  1. :word: Well the most important thing JJFP need to do is tour for the first time in over 15 years!!!!! :pony: Now as far as people dissin' Will for having ghostwriting, what about Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Snoop, Lil' Kim, etc are all more famous than Will but they use ghostwriters too?
  2. Radio and TV won't play Will's videos automatically 'cause it's "Will Smith", the only way people'd take notice in playing him is if he goes to all the radio and TV shows constantly performing it and talking about the album, that's why Kanye West and 50 Cent have sold so much, they're always talking to the media, Will doesn't do that....
  3. Yeah Will was the top battle rapper in Philly back in the '80s, among those he beat was Smooth B, I wonder if they got any of that footage recorded? I've been saying all along that battle footage needs to be released on DVD 'cause a lot of these kids who think that Eminem is the greatest battle rapper need to be taught a lesson.... :kekeke:
  4. Sure when it comes to a show dissin' Will, they'll show it a million times so everyone could see it but when they give him props they'll show it rarely or one time, I bet they'll never show the top 30 hip-hop videos with Will in it, they'll probably make a new list and put 50 Cent's video in it instead, lol, VH1 sucks! :willvspaparazzi:
  5. How the hell could they diss "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" after they put it in the top 30 all-time hip-hop videos list a couple years ago? Here's the list to the all time hip-hop videos: 30. Will Smith “Getting Jiggy With It” 29. Jay Z “Hard Knock Life” 28. Sir Mix-A-Lot “Baby Got Back” 27. Missy Elliott “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)” 26. Ice Cube “It Was A Good Day” 25. P. Diddy feat. Mase “Mo Money Mo Problems” 24. MC Hammer “Can’t Touch This” 23. 23. Outkast “Ms. Jackson” 22. Run DMC “It’s Tricky” 21. De La Soul “Me, Myself & I” 20. Nelly “Country Grammar” 19. LL Cool J “Mama Said Knock You Out” 18. Lauryn Hill “Everything Is Everything” 17. Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five “The Message” 16. Eminem “Stan” 15. DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince “Parents Just Don’t Understand” 14. Snoop Dogg “Gin & Juice” 13. Notorious B.I.G. “Hypnotize” 12. Naughty By Nature “O.P.P.” 11. Coolio “Gansta’s Paradise” 10. Eminem “The Real Slim Shady” 9. P. Diddy “I’ll Be Missing You” 8. 2 Pac feat. Dr. Dre “California Love” 7. Sugar Hill Gang “Rappers Delight” 6. Salt N Pepa feat. EnVogue “Whatta Man” 5. Beastie Boys “Fight For Your Right To Party” 4. LL Cool J “Going Back To Cali” 3. Public Enemy “Fight The Power” 2. Dr. Dre “Nuthin But A G Thang” 1. Run DMC “Walk This Way” VH1 really contradicts themselves, that's what happens when a pop channel tries to talk about hip-hop, they gave props to "Switch" this year but next year they'll diss it probably! :hmm:
  6. That's dope stuff there but for the millionth time people need to be reminded that FP still WRITES his rhymes!!!!!!!!!!! :bat: "Big Will that's my name, WRITING RHYMES, that's my game, ask me again and I'll tell you the same!!!!!!" :willvspaparazzi:
  7. Well black radio disses Will for being clean so I guess Luda must be feeling the same way as Will now that the mainstream media has been dissing him for being explicit, the media sucks....
