if Cam puts out something people like then they should buy it or if he puts out something out they don't like then they won't buy...
  20. If you wanna talk about respect, I find it upsetting that the hip-hop community doesn't address the stupid comments that Bow Wow made about a pioneer like Will, sure it was just an interview but they were disrespectful, there should be a petition to get his stuff off the air definately, lol, if he said that about Jay though everyone would rally around Jay 'cause he's the president of Def Jam but they don't for Will 'cause he don't have that much power in hip-hop like that but he's still a pioneer, why can't they respect him too?...
  21. Well like I said earlier, I don't like any of this beef stuff, it's immature all the way around these days but it could be entertaining though if 2 mcs push each other to step their lyrical skills up, that's good for hip-hop... Cam definately got some skills and if he doesn't why'd Jay waste energy to even get radio stations to not play the song? If Cam was garbage Jay wouldn't worry about him and just let the song play out until there's no response, he'd just brush him off like Will brushes off Bow Wow 'cause he's above the beef but to do something like that, this makes him look lower than Cam even making the song in the first place, if you don't want beef, ignore what he does and move on but it's a lil' harder to do in my opinion since Cam said something about Beyonce in the song, Jay needs to make a comeback song, keep the beef on wax and rip him like a real mc would not do that blackball crap...
  22. Well I could use another example, 50 Cent didn't call up the radio station to stop playing Game's songs even though Game dissed him, even that wack mc 50 got more integrity than that... The radio should be allowed to play any song that comes out, their shouldn't be any artist dictating what to play or not to play... If Jay got so much power why can't he call in and tell them to stop playing 50 Cent who only raps about negativity if he wants to set an example for hip-hop?...
  23. Talking about killing, hoes, drugs, gay bashing?!!! Jay does the same thing dawg, wasn't one of his singles called "Money, Cash, Hoes"?!!! Didn't Jay talk about having sex with Nas' baby's mama when he was battlin' him?!!! Just 'cause Jay could flow a lil' better than Cam doesn't mean he ain't saying anything negative... Cam don't rap bout that in all of his songs just like Jay doesn't either... Blackballing somebody is not setting an example either, but standing up for your fam is though, he should respond to Cam in a mature way with his lyrical skills... Like in the first post I made, I don't like all this beef mess either, Cam shouldn't have made that song especially since Jay's trying to keep the peace, but hey now if Jay dogged him at Roc-a-fella, that's messing with Cam's life so it might be harder for Cam to let go, he makes a living off of music so he has a right to diss somebody who just does things to just boost up his rep, you have to look at it that way too...
  24. Jay's a snake if he just calls radio stations not to play Cam'ron, Will didn't call radio stations to not play Bow Wow when he dissed him, that's immature... Payola is ruining the rap industry, I'm surprised Chuck would give props to such a sucker as this especially since Chuck's so passionately against that, he'll probably lose some respect for Jay too, it don't matter how great of a lyricist you think Jay is, that's just wrong, one rapper should not rule the industry like that, he probably lets the radio play wack rappers like 50 Cent so much so that Jay looks far superior to them, he don't fight for Will or Public Enemy to get airplay 'cause he knows they're superior to him and doesn't want a lot of people that listen to radio to think that, that's why he also pushes a real mc like DMX back and lets wack Young Jeezy drop as well, he only worries about his image, but if he screws up releasing LL's album I wouldn't ever consider listening to Jay again, lol... You could tell that he does do favors with radio 'cause every time I turn on Hot 97 or Power 105 I hear a Jay-Z single from 2-3 years ago get in regular rotation but I don't hear LL's single from 2-3 years ago get airplay, after a few months of LL's singles they don't get played anymore but it seems like everything Jay drops gets play forever... Jay'll be known as a sellout coward and lose some of his rep if he don't respond, especially since Cam disrespected Jay's girlfriend, it's more than just callin' Jay a wack rapper or just making a couple friendly jokes, that's like when Canibus disrespected LL's wife/kids and if LL didn't respond he'd lose some respect....
  25. Well about Juelz, he said in an interview that Jay wasn't involved with making Juelz' new album and that he was allowed to do what he wanted with it, he says that mostly the younger artists that came on the label need Jay's direction not him, he said something about he how respects Jay as an artist but he don't need anybody to hold his hand... I was listening to the radio late last night and Funkmaster Flex was talking about the beef and said that Cam has 2 more songs about Jay ready and Jay's working on a response... I wouldn't be surprised if DMX goes after Jay either when he drops his album, he said in an interview last week when he signed to Columbia that he felt miserable working for Jay, he said that he had the album ready to drop for months but Jay kept pushing it back, he said he's gonna just use a couple songs from it and add more material and drop it this summer, I wouldn't be surprised if he has a Jay diss song in the works 'cause if he did that to me I probably would diss him too 'cause this is a buisiness and putting DMX's album on hold could cost DMX money, this isn't good for Jay's image as a president as well, artists won't go to Def Jam if they hear how shady he is, Redman's album keeps gettin' pushed back too, I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves after a while too... That sounds just as shady as Puffy shelving Heavy D's album... btw, that Jay going to Aftermath rumor happened before Jay was named Def Jam president, I haven't heard anything about that since but since he's gonna have 50 Cent on Freeway's album, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets down with Dre's camp though... EDIT: I heard on Hot 97 just now that they were given orders by Jay-Z not to play Cam's song, that's messed up, he thinks he could buy himself a win!!