  8. Well this should sorta be like "Miami" was for "Big Willie Style", released as the last single of the album, if "Lost and Found" did better we'd be able to say that Will'd be able to release 2 or 3 more singles but most likely we're just hopin' that "Tell Me Why" comes out and if a miracle happens and the album starts sellin' crazy when it goes to #1 then maybe we might get "Lost and Found" and "If You Can't Dance"(Slide)/"Pump Ya Brakes", the album probably'd be approaching platinum right now if Will didn't go shoot that film, those performances would've really helped, in the 4 months doing "Pursuit..." the album faded from everyone's memories, if Will spent 6-8 months promoting the album like he said he was gonna, he would've gotten some Grammy nominations, it ain't all Interscope's fault, he deserves some blame too, just like when he shot "Bad Boys II" in the same month 'Born To Reign' was released, he might still be on Columbia right now if he just did a few shows then, "Black Suits..." actually got on TRL too so the album would've gone gold not shipped gold at the very least if he had released "How Da Beat Goes" that summer. It ain't like the record label tells him to go shoot the films, he just goes off to do them, he needs to properly space out time where he just does strictly music for a certain frame and does movies for a certain frame or else his music career'll continue to suffer since he declines to go on tour, his movies haven't suffered 'cause he doesn't reject enough scripts, maybe if black radio wasn't so resistant maybe he wouldn't have to tour but he does have to tour more than most mcs have to in fact.... Frenetic made a good point, Will's not that much known in music anymore after going away for a few years, you have to be constantly doing music to get recognition I guess 'cause radio/TV jocks and fans have short term memories .... :paperbag:
  9. Well most people think that Will just raps about money and sex since "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" is his most famous song right? Even Nick Cannon was holding a pimp cup and had half naked chicks in one of his videos right? :wiggle: Not all Luda's songs are like his singles, some have subject matter in them too.... I definately think Luda's a better mc than Eminem too, even though I don't like either but if they were both the last 2 rappers on earth, I'd choose Luda, at least he don't rap about killing his mother..... Oprah don't really have any street cred either, probably mostly older white people watch her show so why even put rappers on there anyway? They don't appeal to that audience....
  10. MC Hammer was the 1st rap artist to have an album sell 10 million copies with his "Hammer Please Don't Hurt 'Em " but the media ignores to mention that among the all time great rap albums, sure he dressed funny but so did a lot of ol' school rappers, he was just the most famous, styles changed from then to now, lol, 20 years from now kids'll think we dressed funny, lol... Will's "Big Willie Style" album also sold 10 million, but it seems like the media only mention Pac's, Biggie's and Eminem's albums that sold 10 million among the all time top albums, MC Hammer and FP have appealed to an audience as large as Pac, Biggie, and Eminem but the media won't credit them for that since they ain't gangsta, Pac and Biggie wouldn't sell so much if they were alive, many jumped on the bandwagon when they died, and Eminem wouldn't sell that much if he were black, just like Vanilla Ice, white kids'd still like Vanilla Ice today if he were a gangsta instead of just dancing in videos, MC Hammer and FP deserve more credit but they won't get it 'cause it's positive rap that they're doing, you could say they're the closest to gospel rap that mainstream'll ever have.... I was watching "Rap City" a couple months ago when they had a show for hip-hop in 1997/1998 and they had a list of the top 20 albums from that time period but yet they didn't "Big Willie Style" which outsold all of them!!!! :paperbag: It's like even if "Lost and Found" sold 5 million copies this year, the media wouldn't mention it 5 years from now but they'll probably call 50's album classic, lol.... When it comes to great hip-hop albums I rarely see any of LL's albums mentioned either, I mean come on he's going on his 12th album, to be out that long you had to make something to change the game! In reality half of LL's albums are probably on the same level as "The Chronic", how could they rank somebody doing one album every 10 years that ain't writing lyrics ahead of somebody who does albums every other year who writes all of his lyrics?... Chris Rock actually ranked "Mama Said Knock You Out" higher than basically every media outlet has, they just talk about the song but never the album usually, and that's a shame 'cause like Chris Rock said, mcs basically studied the formula to make a comeback album off that one, I mean even "Lost and Found" emulates some elements to be fair enough as well, "Blueprint", "Stillmatic", etc. are other comeback albums that have "Mama..." elements, it showed mcs to make balanced albums: street tracks, love songs, storytellin' songs, etc.. LL's influenced basically every mc in the last 20 years....
  11. Wow I got an award I don't know what to say?!!! Maybe I should post some KRS lyrics..... :pony: :lolsign:
  12. Well they diss LL in different ways than they diss Will, when they do a lot of all-time lists they always put the gangsta rappers ahead of LL, I look at that as a small diss but at least they mention him, the point I'm leaning towards is that they'll never consider a positive rapper a top mc of all time like they would gangsta rappers, it's harder for an mc with a positive message to make the game then it is for a gangsta rapper since there's more gangsta rappers, they talk about gangsta rappers more than any positive mc, they make it look like Dr. Dre is the pioneer of rap.... Then again if VH1 thinks Will's so wack they wouldn't even mention him in the top 50 hip-hop artists of all time, they mention MC Hammer too but they rank gangsta rappers ahead of him too.....
  13. I think a lot of his rap peers respect him, it's more of the media who've dissed him, I think if they come around, more rap fans'd be willing to open up to Will, the media works the public like sheep, whoever they say is a dope artist, people go along with that....
  14. There's some gospel rappers out there like him with the same talent if not more talent like the gangsta rappers but they ain't that promoted, especially since the media disses positive rappers like JJFP, MC Hammer, and LL Cool J so much, there probably won't ever be a famous gospel rapper, well the media don't even want people to say Merry Christmas anymore but I won't get too much into that, lol.... It's nice to see that he mentioned Will there in his song, they put "Will2K" in I think as one of the least hip-hop songs and had Vanilla Ice of all people on there dissin' it, what a hypocrite, he wants people to respect him for not being a pop rapper anymore but then he puts Will down, lol?!!! Ain't he the one who made "Ice Ice Baby", lol?!!! I mean "Will2K" ain't one of Will's best songs, but it's not like Eminem's "Real Slim Shady" is a masterpiece either but that don't stop the media from praising "Marshall Mathers LP" so damn much so why can't they praise "Willenium" despite one weak track among many classic tracks? This mc KJ-52 is actually more hip-hop than a lot of mcs out there 'cause a lot of hip-hop heads think Eminem is crazy and needs to straighten his life.... A lot of the gangsta rappers put out weak tracks too but the media won't diss them for that though, if the media was fair they'd rank "Code Red" up there with "The Chronic" and they'd put some of 50 Cent's recent songs on the least hip-hop list, screw the media and all they people who follow along with them like sheep.... People get turned away from gospel rap 'cause they think it's only music about Jesus but really it's mostly just positive hip-hop with a message to it, I might check out for him too now.....
  15. Maybe sometime next year you might be hearing some audio from me, once I get a job I'm gonna start focusing on recording some stuff....
  16. Jazzy's financial advisor's probably begging him to give up DJ'ing and go for a co-star role in Will's films :lolsign:
  17. I wrote this song for Christmas a few years ago, I figure I'd share it with y'all, enjoy!: Verse One: Yo Christmas comes once a year So you spread the holiday cheer When you spend time with family and peers And there's a lot of aniticipation when it's near That means it's obvious to tell when it's here 'Cause you can see all the decorations That'll put a smile on everybody's faces And you can see the Christmas vibration In all nations With all races and all ages And whether you're Indian, Afican, Jamican, or Haitian It's still Christmas no matter what language you speak That vibe is felt by people like me This moment ain't really about me And this moment ain't really about beating mcs 'Cause for this moment, I'm at eaze Feelin' the chill in the breeze Checkin' out the winter scene Sippin' on an icee Gettin' a brain freeze Taking a glance at the Christmas trees Keepin' it true with my peeps, repeatedly So... Chorus: Let me spit a Christmas rhyme That's legit and on time With the Christmas time So y'all could feel the Christmas vibe And un-stress your mind 'Cause we don't need any mess at Christmas time Just relax with my Christmas rhyme And feel the Christmas vibe Verse Two: No matter what age You're always a child at heart No matter what way You could see Christmas is always on par And no matter what place You're at, you know that the Christmas love ain't that far 'Cause it's Christmas And that's the way it is There's no day like this And there's no way you could fight this When the jolly ol' Santa says “Ho, Ho, Ho” You already know That it's Christmas yo I wanna kiss a fly honey under the mistletoe So things could be poppin' for sho' 'Cause things like this are a part of the Christmas flow Even a hardcore thug Can feel the love There's not a way you can explain How this day can be off the chains Maybe it's the candy canes You don't feel no pain But you get some gain 'Cause the Christmas love ain't ever lame Y'all know what I'm trying to say In this hot lyrical display [Repeat Chorus]
  18. Oprah sounds like an old, conservative, Uncle Tom now, she's selling out and can't relate to the hip-hop youth, true Luda doesn't represent it the best but he's still hip-hop and nobody that represents hip-hop should be ridiculed like that, btw he must have talent if Will asked him to write him the hook and produce "Party Starter" for him, which is one of the best tracks on "Lost and Found", lol, stop being such a hater to the new school mcs AJ, if you don't like anything out now that's your opinion but to say they got no talent is disrespectful, why don't you get a record deal and beat them in a battle if you feel that way? They all worked hard to get where they had to just like FP, LL, Run-Dmc, and any of the ol' school mcs that you love, I bet you'd love his flow though if he were a squeaky clean rapper, lol, you just don't like the content that's all, hey that's your opinion again just don't say he don't have no talent, everyone with record deal has talent, some more than others, but a lot more than any amateurs like us who ain't signed like I said in that thread about Freeway collabing with LL, btw didn't LL do a song with Luda too? The only ones who wouldn't have talent in the music industry would be the ones who get record deals if it's a celebrity making an album when they have no practice for music.... Luda worked hard though to make it in the game, he made mixtapes and sold them out of his truck, he'd start his own radio station in Atlanta, he put in work, we could all hate on 50 but he also worked hard to make it in the game he was making mixtapes for years as well, it's just the content about him we don't like either, mcs just need direction that's all, if FP could befriend them, they could turn around their content most definately..... Quite a bit of mcs in the rap game respect Luda's talents, young or old mcs, I think FP alone respecting it is enough, a lot of people in hip-hop defended him when Bill O'Reilly criticised him including the KRS-ONE's and Russell Simmons' of the game and I'm sure they'll do the same again if it becomes a big issue, if Oprah ain't got nothin' nice to say "Don't Say Nothin", she's looking out of touch by doing that, if she sat down and talked to him instead of yelling at him like a baby she'd be able to understand why he raps the way he does, she's supposed to be an example of a strong black woman but she's lookin' weak but doin' the same thing conservative white men would do, well I guess they're the ones payin' her, lol. Even if she's throwing a whole bunch money to charity it won't show any merit if she don't show care to people, that's the most important thing, Ludacris is human like anyone else, I might not like some of his songs but I'm not gonna go in his face and ridicule him.... It's just like when Richard Pryor made dirty jokes, those jokes were his reality, he just tells it the way it is and that's what a lot of explicit rappers do, sure Luda ain't as talented as Ice Cube but he's good enough to be able to have an audience relate to what he's talking about.... In my opinion there should be room in this world for both Will Smith's clean jokes and Ludacris' explicit jokes, just like there was room for both Richard Pryor's explicit cometdy and Bill Cosby's clean comedy.... You want people to not call Will bubblegum and respect him but how could you expect that if you call Ludacris trashy and don't respect him? They don't have to listen to Will and you don't have to listen to Luda but dissin' them blindly won't solve anything.... Whether you like it or not, Luda could outperform a lot of mcs too, he's probably the most energetic performer since Busta, if you thought he was so wack, why didn't you try jumpin' on stage and outperforming him then? You were probably the only one there that wasn't cheering....
  19. Yo AJ I could usually agree with you on most things in music but I find kinda ironic that you call Ludacris garbage and Nick Cannon one of the best mcs, I mean come on mostly anybody who listens to hip-hop'd tell you that Ludacris sounds like Rakim compared to Nick Cannon, Nick don't got much flow, he got signed to a record deal 'cause of his TV show most likely, Luda used to do mixtapes and sell albums out of his truck like your boy MC Hammer used to do.... I don't even like Luda like that of course, let's be real if Nick rapped as explicit like Luda you'd call him the wackest too, not all clean rappers got flow like FP  Nick Cannon should stick to movies 'cause I think that he has clearly more talent there then on the microphone, he's gaining some fans in Hollywood and if he works on it hard like he's been he could get really good at it, it ain't like it was with FP 'cause he hasn't really won over the hip-hop fans yet the way FP did when he came out 20 years ago, I think Kel Spencer is the talented clean rapper that might be able to get some credability in the hip-hop circle 'cause he's much more skilled at mc'ing.... This verse on "#1 Spot" has more affective punchlines than Nick's whole 1st album put together, I haven't heard all of Luda's albums but I bet his worst album is better than that album by Nick: "I'm never goin nowhere so don't try me My music sticks in fans veins like an IV Flows poison like Ivy, oh they grimy Already offers on my 6th album from labels tryin to sign me Respected highly, HIIII MR. O'REILLY Hope all is well, kiss the plantiff and the wifey Drove through the window, the industry super sized me Now the girls see me and a river's what they cry me I'm on the rise, so many people despise me Got party ammunition for those tryin to surprise me (surprise!) It's a celebration and everyone should invite me Roll with the crew or meet the bottom of our Nikes (blaow!) Explorer like Dora these swipers can't swipe me My whole aura's so MEAN in my white tee Nobody light-skinded reppin harder since Ice-T You disagree, take the Tyson approach and bite me"
  20. The realest 4 bars for Will'd have to be what he said on "Just The Two Of Us", such a universal message that defines the positive messages of his career: "Throughout life people'll make you mad Disrespect you and treat you bad Let God deal with the things they do 'Cause hate in your heart'll consume you too"
  21. My thoughts go out to you and your family Julie, stay strong
  22. Hip-hop is more like hip-pop these days though, 50 Cent outsold everyone this year in music.... Check out this article here talking about how hip-hop is the most popular music genre, it's an old article that's still relevant today, merry christmas, lol: http://www.csupomona.edu/~rrreese/HIPHOP.HTML Everytime you turn on MTV you're more likely to see a rap video than an other video, whether you're in the streets or the suburbs, you see hip-hop.... I think Outkast outsold Britney Spears on their last album too.... A lot of people in mainstream society do know hip-pop artists like 50 Cent, Kanye West, Outkast, LL Cool J, and Jay-Z, they grace the covers of Rolling Stones as much as any pop artists do now, they wouldn't know who KRS-ONE is of course, only underground hip-hop heads who really know hip-hop would, not the casual fan, they wouldn't know certain people like him or Nas, they never really appealed to large audiences... A lot of people in society do know JJFP, but they like gangsta rap more these days, especially the kids but even some adults like it too, they buy it for their kids in the first place, lol, some of them felt alienated when Will dissed gangsta rap too 'cause a lot of people love people like Eminem and Dr. Dre much more than JJFP, if Jay-Z dissed gangsta rap like Will did, he'd lose all of his fanbase, Will took a risk that not many hip-poppers would... Conservatives only see the hip-pop side so that's why they diss hip-hop in general, they think all rappers are thugs, but that's not true, they're ignorant of mcs with heart like Nas and KRS, that's partly their fault though 'cause they don't try to get more recognition but that's why there's no balance, the overpromotion of thug rappers force real mcs to not get the fame.... Like I said earlier, Will has to release more universal tracks in order to get the respect in mainstream society, "Switch" ain't gonna do it, we need tracks like "Tell Me Why" to be released, he's more than just a club rapper, it wouldn't matter if you're from the streets or Hollywood, that song'll touch everyone 'cause everyone felt affected from 9/11, that track would've gotten "Lost and Found" nominated for album of the year at the Grammy awards if he performed it at Live 8 and released it soon after... Releasing "Pump Ya Brakes" would show people that Will doesn't hate all gangsta rappers either since it's a collab with Snoop, people're ignorant of that, Will has problems with the industry, not the artists like some'd believe.... Will got some recognition though, he beat out 50 Cent for best male pop artist at the AMAs, didn't he? If hip-hop wasn't popular, how come 2 hip-hop artists got nominated with one pop rocker? Why is Kanye nomiated for best album with Paul Mccartney and Mariah Carey if he ain't a pop rapper?
  23. Will ain't all about the benjamins, his name ain't Puffy! :lolsign: I'm sure FP could freestyle off the top with the best of the rap game, being an mc is like riding a bicycle for him, no matter what else he does in between he always comes back strong, with him giving us a gem in "Lost and Found" shows that he's the top mc in the game...
